We arrived half an hour before closing & we were made to feel welcome & given an interesting tour by the staff, I will be visiting again when next in Bristol as I loved the history of this house, thank you for taking us on a whistle stop tour of this beautiful house.

This is a great museum! It was built in 1790. It was built by John Pinney, sugar merchant that owned a slave plantation. It was donated to the Bristol Council in 1937. It became a museum the same year, and thus has been a museum for 86 years. More
