Indian Night, an eatery nestled in San Antonio, ostensibly promises a culinary voyage to the vibrant flavors of India. However, this promise falls short in execution. The ambiance first greets you with a lackluster welcome, marred by a noticeable deficit in cleanliness, a crucial misstep in hospitality. The menu, though ostensibly diverse, immediately disappoints with its unavailability of listed items - a culinary letdown for eager palates. The Paneer Makhni, a dish usually resplendent with creamy, tomato-based richness, here presents itself as a pallid shadow of its counterparts in other establishments, lacking both depth and the quintessential zest that defines Indian cuisine. Further, the Bhindi Masala, which should dance with a harmony of spices and okra's natural charm, instead arrives as an underwhelming, desiccated offering, devoid of the vibrancy one anticipates in this classic dish. A peculiar episode with their Chai encapsulates the overall experience. Initially denied, then provided, this beverage, often the comforting epilogue to an Indian meal, was strikingly distant from the aromatic Masala Chai one yearns for. It lacked the symphony of spices and the robust tea flavor that characterizes this beloved drink. While the service was passable, it hardly compensates for the culinary disappointments. In a city like San Antonio, where the gastronomic bar is set high, Indian Night's offerings are conspicuously subpar. Their fare, bereft of the authentic, soul-nourishing essence of Indian cuisine, leaves much to be desired. In conclusion, for those seeking the rich tapestry of flavors that Indian cuisine so beautifully weaves, Indian Night stands as a reminder that not all journeys to flavor are triumphant. Its underwhelming dishes, coupled with a lack of attention to ambiance, place it far from recommendation. For the discerning palate, this establishment is a missed mark in the vast culinary landscape of San Antonio.

Chicken Tikka Masala was good, I asked for it to be medium spicy, and after receiving it, I should have asked for very spicy, but it was still very tasty. I also ordered the vegetable samosas and garlic naan. And they have the glass bottles of Mexican Coke. All of that came to about $25 before tip. If I lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular here.

This place is in downtown San Antonio. There were lots of pay to park options nearby but very little free parking And the restaurant does not have a parking lot. I finally found a free spot to park on the street but had to walk about 3 blocks to the restaurant.

We found this place a couple of weeks ago. I have enjoyed Indian cuisine over the past twenty years. I can honestly say this ranks as some of the most amazing places at which I have ever eaten. If you have never eaten Indian, I suggest the Chicken Tikka Masala. For the seasoned veteran Indian cusisine enthusiast I would highly recommend the Chicken Madras, the Lamb Curry, and the Aloo Ghobi. No meal is complete without a naan. I recommend butter or garlic. We will be back and recommend this place as often as I can.

The food is amazing. Some of the best desi food I have eaten. I saw the chef cook the food, and it looks like he truly cares about the food he makes. Service though, it just sucks. They forgot one soda, they forgot an entire order, and they forgot to give us our white rice for our 3 other dishes that came with rice. We had to keep reminding them of things we were missing, and they weren’t items that a chef needed to make like raita. Also we tried to order a mango lassi, and we were told they couldn’t make one, yet 10 minutes later another table got mango lassis. I would give it another try if there service gets better just because of how good the food was.

The quality of the food was very good. The service was fine, the atmosphere was beautiful. It was clean and comfortable on the inside. My only criticism is that the quantities are small for the price you pay when you compare to other Indian restaurants. I understand that animal proteins are expensive and so they really need to limit that to stay profitable but rice is relatively cheap, yet they don’t give enough rice to enjoy a thoroughly saucy dish like chicken tikka masala. If they were to be more generous with the rice when serving dishes heavy on sauce, it would be a low cost way to elevate the satiety of the customer.

My parents and I were very fortunate to dine at this restaurant this past Saturday. I had the Paneer Tikka Masala and an order of Garlic Naan, and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and well seasoned, and it came with a generous portion of rice to blend with the masala. The hostess was very kind and the ambiance was quite pleasant. We all agreed that this was the best meal that we enjoyed during our stay in San Antonio, and I wish I had more opportunities to go back. Highly recommended!!

I have found this place randomly while I was on a conference travel in San Antonio. I was hungry after arriving my hotel and went to this place as the closest restaurant to me and I love Indian Food. However, this place was different. It is so clean, food is so delicious, the owner is so welcoming. You literally feel like you are home. After having a buffet lunch, couple days later I brought two friends that I met at the conference for dinner. Again, it was such a great experience. The food which I had biryani was itself enough to get me full. I also tried a desert and mango milk as the drink. Overall, it was a great experience for me and my friends. This place is definitely a must go for a different experience. Definitely Enjoy!

Surprised with a lovely visit to this restaurant to eat a wide assortment of delicious dishes. I would gladly come here again! I highly recommend the lamb and goat dishes although my daughters swear by the chicken tikka masala. The naans are absolutely the best! I could have eaten them alone and been happily satisfied. I will most definitely return to this restaurant again and again. My husband, mother and children were not kidding when they told me they found an amazing restaurant with all of my favorite dishes.

Simple, cozy spot. Curries not authentically spicy. Vindaloo had zero acidity, no heat and was way too thick, almost like tomato paste. I don't know where these recipes came from, but it's not traditional Indian food. I've lived in London and NYC, as well as having spent considerable time in Mumbai and Bangalore. I'm aware of what authentic, quality Indian cuisine tastes like. Tandoori chicken was tiny. Thankfully, not dry. Rice was perfectly made. Moist. Good flavor. Naan was solid. Lamb kebab had great flavor. That was the single item I'd order again.

Very good food, with a nice selection of items on the menu. All the usual things, we ordered 2 dished we hadn’t had before Chicken Malia and Lamb Roganjosh, onion naan and mango lassi - delicious! The staff was super nice and attentive. It’s a casual atmosphere, we were in shorts & others were too. The only draw back was the exterior of the restaurant, I probably would have walked past but my husband opened the door to look in and the very nice young man beckoned us to come in, I’m glad we did. Will go back. This place is beside the bridge with locks on it, it is at street level so out of the busy tourist crush.

Bad experience! came to dine in with a friend and ordered (chicken korma) something I've ordered through uber eats 9 times always satisfied, and was given something else (chicken malai). Waitress flat out lied and said that's the same thing. Friends chicken tiki masala tasted like ragu with chicken. Waitress didn't want to do her job. Paid $57.64 including tip and we both left hungry and disappointed. If you're not serving a specific dish don't con someone out of their money by saying this is chicken korma when it's not.

Friendly, clean and delicious. Just visiting the area, but tried the Chicken Tikka Marsala and the Beef Curry (Mild) both were served family style along side a large plate of basmati rice. More than enough food for 2. We are happy to have leftovers to enjoy again . We also tried a dessert, unfamiliar with the name but it was a nice creamy mildly sweet sauce over a type of soft cheese and topped with pistachios, small but perfect ending to a great dinner. Thank you!

Fun Indian restaurant located right across the street from the historic courthouse. We were looking for a casual restaurant that wasn’t too touristy and this place was perfect for that. We ordered the Chicken Tikka masa, Aloo motor gobi and plain Nan which were good but not great. The Chicken Malai was actually our favorite dish. We’re glad we tried this place. Three dishes easily feed the 4 of us. Our waitress was nice and helpful.

What a wonderful find in SA! Family of 8 who eat curry in England frequently thought this was the best we have ever eaten! Flavorful, just the right size portions, each dish cooked to exact heat requested. Only thing I missed was the Lassi, which they were out of. Do not let the unassuming building and interior put you off. You will be as surprised as we were by the quality. A+

I will first start off by saying that I do not eat much Indian food but i was curious to try different things. I was excited to know that an Indian Restaurant would be coming to downtown. I looked over their menu in advance but was surprised when I showed up that you could also pay for a buffet. Oh man was the food good. The atmosphere and the workers were very nice and friendly and treated me like family. I will definitely be coming by again and this time I will bring my friends. The chicken and yellow rice are my favorites now. They also had curry and white rice in the buffet. I would highly recommend.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place while out for a walk. Since it was dinner time we decided to give it a shot, and we are so glad we did. This place is brand new and is off to a great start. The building itself was extremely clean and welcoming. The staff was super friendly when we entered and took great care of us as we dined. We both ate from the buffet and loved everything we tried. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

I had a lovely experience at The Indian Night. The dishes I tried (Lamb Korma and Chicken Vindaloo) had wonderful depth of flavor and a great level of spice. The Garlic Naan was so good that I ordered more! The sweet rice dish was refreshing at the end of the meal. The owner was very friendly and the service was prompt. Lastly the building downtown is older and has some character, which makes for a nice atmosphere.

Ordered chicken biryani which has been very good the past times I've ordered however this time chicken was super dry and chewy. Did not have almonds or raisin as described when I called to inform them that maybe I got the wrong order because my dish didn't have ingredients it's supposed to come with. The lady who answered said they just weren't giving almonds and raisins to anyone , didn't say why just that they weren't.

Nice new Indian restaurant downtown. Service is friendly and welcoming in this small space. The food was tasty without being too spicy hot. Most importantly, the food wasn’t as oily as it is in many other Indian restaurants. The main chef is from Bangladesh and the flavors will respect the sensibilities of that region. It is a bit pricier than other restaurants but the curries as worth trying and the portions are very generous. Recommended.

We ordered chicken curry, biryani and Naan. Curry and Nan were good ,but biryani was a joke. They literally hand-mixed the " SAME exact curry" with plain rice and gave it as biryani. My disappointment is immeasurable. For every Non-Indian, DO NOT VISIT this location. They will feed you whatever they like in the name of Indian food, and you wouldn't even know. This place is a complete waste of time and money.

Worst possible India food I have tried in the entire country. Chicken tikka is like a piece of wood, completely charred, zero flavor and full of red color. Lamb tikka was again like rubber. Eating them was like eating a hard stick jaw candy that you can keep chewing but can’t swallow. I think this place should just shut down they are putting a black mark on the reputation of Indian food.

Literally the worst place to place an order, the guy made me wait more than an hour to pickup n then said cancel the order if you are in hurry and on top of that the food is the worst you will have, Dont go there if you got family n kids or visit them at your own risk. Guys running this place dont have any idea about customer service. Just because its in Downtown many ppl prefer this but what a pathetic service and food you will get.

We were on a family trip for two days in Austin and nearby, had food from different indian restaurants. Out of all we were happy/satisfied when we had food here, we ordered chicken kabab, prawns curry, chicken tikka, Naan's and in biryani' both chicken and goat. I would say the food is not fancy as a restaurant food but it is really good in taste and we give five star for taste and quality and really happy to leave a review.

The flavor of the food was good, but it was served slightly above room temperature after almost a thirty minute wait. The portion sizes were very small for the price you pay and the service was slow as well. Being downtown with high rents, I can understand a higher price, but when the service is lackluster and the food is cold, it's unacceptable.

Showed up 95min before close and wanted to order something to go. I was turned away because they said they weren't going to take any more orders. The lady said our dining room is full but there were clearly plenty of tables with nobody sitting at them.

Food was just not very good. Worst biryani I ever had. Chk was dried out and tough. The raita tasted weird. The samosa was dry as well.

Ordered for delivery and was not disappointed. The butter chicken was amazing - best I’ve had in a long time. Portion sizes were excellent. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh and tasty. And packaged well for delivery. Will definitely eat again. More

Delicious! I had the buffet for lunch. There were only about eight options (mostly vegetable dishes, a few with chicken), but I was not disappointed. It was all pretty mild - maybe a 4 out of 10 - which I appreciated, as I'm not good with

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the food and the portion size. Look here, the price of chicken tikka if 8.99 which basically comes down to 1$ per chicken piece. This should the greatest I have ever invested on a chicken dish.

This place is excellent. Friendly environment always :-) and very helpful. It’s great because it’s right in the center of San Antonio and close to major hotels on the Riverwalk I will come back again. Great job guys!

Fantastic food on the buffet during our visit. Friendly and welcoming service too. We appreciate their location downtown because we’re southsiders and visiting the medical center can be a bit of a drive.

Food was delicious and piping hot. We tried the vegetarian dishes and all of them were super yum. Surely recommend .

It is the best place to lunch or dine, if you are in San Antonio. The mutton Briyani was awesome. Mutton was well cooked and the spices were just right for the palate . Highly Recommend.. More

INCREDIBLE. Don’t let the modest appearance deceive you. The cook is from NYC and brings too-notch food to a low-key setting. Worth the 5 stars!
