Our experience with Justin Havre & Associates was not the greatest. We were provided an agent Moe Barakat, and the initial responses were ok. However with the hot market in Calgary the searches that kept getting updated for listings became less ideal for what we were looking for. We did eventually find a place by luck due to our own searches for a property. The negotiating portion and final price acceptance did go well. However that was the end of the positive experience. With regards to the purchase this was our first time buying a home and we were not provided the best advice on what should be done in the purchase contract. We had the home inspection completed and it specified a sliding door needs to be fixed. This was not followed through it was noted to the seller and was mentioned that it should be fixed. However it was never completed, and the response was that the lawyers need to deal with it which the lawyer went silent. No follow up was ever done to this date. After speaking with other agents we learnt that normally the agent helps to make sure the seller cleans the home before possession. Our realtor did not provide us any advice for this. We took possession of the home in terribly dirty conditions. The bathrooms were disgusting as was the fridge. There was left over garbage in the backyard as well as some junk from the previous owner. The possession walk through our agent as not available and provided a substitute who did not provide us any advice. For first time home buyers we had no idea what we were suppose to look for, and she had no idea either. What was the point of our walkthrough then? The possession was a text message that said congrats here is the code to the house. No one to greet us at the house at all. A week later we received a welcome basket that was also unimpressive. Just a minimal basket, speaking to some friends they received much better gifts and in some cases their lawyer fees were paid for. We would not recommend Justin Havre & Associates to any home buyer they really did not seem interested in building a personal relationship with clients. We felt like we were just another pay cheque for them. Responded saying they would reach out, it has been 3 weeks and not a word.

Mark John took all of the stress out of what is normally a very stressful process. We wanted a specific area, a specific kind of home, and he never rushed us, never pushed us to buy something that wasn't just right.
