We went here for my brother birthday, and had booked "The great train robbery". The staff was very friendly, the facility was clean and looked well kept up. This was my first locked room experience, so I didn't really know what to expect, I guess the room we choose had more logic type puzzles than most. Which some of the solutions to the logic puzzles were a bit of a stretch and we had to get some help for. I really enjoyed the searching and physical type puzzles more so than the logic puzzles. Our group was able to get the combination to the safe, but had some trouble with the lock itself, but the staff (Toni) was nice enough to get the key to bypass the safe lock to open it for us even through were were 2 or 3 min over our time. Everyone in our group had a great time and said we would for sure go back. To get that fifth star I suggest is to either have an introductory video or maybe a staff member dressed up in character specific to the room, to get more into the role of being "famous train robbers" and more searching/physical puzzles.

Our group of escape room enthusiasts just did The Price is Life theme. We have done 50+ escape rooms, and this one easily rates in the top ten! So many escape rooms are familiar variations of one you have already done, but this room is truly unique! A really cool and original theme that gives you the nostalgic vibe of every game show you have ever seen on television. The puzzles were thematically appropriate and well executed. Even the objective for the room was a different premise from the usual goal of finding an object or opening a final door. The staff, as always, were friendly and helpful. I may be bias, as we managed to hit the top of the leaderboard, but this room is a solid five stars! I would highly recommend this room to people who enjoy a great escape room challenge and are looking for something different!

This was my first locked room experience and it was overall pretty decent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. However when the room started we found a set of keys left inside that we thought were for us which we used to open one of the puzzles as sort of a starting point, turns out they were the master keys... Oops. Next one of the locks didn't work right, we were entering the right code but it wouldn't open, we had to call for assistance and even the staff member found it difficult but eventually he got it opened for us. Finally once we reached the finale the Golden Apple box was left open and we were able to just reach in and grab it without solving anything We still solved the final puzzle anyway but it kind of broke the experience overall.

This was a great experience. First time trying a locked room puzzle, so wasn't sure what to expect, but the puzzles were challenging, the staff was friendly and very supportive, and the facility was very well kept. It did take us an hour and 5 minutes to complete, we were so close at the hour mark that the staff let us keep going which was nice. I would definitely do this again. I do wish that there was a longer option for a locked room, like two hours. I would love to take on a multi hour challenge to lengthen the experience. I would also like to go with more people next time. The more the merrier for this activity.

My first time to a locked room was today. We did the Train Heist. I was unsure at first booking the slot if it was going to be worth the money. Boy was I wrong...this was Soooo much fun. The theme was great. The decor and setup was spot on. Lots of challenging puzzles and very fun to complete. I am hooked now and want to try more. The staff are very friendly and helpful without being too helpful. They genuinely want to see you complete it on your own. Thank you for a great time, I will be back.

The rooms themselves are okay. I've gone to almost every escape type room in the city and others have nicer rooms and multiple rooms to boot. This one has rooms that on a scale from 1-10, rate about a 6.5. The staff are friendly (some more enthusiastic). The prices are pretty much on par with other escape rooms. I've done Mutiny, Quizzler, Antartica, Price is life, Train Heist, Captivity, Prison Break, Forbidden Temple. Not sure, but some escape rooms give you a free pass on your Birthday !

Had the amazing opportunity to test out a brand new locked room tonight not yet open to the public - thank you The Locked Room!! Now onto the good part, this new room is unlike any of the rooms I’ve done yet - and believe me I’ve done a lot! The unique intriguing puzzles keep you engaged! I loved everything about this room! I can’t say more without giving it away but I highly recommend you book Mythical Creatures once it opens to the public!! You won’t be disappointed!

We had a great time, and the room was well set up. Don't arrive too early or you'll be standing to wait, and I don't recommend bringing a large group as the clues are very well coordinated but a bit sparse, and members of your group may end up chatting and uninvolved if there are more than five people. Staff are accommodating, though they initially came across as a bit brusque by the end everyone was lovely. Creative puzzles, definitely dress up for it all!

I've done almost half the rooms at this place and their other locations. The locked has great organization for players and how they tell what to expect from the rooms (locks, how to use the items, what to touch and not touch, etc.). The staff are always really friendly and polite. If you want to do an escape and don't have much experience, these rooms are a great starting point for how to play the rooms and how well they can be done

The four of us had a great time doing the Train heist and got as far as the vault before time ran out. It is definitely for those who have done a hidden room before. We would highly recommend this as a fun experience for all which was made possible by the friendly staff and a few hints along the way. There were definitely some creative minds involved in designing this adventure. We will definitely be back to try a different room.

We had a great time last night trying to solve the mystery of the "Sinister Study", it was extremely challenging but so much fun. With the use of a few hints we were able to solve the room. We did it as a work team building event and every member of our party, from 30-65, both male and female, enjoyed it immensely. The staff was amazing and we will definitely be coming back, both for work and individually.

  • Danielle Chilcott

Loved this!! I took my nieces (11 & 13) and my mom, they all had a great time. We picked the easiest room for the first time and that was a good call. We didn't escape, but were on the last puzzle when the time ran out. The riddles were challenging without being impossible and suited the theme. Value for money was totally worth it. The staff were great and the place was clean. We'll be going back.

We did the train heist room and it was great. Not too difficult but we were also a larger group and we’ve done escape rooms before. This is our second time at locked room- first time at this location. The outside is a little confusing but once you know where to go it’s fine! Would recommend going here

We had a great experience here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We wanted to play with a different number of players than recommended, and they made it possible. The room (lair of the minotaur) was fun and logical. Some cool mechanics in the room. The pricing was also great as they were having a $5 off promotion for their 5 year anniversary!

We did mythical creatures with a team of 3 (2 adults and a 12 year old) and found it fairly straightforward and fun. Well maintained room with puzzles that made sense. Not scary (the kid hates scary). Great staff, good fun.

Had an awesome experience here! They were able to accommodate just 2 of us for Lair of the Minotaur. We escaped with 23 minutes left. The room itself was well kept and all puzzles and locks functioned as intended. Puzzles were logical and solvable, requiring no specialized knowledge, and minimal in math.

Always a fun time at the locked room. My family has been to maybe 6 rooms in the Locked Room family and had a great time in each. The difficulty levels are fairly accurate. The themes are well thought out.

Booked the price of life room for 7 people; 3 adults, and 4 kids. We had a great time. The 3 younger kids had fun because they had the balls that were found and had to be thrown into a "hole in the wall".

It was a great time! My friends and I did the hipster hangover room themed after the hangover movie. It was exciting, challenging and so well put together. The staff we helpful just to the point to let you figure it out ourselves. Great staff and clever room!

  • Ian Ball

Excellent staff and great experience. We took 7 11-12 yr olds there and feel like the staff where extra great to deal with. We did the price is life room and really enjoyed it. Probably should have brought more adult to kid ratio but would highly recommend

  • Rebecca Longpre

The staff here is more than fantastic. I booked for the wrong day and when I called to adjust it they were extremely helpful, even when the group was indecisive about times. They called me back about three hours later to check in on what we had decided

  • Richard Hayes

First time there. Due to late booking we had to pick one of their harder rooms to escape. We failed, like most people. But the experience was good. Good props and environment. I can see how an easier room with a good group of people would be a blast.

  • Darren Fedorchuk

Good fun environment. Been twice, once as a duo and once with 4 of us. Both times were a blast. I recommend sticking with the recommended group sizes on their website unless you're very experienced at escape rooms. They are hard with only two people.

  • James Zou

@EscapeCapersYYC (Eric?) on Reddit was nice enough to give myself and 5 others a free Beta Test of his Mythical Creatures escape room this evening. Had an awesome time trying the new room and got a teaser of "The Price of Life" can't wait to try it.

  • Jamie Craig

Great group activity. Would be excellent as a team building exercise for small groups. The puzzles in the sinister study were a blast to figure out and the behind the scene mechanical magic made the experience unforgettable. It's hard to go

  • Gabe Dunn

Had a great time with some friends. Tried a locked room that I hadn't done before, and unfortunately failed to finish the puzzles. However, once we had run out of time, the staff let us continue to work on solving the puzzles as they reset

  • Ross Arnold

I've done two at this location - Great Train Heist and Hipster Hangover. Both rooms were very unique, well-designed, and engaging in terms of theme. There were six of us for the Train Heist, and that was probably too many, especially since

Did the Christmas escape room - to be honest kind of thought it wasn't going to be that fun as Christmas is over and all that. But it was a VERY good and interactive room. There was a lot of puzzles for everyone to be doing and I was never

I've been to 3 rooms from this franchise (The Minotaur Lair and The Sinister Study in the Southland location and Mutiny on the High Seas in the North East location) and all of them were an awesome and very fun experience! I've always loved

  • Trevor Besplug

We just had our son's b-day friends (10/11yr olds) do the Train Heist, they loved it! The staff was awesome. They were very patient with our group, we needed a lot of hints. I would diffidently recommend this location. Made our kid's day!

  • Shudipto Amin

We tried "The Sinister Study", and it was cool! Unlike other escape rooms where you are initially locked up in a room, we were free to move around and leave the room even (to go to washroom, for eg). Instead, the point was to complete an

Went to the 'Great Train Robbery' room at the Locked Room. It was a lot of fun to do even though we weren't able to finish it on time. Staff was friendly and we were able to start on time. I wouldn't recommend doing these rooms with a

  • Adam Clark

We did the Lair of the Minotaur. It was an intermediate one and very good. Some tricky puzzles and needing teamwork. 4 people was good for that one as it's not a huge room. 6 would get a little crowded and you're not able to work on

  • Ross Barannikov

First escape room in Canada. We were in the hardest room and it was really exciting. The staff is really friendly and was ready to help anytime.

The staff were amazing and made the experience even better. The room was very fun to go through and with a group of 4, everyone had something to contribute. Would definitely go back to try out some of the other rooms …

A fun spot for work team building. I was in the train heist room and it was fairly challenging but very engaging with the group.

Although decor was not high quality, the puzzles and service were. The puzzles were challenging, but didn't ever leave me completely lost. Went with two friends and did "the minotaur's lair". A really fun experience.

  • J. Miles

It was my son's birthday celebration. 7 teenagers did the Train Heist and loved it! And they did not complete it but had a great time! Staff was very helpful and polite and friendly. We will definitely go again.

  • My Inkie Fingers

First let me start by saying the staff are awesome. We had a lot of fun even though we didn't complete the room (first timers). We are definitely going again. Great experience all around!

  • David Swanson-Reinhardt

Staff were amazing! Gave us a very detailed overview of the room and any little details needed before entering. Room was a lot of fun and detailed props and decor made for a great game!

  • Cole Girodat

This was our first escape room experience, and it was unforgettable. Manager Steffan went above and beyond, and we will definitely be back to try out the other rooms! More

The people working here were kind and easy going, the room was super fun! It was my first time doing any locked room experience. Now I want to do another one!! …

The lady that helped us was AMAZING! Absolutely best customer service I have ever had - thank you SO much, Mo! You were phenomenal - give this girl a raise!

  • Murray Laatsch

Lair of the Minotaur room was so much fun! Took my family almost the whole alloted hour to escape. We will be back ro try a new room and a new adventure!!

  • Tom Irwin

Been a few times. Very challenging with the rooms being updated fairly regularly. Hopefully one of these days I can do one without getting a hint!

  • Jaime Campbell

Was an amazing time and lots of fun. Staff were great and very helpful. There was a lot of challenge which made it that much more fun. More
