Thank you for leaving my brother with a disability; an acquired brain injury. In the late 70s my parents presented my brother to the RCH with a head wound from a fall. Clean up, few stitches and they were sent on their way. Over the course of 8 months my brother was crying a lot, not sleeping & had no appetite a lot of the time. Nurses and doctors ar RCH kept telling my parents that their was nothing wrong with my brother & ultimately that they were wasting health professionals time, & their own. A student spoke to her supervisor and they ended up referring my brother to have a CT scan at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This is when they found a tumour that was cancerous in the back of my brothers head, in very close proximity of the initial injury from the fall. When lawyers got involved all of my brothers visits, records & history disappeared without a trace.. just evaporated. The only place that my brother could have the surgery was here at the RCH. A small incision was discussed pre-surgery which turned into a massive scar ranging from the back of my brothers head to the bottom of his neck. My brother was butchered. Yes they removed the tumour, but they cut something they weren't suppose to in my brothers head and left him with tubes going from his brain to his stomach to drain excess fluids and a permanent disability. Nobody took responsibility or was ever held accountable while my brother was never compensated. He was given 2 years to live maximum as a child... my parents were injecting him with growth hormones with training from nurses at home for 7 years approx. He died in his early 40s. This is enough to confront any human being with difficult ethical quandaries. I think the people responsible are disgusting and an absolute disgrace. Why do they get away with such things & who protects them?

We went to the hospital emergency twice now and once they were quick to assess rashes for my daughter and second time was last night. We started wait time at about 9:25 pm to 9:30. Went there Cz my daughter was vomiting and not keep food or drinks inside her. Triage system is super confusing as the nurse didn’t bother to check her fever. How can you assess half way and you are not doctor and how do know she is less sick from others. We left from there at 3:45 am after more than 6 hours wait only to be told that still 5 more kids ahead of you and any other priority kid will be seen ahead of you too. If I went there with my sick child, will you punish me by extending my wait time just because one person thinks my daughter is not looking dehydrated. One nurse came to us after my daughter vomited her food and drink there too which has been happening from 3 days now. She gave her anti nausea. I said why you didn’t give it her before as vomit is the main reason why are there before. She said she didn’t get time before. You didn’t get time in 6 hours. They just keep scaring you by saying the person who has waited same as you has been here more than 6 hours. We did the same but no one saw us and we decide to leave because indirectly your staff keeps saying that other kids are ahead in category system. You have called so many kids who were coughing and vomiting before us and they were also looking fine and crying with Tears. You guys just wait for people to leave on their own so you don’t have to see them and next time they won’t visit you. I am not visiting there again, see you succeed in your mission of not helping children who are less priority.

One star because the triage was quick. But it all goes downhill from there. A doctor announced ( shout out) to the waiting room that there’s a 7hr waiting time because they are understaffed. How is that Ok to say?! Unethical and careless way of communicating with sick patients and their families. Then the confusion -admitting patients from the waiting room ( after 7 hrs waiting) into emergency bays only to be told to wait another few hours again to be seen by the dr. The irony of investing the million $ fishtank and running an understaffed emergency dept. Funny that you’d expect to see a craxzy busy energency room once admitted. But no. Medical staff taking their sweet time, seeing literally one patient per hour-checking their social media and having a thorough rest between patients chit chatting about nasty screaming babies( rolling eyes) and grumpy parents and passing time whilst kids cry themselfs to sleep out in the waiting room. Good on you guys. Last but not least here’s a thought! there was no separation of contagious and other patients they were all together in the waiting room. Come in for a stich go home with flu kinda deal. Not to mention there was no appropriate facilities to care for newborns ie as a minimum a room for breastfeeding mums, micro for formula fed or highchair etc It’s a shame because the dr was very knowleadgeable and we were happy with the outcome.

Worst experience of my life. I suffer from multiple chronic illnesses which often land me at the children's. I wish I never went there. I told them I hadn't been able to eat for 14 days due to intense nausea, they put a tube down my throat against my will and force fed me. 2 weeks later I end up back there with pancreatitis as they had given me refeeding syndrome due to not believing that I hadn't eaten for that long. From there, I developed acute recurrent pancreatitis, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and POTs, all because they didnt believe my body was in starvation mode and fed me too quickly. I have been an inpatient and outpatient for 2 and a half years now. Dont even bother asking for pain relief on the ward - even if its on your chart. It took them three hours to get me morphine while I was screaming in pain in the middle of the night. 3 hours. Then the following day I had a code grey nurse come into my room when I was already in a distraught state, I was told that I kept cancer patients awake, 2 of which are dying. Not to mention during a catheter drainage a nurse decided to leave me to let it drain, in which it overflowed and spilled all over my bed. She left me in a bed of my own urine and my mother had to get me out of my bed, change my sheets and get me back in. I am traumatised and scarred for life.

Staff where great but got handballed around a lot which was confusing and frustrating and made the process take longer. I went to the gender clinic and after disclosing my Dissociative Identity Disorder to staff was told I “cannot consent” to taking Hormone Replacement Therapy because of my mental illness, which is not only ableist, outdated and untrue, I had talked to my alters about HRT and we all agreed on it and was literally at the point where I was about to get on T and then i mentioned the DID and got my consent forms revoked because it was “too complex” and then I left the clinic with no referral to any other meaningful help when I aged out. People with DID can consent to things, I’m still flabbergasted by this. Otherwise the shops and aura made it feel less like a hospital which was really helpful as someone with medical trauma and the staff where generally understanding, especially since I’m autistic and prone to verbal shutdowns especially in scary environments but it sucks I can no longer go here. The pain clinic also basically told me “sorry we can’t give you meds for your debilitating illness that leaves you bedridden most days and feels like being stabbed all over, try some stretches and excessive and mental positivity” which was baloney.

I cannot express enough gratitude to the Royal Children's Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to my sons. During our nearly 3-week stay, the nurses and doctors went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and well-being, and their warmth and kindness were truly appreciated. Though there were a few delays with our procedure, the understanding and compassion shown by the hospital staff were remarkable. We fully comprehend that there are more critical cases that demand immediate attention, and the hospital's dedication to prioritizing those cases reaffirmed our trust in their expertise and commitment to patient care. Overall, our experience at the Royal Children's Hospital was incredibly positive, and we are very happy with the care our sons received. The staff's welcoming nature and the level of attention they provided to our family made a significant difference during a challenging time. Thank you to the entire team at the Royal Children's Hospital for their outstanding efforts and commitment to providing excellent medical care. We would highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of specialized pediatric care.

My son had a leg injury on last Sunday afternoon. I was grateful for all the prompt and professional services provided by all the medical staff from emergency department to the possum ward. I won’t remember all the names and some could be a misspelling, but Dr Jim helped us with preliminary assessment, the formal doctor in the x-ray identified the needs of the trolley for movement immediately, nurse Michael in emergency, nurse Amanda, Ella and Kristy in the possum award, anaesthetic specialist Toby. You are all so wonderful and made the process as smooth and stress free as possible. Our special thanks for our surgeon Dr Ben Mwaura, you came to see us at 10.30pm after you obtained the CT results. You patiently explained the situation to us and skilfully managed our anxiety. You had a full day operations the next day including my son’s and yet came to assure him the operation was successful. You looked so tired but you know your personal assurance meant a lot to us! We probably won’t see you all in our follow up visits but our gratitudes towards each of you are beyond words. Many many thanks!

I have always had an outstanding experience here every time! 2 of my children had surgery in the last 6 months here and i can not fault any nurse or doctor from appointments to post surgery care. I always tell people that i feel like i am at a private hospital when im at the RCH and how amazing all the nurses and doctors are. However it is such a shame that i went into emergency department yesterday with my daughter and was already going through a rough time and upset enough about my daughter. The triage nurse asked me a question which i didnt hear properly and i said "sorry i didnt catch that properly" then she huffed and puffed. I continued to say " im sorry i couldnt hear you properly because of the mask". She replies back with " why is your mask on your nose or on your ears?" I was in already so much stress that i actually broke down in tears infront of her! This is the first rude nurse at the RCH i have ever come across during my 8 years of being a mum and im actually shocked that a nurse that rude is working with children!

I don't understand how this hopsital gets so much money in donations every year yet the wait time to see anybody just increases. I had to behave like a Karen just to get my sons issue looked at. The doctor was very rude but thank god I stood up to her. She managed to make an appointment with the specialist for the next day. When we arrived. The specialist comments was that I"m surprised Emergencey didn't send him to us sooner. 1 year on and we are not closer to a resolution but we are expected to just keep waiting and waiting for our next appointment. I'd like to see where all the money donated goes? This part is the reply to your message. I have still not heard back from RCH. I"m changing my stars to 1. That's really all you deserve. RCH used to have a great reputation. What has happened. You just seem to spend money on asthetics instead of patient care.

I got asked to leave the hospital today. I only have one hand and I just wanted to pass on a card and flowers to the parents who had children with amputations recently. I got told by a blonde senior member of the hospital in front of a so-called security guard that had no uniform on that there is no place for me here. She said I am not going to let you play with these parents as if I was some sort of insane person. I didn’t know. Try and look for the parents. I bought three bunches of flowers three cards with my contact details. I came from the Sunshine Coast as soon as I saw the news. It is a shame that I got asked to leave immediately. I was trying to help. I am sorry. I am embarrassed that hospital even can treat someone like this. This is Australia. It’s 2023. Why do some people enjoy putting people down? From a hospital. It is so wrong.

Unfortunately they did a terrible job on my daughter of 22 months forehead cut. After waiting for 4 hours they glued her cut without giving me any other options or considering that glue in forehead, an area with a lot of tension, is not recommended from an aesthetic point of view. They also glued her after 3 hours they applied the numb cream that did not have any more effect. The doctor did not glue her cut properly and as soon we got home it was already open. The skin edges were not put close together and the doctor glued her very quickly and not carefully. Now she has a very bad dented scar that will need revision from a surgeon when she is older. Very unhappy with the results and the treatment we got. I do understand they very busy with more important situations but still they did not care at all of my daughter face.

We are thankful for RCH for saving my son’s life and provided him great care at NICU late last year. However, RCH has disappointed us big time about a month ago. We were being kept in ED for over 24hrs, all we did was waiting. Finally got a ward, and again more waiting to a point that caused distress and trauma to both parents and baby. No day light, no fresh air and no one came to clean the floor/bathroom during the stay. Had to keep asking about test results and no one ever knew anything when asked. I won’t go too deep into details but how we were treated was inhumane. And don’t bother to make a complaint because nobody cares and no resolution will be given. Shame on you for how you guys handle situations and complaints, the system is absolutely broken. Do better if you really care about children and families.

Our first time there. I don't know what emergency is like but my special needs son had a scheduled minor surgery there and I am impressed and grateful at the level of preparation both prior to and after arrival to help my son feel comfortable. It made a huge difference to my son's anxiety. The whole process ran smoothly like a well oiled machine. I have never with any of my 4 children, experienced this level of care and detail for a child from hospital staff. In the past at other facilities my son has sometimes been deemed as too hard, as he is non verbal and cannot express what he is feeling. We were blown away with the empathy and understanding of RCH staff. From the admissions nurse to the anaesthetisist to the surgeon and so many others who constantly gathered around to help. Amazing. Thank you!

Last week I had a scare and had to rush to ED@Royal Childrens as my 20 month old daughter was not feeling well. Turns out that she had two infections in her tummy. Since then she’s been on 3 day and a 10 day antibiotic course. The service that I received from Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne is excellent. Dr. Kathrine Chen and the staff were friendly and ensured that I am properly informed about my child’s health and care. I would have no qualms in recommending them to family and friends, especially Dr KC. Once my daughter was discharged we had a follow up video discussion two days later. Dr Chen explained everything in a very clear and easy to understand manner after asking some questions and taking a look at our daughter. I am relieved that my daughter is on the mend now.

I arrived at the emergency room since 8.00 pm my son suffering with mrsa skin allergy which is uncontrollable and been flaring up due to his eczema. I was told the minute I stepped into the room that the waiting room is quiet today and wait time will be 1 hour, which gave me hopes that my son will be able to see a doctor asap. I get that other children may need to seek emergency medical before my son I understand that policies and procedures, what upsets me most is that don't tell me that I will get to see doctors within 1 hour and give me hope to see a doctor. It is now 3.00 am and I need to go to work this was such a bad experience for the first time hoping that I'll be able to experience something good since the good reviews probably never again.

I used to think this hospital was the best! Now it has changed so much. From the information desk person who was rude and unhelpful, who could not be bothered. To the specialist Doctor today I saw who was not at all understanding and had no people skills or compassion. She seemed cold and like a robot. To wait so long for an appointment for answers on moving forward I was told that my daughter's condition is not far advanced enough for treatment or surgery. I was so disgusted with this response. Not only that, she seemed to have better things to do and didn't seem like she wanted to be there as she was running behind with her appointment for my daughter. I left in tears and had to drive home which was over an hour stuck in traffic.

Nothing but good to say about the caring and hard-working emergency staff who saved our 8 month old baby's life. We were transferred from Bendigo very late at night because our baby had intussusception (blockage) of the bowel and he was at the late stages, in a very bad way, vomiting up his poo. They were run off their feet with a full waiting room of emergency patients but worked through the process as quickly as they could in the circumstances and he was treated and on the mend by 1 am. All the while we were treated so kindly and everything was explained to us as to what they were doing to our son. We were so impressed by the expertise of all the staff and can't thank them enough for their care of our baby.

I took my daughter to the RCH back in July due to her having reoccurring abdominal pain including certain symptoms. Dr Scott Parsons told me parents are always trying to look for an answer when there isn't one and stop searching for a reason for her illness. He told me my daughter just has a reoccurring gastro bug. I didn't believe this was correct as I wasn't getting sick either. I went to a specialist who diagnosed my daughter with abdominal migraines which is quite common and reoccurring for children between 8 and 12 specifically for children where there is a parent who suffers from migraines, genetic. Dr Parsons was rude and shouldn't be making parents feel that searching for an answer is not necessary.

We are so blessed in Melbourne to have one of the best children’s hospitals in the world. All the staff, Doctors and nurses, are so caring, wise and professional, I could not have asked for better care for my son. Everyone has so much compassion, and lightheartedness, they really help to make it the best possible experience for both the children and the carers, out of what is usually, unfortunately, a very bad experience. Your well observed efforts are always appreciated and will never be forgotten. Update; have not had to go there for a while, but I still only hear good things about the Royal Children’s hospital, keep up the great work, parents in Melbourne appreciate all you do for our children

  • Anna Shi

I gave 3 star because there are some doctors and Nurse very helpful and responsible. I gave only 3 star because the doctor asked a child with icy body to eat and drink cold stuff. I felt wrong, went home on the second day, used a hair dryer warmed my child to sweat then the high fever's gone! Can you imagine such reputable hospital's doctor was shaking his hands and body, sweating on his head while doing a blood test for my kid, when he took out the needle, the blood was shooting out! I was upset and asked for professional doctor to come then the senior doctor did a nice job. Parents when you meet this guy ask him to leave, please do not let your children suffer from him.

  • kate porter

The staff and facilities here are excellent. I doubt the nurses or doctors have time to look at these reviews, but my experience with them has been amazing. I’ve taken my 1 and 2 year old children a total of 3 times this year (at the request of my GP), and we’ve been made to feel validated and cared for. I’ve expected a long wait each time and come prepared (iPad and snacks!!!), the wait time can’t be helped. If I’m waiting a long time, it means there’s a child sicker than mine who needs attending and I’m thankful my child isn’t that sick. Thank you to the nurses and doctors of RCH, and especially Amy Baylis who reassured me that my child needed to be there.

I came many times to this Hospital but this time is the worst and headache. First I couldn’t find parking spaces and second a long line for registration and next we went to the x-ray section their was crowded that keep us waited for almost an hour. And after this I go a ticket for child at 10:300am to see the doctor until 1:30pm. I asked from the Clinic A1 again that why our turn is not coming. She check the computer that our number wasn’t sent to doctors. She printed another ticket to see a doctor. We arrived at 9:30 am and now it is 3:00 pm. Still we are waiting to meet doctor. It is really really headache and worse and waste of time. Unbelievable

  • Federico Accastello

First time here i had good expectations but have seen just people sleepimg around and complaining about the wait!i just have to say It is just a shame for a big city like melbourne to have a childrens hospital where it looks like a train station,u have to wait average 6hours to see a doctor and then we start treating you?something has to be done quick here or a service like that should be free amd advertised about incompetence in admin!people running this big hospital please stay on top of your duties and get organised to make this beautifull building work properly

  • Hope Asekona

my 2month old daughter was diagnosed with early stage of bronchiolitis today. The doctor we had was so sarcastic saying things like “you can spend all the money in the world but it still won’t help her” or “when you come up with a cure let me know so we can become billionaires tomorrow” I was expressing my concerns and advised him that he she needed oxygen as I was told by a GP. He suggested not giving it to her and to let “Mother Nature deal with it” I understand the tiredness the doctors go through but the sarcasm is definitely not needed nor is it appreciated.

  • Sarah Cox

Had the triage dr say she czn get up on a bed so shes fine. To then vietual ED tell us to go straight back as RCH should have done ultra sound and bloods. Ended up goinf back and the next triage Dr forcefully looked down my 9 year.old childs top and her breasts while asking if she was going through pubity! This is basically SA and should have serious consequences. Not okay. Parents were in the room and answered the question asked. We were there for suspected appendicitis! She has not gone through enough pubity for ovarian torsion to be considered.

  • Janelle Biason

The wait time is unacceptable. We have been here 2-3 times through the last 10 years and I can say it has gotten worse. What good is a great building and facilities when wait time for an ER is appalling. We would have gone to the GP if it was not Sunday midnight. We called the 24/7 nurse and she recommended to go to ER. Please do not make an excuse that it is a GP problem. There are minimum standards for every patient to be seen in an ER. Please try to adhere to that. Otherwise, send patients to other ER that can handle them. Just disappointing!

  • Tareq Haj

waiting in the emergency with a fractured hand for hours.....and hours..... and more hours!!!!! Update to reply on hospital's reply: Thank you for your reply, waiting 5-6 hours to get ANY kind of service (especially medical one) is NOT OK, there is something seriously wrong with the health care system in this country and needs immediate resolution! I have changed my rating to 3 stars just because hospital staff were amazing (esepcially Amy) and its not their fault that we had to wait this long, its the health care system's...

  • maisa najy

Today we had a appointment and webwaited and sat for 2 hours and we got a call that the doctor wasnt there and we had to go do a blood test when we wnt to do the blood test the staff wasnt there we went to reception and she said she couldnt do anything about it until we told her we had to drive 1 hour there she said for us to go see the manager When we went to go see the manaher no one was there and we waited and say for 20 minutes calling the people back until we left We were there for 3-4 hours all for nothing

  • Heba Nayaab

World class facilities, super friendly staff. Always clean and tidy and sophisticated looking. Fun for kids, as should be. A bit too harsh on visitor restrictions. I feel there should be some leniency based on individual circumstances. Quite a bit of wait time sometimes despite having an appointment. The doctors don’t usually provide timely updates on care, to parent, if the child is in out of home care. Parents need to have all prompt information reg their child’s health irrespective of whose care they are in.

  • Susanne Dean

Whilst I can't fault the care they had with my child, I will complain about the lack of understanding they had for my situation. I also don't take kindly to being told my child is autistic when in fact he is shy. No one knows there child like a mother does, such a pity I wasn't listened to and made to feel awful. I fully understand the pressure staff are under, but I can assure you, almost losing my child is far worse. Disappointed in the last nurse that attended to my child is an understatement.

  • Lucy Chaudhry

Absolutely amazing! From the friendly voice when I called to see if I needed to bring my baby in, to the convenient parking, the kind and supportive men at the counters, to the volunteers offering me water, the doctors and nurses, we had nothing but expertise, generosity and professionalism. Not to mention how fast we were seen on Good Friday and the beautiful waiting rooms with fish and lovely art. Thankyou thankyou for looking after my baby and me!

  • Marlon Peiris

What's the point of having a phone line with an option to speak to reception doesn't work? Been trying 4 times, their phone messaging system is broken. The day we were at the clinic I was told to hang around in the hospital and they would call me to give more info. Was waiting for over an hour and when I went into the clinic they already had the info but never had tried to call me. False promises, wasting other's time. Not sure if they really care.

  • Masumeh Shabanifard

My experience was awful since so many seriously ill children patients had to wait for hours before a doctor could visit them in the hospital emergency room! Every 20 minutes, my toddler would throw up, and she was really sick. The nurse told us it would take five hours to see a doctor when my spouse was also ill. That evening was awful! Is there really just one physician for such a large city? Where do our taxes go?

  • larrissa Lambert

This hospital is absolutely fantastic, my daughter was taken by ambulance to rch for urgent bowl troubles. We were lucky enough to spend the night on the brand new wombat ward. The nurses drs and specialists were absolutely amazing and accomodating. I did feel sorry for the people waiting in the waiting room as there was a lot, however I do believe they see patients in order of urgency.

  • Michael Patron

I’m so astounded by these “self-entitled” reviews. Here you have a world-class hospital with the best doctors and amazing staff providing leading health care FOR FREE. Where in the world do you get that? Try the USA? You’ll need to get a second mortgage. This is one of the best hospitals in the world that took such great care of my daughter when she was there. Thank you.

  • Ben Nguyen

My son was in 3 children hospitals in NSW and VIC, and RCH was our last destination. The Doctors, Nurses, Palliative Care team was so passionate, warm, and always provide the unconditional care to my son who was unfortunately not recovered with his rare genetic disease. We was so grateful! My family lost a life but we feel like we owed the whole team a life!

  • Chris Dixon

The facilities and staff make hospital stays for children and their families a little less painful. The fish are amazing, as are the Starlight Captains and the express family room. The staff are excellent and patient care is at the forefront of everything they do. I hope a portion of the parking fees go to the hospital as they can be very expensive!

  • Cyrus Siu

A world-class, leading hospital that is sadly plagued with severe waiting times and staff shortages. I have had to wait many hours to be accepted into (for a start) the observation area, but I understand the shortages faced. The staff (every one of them) is so kind and nice making days better in hospital. Keep up the work fellow RCH staff!

  • Dalena Iglasias

Asian nurse was so racist, her name's Michelle. She spoke to me like one of kids telling me off about my mask & asked me why I'm wearing the clothes I was wearing and told me to get out the room while my son wanted me there with him during a check up. So rude, I tried telling the Supervisor there, not sure if they did anything either.

  • PigskinBulls

The quality of post surgical care here is very low: meds given, obs charted and not much more. Parents left to do toileting, showering etc (even on older teens). Basic nursing skills simply not being met. Feel like a number being pushed through the system. The idea of holistic care is completely lost on most of the staff here.

  • Sanjeewa Weliwatta

Thank you so much for the amazing service you render to parents. True blessing to all parents who received the support of this amazing place. I am forever in debt to all the amazing people who work here to truly make a difference in our children's lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. RCH your a blessing.

  • Basak Isik

We have been waiting at the emergency room. for more than two hours even though We have a GP referral saying URGENT! my 2.5 year old son has been sick for a week with high fever, stomach pain, not eating anything and sleeping the whole time for 4 days. Such a shame royal children! You dont even deserve one star!

  • Inkmasters Direct

sitting here amongst 30-40 people waiting to get basic care, some aleady waiting here already for ! 6 hours ! this hospital spent millions of dollars installing an 'aquarium' to kill time rather than adding a couple of extra doctors to save the publics time and assist/treat waiting parents and tired childern.

  • Cate Parsons

Talented, friendly staff. Beautiful, immense facilities. This place is so much more than a kids hospital. Sick kids can have a bit of fun while there here making the burden that little bit less for them. Heaps of stuff to help parents, even a day care center. Plus there is meerkats. Who doesn't like meerkats?

  • Jeff Bryce

Amazing place doing awesome things for kids that need to be there, well set up , heaps of parking & all the amenities you could need for any time spent there. Our son had to go to three different appointments on the same day the staff were great at keeping him calm & happy on what was a long day for a baby.

  • Ceecee

My son was admitted into Dolphin Ward via ED (ED who were super efficient and quick) We were there for 4 days. During those 4 days we had the same bedside nurse and she was absolutely amazing!! Her name is Jordi. She made us feel comfortable and show compassion towards my son every time. Thank you RCH!!

  • Fatemeh Sarrafi

I went there with my eight months old baby with gastro symptoms. He was so uncomfortable, We stayed from 11:00pm at night to 2:00pm o'clock tomorrow .Almost they do nothing. We came back home and my little boy became worsen and couldn't breathe. We went to emergency with an ambulance. …

  • Andy Low 罗天浩

I want to express my deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses at RCH, particularly the nurses in Possum ward, for their exceptional care of my daughter Ophelia Low. Your unwavering attention and support truly alleviated our stress during her stay. Thank you sincerely once more.

  • Christine Liong

Friendly and helpful team. Definitely the best hospital experience so far, despite the long wait. Everything got sorted out in the end. My son is happy, his arm is fixed, overall a very professional organisation. Keep up the good work RCH! Thanks for looking after us.

We’ve had two emergency room visits here. Both times the nurses were so efficient at triage and we felt taken care of and listened to. The doctors and surgeons we worked with here had incredible bedside manner and followed up with us in the following days. Thank you!!

Have had my son admitted to the Koala Ward through ED twice now. The effort, compassion, and care from all staff is brilliant esp when needed through such crucial and vulnerable situations for children. It really takes a special type people to do what they do here.

I'm a doctor and know the systemic challenges currently facing the healthcare system. The RCH, which I've gone to twice in the past week, remains a dependable, reliable and safe institution for Victorian kids. Respect to everyone who keeps it going.

I’ve read all these reviews and the only response they seem to provide is “When a patient comes through Emergency they are assessed based on the urgency of their condition. The most seriously injured or sickest children are seen first. This

Wait times over 4 or 5 hours. My kid was struggling to breathe and gasping but staff claimed there was nothing wrong with her. Needless to say we ended up leaving feeling like we were not taken seriously or listened to. We went to our GP

Nothing but good things to say about this hospital. Came into emergency and the understanding and care given was top notch. Even had someone walking around the waiting room asking if anyone needed a drink or any snacks. Thanks so much RCH

Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne is the best children’s hospital in Melbourne. For any child emergency, just go to Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. Waiting time to see the doctor is less as compared to other hospitals.

Very good facility.. kids friendly... ample of underground parking, 2 hours cost $18, have your concession card handy and contact security office for concessional parking.. long waits to see the doctors are understandable..

World class hospital, all staff are knowledgeable and professional. Feel safe to send kids there if anything doesn’t feel right, always get the right answer for the right treatment.

  • Jordan Mele

I recommend this place so badly! They were people who give away stickers to the children, and have fun areas for the kids! It even has an eating area! I'm defo coming back! 10/10

1star is for having McDonalds in a hospital. What disgusting message does this send to children. Such low frequency fast food should be banned from society full stop.
