Terrible place. One of the worst restaurant I have experienced in last decade. On typical Friday night we decided to celebrate our friends bday and decided to eat Indian food. So we headed to this restaurant. We ordered medium (hot food, mild food) instead we got extra spicy food, upon request they changed the curries we ordered in fact the replacement was still moderately hot. And the owner smiled and said yes you ordered mild food but you look Indian to me so we gave you Indian style mild food ( what he F$&@k) how do you Judge a person's taste from their appearance. Then we ordered another Roti (bread) & after 10minutes of waiting this guy came to us the Tandoor is closed already ( clay oven). So we can't serve you roti ( Indian bread). Can give you rice instead. Seriously it took you 10 minutes to think that that you have turned you oven off while the customers ate waiting for their food. We ordered 3jugs water so that we can finish the food what we ordered because it was still way too spicy. Their attitude was even worst than their so as their food prices. I will never ever recommend anyone to go to this place. Yes you can if you want to spoil your day. They didn't even offer us any kind of complimentary sweets because the food was way too spicy. I am from hospitality and customer relations background and have an experience of 15 years in hospitality and I would never do this to my customers. Please guys again do not go to this place. For me I have wasted my money yesterday I should have had a kebab instead which is next door. Terrible place. Thanks guys for reading.

We decided to dine here as the virus restrictions were easing and wanted to support a local business. You would assume as there hasn't been customers dining in for a while that they would be putting in their best efforts and customer service but there was so much to be disappointed about! I will keep it as short as possible. After waiting almost 30 minutes for Entree, the Tandoori Mushrooms were cold and hard and the Entree Paneer Tikka was also cold and hard. We almost walked out after this but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. After another 40 minutes, the main meals came out which were really nice along with the garlic naan. The serving sizes are quite small. Additionally to this there was only 1 staff member working the floor, it was freezing cold inside and was quite dirty and unappealing. The place needs a serious clean/revamp. I don't think we will be back here in a hurry or recommending anyone to eat here which is sad. Also, it would be nice if your responses to peoples reviews are not a 'copy and paste' and you actually address peoples legitimate concerns for your business.

This is review is for a get together where banquet was booked so YMMV. Cost per person buffet which had 2 starters/ entrees, 2 veg curries one variety of bread, salad, one sweet and Byo drinks with a cover charge of around $140. Starter/ entree no 1 was consistently overly salty, and same was the case for next 2 batches which came in, starter no 2 was just not cooked properly so after feedback this was rectified. Curry 1 was also very salty so if you have issues of high blood pressure this might be place to visit with clear instructions for low sodium food. Bread was hot and eatable so was the second curry and sweet, if you order salad then lemon / lime isn't included unless you ask and someone listens and acts on it. We have had very good experience in past at the same place but this time it was sheerly disappointing.

Over the past year, I've ordered food to be delivered. Some was good.'Then there was a spate of problems. Old spring rolls heated up the following day and delivered. Burnt samosas that were so bad you'd think they'd spend a year on a Weber. But tonight took the biscuit. I ordered at 5.30 for a 7.30 delivery. All vegetarian. By 8 pm nothing had been delivered. Called the restaurant. Assured it was a minute away. 10 minutes later, I called the restaurant AGAIN. Finally, the meal arrived at 8.20. Entrees were good. But the main course was completely wrong. Chicken Tikka instead of the Eggplant dish I'd ordered (I've had this many times.) They finally replaced it, but by that time, I'd lost my appetite and the rice and naan were cold OMG. The litany of errors is beyond a joke. I will never order from them again.

We went for dinner at Spice Club and had awesome time. The food was fantastic. Entrée - Mains - Deserts all very well done. I am impressed with the variety of wines and spirits they serve. The service was really nice. We were greeted with a warm welcome, special care was taken for the kind of food we wanted and thoroughly explained about different curries and their preparation. The staff is very friendly and made us feel special. I had one of the very best experience of fine dine and will go any day to Spice Club given a choice and highly recommend to any one who wants to experience authentic Indian cuisine. I just found that Spice Club is now under new management I am really impressed with them.

  • Frankie Rose

What a disappointment... The entree lamb chops tough, fatty, flavourless. The cold, limp vegatarian spring rolls could be renamed carrot rolls as that was all the flaccid pastries contained. Both (safe) mains, Chckn Masala and But.Chckn ordered mild. The dishes that arrived were off the scale, not with the familiar heat of a good curry, instead a sweat inducing chilli had been added in sufficient quantity to cause temporary blindness. At this point paying $6 for a 1.25lt of Fanta would have seemed like a bargain.....had it been delivered, sadly it had not. One star each for the Plain Rice - excellent and the tasty Nann.

Best Indian food I’ve had for a very long time. We ordered the family pack and the food was prepared and delivered within 35 minutes. Well sized portions and plenty of yoghurt dips. The garlic naan was next-level fluffy. The beef rogan josh fell apart while serving. So tender and full of flavour! Same for the chicken. The rice was cooked well too, not to sticky or wet. Just perfect. Super impressed and glad we’ve tried this Indian restaurant over others in Frankston. Don’t think I’ll go anywhere else for a while

Waste of Money and time both. We ordered curries and dal and told them to make spicy instead, The curry was sweet and dal was not good at all. Rice was not cooked properly. Wait time was extremely high even when there was only one table. There were other family and they left without eating after waiting for half an hour for food. 1 star for papadum and buttermilk. Not getting the taste and quality for the money you spend.

Very disappointed with the service and food. We ordered Mild chicken Tikka Masala, chicken was stale with foul smell, and curry was sooo spicy . We also ordered Daal Makhani which was full of cream and served cold. Poorly presented food. When we complained about the Stale chicken staff didn't do anything and chrged us full price.

Worst Indian vegetarian food I ever ate. Overpriced , poor presentation, bad quality and unprofessional staff.

Really loved going here! Visited for my first time last week and it was delicious! Not too expensive either. My mother and I were dining in and were a bit nervous as we are both vegan but the staff there were so helpful and talked us through the menu and what they could make vegan for us! I'm also not very good with super spices food but here we got the option to have mild, medium or hot spices which was really great especially if you are taking kids or not huge on spices foods. Will definitely be returning sometime soon and 100% recommend!

It has seemingly gone downhill again. Every few years this place goes downhill, then it picks back up with new managers/ownership etc. Tonight was bad. We ordered at 6:30pm and the food didn’t arrive until 8:30pm. The potato in my saag aloo has the most bizarre dry texture, dry on the inside like it has been reheated and days old? I asked for mild and the meal was spicy. Papadums were drowned in oil. Naan cold upon arrival. Will try again in a year or so, for now Kasturi around the corner is the choice moving forward.

  • Mikey Miller

Ordered through Menulog as they didn’t pick up their phone. Left note for driver and description of apartment building as can be confusing and told to call on arrival. Driver never showed so called restaurant and was told driver had given the food to some random in a different apartment block. Told there’s nothing they can do, the driver is clocking off. No replacement offered at all, so now left $65 out of pocket and hungry. Zero customer service, avoid at all costs.

My partner and I visited this restaurant some weeks ago and were absolutely delighted with the wonderful food served to us. The flavours were beautiful and each course was a gastronomic delight, which was served quickly. To enhance our visit even more, we found the staff to be extremely courteous, pleasant and helpful and would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant. In fact, we are making a return visit this weekend and are looking forward to another wonderful experience. Top marks to The Spice Club.

If you are craving for authentic Indian food or looking for something good around the area, this is where you should go! Food was delicious and the masala was just on point without being overwhelming. There is a variety of food choices so there must be something for you. Food portion was also generous at a reasonable price. The environment was peaceful and neat. Staff was also very friendly and patient enough to explain and recommend us which dishes to choose. Definitely a go-to restaurant!

  • Dunc B

Can't recommend highly enough. Beautifully prepared dishes, cooked fresh with all fresh ingredients. Vindaloo with lamb is my tip, lamb that melts in the mouth :) There are loads of Indiana restaurants out there that just mix a sauce with some meat, but the Spice Club obviously put care and attention into their dishes. Review being made during covid and their contactless delivery has been great.

  • hetal Macwana

Very poor, we were 12 girls there. When we called for booking he asked us how long you take to finish your dinner I was stunned what he was asking but it’s was a day when lockdown announced so we didn’t have choices. Food was horrible and serving capacity he said 1 sabji only 2 person but it was not enough for 2 people two girls can eat but not boys. Lot to share but enough.

  • ANERI MAKADIYA

Very Bad experience at 'the spicy club'. Roti was not baked properly. No taste in veg sabji and paneer sabji. Garlic naan were not even hot served on table. Taste of manchurian and Paneer chilly was same. Not acceptable. Quantity of sabji is so less, only one person can eat. Papad was the one thing which kept rest food eatable.

I've enjoyed Indian food for 30 years and the disparity in quality can be stark. Have I had worse then The Spice Club ? Yes. But its taste is bland and uninspriring. On this occasion we ordered 3 takeaway meals. It wasn't a great start when none were labelled. Especially as they were all chicken. Things didn't get any better on the taste front. We won't be ordering again.

A hell of a problem finding parking on a Saturday night, but it was worth the effort. Very good food, the onion kulcha was particularly good, good service and reasonable price.

Booked a table tonight for five people at a highly recommended place... Everyone was talking about The Spice Club and its amazing service so i decided to visit it tonight And guess what it was the best!! There is nothing to complain :) The service was fantastic and so well trained hats off to the manager ( Raj) Definitely recommended this place to everyone :):):)

  • girish offset

Not at all good experience. Bad food quality. We came here to have dinner from city all the service was not appropriate, rather being polite they were ordering customers to give fast order. Raw food was served with no taste. Good quantity was very less. Don’t recommend this place for food. Hand sanitizer was empty.

Been a regular customer of The Spice Club for over a year now and have been impressed by the food and service every single time. The owner Raj himself is a hard working man himself and love a good chat! Always recommending delicious new dishes for me to try. Also I can not say enough good things about the food, easily the best Indian food in Melbourne!!

  • Althea Maxwell

The food is pleasant but the service extremely lacking. I can only assume they are understaffed. Our desserts arrived 15 minutes apart and whilst our main dishes remained on the table. Our party of five had to wait for mains whilst 3 tables who arrived after us were served. We will not hurry back and instead we shall explore the competitors in the area

  • Michael Reynolds

Very good food. Enjoyed all of it really. Had a few vegan options for our friends and the waiter seemed very prepared for that and aware of what was and wasn't vegan which isn't always the case. Only issue was a private fuction upstairs that was super loud, but the manager came over and apologised for it and got them to turn it down. Would recommend.

  • Vish

I ate in the restaurant. Food was ok. New staff in the kitchen and they’re a bit heavy handed with butter. Great for taste at first but as the food cooled it did get a bit greasy. Also, need to improve the ambiance. Maybe some soft music rather than a TV blaring out the news. Not terrible. Not perfect. Just need a few minor tweaks to get the full 5*

  • Matthew Aitken

I've dined on The Spice Club's cuisine on a few occasions now and have found the food to be consistently high quality. It's priced reasonably well for the amount of food and their menu is very expansive which I also like. Ordering online to collect occasionly confused the front staff, as they have multiple systems to monitor and keep a track of.

  • Howard Irvine

My partner and I got a delivery from the spice club over the weekend. We ordered online and requested a time on the delivery and it came 45 minutes earlier than requested. The curry was OK it had good flavours. garlic naan was soggy and it wasn’t fresh garlic but a garlic past. If I order from there again, I think a plain naan would be best.

  • Mark Pendergast

Super disappointing. Ordered for for delivery asap at 6pm on a Monday night. It's now well past 8pm, no sign of it yet. Just called them, they said it will be at least another half an hour. I don't care how good the food is at this point. Can't take 3 hours to deliver 2 curries. Sorry guys, but I won't be making the same mistake again.

  • Kaveri Changela

It was really a bad experience. They asked us to have food in specific time and served us rubbish food. The manchurian dry and paneer chilly were made in same gravy and too sweet to eat. Poor customer service. Even the lachadar paratha were uncooked and raw. The curry were tasteless too. Inshort, really worst food ever had.

Excellent food. These people know Indian cooking and ingredients. Good staff. I've seen the negative reviews re service or delivery times. Maybe they're too used to McDonald's service times. Not sure. Ordered delivery tonight. They warned me 60 to 70 minutes. Might have been 70 to 75 minutes. Who cares? Grouse

Went for dinner over the weekend and it was a lovely experience. Delicious food especially paneer alloo tikki for entrée (the best one I’ve had in a long time) The main meals were nice too and the staff member who served us was very friendly. Will definitely dine in again when in the area

  • Brodie James

Booked the banquet and was thoroughly disappointed. 1. The entrees were laughably small, we only recieved one mushroom fill each. 2. All the meat tasted like it was cooked from frozen. Very tough and chewy. 3. The server was extremely rude, didn't make eye contact with my female partner.

  • Haohan Xu

Expansive dishes so high quality expected. Told the waitress the roti is burned and taest bitter, please change 1 for me. End up chief came out and told me it is like that. The burn is normal. OK I accept you treat me like low intelligent dud. So you deserve a star. Will not come again.

Very highly disappointing food. The food was raw and not cooked properly. And was also asked to have food early because they were close to closing time . Could have said no to serve us Though papad was good (only one thing was good) Overall bad experience

The food is delicious here. We asked for hot and it was hot. I can't believe ask for hot and then complain I didn't think it would be that hot. Dahl is creamy and delicious, tandoori was awesome. Lamb madras and lamb RoganJosh was mouth watering too.

Wonderful Indian restaurant in Frankstone. Professional for fine dine and good location for birthday parties as well. It was bit hot inside, maybe they didn't turn on the ac. Overall food was good and staff was neat as well.

  • G Y

Aloo Gobi had chunky potatoes and fresh coli flower. Spice was not over powering and it tasted authentic. Jeera rice was not oily but was fragrant and cooked correctly. Staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

  • Shanti Guru

overall it was ok..the food was cold..the Roti had too much oil on it..cold... The coffee was excellent, and the Pistachio ice cream was good. Quantity of the Lamb Rogan Josh was excellent..but once again food was cold..
