100% 0 stars for now if it were possible!!! I tried entering the casino together with my brother for a chill night in Sydney. After carefully reading the Terms of Entry across the entire “The Star” Group I brought my German drivers license. When trying to enter, the employee told me that he couldn’t accept that form of ID since it wasn’t in English and he wouldn’t be able to scan the ID. Since I previously found that an international drivers license is an acceptable form of ID I did not bring my passport (since the chance of loosing the passport is a no go for me to bring it to a casino if I don’t have to). When he asked me for any translated document which might help him understand my drivers license I showed him an official Australian translation of my drivers license. I tried asking the employee at the entrance what the problem with my official translation of the drivers license is, which I have on my phone. However, he was still sticking with the story that he couldn’t scan it, which made me wonder whether he was just too lazy to type it in manually. For the casino it might be beneficial to talk to the head office and check the acceptable forms of entry once again. I definitely won’t come here again if I am treated this disrespectfully again and the management should work on training their entrance staff!! Go to the crown in Melbourne if you’re traveling, it’s much better with really friendly staff!!!

0 stars because I can't do any less than 1 star. Absolute waste of money. I vomitted before even leaving the restaurant. All meat that was supposed to be hot was cold, didn't enjoy nor finish anything we put on our plates. One of the desserts was off and ruined the smell of everything. The seafood was old in taste and the crab just had smashed bits of shell all through it. When mentioned to the manager about how displeased we were and that we would like a refund, he told us we had already sat the duration of our 90 minute seating and eaten all our food even though they took 3 full rubbish buckets from our table in the short time we were there, it had only been 40 minutes and he took 15 minutes to get to us and we didn't get a refund, yet they can charge $30 per person if you don't show or are even 5 minutes late. The food was either over seasoned or overly sweet, not to mention overcooked and cold. When we also mentioned the hot meat was cold he said they could've cooked it fresh for us, but as it's a buffet I don't think that's good enough, they should have the right resources to appropriately store the food at the buffet. The manager should be sacked for being a liar. In fact it was the worst dining experience in my 29 years of life. For $94 a person I expected a lot more.

Stayed at The Star for our sons 21st and at 1am I walked 150m from our poker machine to the bar to get us a drink and was told you can only buy one drink for yourself so anyone else has to come and get their own drink. Now NOT HAPPY JAN that they impose this ridiculous rule on people simply enjoying themselves appropriately and spending money in their casino. I can understand some patrons may need to stop drinking alcohol but surely part of the bar staff job description entails the ability to gauge the sobriety of the patron and serve accordingly. They missed out on anymore of my business as we did not get a drink and cashed out our Poker machine and left immediately. Their beer prices are also way too high at 2 beers (schooners) for $20.41 and my Silver membership has been ripped from me and replaced with the basic Bronze membership card meaning beers and food cost more. Now the reason for lowering my member tier is because I did not spend enough money over the year to keep my Silver tier, now what other company does that! Certainly lost our patronage with the hierarchy implementing offensive rules that affect patrons doing the right thing.

My visit to The Star casino in Sydney left me with mixed feelings. While it's undeniably a decent place to try your luck, I couldn't help but feel a bit underwhelmed. Given its prime location in the heart of Sydney City, I had higher expectations for a more opulent and extravagant experience. The casino, in essence, is just that – a casino. It offers the usual array of slot machines and table games that you'd find in any standard gambling establishment. There was nothing particularly distinctive or fancy about it that set it apart from the rest. I was hoping for a more grandiose atmosphere, with a touch of luxury that matches its central location. The dining options, while decent, didn't offer the fine dining experiences I anticipated from a city like Sydney. It left me desiring more in terms of culinary delights. On a positive note, the staff was courteous and attentive, and the overall ambiance was comfortable. However, the lack of unique features or entertainment options left me wanting more. In conclusion, The Star casino is an okay place to gamble, but if you're seeking a luxurious and extravagant experience in the heart of Sydney, you might be slightly disappointed. It's a standard casino, nothing more, and doesn't quite live up to the city's vibrant reputation.

The security staff was incredibly rude and arrogantly dismissive. Their behavior towards me and my friends is totally unacceptable, lacking basic courtesy and professionalism. A tarnish on what could have been an otherwise pleasant experience. The supervisor too exhibited a distressing level of arrogance that tainted the argument. I strongly advise avoiding this casino. The visit was marred by disrespectful security staff and an overall unpleasant atmosphere. There are better options available (Crown) for an enjoyable and respectful gaming experience elsewhere. Save your time and money.

This is a great venue! It is extremely central and very easy parking that is not very expensive. I would've given it 5 stars except the last time we went here a lot of the casual dining places had gone which meant it was difficult to get a family friendly meal in the venue before our show! In the end we had to leave the venue and come back which impacted on our time as we hadn't scheduled this because previous times they'd had great casual dining places. I hope they come back.

A last minute decision and smaller, and cheaper, rooms were all gone so the only option was to get residents suite, which included two bedrooms and large living area. And wow, it was something else . I will add that I was extra lucky to get upgraded to a city view after chatting to the check in staff. All interaction with the staff was also a pleasure. Always helpful and knowledgeable having a quick and informative reply. Would love to come back here soon.

We came here to kill some time while waiting for our room at Park Royal. Staff here are fantastic. I left my phone behind while going to toilet and they found it and were so courteous. This is a fantastic establishment.

There is something very wrong with the management of Star casino. They host some fabulous shows in the Lyric theatre then set out to undermine them. None of the food court opens early enough to support theatre goers. Neither does the Harvest Buffet.
