"Visiting Durban from Asia"
A well established restaurant in Glenashley. Family owned and run with warm service from Jenny who runs the front. My pics show multiple pics of my favourite dish here, Peking Duck, served the traditional way with pancakes and veg condiments and really tasty hoisin sauce. So far this is the the best duck dish I have had in South Africa on multiple occasion’s. The consistency is a just ideal. Crisp on the outside, while still juicy on the inside, with a tasty hoisin sauce and good pancakes. Please call ahead to book your duck, its best that way. All the other dishes here are amazing too. The salt and pepper prawn, the Singapore noodles, the mixed fried rice are great and just some of the highlights. They even have a secret chinese only menu. Ask for it, if you can read it. This is my only go to Chinese restaurant here. Always a safe bet when in Durban.

This is an old time favourite and classic Chinese Restaurant that has been going for many years. Although the decor might be a bit dated, the place is clean and the food is great. Although some of the individual dishes may be a bit pricey, if you take a menu combination, you get great value for money. Whenever I go with my father and his late sister's fiancee, they always go for the crispy prawns. On this occasion I had a a set menu combo with the aforementioned. My cousin was not feeling to strong and at first she only wanted a soup, but then changed her mind for a different set menu. Food as usual was great and the place was pretty busy for a Saturday night.

My partner and I ordered the duck sweet and sour, and the calamari sweet and sour. I've never tasted food this bland in my entire life. The fried rice is basically flavourless boiled rice, the sweet and sour sauce is watered down and has a horrible after taste, and the proteins are overcooked, chewy, and bland. I wish I could say that I'm disappointed - I'm actually offended.

Visiting Durban from Asia. Wanting to give this restaurant a 3.5 stars. They are a decent family-owned Chinese restaurant. Way better than Tong Lok. The taste of food is average but good enough to satisfy your Chinese food cravings. I believe they can still do better but this is probably the quality you would get being halfway across the world from asia (meaning China, Malaysia, Singapore).

Been there many times, before the family moved from Northway centre to Glenashley. Last Sunday was the worst food our group ever had!!!!! place was dark, no vibe, no waiters... Please wake up before it is too late.

Best sushi and spring rolls! The family that owns it, they’re really nice and always polite. The food is authentic and so is the mayo, sweet chilli etc which is a huge problem with a lot of other Asian restaurants bc they just use Nola.

Owners are nice, butthe food is not what i expected. N this makes it a bit difficult. Our starter was burned. Language also is a challenge. Here when we say stir fry we expecting a mixture of veges, n they gave us something like spinach. Well, it wasn't bad, we got to learn that there is something like that kn the Chinese menu. But maybe they need to rewrite their menu add pictures n so forth. ❤️
If you enjoy salty cabbage and two minute noodle hodge podge, come here. The waitress was soooo unfriendly and the food, if we can call it that, is overpriced for what they are serving. I am disappointed and underwhelmed. Complete waste of money and unauthentic. It’s actually an insult to call this Chinese food. I ordered a vegetarian dish only to find pieces of meat in my food.
Really good Chinese food, they have two menus, one for 'South Africans' and another for there Chinese customers. Luckily I have been able to experience both. Best spring rolls by far and they do these pepper fried prawns and beef and broccoli dish that are unbelievable. Six years since my first review and still eating here. This is an establishment. Keeps my 5 ⭐️
Authentic small chinese restaurant. Pricing is average. The food was certainly tasty. However if you're looking to edit your order in any way don't expect much. Eat their food as is for its authenticity. I found the flavours slightly bland but that appears to be because I'm used to a way higher threshold of spicy.

Probably the slowest service you are able get. We ordered 2x chicken and noodles from Uber eats at 17:50. The Uber drives only got told the order is ready at 19:00. When he arrived there, the restraunt said order isn’t ready. Only received order at 19:40 and restraunt is 13 min away. Uber eats must remove them from their restaurant list.
We had such a bad take away experience, bought 4 spring rolls, prawn chow mein, prawn egg fried rice, chicken with egg fried rice and beef peppers for R521. We all got terribly sick. When we called the manager, all she said was oh sorry but we so busy today and no one is complaining. We will definitely be going back there again …
Quality Chinese food, family owned and run. Blessed to have this family restaurant in the community of Glenashley. Such a treat to get authentic Chinese food whenever the urge is there! Definitely a good place to take visitors. Very unique vibe.

Fantastic food. Full of flavor. Had the beef flank wontein soup. Meat was soft and super tasty, broth was addictive just the noodles were abit spaghetti like. Had the stir fried duck with oyster sauce. Man it was yummy yummy. Definitely worth a revisit.
Great Chinese restaurant - friendly welcome, fast service from knowledgable waiter - wide variety of authentic foods as well as several set menus so lots to choose from. We had several different meals & all had some of each - good value for money.
Ordered food from here recently. Very over priced for a very mediocre meal. Got the Beef Fried Rice, it was a bit dry and also, the chips on the side were ridiculously over priced

Unbelievable service and great food. Certainly Durbans best Chinese restaurant. The waiter was Indian but so knowledgeable and patient with rookie Chinese food eaters. Service was prompt and the set menu was extremely generous and very tasty
Worst Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is utterly disgusting, i mean just look at the photo of those “spring rolls” - I can’t believe they even call them spring rolls because they definitely aren’t. Even the smell of the food
Ordered Foo Yong and had chilli in it. Have ordered this a million times for my child and never has it had chilli in it. So annoyed!

Yum - sink your teeth into a giant, crispy prawn spring-roll ( with a squeeze of fresh lemon); enjoy soul soothing chicken sweetcorn soup and wonder if you will have any room for the saucy Sweet& Sour pork with egg fried rice.
Good portions and size wasn't adequate for the price. Vibe of it was quite not laid back.

Fresh delicious food. Reasonable prices. I tried menu A. You get to taste a bit of everything instead of just one meal. Buy 1 get 1 free sushi every day also, which is an absolute bargain. The salmon was so fresh.
Great value for Money. In a pleasant area with plenty of nearby street parking.

The food here is delicious but we only do take aways these days. I hardly order from the menu as I prefer the traditional Chinese dishes which the owner is happy to accommodate me. Wait is generally 20 mins.
It's the worst. It's too expensive and the service is the worst

Absolutely the best sushi in Durban, possibly South Africa and maybe even the world! Love this amazing restaurant and would recommend it to absolutely anyone! Brilliant service!
Placed an order from the price list on Google, only to find out when paying that it was outdated. I suggested they update their price list as it was misleading. Food was bland
Very delicious chinese food, my favourite was the Peking duck. Thank you Angela and Yuji for a great experience. Laura and Sean

I've been supporting this establishment my whole life and the quality has never dipped. The food is amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Tried there lunch special. Was average, rather order your own mix of dishes. Ill definitely give them another go based on other reviews.
The portion sizes there are insane. My meal could have fed a family of 3, quite easily. Not only that, the food was lovely as well.
Food was good and owners were friendly and accommodating. The pricing was a bit expensive but the portions were of a good size.
Food was absolutely terrible, I can't believe I actually had to spend money on that. Sw1 in mount edgecombe is so much better.
The tastiest, best value for money sushi in KZN! The service is friendly and welcoming. Very homey and comfortable restaurant.
Great western Chinese food. The owner will make you traditional food now on the menu if you ask nicely...well worth a visit.
Beautiful, ambient, good service, friendly staff and awesome food. Generous servings, the decor and layout is stunning....
Found a blue bottle fly in my food. The owners were unfased about the matter and insisted that we paid for the food.

Good, food was ready when we arrived to pick it up, very delicious food and fresh too...very happy
I'm a vegetarian and they offered delicious dishes if you pre-booked two to three days earlier.
It's an amazing restaurant with lovely traditional Chinese food. You want sushi, check Tonhoi
Disappointing. Old and stale tasting, no effort whatsoever and take it or leave it attitude.
Cheerful, attentive service, good prices and great lunch specials! Will definitely be back.
