I was out on a group ride this morning when, to my dismay, my bike seat came off. Initially, I felt a wave of panic since I didn't have any tools with me. But then, I remembered Trek was just around the corner. I knew they were closed but opening soon, as I approached I saw employees getting ready for the day which immediately made me feel hopeful, I just needed to quickly borrow an allen wrench and knew they could help. However, I was pretty rudely turned down with a “We're closed, try somewhere else”. The result? A rather awkward ride back to my car, holding my seat the entire way. I have been getting my bike serviced at the 183 Trek but will not be going back. I'm positive at a place like Mellow Johnny's the outcome would have been different as they truly understand the essence of biking camaraderie. Stay local. Edit - I had bought bike shoes from the 183 location prior to this experience. They were making my feet numb and I decided to go see Ray after his response and see if they could help resolve this. Ray was awesome and took the time to not only help me resolve my issue but also educate me more on my bike and make some small adjustments to it to help me feel more comfortable on it. The main reason for me adjusting my review is because I did see the employee who was rude and turned me away originally helping other customers including kids and he seemed nice and good at his job. I must have just caught him on a bad morning which I know everyone has.

Originally, I gave them a 5 star review even after the poor break adjustment. I brought it back a second time and had a horrible experience. It took me literally 45 minutes to drop the bike off for service. I spent $400 to have a poor cleaning done, get the wrong tires put on, have them adjust the seat wildly so I had to go buy hex wrenches to adjust it, and get breaks so messed up that I can’t even have the front break engaged if I want to even ride. On top of all that the chain is rattling and fell off. It will be an additional $200 to have the bike repaired at another shop. After repeatedly saying that I wasn’t interested in wasting anymore time they finally offered me a refund for the poor service. I didn’t expect my bike to come back damaged when I dropped it off but at least I can afford to have it fixed now. They would have given me no warning about the $400 price tag before fixing my bike if I hadn’t asked which seems incredibly shady. I don’t know what changed since my last review but wouldn’t waste your time at this location now. Old review: Really quick and friendly service. They were able to replace a bent gear on my bike and adjust and replace the renewal perfectly. However, the break adjustment for the front tire wasn’t the best because it was rubbing against the front tire after a quick drive home.

Yesterday, after exhaustive research, I purchased my first Trek road bike, in 20 years, a 2023 Domane SL 5, Gen 4, and everything that you would need for a first class experience. Since I now live in a beautiful place, Austin Texas, where I can ride all year round, it was time to pick-up an activity, that I once loved. I called the Trek Austin, Lamar location, and Rodrigo answered. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and just as the Trek site had indicated, they had the exact color and model that I wanted. Rodrigo offered to hold the bike, until I could get down there to purchase the bike. When I got there, Rodrigo used Trek's proprietary measuring device, to confirm that I had chosen the correct size. We selected all of the "stuff" I would need, for a turn-key purchase; The best Garmin Solar computer, radar tail light, and on and on, and I left, imagining that it would take hours for the bike to be ready to pickup. I was only home a short time, and Rodrigo called and told me it was ready. Everyone at the store was very friendly and amazing. You should call this store the Zilker Park store, as it is only blocks away. Obviously, this was an expensive purchase, and Rodrigo and staff made it an enjoyable, smooth, and very satisfying experience. I will not shop anywhere else.

I was prepared to be disappointed when our locally owned Bicycle Sports Shop stores got bought out by a big corporation. Recently I have had a few interactions with Trek, Lamar. A warranty repair on my my Trek electric road bike that I had to buy from a store in Utah to get my size and color was performed while I waited. I had them package up for return a HORRIBLE electric trike my wife bought over the internet. We took a chance because there were none in local stock to try out. I am having my Trek electric road bike converted to the type of handle bars I want. So far, communication has been excellent, turnaround times excellent and prices completely fair. If anything communication and turnaround has improved with the corporate takeover. I do most of my own work but with my Trek electric I will gladly pay slightly more for shifters and hydraulic brake levers to get a complete package that Trek will stand behind. Although the size and color was not available for the electric I recently bought I received very courteous and knowledgeable assistance from a sales team member. When I do need a bike shop this looks like the one for the forseeable future. A couple of other bike shops I will not name have not met the standard that Trek, Lamar has set.

I wish this spot was still the OG Bicycle sport shop. I took my bike in and spent just shy of $400 on maintenance and repair and just picked it up, planning to ride it. One of the services that I paid for was a general clean and lube that included an inspection of the bike. It was obvious that no inspection was performed because when I got home the front brake pad was rubbing to the point where if the wheel was spun it would come to a full stop within 15 seconds. The right brake lever also was not functional at all when I initially got my hands on the just serviced bike. I spoke back and forth with the technicians and they insisted that it was this way when I brought it in, which it was not. They did an amazing job on the repair and suspension maintenance but Trek is advertising a specialty service, and I expected them to return the bike with everything functioning better, or at least (for the parts that weren't serviced) as they were when I handed the bike over to them. Overall I felt that the opinions of the technicians weren't honest and that I was being sold to more than I was being helped. I will be repairing and maintaining my bike on my own from now on.

Joey and Mikey were extremely helpful and informative! I spent several hours in the store purchasing new bikes for my daughter and I, a new hitch rack and baby seat. I had my children with me each time I was in the store, the staff was very welcoming and patient with my energetic 6 y/o and my fussy 9 month old. They installed the baby seat on my new bike and installed the hitch rack on my car for me! Overall the experience was a very positive one and I have already referred a friend who plans to purchase a bike at this store as well! ***UPDATE*** 3 months later: We absolutely love our Trek bicycles! These are very well made bikes, with Trek, you are definitely paying for quality, which makes all the difference (based on my experience thus far). My 6-year-old quickly figured out how to use the gears and cruises up even the steepest parts of the trail. Speaking of which, Austin has some amazing hike and bike trails that my children and I have been having some great adventures cycling on. It is a wonderful bonding experience, as well as a chance to get some fresh air and exercise. Hope to see y'all out there!

Zac was unbelievably awesome!! He is the true definition of “old school” customer service. I was looking for a bottle cage and bike bag, but wasn’t having much luck. He just happened to see me trying something out on my bike and said “hey, if you don’t mind, I might have a better solution for you”. He showed me a much better bag for my bike. It didn’t cost more, but worked much better. He then said “but I am not a fan of the attachments, I use velcro, I might have some extra in the back” he did and redid everything. He then checked my tires, added air (they were super low) and asked if I liked the distance of my brake gears. He measured and readjusted them and they are so so much better…that’s a guy that never sold me anything, and I only got charged for the bag! I even offered to pay for his time but he said no. Now THAT is customer service! His simple actions just got a loyal customer who has told several people about what a great experience I just had! I wish more people in this world were like Zac. An authentically genuinely good human.

I had a problem. I blew out my shock Thursday night and Friday was a ride with my brother in law, one of those once-a-year rides. I worked in a bike shop about 100 years ago so I was pretty sure that that I’d never get a shock apart, diagnosed, repaired and reassembled in time to make the ride. I also didn’t have whatever giant 69mm socket you need to pull the assembly from the stanchion. I called the South store (this is an important detail here, the South store has BOMB mechanics) when I got home at 5:50, they said to come in first thing and see Sitoshi (sorry about the spelling) – that he was the man with on the fly shock stuff. Even though he was unfamiliar with the model I have, Sitoshi got it taken down, diagnosed fixed and reassembled in about 20 minutes. Then he took the time to walk me through his repair before we settled up. Oh, and they have about a billion bikes and no less than 3 salespeople asked me if I needed any help as I wandered around waiting. Super. B!tchen. Bike. Store. Years later and still great service!

I was highly impressed with Jack and Kelly. First, Kelly was super kind and personable when I was walking her through the unique issue I was having with my bike. She took the time to listen and ask questions. She also communicated updates quickly to ensure I could get my bike back quickly. Jack had the guts and knowledge to do a frame repair that four other shops in two different states wouldn't do. Instead of having to strip the bike and send it to Trek for an expensive repair, he had the experience to do it himself. Because of that I got my bike back MUCH quicker and it cost me way less. Jack and Kelly also seem to be in the habit of going the extra mile, and not just doing the bare minimum. They took extra unnecessary but helpful steps along the way to help me get my bike riding strong. They are the kind of people I would like to work with, and if I ran a business, the type of people I would want working there. Thank you Jack and Kelly, you made a repeat customer and walking advertisement out of me!

I had to return a bike I purchased here that just wasn't for me. I was worried they were going to make it difficult, but they didn't. The 2nd bike I purchased was an phenomenal bike that fit me perfectly. A bike that when I first rode it, I experienced an indescribable feeling, so very happy I did the exchange. The store is immaculate. It's the largest showroom and 2nd largest Trek store in the world, and they have a wide selection of bikes. The people there were all approachable, friendly, and helpful. I won't try to sell you on Trek. If you get what you want with a different brand for a better price do it. In fact, I didn't want to buy a Trek because you're paying for the brand. However, now that I've found the right bike, I'm not concerned with how much I spent on it. My other Trek (Lemond) is 20 years old and despite 50k+ miles, looks like it could go another 20 years. Of course, other bikes besides Trek's also can last a long time, but if you want a Trek, this is the place.

I was nervous to bring my old schwinn bicycle for repairs; and to be honest, I felt a little ghetto with my cheap bike in a beautiful store with expensive bike on the sales floor. The staff from the minute I walked in were super helpful and not a gram of pretension from them. The guys at the repair section of the store treated my junky bike just like all the other expensive bikes and made me feel so well taken care of! When I picked up my bike, they could have changed out a whole series of items that were connected to the repair item, but they didn't! They reused all the parts that were not broken and safe to continue to use! I was so amazed on how professional and really understanding of costs to the common person! This is a perfect example of how customer service should be in our modern world! If I have the money to replace my bike in the future, I will only go to them! I wish I could give them extra stars!

Every person we spoke with or who helped us was friendly, talented and kind. We walked our three bikes down the street after they were dirty and damaged from the Snowpoccalypse Flood February 17, 2021. They fixed all three perfectly, yet because we were living in the Holiday Inn Express in NW Austin for 10 weeks, we had nowhere to take them. We finally moved in to our new place (not nearby anymore) but still could not pick them up for two weeks because our place was full of boxes and no furniture and our yard was all just mud. They told us ‘no problem’ we could keep them there as long as necessary...and NO charge! We finally got them the other day after renting a U-Haul pick up and having a place to keep them in our new apartment - 3 months later. Go TREK - True Austinites and AmeriCANS! Thank you!!! We can’t wait to ride. :)

Edit: Updated from 1 to 5 stars. My bike came in and the staff more than made up for the delays. Staff apologized and generously provided me with some much-needed accessories (I’m a cycling newbie). Meagan even baked me a beautiful (and delicious) birthday cake - and gave me information on upcoming classes for new women riders. Ryan checked out my bike rack to make sure it was up to par before getting on the road. I’m very happy overall and would definitely recommend Trek Bikes on South Lamar. Thanks guys! I ordered a bike on 2/28 to have arrived 3/28, that was pushed out to 4/11. No one seems to know where my bike is or when it will arrive. “It’s on it way - you’ll be riding this weekend!”. The weekend is here and no bike. No birthday present for me, I guess! So disappointed with Trek Bikes. Would not recommend.

Great experience buying my latest, and probably 9th bike from Trek in Austin (previously bicycle sport shop). Mackay was great, really enjoyed working with him on this. His knowledge of the new Fuel EX-e 9.8XT was solid and he was able to answer all my questions. He helped me find the exact bike I was looking for, even though these are in short supply right now. He kept me informed during the ordering / shipping / delivery / build process. Carl stepped in when Mackay was out for a day off and helped me ensure the bike was set-up properly and to my needs and specs. Overall, I am very happy Trek Bikes exists in Austin. They are a great shop, dedicated to providing great products, but more importantly, great guidance, information, service and support. Trek and Mackay are highly recommended.

I visited the Trek store on Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas to purchase a new road bike. I’m new to the cycling world and Ray went above and beyond all of my expectations today! I explained that I really wasn’t sure what kind of bike I was looking for. He was very patient in asking questions, to help him gauge the type of bicycle I needed. Once we found it, he took the time to explain all of the components and different gears and how to work them. He measured me and had me test ride the bike to ensure it was the right size. I can’t help but say, he was an exceptional associate and Trek is very lucky to have him represent their brand and their store!!! Go visit them in Austin! All of the store associates were just as friendly and welcoming. Shout out to Ray, Patrick and Oliver.

Great customer service! I was looking to get back into road biking after a few years, and they listened to my requirements, constraints, and expectations. The process from looking at bikes, testing the bikes, and purchasing a bike was incredibly smooth. Three weeks later, I came in for a minor repair after noticing that my front derailleur was not shifting. As it turns out, the front derailleur was working just fine, as it was just a minor fluke on my part. No repairs were needed, but the fact that they spent the time to address my issue is another example of their great customer service. To top it off, they even cleaned and lubed my chain for no additional cost! I will continue to go back to them for all my cycling needs. Y'all are the best! Thank you!

  • Steven Prata

Horrible experience. My bike was returned in worse shape than when I brought it in. Damage to arm cups (Tri bike), rear disc breaks rubbing when returned, didn’t fix ghost shifting issue (applied firmware to di2 and just assumed it was fixed), and claimed to have bled the brakes but didn’t check to confirm softness in brakes was fixed, and my bottom bracket is grainy and not smooth at all (a new issue that was introduced during whatever they did). When I reported the issues, the store manager emailed with me back and asked that I bring the bike back in. Why on earth would I bring my bike back in with the amount of issues caused. So basically I paid $295 to have my bike messed up.

  • Ali Krugr

The manager right now is fantastic. I do think the previous management has been messed up. First year had to be disappointingly horrible to me and the district manager had been even more non supportive. This company has been destroying local bicycle shops for years. They took up a residency to try and be apart of the Austin bicycle community for two years but no one likes them. Trek bikes needs to stay in Wisconsin where it belongs. The owner cares little of the people that work there unless your a manager and if you ask for support they will devalue your argument. The owner of this company should just find a job at Walmart so they can spread this guide sales process.

I purchased a new Trek gravel bike several weeks ago. About two weeks later I was climbing a tough hill and the chain literally broke, not at the quick link. I was quite worried that I possibly messed up the chain ring or derailleur on my shiny new bike. Thankfully they helped immediately the very next morning. Casey looked the bike over and said it was the best possible outcome, no damage. He slapped on a upgraded chain and then commenced to adjusting things that needed some attention and even cleaned it up a bit. On top of all this he was very interested in educating me on a few things I was not aware of. Kudos to Casey on the awesome service.

I Came here to replace my handlebar (hydo disk break) and . The shop running very sufficient, good customer service. until: 1. they didn’t meet promised delivery. 2. Breaks wasn’t bleeds properly 3. I understand they have all the prices listed, but man, they can find anything to charge. I’m from the Bay Area, and I can tell you they don’t charge labor to replace stem @ $20. 4. They don’t communicate how much it is until it’s done, I asked but they said “we let you know when we are done” 5. They make me wait, for them to do some adjustment. I should charge them for my time. 6. Cable rearranged sloppy job. Im NOT HAPPY with their work

  • Ethan Gostisha

I have lived in Austin for my entire life and for as long as i know my father would take me to this store and i would always have great time, i was always greeted and respected by the employee's and i highly recommend there services to anyone. Even now when i walk into the store i am greeted by very smart and knowledgeable employees that would enjoy nothing more than to help me with any problems i may have encountered on my rides. They offer a wide selection of bikes, and they also have a running section of the store furthermore enhancing the customer experience . I love this place and they will always have my business 11/10 :)

Rented a road bike (Emonda SL5 Disc SL) from Trek Bicycle Lamar while in town for the F1 USGP at COTA, and had such a great experience. My bike was ready for pickup when we arrived, and the shop added on a saddle bag & lights + made minor fit adjustments before we left (saddle height, etc). Easy to get to from the Austin airport, and no issues with pickup or drop-off. Very friendly, efficient, and a pleasure to speak with! The store itself is massive - great selection of bikes for multiple disciplines, a large service center, and plenty of goods for retail sale - will absolutely use Trek Lamar for rentals again in the future.

  • Ian Hallett

James was super helpful in getting me the parts and advice that I needed to service my own suspension! It was the type of service that I used to go to Bicycle Sport Shop for - professional mechanics helping amateur mechanics - and I figured that it would just disappear after a corporate purchase of a local bike shop so I have never really returned to this location since the sale. I was very pleasantly surprised by the reception that I received in service and can now confidently recommend this store as a place to send anyone - experienced or not - for help with their current bike or buying a new one!

  • Alex Klingelberger

I went in to the store on August 24 in the early afternoon. I was shopping in the Lamar store for a last-minute birthday gift for my girlfriend on very short notice. I just wanted to compliment Amber with your sales team. She did an outstanding job helping me pick out a bike and accessories, helped expedite the bike configuration for me, and was just generally a pleasure to work with. Kudos to her and your staff for a very smooth and enjoyable experience. My girlfriend really loves the bike and kit. I expect to also be a return customer in the near future to get setup for my own bike. Best, Alex

  • Robin Luck

I went into Trek on Lamar to pick up my reserved bike and McKay assisted me. It was my birthday gift and I was wanting this bike to resemble a rainbow just like my very first bike! McKay went way above and beyond to help me create my bike! He made the experience so fun and his creativity was fantastic! Loved, loved loved my experience! I also want to shout out to Zach at Parmer for assisting me even after hours to educate me on all my options then assisting me in locating my bike selections! Trek has been amazing!! I could not have asked for a better experience for my Birthday!! Thank you Trek!

  • Nate “mauvehed” Sanders

I was a long time customer of Bicycle Sport Shop before Trek bought them. At first I was worried that the shop moving to a specific brand may be an issue, however, I quickly discovered that a vast amount of BSS employees stayed on to work under the new brand. These are by far some of the greatest people in Austin. I had the best experience and must have worked with at least 4 or 5 of them by now. All have been wonderfully knowledgeable and very friendly. While there's a global shortage on bikes, this was my first Trek experience and I must say I am THRILLED with what they have to offer!

  • Daniel Christenson

As I’ve said in other reviews. I have never encountered a bad bike shop. These are not like auto shops or insurance companies where you have to be selective. Due to slim profit margins people who own or work in bike shops because they love bikes and not to get rich. Nevertheless there are struggles. It’s hard to find knowledgeable people willing to work for the wages on offer. TBL has managed to find mechanics competent to do more than a simple tune up, and sales people who don’t mansplain. Not easy. Kudos on them. That’s not to say there won’t be glitches. It’s a hard game.

  • Yvette McGinty

While I am sure you have a building full of great people working for you; Brett and Matt made my experience on 08/27/21 awesome. Brett confirmed my son’s bike needed a new tire and help me pick the right one based on the type of riding he most often does.Matt (I didn’t get his last name) not only replaced the tire in about 15 minutes, but took the time to educate me on the proper psi range of the tubeless tire and how to handle any punctures. I really appreciated it because we are new to tubeless tires. I walked out feeling great. Thank you guys!

  • Andre Alvarado

Yesterday was the first time I took my bike into trek for anything other than a tube change, Kelly was my service tech and she was awesome starting from the introduction, to explaining and breaking down my wants with what they had and what they can do. Kelly also was pointing out whatever she was explaining to me which was awesome since I don't have much knowledge behind the mechanics of my bike. I definetly recommend the staff was very great as well they greeted me by name and did the same as I left. You all are doing a good job

  • Markus Neubauer

I came here looking for a quick and easy pair of bibs and a helmet — specifically a matte black road helmet. Oliver got me squared away real quick with a helmet that was in fact matte black, and he especially recommended one that's a more flattering and modern shape. I was in and out of the store in no time flat and then I came back the next morning for the Sunday group taco road ride. Thank you guys for the tacos and the killer group ride — and thank you Oliver for getting me setup and riding. I'm new to Austin and I'll definitely be back!

  • Ben Dagenhart

The service at South Lamar and Parmer locations are both second to none. I originally purchased a Trek Marlin 8, after a week I was in love with biking again as if I was back in my 20's. Decided I wanted to upgrade to a nicer frame and components. The store handled the swap for a Procaliber without hesitation. The mechanics were swamped, I was told it would be build the next day. Walked out the door happy but to my surprise, I get a call 3 hrs later stating the build is complete and ready for pick up! Great experience, awesome bikes. 10/10!

  • Joey Thomas

Updated review - after an issue ordering a part, I spoke with the service department and they explained the issue openly, understood where I was coming from and offered to more than make up for the delay. After this encounter I really think their minds are in the right place of helping customers and Austin cyclists. You can really tell they are committed to improvements with their current renovations as well. We are lucky to have a helpful great local bike shop and I hope to see them continue to be successful and visit them in the future.

  • Erin O'Brien

Not great!! Awful experience asking about installing in-line levers. Neither employee knew what I was talking about and actually argued with me about it and wouldn't let me leave the conversation. Ive worked at a bike shop so I can spot a scammy inventory... No basic options so isn't a helpful stop in 'emergencies' either (flats, etc.) Not transparent about services as to keep their customers ill-informed and coming back. Bike farm, clown dog, and the peddler have all been nice respectful experiences so I really would stick to those.

  • Yvan Valasse

Excellent! Zack and team were super helpful, advised on routes as I visited Austin for work... made even sure I stayed hydrated on my first ride out their shop. They take bike rentals super seriously and thoroughly checked that everything was up to scratch before I set off. They also offer last-resort pick up if you get a tricky mechanical on the road, which is very appreciated (luckily not needed this time around!). Would highly recommend and will definitely come back when in town! I rented a Trek Emonda 58, Shimano 105, 28mm tyres.

  • Edith Burch

These guys helped us buy a bike for a child as a present with out her being there. The return policy was perfect since we were not positive what size she needed. After we tried the first bike and realized it was too small, we returned it the next day and went home with the perfect size bike that was an even better color for her preference. Even during covid19 shutdown, we were able to make a little girl very happy to have a "gear bike". Thanks BSS for great customer service under difficult circumstances. We are happy customers!

  • Maggie Huebner

I have been a long-time bicycle sports shop customer. When I took my bike in for some small adjustments, I was pretty nervous. While I had to wait in a reception area for a few minutes, there was coffee and water available (as well as a bathroom). Mathew, who has serviced my bikes before, greeted me at the service desk. He provided the same great service I came to expect from BSS. My bike is purring now! Give Trek a try, it looks to me like they've enhanced a few things but left the great people and service in place.

  • Andrew White

Trek bikes Lamar is your one stop shop for all your cycling needs. everything from road riding to mountain biking, they have what you need. After some extensive online searching, drove from San Antonio to Austin as they had the exact bike i was looking for. Carl set the bike aside and when i arrived, ensured it was tailor fit to me. He then gave me all the info on the bike and ensured i was up to speed before i walked out the door. great customer service and great products. cant recommend highly enough! Thanks Carl!

  • Bruno Perez

I had an awesome experience purchasing my last Bike from Trek Bicycle Lamar. Erick(hope I spelled his name right) was great, super knowledgeable, kind and very helpful giving me and my wife the right advise for us on what to purchase even with the equipment and apparel. Never fell pushed or that he was trying to make me spend more, on the contrary with a couple of the items I purchased he even advise me to go with something cheaper than what I originally picked because it was a better fit for me. Thank you!!

  • Steve Gurney

We used the lime bikes and scooters in Austin for a bit however you are restricted from riding on lady bird trail and some of the pedestrian walkways. We stumbled into this shop that has a wide variety of high end bikes. My wife loved the pedal assist trek and I have a nice mtb for 2 days this was our primary transportation with locks and helmets I would recommend this to anyone visiting austin as a great way to get around. Zac in the shop provided great customer service and recommended some great rides.

  • Jef Maukel

So impressed with the service. Had a tune-up a while back and felt like the staff member really took their time to go through everything and talk about things to consider. Last time had a spoke issue and Nate noticed a bubble in my tire (that I don't know how I missed, it was substantial). They didn't have my tire in stock, but later that night I got a message from him that he had reached out to the supplier and picked one up that evening and could put it on while they had it. Really above and beyond.

  • Hudson Davis-Ross

Big shout out to Carl and Ray, in particular Carl! I had a few issues with my Trek bike's pedals (I was originally given the wrong type of pedal from a different Trek store) and Carl resolved it free of charge but also swiftly with care. About 2 months later, I felt like my frame size was sized incorrectly from start so when I asked Carl if I could exchange my 58 to a 56 size, he said of course. All set and done -- Carl and Ray were super patient. I'm a Trek rider for live now. Thank you guys!

  • Greg Porter

This is my second visit to Trek in a different location. The associates have consistently taken my budget into consideration while thoroughly explaining my options. They provided discounts when available, and they made me feel like I was the only customer in the store. Staff is always quick to greet customers with a smile and a willingness to help. I truly appreciate the outstanding quality of service and products Trek provides. I look forward to my next return.

  • Mark L. Clark

This store rocks! I only wish this Trek Store was back in NC. Great customer service!! I was greeted by two smiling faces who directed me to I think, Addie. A true gem! She helped educate me on getting my back wheel on. She was patient with me and very caring in her manner without speaking down to me. She even fixed a loose derailleur before I knew I had a problem. Hard to find great customer service anymore, but I found it at Trek Bicycles Lamar. Thanks again!

Was a time I frequented this place liking the staff and environment. It’d been about 5 years since last visit. Things have changed drastically. Greeted at door with gentleman who assigned me a salesperson. Got walked to bike I wanted to look at. Within first two minutes was asked multiple times closing questions. The two I talked with were polite but… This is now a hard core car dealership. I left within 3 minutes. Upsetting how much this place has changed.

I recently bought a bike for my wife's birthday and Isiah at the Lamar location was beyond excellent. I shopped their first, went to 3 other stores, and made my way back to Trek to buy the bike because of Isiah. He was very knowledgeable, presented a few choices, and help me narrow down the perfect bike for her. He is a talented "purchase counselor" and not a bike salesman. He definitely had my needs in mind and stayed on budget. Can't thank Isiah enough.

  • Michael Nelson

Rented two eBike’s with the help of Zac. Everything was great being a cyclist of 40 years now I am pleased to find that when in Austin (my first visit) I can get a bike fitted properly and professionally setup. He went the extra mile with everything including our reservation and making sure we had the little things such as lights spare tube lock and tool kit. If I was in the market here to buy a bike or just wanting to rent see Zac at Trek bicycle Lamar.

  • DEBORAH LYNNE

New to Austin and came to this shop to buy a helmet for a child. Three store employees looked at me standing there for 20 minutes without offering any assistance. Finally I approached an employee who appeared surprised that I actually might need help but did assist me. A nice helpful guy did show me a couple of bike rack options but overall a very lackluster experience. I bought the helmet but went elsewhere for a bike rack. Wouldn't bother coming back.

  • Evelin Lisboa

I had an amazing experience at this bike store. The sales person Taylor was so helpful, friendly and resourceful. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in helping me find the perfect bike for my needs. The selection of bikes was impressive, and the prices was great I got a great discount. I also appreciated the quick and efficient bike maintenance service they provided. Overall, a fantastic place for all your biking needs.

  • Janssen Redcay

I had my bike shipped from my bike shop in Sandy Springs, GA to “Trek Bicycle Lamar” in preparation for a 1,000mi ride back to Atlanta, GA. The communication from start to me departing Austin were amazing. The day after I picked up my bike, I was out for a preparation/test ride. I needed assistance with a last minute adjustment. The service team was able research & adjust my bike without question. I’m glad I chose “Trek Bicycle Lamar”!

  • Richard E. Pilcher II

My experience at Trek Bicycle Lamar was great! Everyone was extremely helpful and courteous. I had several modifications and services to my bike and they did an amazing job. I'm more than pleased with the results. I have a slight older bike that need a facelift and now it looks like a brand new bike. I got new tires, handle grips, kickstand, saddle, and handle bar stem. I will definitely return for future services and products!

  • Clay Womack

Great professional service from my sales guy Taylor. Very knowledgeable on his products, non-pushy but comprehensive suggestions on add-ons/upsells, reinforced my expectations and reasons for buying yet another Trek. I bought all my kids (9) mountain bikes from this store over the years to add to my still weekly ridden 1983 Trek 850 mountain bike :). Looking forwards to years more enjoyment on my new Trek Top Fuel!

  • Motor Head

I rented a bike from here to ride around Town Lake. Great staff and fast check out. They also have a masive collection of bikes. The bike I rented was awesome I might pick one up to ride to and from work. The return of the bike was a drag. I waited 20 minutes without service and I was passed up by some of the staff. I considered leaving the bike and walking out but I didn't want the possibility of extra charges.

  • Mister Sandman

Trek of Austin/Lamar is an awesome bike store. Their selection and service are second to none. Patrick went to great lengths and spent a ton of time with us in order to ensure that my son and I ended up with exactly the right bikes for our needs. We drove four hours to visit this location, and would definitely do it all over again. We are already looking forward our next trip up there. Thanks for everything!!!

  • William Powers

Amazing bike shop!! I had a derailleur issue and Ray, Nate and the entire service department went above and beyond at every step to get me riding as fast as possible. They did not ask me to write this but I have to say that service this exemplary should be called out - the whole team is just fantastic and I'm so glad they are here, I will be coming back for all future bike and service needs. Thanks again!!!

  • Migel Alvarez

Atom (Adam) was very nice and SUPER HELPFUL. He gave me a great experience and helped me find the EXACT bike for my needs. It felt great to have someone so knowledgeable help me in finding the perfect ride. I more than likely will go back to TREK as I already trusted the brand, but Atom helped me truly understand the logistics and specs I was looking for. Loving my bike, and very grateful!

  • Rusty Brockmann

Trek Lamar provided me with a Trek “Slash” mountain bike for a three day rental. When I called to ask about the rental they were super helpful, answering all my questions. The online rental form was concise easy to fill out. Zach delivered and picked up the bikes too. I will definitely rent again from Trek Bicycle Lamar. Thanks for helping to make my trip to Austin a blast! RT Brockmann

  • Michael Toll

This store is amazing! We were on a cross country bike camping trip and blew up the rear derailleur and bent the derailleur hanger right as we got into town. Not only did they have the parts in stock, they also had the skills to bend the derailleur hanger back and get the bike working again! They completed all of this within 24 hours. Absolutely amazing, thanks you so much Trek Store!

  • michael park

I'm new to cycling but this will be my 3rd Trek bike in 3 years (unfortunately had the first 2 stolen). I was very happy with each bike I've had. This 3rd bike is my first purchase via a Trek store and the staff were all awesome! Super knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Ray and Taylor were especially pivotal in helping me make my decisions in which bike and accessories I purchased.

  • Greg Hill

I am a new to mountain biking. I just picked up the new 2021 Stumpjumper. I had a small mishap and BSS made it RIGHT immediately with no questions asked. Their decision was based on how quickly they could get me back out riding vs. time and cost. It is hard to find that kind of customer service these days. If you need to speak to a true expert in the field ask for Kimmi, she ROCKS!

  • Speling Champ

Best bike shop in ATX- went in w/ a broken derailleur and hanger- they were very through in showing me what went wrong w/ my bike- they also explained it in a way where I was able to understand since I’m just beginning to get into biking- I didn’t feel overwhelmed at all, this is great spot for beginners and pros alike- Go see the team at Trek Lamar, you’ll be glad you did!

  • Dylan Pool

This place is awesome! Great selection of bikes and equipment. Isaiah helped us out from start to finish and made the experience. He educated us and found the right bikes and products that suited our needs and desires. He definitely was the reason we came back the next day to purchase another bike for my girlfriend! Highly recommend anyone to come in and ask for Isaiah!!

  • G L (GLL)

Epic. Flew in from CO, had a bike waiting (excellent bike, and Emonde as i recall), got hugly hooked up by Zac on the fit, and rolled 45 miles of hill country! SO good. Would rent again in a heartbeat - pedal choices, fresh helmets, lights; all the things. Pro Tip: it gets absolutely hot af in Austin, but Zac dialed the issue with three water bottles and all was good.

  • Puneeth Kumar

My friend referred me to this store, I’ve had the best experience in buying my bike. Bikes were great, there’s a huge collection of which you could try before you buy. Manager had been really co-operative. Issaiah, helped me with my purchase, he was helpful and understanding with my opinion.Good attitude that makes me want to come back to the store again.

  • Tammy Perez

Absolutely amazing place. Everyone is always friendly and extremely helpful, whether you're a pro or a casual rider. They've gone above and beyond every time I've been in and I've never left unhappy. Even fixed up my grandson's scooter for him and got it in working order when we showed up as a last-resort solution. Hands-down best bike shop in town.

  • Will Godwin

TREK Store still has lots of the Bicycle Sport Shop staff and the vibe of a Bicycling Community. My sprocket fell off a mile out on a ride last week. I dreaded taking it in to Trek Store thinking I'd be told I needed a new bike.... CAN-DO Service tech succussfully got broken bolt out of bracket and, for under $5 for new bolts, I was riding again.

  • David Armstrong

Everyone knows that Trek makes quality bikes of all types. The Trek Lamar staff are all just excellent. Katie has always been amazing to me. Atom was a huge help in making my most recent purchase. Carl and Ray were outstanding when I need help this weekend. Everyone else is friendly and welcoming in the store. You just have a great staff there.

  • Michael Carter

My TREK bicycle needed serviced really bad.. When I brought my bike in, I was assisted immediately by the service team and they were able to answer every question I had/ Very educated and passionate about what they do. I got my bike back in 48 hours and it looked 100 times better than when I brought it in. I highly recommend this location!

  • Duane Preiss

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Ray was very helpful in walking me through the different Trek models I was considering when I walked through the door and helped me confirm my decision to go with the Emonda. I really enjoyed the personal service and the willingness to listen and discuss the different options available to me.

  • Araceli Espinoza

amazing customer service and really knowledgeable and friendly staff (rigo is great)! spent more time than expected geeking out on bikes and different models, accessories, and trek travel (mind blown). great experience- no pushy salespeople, just folks that are passionate about cycling sharing their love and knowledge of the sport.

  • Jeff Achtermann

Had a great shopping experience at Trek Bicycle. Tom was awesome helping my son find the right size mountain bike and locating one in the color he wanted. My son is very happy with the bike. Tom and other staff members were also very helpful picking out accessories and having them installed on the bike. So glad we found this store.

  • Jason Vanderslice

Both of the people that helped me did so with extreme knowledge, speed, and care. I was attended to while waiting, and most importantly the installation of new wheels/tires was the highest quality I’ve ever had. They even cleaned my dirty bike! I left with a smile on my face and proceeded to have one of the best rides of my life!

  • Bill Rimmer

Looks like a great place but the service “any bike, any brand” claim is ….. FALSE. Call ahead to check if they will service your brand. They refused both MATE and LECTRIC brand bikes I brought in for brake adjustments, saying they do not service any component of these brands. They couldn’t explain why, other than company policy.

  • Robert VanHover

Took my stache 5 in for loose wheel & major service. I was greeted right away and they had all the parts in stock. Service was prompt and communication was great with texting. My bike is back to its original form. Service I chose included a thorough cleaning. Well worth it. Thanks for being very professional and knowledgeable.

  • Victoria

the bikes are great, bought mine and went to ick up at another location cause i couldn’t wIt to go riding, LOL. Service was great. guy was very knowledgable and was able to answer all of my questions. I did purchase a bike but got to other store and fell in love with a beautiful purple Roscoe 6 and just upgraded. Thanks Trek

  • Tara Stewart

I rented a mountain bike from Trek. It was a great experience from beginning to end. I worked with Zac. He went out of his way to help with everything from finding the right bike for me, fitting it, and making sure it was a good experience. I highly reccomend this location. We will definitely be using it in the future!

  • SM

Shout out to Zac at TBL! I’ve been on a bike maybe 2 times in my life and decided to rent one while visiting Lady Bird Lake. We rented a hybrid. Zac gave me some safety tips, gear education (?) and was enthusiastic about the whole process. Also, met a cute dog in the store. Great bikes, awesome equipment, kind staff!

  • Steph Long

I've been bringing my bikes to this shop for a long time but today proved why! The service staff is super friendly and helpful. My bike was ready way faster than expected! Everyone here wants to see you happy about your service and your purchase and their inventory. I would suggest this bike shop without hesitation!

  • Benjamin Dornbush

Checked out a great selection of ebikes and while I still have more research to do I’m particularly impressed with the price point, quality and in-store service. Rigo was exceptional to learn from and explore options. His wealth of knowledge from everything bikes to automobiles was astounding! Thanks Rigo and Trek!

  • Tori Karst

My husband and I came in today to get literally everything for our new bikes. We were greeted right away and Tom helped us with EVERYTHING! He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made our experience so easy- especially being new to the bike scene. Would 10/10 recommend this store. Tom was amazing.

  • Melissa “Shoeless” Engquist

The staff here always help me figure out what I need. I'm new to the Trek experience and they have made me feel like a pro every time I come in. Thanks for your patience for a 55+ woman trying to get into the game. Better late than never! I will continue to choose your store and its knowledgeable staff.

  • Tim McFadden

The people at TREK Lamar are always accommodating and have been exceptional in their goal to please and help find solutions to problems. They have always gone above and beyond in sales and service. They will be my bike shop for all my needs. Super happy with my bike purchase and service experiences.

  • Jasmine Stokes

I’ve brought bikes in here for maintenance and picked up a few accessories for my new road bike the other day. Everyone is always so attentive and I love that I can just trust things are being handled happily while I shop for way too many new toys I don’t need . Love this cycling gem on S Lamar

  • Jay Thomas

Had a great experience chatting with Dino on the phone. He walked me through a lot of my questions regarding buying a bike, and what to consider. He was super calm and didn't rush me off the phone. Appreciated his help! Will definitely be coming by this store more my maintenance work!

  • Raul “Zeps” Z

Just go there. The place is clean, spacious, this place is definitely a destination for not just trek enthusiasts, but all cycling nuts. Thanks Zac, I appreciate the service the patience and care you took with out bike rental and purchases. We had a great night at COTA bike night.

  • Bill Burton

Great, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous staff … super clean service area in a beautiful, cool bike shop. Bicycle Sports Shop has been around forever — definitely “Old Austin” — and you cannot beat its location and, as is so important in our town, FREE PARKING, lots of it.

  • Ryan Evans

The entire sales team at Trek Lamar is amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable across the board. I ended up buying 2 bikes this week from Carl as well as a bunch of accessories. The entire process very easy and the entire team helped answered any questions that I had.

  • Alex Tkachuk

Griffin and Carl were super to me today. Griffin always gives great advice and treats my bike so well with service. I have my choice of bike shops around town, and my customer service experience with those two will have me coming back. Thanks for the flat clinic today!

  • Laurin R

Great experience for kids bike service. From walking in the door, the staff were super friendly. Service shop was able to fix my daughter's flat bike in only a short amount of time since she had a bike club ride that afternoon. Very happy with my experience there!

  • Jeff Perry

ZAC in the Rental department is awesome. I’ve been thinking about getting back into biking, but how do you choose!? Road? Gravel? Oh the unlimited options. Zac was up for some super informational conversation that led me to a few day bike rental. Amazing service!

  • Jason A

Bought an e-bike from here. Salesperson had one of their own and were knowledgeable about it to answer my many questions. Shop has most everything you need on hand except trailers. Repair shop looks capable. You can rent bikes here too to try before you buy.

  • Taylor Kirk Adams

The products are so well made and I’m head over heels in love with my Electra Townie Path 9d. The best part of shopping with you guys was the service! The team members I’ve been able to interact with (Zac and Katie) are so genuinely kind and patient.

  • Griff Davis

high quality with enough choices. The gentleman who took care of me, Carl I believe, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He listened to me and got the nuance of what my needs were. I would buy from Lamar Trek again just because of him. A pro.

  • Ryan Weggler

Best customer experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in until I left over an hour later. Everyone super knowledgeable and friendly! Never felt so good about spending so much money in my life. Thanks James, Alex, Tom, Taylor, and Ray!

  • DrZee

Good experience on my first time there. I can tell it's a popular bike shop due to the customer traffic when they opened first thing in the morning. Went there for service on my elliptigo but next time, I will go there for e bike information.

  • Felix Alicea

Carl is my preferred sales person, his attitude and attention to detail will keep my business there. Steven on your maintenance/service is my preferred mechanic, always ready to improve my cycling experience by keeping my bikes in top shape.

  • Ben Jewell

It was after hours and I was experiencing bike issues in the heavy rain and you opened your doors for me to drop off my bike... far and away some of the best customer service I've experienced in retail. Mitchell and the gang in the service

  • Ash Atwood

Loved this place! I called beforehand to see if they had a specific bike trailer, and Gwen knew right away what was in stock. When I came into the store she gave me some great tips about setting it up. Just a lovely experience all around.

  • ECanady

I unfortunately forgot the name of the guy helping me out but he did a phenomenal job. Encouraged me on some sweet kit and got me onto the perfect bike for my day. He gave me some route options and great pointers on local spots to check

  • ThatFoolPoKiE

Y'all had his bike for 3 months did no repair and then tried to charge him $70 for a tire change that never happened! Worst customer service experience I have ever heard of. The audacity to still charge him for no service being done and

I moved to Austin a couple years ago with my eBike Ruby and Trek folk and services have been outstanding! Their Service and Customize departments had everything I needed over that time to keep me rolling. Check it out. Bowing Sensei
