The restaurant looks run down, with taped down, sticky floors. The seating is comfortable. When we came in, the restaurant was empty and freezing cold. A woman came over and put a patio heater near our seats, but my feet froze for the duration of thr meal. Our server was personable and patient, with us being pretty new to Nigerian food. Many of the menu items were unavailable when we visited. The menu prices are not what's reflected on the check. After you eat, they tell you that the menu prices are not current. No cups of water are served...when you ask for water, you get a $2 bottle of Poland Spring. The food was not good. The okra soup was bland...just pulverized okra. The jollof rice was cold and bland. The chicken was hard with no meat on the bones. The goat was tough and undercooked. The goat pepper soup was flavorful but I could barely eat the meat because of how hard to chew it was. Overall, it was a terrible experience and a waste of almost $70, just for me to have to go eat somewhere else. I will never return.

So let me start by saying that I love African food. I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to travel extensively throughout Africa. So, when I found an African restaurant that had peppered snail, I was excited. I called the restaurant and asked if they had peppered snail, I drove from New Jersey up to New York after ensuring so. Once in New York, they called me back and told me that they weren’t going to make it anymore because it took too much work and the cook didn’t feel like it. The person then said that he had my number from the caller ID and would call me back later to let me know if the cook felt like making it. Fast forward to today, I called them back because they didn’t call me last night and I asked if they had the peppered snail and I was placed on hold only for the person to tell me the cook said they weren’t going to make it. He told me he had my number and would call me back if she decided to make it. At this point, I asked what kind of restaurant this was because they definitely have things on the menu and even though it’s in stock, the “cook doesn’t feel like making it” and that blows my mind. Horrible attitudes & horrible customer service.

I loved all..we went like a Sunday night, so it was quiet.. but that only added for personal service and conversation for date night with my companion. Food was on point! I will say if you can't eat spicy note to ask about the spice. The joloff rice was good but ...but overall, I highly recommend the fried rice as an alternative along with the roast chicken. I was glad I had the option of the hard fowl or regular Purdue kind... Best was my server/bartended.. most friendly and accommodating..can't wait to go back, but my word for their menu experience is authentic....Go give your taste buds a workout!

The place was very dusty and empty, with less than 5 things on the menu, the portion size was very poor. A lot of carbs (3cups rice) and 1 piece of tripe, 1 piece cow feet and 4 pieces of goat (mixed meat) The rice was burnt and tasted like smoke, but the meat was good. The goat was too HARD AND TOUGH. The goat pepper soup meat was so hard. I had to throw it out. I asked for a shot of ciroc and it was $15 lol lol lol. Insane.. it was over priced and though the server was ok she must be very new because she didn't know much. She also looked dirty and unprofessional. She looks like a family that was just visiting and helping out. This was a very bad experience.

We came in with high expectations, but unfortunately we were disappointed. We ordered one coca cola, one chicken entree, and one order of fried plantains. The chicken was mostly skin and came in a paper plate, and the plantains were dry. The entree was supposed to come with fufu as stated on the menu, but when we asked the waitress about the fufu she told us it was $2 extra. When it was time to pay, she told us it was only cash and gave us prices different from the menu. When we asked about the change of price, she told us that the menu was wrong. There are many other delicious Nigerian restaurants in NYC. I don't suggest coming here.

  • Gia Sterling

It was a horror story. I dont know where to start. From the long wait to even get someone to attend to us was about a 30 minute wait Then after ordering the meal another 25 minutes wait. To top insult with injury, I was served my meal without cutlery. I had to request a fork and knife. But, was handed a fork and spoon. Never again! A waste of my time, energy and funds. The food was delicious, but the customer service received a grade of F! I would prefer to patronize other establishments oppose to this one. They new restructuring and re-organization of the work ethics of employees. Thumbs down!

  • Papa Pierre

Just came here with my wife and kids. No matter how misbehaving my daughter was acting it did not mess up the amazing taste of this food. We had the goat soup, foo foo, plantains, fowl chicken . My soul WAS FED. This is true African food made with love. Our waitress was amazing and the host was amazing. She helped us with the menue well mannered. If you hear anything bad about this place it's a lie. The tables were clean and nicely set up. The bathroom was clean and a sink that came in handy that was next to our table. I am definitely coming back... Our money is good here.

  • Ola-Albert Ologun

Pros: Great place to hang out. Must have a lot of time. No rush. Our server slender and average height was smart, quick and responsive. Food very delicious. It can be altered to taste just ensure you specified to your serve you needs. A bar is available. Great atmosphere to hangout with friends and significant other.. Food can be spicy so bring on the heat in you. Cons: They do not serve water on the house. Available for purchase @ $1 each bottle. Their electronic payment system is not reliable or may not be working. Bring CASH. Overall 7 out of a possible 10...

I called on the 22nd of September, 2021 at 8:41pm. They close at 9pm so I called ahead just to enquire if they had not stopped selling before they closed. A man picked up, yelled at me saying what sort of question am I asking him at this time. I'm Nigerian too and wonder why he would speak to me in this manner, and if this is how he speaks to other non Nigerians too. Really embarassing to say the least. I've attached a screenshot of the number. And I should add, this is my first time here.

The place is a big place that need a lot of TLC. It was freezing outside and inside the day that I went.. I waited over twenty minutes for the food and it was only two other person there waiting for their food when it came out it was cold and bad presentation. They took it back and warm it up in the microwave. The food is quite expensive so why the food is not fresh plus descent looking. Only plus is the guy that took the oderwas very friendly and helpful.

Please avoid this restaurant at all costs because they will frustrate your life. Not only is the customer service terrible, but they also keep switching your order and sending unsealed food. The two plates of rice I ordered today both came unsealed and this is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes when you order carrot cake, they give you red velvet instead or when you order fried rice they give you jollof. I have tried to be patient with this restaurant but I honestly don't see myself ordering from here anymore.

  • Jude Owumi

Worse dinning experience ever. I wish that I had read the reviews before going to this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. The waiter was answering the phone while taking our order. The wait staff are rude and unprofessional. The manager is a sorry excuse for a manager. The food is horrible and unappealing to the eyes. The premise is very dirty. My order was messed up twice. To add insult to injury, the wait staff tells you at the last minute that they only take cash. No credit card. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS DUMP.

  • Mildred Small

It was a great experience. Food was new to me. I enjoyed it. I had a really nice conversation with the waitress. Originally I stopped by to try a dish that included fufu. Unfortunately they didn't have any but I got some fried croaker and spinach stew with plantains and beans. I should have dined in but I took it to go. I certainly would make a return visit.

I'm not sure what this establishment is, I went in and it looks like a dance club however it's open as a restaurant. Me and my companion sat down to order food and happy hour drink specials, it took over 20 mins for someone to come and tell us they ran out of chicken and they not serving drink specials even though they advertise. What!!! Why did it take so long to inform us? This place is definitely not a go for me when in visit in the future.

  • TLee

We have eaten Nigerian food several times but this needs improvement. The goat meat was so hard and the Jollof rice needed more work. The moi moi and goat soup were okay. They need to ask their Floridian counterparts about how to prepare these for mass consumption. The owner was okay, he needs to clean his restaurant. The table should not be dirty in the middle of the day especially if the restaurant is empty. It is expensive too.

  • Manny F

We need a real Nigerian restaurant in Queens. This place is a hot mess. From the terrible service (a rough "what do you want?" when taking your order), to the refusal to turn on the lights so the place always looks like a dungeon, you leave TG wishing there was another option. I've been dealing with this place for over 3 years but with no other Naija restaurants in the area, I am forced to grudgingly revisit the place. :(

  • Shim A

Be careful with these people.. Nigerian businesses ALWAYS try to rip you off.. I’ve tried to order from them over the phone on three different occasions and they ALWAYS try to charge you more than the price they have on their RECENT menu. STOP DOING THAT, YOU WILL LOSE NEW CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT. for example their most rent menu on their website says $10 for snail and I called to order and they tried to charge me $15

  • Adati Tarfa

I try to be kind with my review but this is the worse African food I have had. The food has no taste and you can tell it is not probably cooked. I hope this is a one time experience and they will improve. The jollof was okay but the Egusi and Efo riro were awful. The food just has a very strange taste and seems stale.

Be prepared to sit for almost an hour without recognition. I was not acknowledged when I walked in. I had to ask for a menu and even then, no one came to take my order. I sat there for almost an hour and nothing. The culture is not the excuse. I'm from Atlanta so I've been to many Nigerian restaurants and I've never been treated this way. Worst customer service ever. Will never go back again.

  • Jedy Kimz

It was my first time here on 12/10/16 and service was ok... when my bill was brought to the table i realized the waitress automatically added a tip and charged my card. When I confronted her about it she said it was "tax" Then I asked to speak to the manager about it she immediately went and changed the bill and gave me a correct one .Not a good experience for a first time visit

  • Asya Williams

I ordered Fish, Goat & Chicken and they all were hard as if they've been sitting out all day after being cooked. I paid 43$ for 3 plates and didn't even eat any of it besides the Jallof rice. This is a horrible place I'm sure there's better out there. 1 star for the friendliness and another for the Jallof rice. Horrible food, would never eat from here again.

  • Mercedez Princess

I order the same time all the time from this restaurant. Everytime they always give me something else. I ordered okra from here. They took a big plate and split the order into two containers. Then they charged me x2 time's. That's crazy for real. I used to love it for the food but since they keep messing people order's. They get 1 rating.

  • Ibrahim Amour Daouda

I like getting my food from there. The food is good, taste like home! But they are stingy with the meat only downside ‍♂️

Horrible customer service. The staff are being overworked and have little to no training on how a restaurant should run. You can tell the boss doesn't care either. When we had issues with our order and were upset with the customer service we were receiving. The boss did not for a second, try to address the situation.

  • keji oshin

The service here used to be really slow but they have some made changes to improve customer service and the amount of time it takes for food to be ready. They also (finally) accept credit/debit cards. More work is still needed and I hope they get a business consultant to come in and help them get to the next level.

  • Alexander

I had a flight to catch up at JFK and a friend brought me to this location for Nigerian dishes. I really love the food, pounded yam and vegetable with cow leg :). The food arrived on time and nicely placed on the plate. Add additional 5-8 minutes for waiting time. I will visit again whenever I’m at Queens.

  • Jane Mbaba

My first time ordering the soup (ogbono) and I was very disappointed to note that the portion that they gave was so pathetic being that I paid $15 for it. On top of that; it wasn’t all that tasty. My advice for anyone is don’t order from here; it’s 1000% not worth the price.

This is the first place I've tasted African Cuisine. I'm not a big meat eater but my first dish was the spicy goat with pounded yam and Jollof rice. This time around I didn't want any meat so they made the necessary adjustments to satisfy my request. I truly appreciate the customer service.

  • The MoBarr Squad

I called this establishment and a man picks up the phone, I ask him about the menu and he starts yelling at me. I just hung up the phone. I would never spend my hard working money here, got to be kidding me. Maybe he needs to be in the back if he can't deal with paying customers. The nerve!

  • ola akanbi

The service was disappointing . After bringing my food, I had to wait almost 5 minutes because there was no pen for me to sign the receipt. Also, the quality of the Suya was so disappointing , it didn't taste fresh. I will not be returning there, I feel I didn't get value for my money.

  • amanda dauphin

The food is delicious, fresh an order only takes 20 mins. I always order egushi with fufu, delicious and good portion, I prefer more portion as I love the soup but it's still less expensive as other restaurants in the area. Plantains sweet and ripped, nicely sliced. Very satisfied

  • Bisi

Value of food here isn't as it used to be. Suya is just meat with onions and spicy herbs; potential heart burns. Plus I asked for a bottle of water and it smelled like fish. Just no. I'll go else where. I don't party much but I hear the DJs hired for the weekend parties are good.

  • Candace Cox

Service wasn't great, first time here very disappointed whosoever this guy is that's running the bar/music is not professional at all, Kissing his teeth to every question asked.....I could get my disrespect some place else for less price. First and last time here... good luck.

  • Elohor Osa

The website says 11am! We got there at 11 there was nobody. We waited a bit and drove around then returned at 12pm. The attendant told us she just started cooking and nothing will be available until one hour. Their food is nice though if u can get the right timing!!! More
