My husband arrived in the ED on Saturday February 5 around 830pm. He was placed in a room where we remain for approximately 39 hours. We were told that they thought he had a GI bleed and needed blood. Room was like a freezer. We were told he would be moved to the ICU. GI doctor finally came on Sunday morning. We were told that my husband needed a Endoscopy and it would be done Sunday. 2 hrs later we were told that it wouldn’t be done till Monday morning due to more emergent cases. My husband had nothing to drink since arriving in the ED. Still freezing in the ED room. Finally we were moved to ICU around 6pm on Sunday night. Room was like a freezer. We were told we were in the old part of the hospital and they couldn’t do anything about it except give us blankets. Finally did Endoscopy on Monday late morning. Nobody bother to tell us results till Tuesday late afternoon. Now on Tuesday morning we were told my husband needed more blood. When we question nurse he didn’t know why and couldn’t tell us test results. Finally demanded to talk to the ICU Dr. Dr came and was very rude. When I question what was going on with my husband’s health. She got upset with me and stated that she just had a patient die on her. Finally GI doctor can in late Tuesday and stated he wrote discharge notes for my husband to be released on Monday and we were told he didn’t need the 3rd blood transfusion. Really!! GI doctor said we could leave. Waiting for discharge paperwork. 45 minutes Medical doctor decided my husband needed to stay one more night. Due to him not having any of he’s daily pills since Saturday. Again ridiculous!!! Finally was transferred out of ICU on Tuesday night. We were told my husband would be released Wednesday morning. Informed staff and doctor that we had a flight to caught on Wednesday afternoon. Which we were told by GI doctor that he was safe to fly. At 130pm he was released. We missed our flight. So overall experience was horrible!! Really scary that my husband received blood that he didn’t even need. Stayed two extra days for no reason. Missed our flight and had to stay and pay for extra days in a hotel. Again ridiculous!!! Who’s going to pay that bill??? The communication and the way we treated was horrible!! Very stressful situation for us because we we’re visiting New Orleans. I felt like nobody knew what they were doing and we were lied to. Please call because I like to tell how horrible the experience was.

My total experience at Tulane Medical Center was absolutely amazing and 5 star + from ER admittance to discharge. On vacation in a new city, no friends or family, I had an EFIB incident at my hotel and walked to the Tulane Medical center and admitted myself in the ER. Immediately the admittance staff ushered me into the ER nurse station where they set up and ran the BP and EKG verifying heart flutter. They set me up in the ER room and performed numerous test including constant vital sign monitoring, ultrasound, Xray's, and echocardiogram and started IV's to slow down the heart beat. This all happened quickly and very professional in a short time. Multiple doctors, nurse and technicians from Cardio department and other hospital staff examined and queried me. The determination was made after the IV medication did not slow or regulate the flutter and pulse enough to schedule me for a cardioversion the following morning. They placed me in a private room on the 7th floor(7222) that evening. Great room with a city view, Better than the Hilton where I was staying. I had continual doctor and nurse visits as well as floor staff all evening and the following morning including the anesthesiologist and medicine team. They set me up on a wireless monitoring system that allowed me complete freedom. Amazing communication. They even brought my wife blankets since the hospital was cold, understandably. The cardioversion was quick and successful, great friendly staff. I was released that afternoon after a few hours of monitoring for stabilization. I wished I had taken note of all the staff that worked on me, too many to even list. Please post this to the hospital staff and especially the Cardio department for exemplary service. I had a Cardioversion two years ago at my home town in Washington, which was a good experience also but Tulane was over the top. If I ever need hospital service again I would pay the flight from Seattle to Tulane in a heart beat( forgive the pun). Thanks everyone...

Update -(Tulane see below)- The care that I have received has been great, but my biggest complaint is about the billing, and the miscoding of my visits. I have received allergy immunotherapy for the last 5 years, but starting this year, every one of my bills have been improperly coded as “diagnostic testing”. Instead of being covered under my insurance, I get billed $88 per visit. I have spoken to multiple people in the billing department. The bills from earlier this year have been corrected, but every month I keep getting billed. Then I have to spend a half hour on the phone, just to explain again that there is a problem. I love my doctor, she is wonderful and caring. However, the billing errors make me feel that If I wasn’t in the last year of my course of treatment, I’d likely have changed providers. I hope this gets resolved soon. Update: I was contacted by Billing Department directly after this review. So cudos to the someone for attempting to address the issue when brought on the public forum, but as of today, 20 days passed, and I have yet again received an additional bill, with no resolution from the previous four. Currently shows owing for 4 treatments (April-July) and I go back again today, so I’ll expect it to be 5 after August. I know in the larger scheme of things this is minor, but most people can’t take several hours over several months to continue to dispute the same miscoded issue. Tulane can do better. I just don’t think I’ll be staying to see how. Again, I love my docs, not complaining about them, but if I’m having these issues with billing, and pointing out the exact problem when I call, and are still having the same issues, I don’t want to think what others go through for major issues.

Went there after a fall. Nurses, intake staff and x ray techs were incredibly nice and helpful. The actual DRs were nasty, uncommunicative, bullying and downright rude. The DRs also seemed to not communicate to one another because one told me that I had fractured my left hip and another claimed it was the right hip. I asked about caring for my injury at home. One ( nurse, I think), said that the fracture would " pierce my organs", one said that would be healing " within a few weeks", another said that " I would never walk again". All of the DRs pressured me to submit to surgery. None were willing to discuss with me dealing with my injury at home. One DR suggested that because I had taken 6 Ibuprofen with a glass of wine before coming to Tulane that I was too " intoxicated " to make my own decisions". Finally they let me go and gave me a pain medicine prescription. Though I asked for something non addictive, when I got home I saw that it was an opioid. Warning included addiction. So to the DRs at Tulane, I am getting around okay, considering it's been 3 days. For your information, I am guessing the left hip since it's more problematic and I am using ibuprofen, not the opioid prescription that you gave me. Yay for the nurses and techs. You guys were pleasant, helpful, sympathetic and kind but someone needs to tell the doctors not to be nasty. I imagine that they have long shifts and a lot to deal with, but each patient is an individual and deserves respect and to be listened to. Also listen to each other, right hip, left hip! Get it together.

My experience with Tulane Health System was GREAT and DISHEARTENING. My Mother Reganer A. Edwards was transferred to Tulane from Ochsner for an ISCHEMIC STROKE. Thanks to the awesome STROKE TEAM and awesome ICU TEAM. Now where I had issues with THS. First the cafeteria. I was served and sold “SPECIAL EGGS”. Yes they were very SPECIAL. Thirty minutes after digesting “SPECIAL EGGS” I became VIOLENTLY ill. I thought I was in need of emergency assistance it was so bad. So for about 90 minutes I was unable to be there for my Mother. Second your environmental services are totally HORRIBLE!!! The housekeeper came in changed the trash can liner and said have a nice day. As you will see this was the room my Mother was in. NASTY!! And what was that coming to the ceiling?? The AC unit’s temperature could not be controlled and it made this unbearable noise. As you see a blanket had to placed over it so my Mother wouldn’t feel like she was freezing. And the nursing staff on the 5th floor weren’t very nice. And to add insult to injury, I am having trouble getting assistance with the medicine my Mother needs. I called for assistance and I am getting the run around. Still waiting for a return phone call and my Mother really needs this medicine like yesterday. I am a health care provider and for me this is unreal. I am hoping and praying that I nor anyone I know has to ever stay in your facility or needs assistance after a stay in your facility. Jennifer Edwards-King Reganer A Edwards(patient)

Dr. Cyriac and his pre-op staff is amazing! Dr. Cyriac provided me with his meticulous and perfected plan of operation. Because of his confidence and skill set, I embraced my surgery like a non-wavered trooper. I went in under his badge of skills and knowledge. The most amazing and important challenge for me was my post-op recovery. I knew exactly what to expect following my discharge. Dr. Cyriac was very methodical as he provided clear and concise instructions. I had no worries before, during, or after the surgery. Ms. Suzette had all the pieces ready and was available to respond to any questions or concerns. The order of the day flowed flawlessly from Dr. Cyriac to Ms, Suzette. Immediately after my release, there was no post-op assistance of ANY KIND. That was shocking considering the type of surgery. I had to quickly develop the skill of retrieving things with my toes. I continued my recovery alone and it became easier to move when I received my much anticipated walker with wheels. I don’t want to bemoan the total lack of post-op assistance, as they never returned my call or voicemail, because the take-away from my experience lies in the meticulous attention to pre-op and surgery. I believe I had the best of the best with Dr. Cyriac and Ms. Suzette. And nothing could minimize my sincere appreciation. Of a truth, I value Tulane Medical Center amongst the most innovative health care facilities with a high caliber of expert healthcare providers.

Tulane Medical Center is where I have been a patient for over several months. This is the place that my PCP directed me to go because of some abnormal results received from various lab tests and ultrasounds. While being seen by a doctor who specializes in Thyroid issues, I was diagnosed with Cancer in my left Thyroid Lobe. Needless to say, I did not know this until various testing was completed because I did not feel any differently health wise. Thankful to God and the surgeon Dr. Emad Kandil and his associates, surgery was performed to remove the lobe and the Cancer was caught in time. Now, I still have the right Nodule in the Thyroid being tested and I pray that the results come back negative. My life is still as busy as usual and I am scheduled for follow up visits in the next couple of weeks. The staff at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans are very kind and professional people. My visits have been pleasant and productive. The staff always made me feel comfortable in feeling that I was in good hands. Although, my journey takes me three hundred miles and five hours, I venture to say it is all worth while. In the long run, my health will have improved greatly because of the care and attention I have received from some of the best. Thanks Tulane Medical for all that you do; not only for me but many other countless patients who you see on a daily basis.

I am a patient and I was treated very bad at this facility in ER. Due to my visit in ER I am changing all of my doctors. These doctors and nurses take a oath to protect patients. When you lie about the care that you gave me in ER it's no telling when I come back there what they would cover up. The things that this place covered up to save their name is unbelievable. We have pictures and video to show just how they and the 2 witness that had to help due to them not doing their job. Please don't go to this place it's dirty they had blood on floor from a previous patient in the room I was in and the bathrooms are so dirty. HIPPA is a game there. If you want good care and staff that treat you like they would want their family to be treated this is not the place. BOARD of health and Joint Commission will hear from me and my attorney. But the lies that the doctor the nurses everyone that was involved in this situation you can get away from people but pictures videos and God will make sure you pay for the lie this hospital /ER told to protect them and wasn't worried about the protection of the patient they was taking care of. Don't go to this place. I was seen at this hospital 1/02/2022

Tulane medical center is a wonderful hospital, I'm a 53 yr. Old male, I've had stage 3 bladder cancer in 2017 and had to have my bladder and prostate removed, and through the years it caused me to have kidney failure causing me to lose my right kidney. I wear a ostomy pouch,, and I've developed a hernia the size of a basketball. My other doctors I was seeing at other clinics said it was a very high risk surgery to remove the hernia, but I decided to get a second opinion and scheduled a appointment to seeing a stomach doctor at Tulane medical center, and within minutes I was given appointment for a CT scan and the doctor said that they could do the surgery where the other doctor I was seeing at another facility said they couldn't do it. Tulane medical center takes pride in their work and their patients come first. Tulane medical center has top of the line doctors and specialists to care for your needs. There is no job to big or to small for Tulane medical center. They take care of it all. And I also would like to recognize the nurse's and staff for being such wonderful people. Tulane medical center is the place to be for your care.

I am grateful to the good care I received from my First ER nurse and doctor on 9/22 about 3pm. What i did not like was not feeling secure in my room with other patients wandering the ER. The place was disorganized and chaotic. My blood was taken in vials and just laid next to me on the adjustable food table. The transporters were not comforting or did not introduce themselves. As soon as they had you in the elevator they were on their phone. I would not be allowed to be discharged from the ER when I received a blood transfusion. The only way that i could be discharged was to be moved to a room in the hospital or which i spent a whole 45 minutes. Once in my room my charge nurse amy was wonderful and expedited my release. And she allowed my husband to come to the room even though visiting hours were over. The bully security that would not allow my husband to bring me my clothes was extremely rude and condescending. He never got her name but she had several tattoos and a mullet. I would hope to never have to return to this hospital nor would I ever want to go the ER past 6pm if I could not have my husband to help me.

The nurses did their duties but the compasion that someone in the medical field should have for their patient wasn't there. The day that i got discharged was really not that great. The transport van came to get me. The nurse didn't come in to help the transport driver help. The student aide name Sonya name Sonya. I told her that I couldn't move my legs. I told her that she needed help. She said she was going to do it. Her and transport van lady tried to pick me up to put me in a wheel chair. The student aid hurts my legs and my feet. They hit them against the wall. I was in so much pain. The student aide should not have tried to pick me up without a nurse there to supervisor her. When I left the hospital I was in a lot of pain in my legs and back. I kept asking the student aide to call for a nurse to help. However, I was really very happy when I got out of the hospital and was on my way home. One of the worst experience that I have had. Then the discharge folder had a letter in it that stated I had a card with my follow up appointment in it. But there was no appointment card there.

Incredible hospital and staff! Dr. Friedlander and his staff in oncology are absolutely amazing. The surgery department staff is also amazing very attentive and very informative. They keep you posted every step of the way and are so great with the people in their care. This will be a long road for us but we are in such incredible hands and everyone in the hospital let's you know they are there for you. Even the volunteers. Mrs. Joanne is a volunteer that was working in the surgery waiting room who we met and she went above and beyond for every family member that was in the waiting area. She has a heart of gold and so very sweet. She had so much compassion for a lady was visibly upset while waiting for her family member and Mrs. Joanne was so attentive and had such an amazing heart with her. She made sure everybody was good!! She is beyond amazing with a heart of gold. Tulane you are amazing and so are your doctors and staff! Thank you for taking a worried heart and putting it at ease!!!!

I want to send a special “Thank You” to the wonderful staff at Tulane Hospital in New Orleans . I was recently on a girls trip and fell crossing the street . The ambulance arrived (they were awesome and quick ) took me to Tulane were I was greeted by Kayla , Zackaria (from the Bible sorry I misspelled) and a few others . I immediately felt welcomed they made me feel comfortable and in good hands . They worked quickly on my broken ankle , made me laugh and I had not a worry in the word . I had a X-rays and cat scan performed . Also they Perfectly put my ankle bone back in place Mr.Zackery (From Miami ) and his partner did a wonderful job I didn’t feel any pain . They provided me with meds and fixed me up enough that I could still enjoy my trip and make it home . You all even the security was amazing!! I’m home and the doctors in Fort Lauderdale are so proud of how they treated me and my injury …. I highly recommend this hospital and crew

I arrived at ER at approximately 630am on Sunday morning, March 27. I had passed out and fell, smashing my face. The staff was efficient and kind. I had to have blood work, a head ct and a lung ct. Everything went as quickly and efficiently as possible. The ER doctor, Dr. Longwell was amazing. My nurse, Katie N was so kind and helpful. Both Dr. Longwell and my nurse Katie checked on me several times while I was waiting. Both were making sure I was as comfortable as I could be, asking if they could do anything for me while we waited. Dr. Longwell had to suture my lower lip. My teeth had punctured it and went all the way through. Dr. Longwell took great care with the sutures. He is not a plastic surgeon but his work was perfect. I have since had the sutures removed and I have healed up beautifully. It appears as I won’t have any scar at all. I can not say enough great things about Dr. Longwell, nurse Katie N and the care I received at Tulane.

The Doctors and nurses were exceptional. I had surgery scheduled for 7/27/2022. Received a recording the Sunday before saying I needed to be at hospital for 9am on 7/27. On Tuesday before surgery I received a call telling me I had to be at hospital for 11. I asked so I don’t have to be there for 9. Answer was no ma’am be here for 10:30. I asked what was the 9 o’clock time for. Was told basically it was a holding time until the schedule for the day was completed. On my way to hospital morning of received a call telling me I miss my 9am nuclear test. First I hear if this test. Asked if I can get there ASAP was there with 15 minutes of call. Get there still confusion don’t do test until 12 r so and didn’t start surgery until after that. Had to stop surgery BP and heart rate dropped. Was kept in hospital over night. Had great care. Only complaint was the disconnect between the scheduling and the information given to me.

I am rating a four because I am very disappointed with the lab services. I had a confirmed appointment for 10:00. After registering I went to the lab to have the blood drawn. I was rudely told that I didn’t have an appointment. I showed her my letter with all my appointments set up for that day. I was again rudely told that my paperwork was for radiology. When I went to my appointment with my doctor the nurse apologised because their was no lab work done on me. She said the lab has done that several times before and they have reported them several times. After I finished my appointment I went down to the lab again and had the blood-work done. By this time I had been fasting for twelve hours. Everybody from the receptionist at registration, radiology, my doctor and his nurse was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the lab staff.

The care my family member received in Neuro ICU was excellent. The nursing staff is professional and very caring, each time they came into the room they made us aware of what they were doing and kept us updated. The Rehab services were great and the therapist really educate the family and involve them in their love one's care. The doctors were great at communicating with my family and provided quality care to my mother. The Social Worker was always there to help. She was very caring, she made sure she spoke with us when needed, we were very pleased with her services. Overall, the hospital is cleaned. There is a coffee shop and cafeteria on campus. The staff members seem dedicated in providing quality care to their clients. There were no safety issues or concerns the security staff were friendly. We were very satisfied with the care our family member received.

You emergency was horrible. It was noisy, it was cold, it, not to mention that coughing patients, with out masks, were way too close in this time of COVID or any other infections. I didn't even get the feeling of sterile in there. My husband had to spend the night in there (came in by ambulance around 5pm on May 16th and didn't get a room until May 17th around 9:00pm) and I stayed with him. I was given the most uncomfortable chair ever, the security guards radio seemed louder with every message, there seemed to be talking and laughing all night long. it was impossible for my sick husband or me to get any rest or comfort. Although the staff seemed very efficient and willing to do a good job of caring we were glad to get out of what we referred to as the basement. Once we got in the hospital things were better but was very glad to get out of there too.

My appointment with Dr. Maulucci went exceptionally smoothly from check in through diagnosis of my problem and scheduling of the surgical procedure. The receptionists were courteous and helpful. Dr. Maulucci was pleasant, personable, and professional during my appointment. He pointed out the problem on my MRI, explained its significance, and listened to and answered all of my questions. His Surgical Nurse "Kat" was also personable and professional and worked with me to schedule my procedure and when I had questions later, she returned my call and answered all of my questions. All of this was extremely refreshing when compared with my previous experiences with other physicians and their staffs. Overall I felt my treatment was outstanding and I would highly recommend Dr. Maulucci and his staff to anyone who suffers from problems involving the spine .

This automatically comes up as my daughter but this is Kelli Kramer. My surgery date was on Dec 7th and after my toilet exploding (not over flowing) and yes with bodily fluids in it but at least no solids were in there, lol …, but did spray your walls and flood the floors and adjoining rooms, other than that little incident everything and everyone was just fine and I can’t say enough about the nurses, actually everyone we talked with was so friendly and compassionate! It’s sad to say but it seems at a lot of hospitals, I always feel I am bothering a nurse if I have to press a call button for any reason or they make me feel like i am a burden and at your hospital I never felt that way with anyone!!!! That was a refreshing nice change!!! Excellent staff, nurses, doctors, and CARE! So thank y’all! Sincerely, Kelli Kramer :)

I would recommend this facility a 100 times! I was visiting from Colorado and instructed by my provider to go to the ER. The 1st facility I visited I waited for 6 hours Was having chest pain. Had a recent diagnosis of DVT. So wanted to rule out any PE. The University hospital did not care whether it was urgent or not but I had a sweating for 6 hours. So it's. So we decided to head over to 2 lane medical center. Got an almost immediately. Add every single test ran possible. The staff was great Except for one nurse That did the initial triage. Other than that I would rate this a 5 due to their diligence and care for patients. I too work in the medical field in Colorado and am now counting our blessings for The medical care we receive here in Colorado. It was totally a different experience in Louisiana.

Absolutely the WORST experience of my life!!! I had to fly in from Washington state to have my back surgery. The surgeon was awsome. The surgical staff was awsome. The nurses that I had showed me exactly what reverse racism is all about. Im a 55 year old man that was left in a position for two days with no pillow, one sheet, and no meds after major back surgery. To top it off the absolute deniel of a nurse call button or access to a phone. The middle of the second day I flopped onto the floor, after a back fusion, and crawl to the closet where my phone was and was able to call my wife in Washington for help. She called my surgeon directly who immediately sent staff to correct the situation. I literally thought I was going to die in their care! This post makes you put a star, they deserve nothing!

  • Trina Mancuso

I had a colonoscopy in the endoscopy dept. Everyone was kind and efficient and did their jobs extremely well. My nurses Beth, Bonnie and I think her name was Tiffany were wonderful. Dr. Silvers performed my procedure. I had not met him prior to this. He was attentive and caring and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a GI doctor. Clint from anesthesia( I think he is a nurse anesthetist) did a great job explaining exactly what he was doing and made me comfortable and pain free during my procedure. I can’t remember the name of the male nurse who recovered me but he did an excellent job as well. There was a delay for an emergency and I was told about it and they were still able to do my procedure in a timely fashion. I was very impressed with the whole department!

  • Shelia Sturgis

My experience at Tulane Hospital was horrible, in ICU after coming out of surgery had a young African American name Daniele working with me, asked about a walker to use the restroom and was told I had to wait until a walker was founded, I waited for two hours luckily I had my son there to help me, I was told by nurse and supervisor that my spine surgery wasn’t bad as other patients that needed to be taken care of, this was April13 2022 just in case I don’t have names and the time was 3 pm. I couldn’t wait until the next day when I was moved to the 5th floor were everyone was so nice even the lady name Tiffney in the Dietry Department, I know there is a shortage of nurses but everyone that sick and had major surgery should be treated with respect and courtesy.

  • Jackie Mac

I cannot say enough great things about Tulane medical center. Every single employee couldn’t have been nicer nor more accommodating. They truly have the kindest people. I mistakenly missed one of two scheduled appointments one day and they called me while I was in one appointment to move my missed appointment to later in the day. It was a blessing that they were able to provide such considerate service especially since it was my fault I had missed it. No one batted any eye at adding me at the last minute to the schedule even though it was nearly 5:00. They always make me feel welcome, wanted and valued. I am beyond grateful for these humans and this hospital. Thank you all so much for your kindness, service, and dedication to providing humane care.

  • Blaine Charak

First of all, the people here, from housekeeping to physicians, are top notch caring individuals who all took great care of me. Having said that, I also found a level of institutional confusion that could hurt patients, and worse. Departments and personnel didn’t seem to coordinate on my care (wrong meds, food not delivered, specialists never arriving) leaving me befuddled and having to keep an eagle-eye on things (thank goodness I had someone with me to assume that role as I was in no condition to do that 24-7). I guess that’s the state of medical care these days; you need to be your own advocate, ask questions, take notes, and question everything. Sad when all you’re trying to do is heal and recover.

  • Joel Dvoskin

All in all, I was very pleased with the care that I received in the emergency department at the Tulane Medical Center. I was seen very quickly, and all of the staff was kind and professional. My only disappointment was that the physician decided not to completely stitch the cut on my hand. (He only place 3 stitches, while the cut required many more stitches to be completely closed.) He told me that the orthopedic surgeons in Tucson (my home) would stitch it up. However, when I saw the orthopedic surgeon, he told me that it was too late to properly stitch the cut, and that it should have been completely stitched in the emergency room. Otherwise, I was very happy with the care that I received.

Dr. Khan in neurosurgery was quite thorough, patient, and discussed my treatment and risks in detail. I did not want to take off my mask for a temperature check. I told the nurse my temp was always 97.7 but she insisted I take it off. It was 98.8. That should have been a red flag to me. Next morning I woke up with Covid. Turns out days before another doctor made me take my mask off to take my temp and I surely caught Covid then. What's up with local hospitals not having frontal lobe thermometers after 30 months of this pandemic? I hope I did not infect anyone at hospital. But I did manage to infect my neighbor after both of us had managed to evade the virus for the last 30 months!

Superb!! My mom was flown from Hattiesburg,Ms to Toulane for emergency surgery, the surgical team was very rapid and almost completed the surgery upon our arrival she then went to Surgical ICU and let me tell you these guys are amazing and the surgeons make your to take the time to explain everything and her nurse I wish I had the means to make him her private nurse he was exceptional, patient, understanding and I truly believe he was praying as hard as us and kept contact and made sure my sister understood so she could update our family. Thank you Toulane and a special thank you to SICU nurse Marcus for all that ya'll did for my mother.

  • Barbara Fitzpatrick

Very disappointed that with so many numerous texts, emails, telephone messages from Tulane Medical Center reminding me of my appointment, that no one bothered to tell me that the doctors office had moved to a totally different location 25 minutes away. So I went to the wrong hospital, only to find out that his office had changed. I would think with so many forms of communication and so many and I mean SO MANY messages that the staff neglected to inform me that the office had relocated to Metairie. So I had to go to the office at Lakeside, and spent a total of three hours to have a doctors visit. Waste of my time and the physician’s.

  • Sherman Sims

This visit was not for Sherman Sims, but for Fay Baptist-Sims. His wife. We had a good visit. The physicians are very thorough. The nurses are very nice. The only thing I did not like, is that I had to keep repeating what type of medications I currently take. Even though I have been there three times and shared what type of meds and dosage I was on. Each nurse ask. Not to verify, but they said oh its not listed in here so I need to put it down what you are currently taking. Not sure how the system can help to share this information, so they can see info like this, but it would certainly make patient satisfaction a little better.

My Mother was taken to Tulane by Ambulance while we were on vacation. I thought she was having a heart attack. The ambulance arrived within 10minutes. Once she was at Tulane, they immediately started testing for new stroke/heart attack. Within 23minutes they completed a C-T scan and determine no new strokes. The were fast and efficient wasting no time. Luckily (I say, because alternatives are far worse) Mom’s blood sugar had bottomed out and they were able to get her stable and out of the hospital. All staff were courteous and helpful. It’s the best hospital visit we have ever had. All hospitals should take notes from Tulane.

  • Manhniwan Toyphommarath

I wasted a whole week here without tecieving any test resultsnor any answers. They did not do anything to resolve my bloodwork issues and I had multiple days where it was nearly impossible to get a nurse into my room for anything. I also witnessed a lot of the other patients being neglected whenever I went for a walk down the hallways. I've been admitted to the hospital before 2-3 years ago and the care has gone down tremendously and I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. I know I'm not the only one because I know multiple people who voluntarily discharged themseleves because they were not recieving the care they needed.

  • Terri C

If you ever need to go to the hospital this is the place to be. We went here from Baton Rouge with a complex problem that multiple doctors wouldnt touch and tulane fixed like pros along with other issues that popped up. They were amazing. I have never, and I repeat NEVER been in a hospital that treated my husband (the patient) so good and respectfully and me(who never left) amazingly in my entire life. I wish they were closer because i would never go to another hospital again. For those of you who live close to Tulane I am jealous!! When i say amazing, i mean amazing from the doctors down to the housekeepers..

  • Paulette Kennedy

Excellent intake nurse. Attentive to your medical needs. Triage good. Nurse (Phlebotomist) very informative and personable with professionalism. Now the wait was excruciatingly more painful than my medical suffering. Finally my consultation with the doctor to receive my test results was concise and unfortunately not good news. I tested positive for Covid/Omicron. Oh and the X-ray technician was very competent and compassionate. Overall except for being there 9hrs I am grateful for the medical attention received. Dr. Raj was so handsome and down to earth. Thank you TULANE EMERGENCY TEAM SECURITY AND ALL

  • John Wenzel

95% of my nurses were excellent. One example of a bad experience, someone rolled there equipment for the patient next door and banged it up against my door startling me, waking me up. Also some one brought ice into my room at 5:00 a.m. waking me up. One more example, the food was ok, but sometimes they would bring sugar and cream without coffee, and sometimes coffee without sugar and cream. These may seem like little things, but make a big difference when you are a patient who is bedridden and dependent on staff. As for the doctors and most of the nurses, everyone was very nice and professional.

  • Jessica B

The majority of people were very nice and compassionate. I do want to say that the facility is a little confusing to follow when trying to do so many tests and already under stress. Also, pre-op took a REALLY long time and I almost missed an MRI that needed to be done immediately. I'm sure they get people that are impatient and rude often, however, my appointment was over an hour late and when I asked if there was anything they could do to get me to my MRI on time because I was having brain surgery the next day she was kind of rude and didn't have an estimate for when pre-op might start.

  • Dakota Franklin

Last night was the WORST experience I ever had ah Tulane. I been going to Tulane for years and never left unsatisfied like I did yesterday. The nurse who triage me was VERY sarcastic. As I was telling her things. She proceeded to tell me “ What you expect the doctor to do?” And as being in the medical field & taking care of patients it’s some things you say & some things you keep to yourself ! She was VERY unprofessional ! I finally was able to see the doctor after 1 hour and 1/2 and he didn’t listen to anything I saying. I left the ER after being there for 3 hours without any help .

  • Katie Henderson

We were visiting a family member admitted to the hospital. The doctors seem very knowledgeable. Overall we are satisfied with the help we have received so far. They need more rooms for family members who are admitted to the hospital for unforseen circumstances who live 5 hours away instead of just for people who know ahead of time for surgery. Everyone has been very friendly, constantly saying hello and waving at our little one, very helpful and very knowledgeable, especially front desk security Lee. I hope we don't ever have to come back but if we were sent here again we'd be happy.

  • Jarret O'Pry

I was referred to Tulane Medical Center by the VA Medical Center for two neck disk replacements. I was kinda leery as it had been 20 years since I had used this hospital for anything. From my doctor, admissions, nurse techs, anesthesiologist and pretty much anyone involved in my experience at Tulane Medical Center was the best I have ever had any words else. My surgery was a great success so far but with all of the anxiety and fear going into it the team for Tulane Medical Center where of the greatest help and I could not express more my thanks to all! Thank you!!

  • Kay Weeks

I was an out of town ER patient with a very scary breathing situation. It was handled promptly, calmly and professionally by a very caring staff. I was very impressed with the competent evaluation process and treatment. I stayed over night for observation. The nurses and my three assigned doctors were fantastic! The hospital also called me two days in a row after to make sure I was OK. they wanted to be sure I was taking my medicines and that I had contacted my primary care provider for further evaluation. Tulane Medical really provided me with exceptional care!

  • Kathy McLaughlin

The staff greeted me with courtesy and were very friendly and competent. My Dr Leah Williams (a female!!!! Yes!!!! ), was fantastic!!!! Got right down to business but with genuine concern, empathy and kindness. She explained in simple language just what was wrong, gave me a dose right there (medicated mouthwash), as well as two prescriptions. I was out quickly and thought what a great Dr she is! I was on vacation (from Massachusetts), but thanks to Dr Williams i was up and feeling good the next day!! Thank you all!!!!! Kathy McLaughlin

  • Mary Thibodeaux

Overall very good. On time and nice staff. Just feel more could of been explained for surgery and their process with appts and the whys...they work a little different than other places for preop clearance. Left a message for his nurse who called me backand was EXTREMELY helpful to explain everything and didn't rush me. I know they are busy busy. When preparing for something like surgery need info for afterwards...if wait till day of there is no time to prep with time off for work or any other obligations must take care of.

  • james goldstein

Entering the Tulane Medical Center through the Emergency Room with a medical emergency proved to offer excellent care. Having been made stable and comfortable, my move to a room on the wards as soon as a bed was available continued this excllence. The interns and residents who provided information and care were personable, courteous and introduced both themselves and my medical regimen. While one never chooses to be ill, expecially not on holiday, to have encountered such professional assistance was much appreciated.

  • Michael Orndorff

My wife and I were a long way from home when I experienced an accident and the staff at Tulane University were very comforting to my wife and I really appreciate it. They fixed the first part of my treatment and made it possible for us to get back home and complete the remaining surgery in our home town. No one ever wants to get injured, especially when they are out of town but I appreciate Tulane University and the staff everyone included. Special thanks to Dr.Apple and Trish sixth floor.

  • Renee Giardina

The OR staff was so nice and encouraging. They made me feel comfortable and I wasn’t nervous going into my surgery at all. After surgery, during my hospital stay, the staff was so amazing. Everyone was so accommodating. The nurses on the 6th floor were so compassionate. Dr. Shauna Levy is one of the best surgeons I have had. She is always available when you need her and puts her patients first. This was my first experience with Tulane Medical Center and I will definitely be back.

  • Sharese Yount

The intake nurse put in my chart that I was an every day smoker (I have never smoked). This was not on my discharge paperwork so I didn’t see the error until signing into my portal. When I called to get this corrected as it coded a diagnosis sent my insurance, they were not helpful at all. I was transferred to three different departments and was finally told their was nothing they could do. I tried to search for a patient advocate to help but they don’t seem to have one?

  • Rayford Shaw

My appointment at the Tulane Medical Center was one of the most professional encounters I have ever experienced at a medical facility. The entire staff, including Connie and all the male assistants, were genuinely receptive to my needs and had a calming effect to mitigate my anxiety. The procedure went without incident, and I feel fortunate to have undergone it through their diligent care. Thanks to all for a successful outcome. Respectfully, Rayford W. Shaw, Jr. PH.D

  • Kevin Forshag

The overall experience at Tulane was positive. I want to shout out to my recovery nurse (I forget her name) and my floor night nurse, Meredith, for the care and concern they expressed immediately after my surgery! Both of those ladies deserve a Daisy Award!! My floor day nurse was a different story, as I saw her maybe 3 times and I asked to get up and walk to which she replied "it'll be a while before I get to you". My surgeon specifically stated I needed to walk!!

  • Myles DeRouen

Mrs. Darlene in Neuroscience is the most positive and helpful person I have ever met in the entire medical industry! If it were not for her my wife would not have been taken care of in a timely manner with her going above and beyond what I could ever expect from her, even making sure things were addressed at the management level without hesitation! Definitely embodies what Tulane should expect out of each and every employee from the janitor to the corporate level.

  • Kalyan Sen

I was visiting New Orleans to attend a conference. I had to go to the emergency care at the Tulane Medical Center. The emergency physician, Dr Marcus K Clayton, MD, acted as not only a great physician, he was very caring and paid personal attention to the details. The nurses and admission assistant were equally caring. It was such a pleasant experience that I will remember forever. Please keep up the great work that you are doing to serve the community.

  • Ann Marie Edwards

People at the front reception desk were professional, polite and very helpful. At the Transplant unit that professionalism continued. I felt very comfortable with each person on that team from the nursing staff, the doctors, admissions clerk. I can say 100% that it was a positive experience and has put at ease for future visits to come. Thank you for all wonderful people that helped to make my first experience at Tulane a very positive one.

  • Kelly Brown

When the subject of surgery arises as part of the treatment plan, anxiety can be expected and so it was with me. The folks at Tulane Medical Center treated me professionally and with compassion, alleviating my concerns. In my opinion, the team of doctors, nurses and staff at Tulane Medical Center, are among the best you will find. A special thanks to Dr. Felix Savoie for taking me from chronic pain back to a world of activity and comfort.

  • Tracey M

The doctor I saw was amazing. He took the time to explain everything to me and was very compassionate. I was impressed by his knowledge of the situation and how understanding he was. The staff was nice as well. They treat their patients with respect and not just some random person. And again I was super impressed by Dr. Adhikari Prateek. He is on top of his game! Thank you for making a scary situation a little more comfortable.

  • Karen Mustin

My sister suffers from Sickle Cell Disease. We came to visit New Orleans on 12/29/22.She was having a crisis and we came to this hospital on 12/30/22 at 4:00am. We have been here since then 9:41Am and still waiting!!!! They have very disrespectful and unprofessional nurse staff, not enough employees here assisting patients ,and waiting for hours for an XRAY!!!! Whatever you do dont EVER COME HERE FOR MEDICAL CARE!!!!!!

  • GChamp

I had shoulder surgery at Tulane Lakeside Hospital. The pre-Op visit was efficient and quick with friendly people. The day of the surgery was just as efficient for check in and all medical personnel who treated me where friendly and caring. My spouse was kept informed throughout my surgery and had a good experience. The facility itself was clean and comfortable. I recommend this hospital for your outpatient surgery.

  • Stephanie Gable

Excellent service from the time we walked through the doors until the wheeled my husband out at discharge. Every single person treated us with kindness and respect. My husband I have been employed in hospitals for 17 and 33 years respectively. Neither of us have ever witnessed positive service from in the door and back out again 100%. Would recommend anyone to this hospital. We drove from MS. Well worth the drive.

  • Bruce Albrecht

Very positive experience and professionalism at arriving severely dehydrated at this hospital. We were seen right away and tests were done immediately. We didn’t know my husband was severely dehydrated. I thought he was having a stroke. The staff was great. We also found out he was diabetic which we didn’t know. It finally prompted him to see a doctor after 18 years. Thank you for the wake up call!

  • Janet Desselle

My husband had an angiogram done in late afternoon Normally he would have had to get a room and spend the night but the 2 gentlemen in the angiogram area, Wes and Cliff, we’re kind enough to stay an extra 2 hours with him so that he could go home that night. They were awesome! They checked on him regularly and made the release from the hospital as simple as possible. Thanks to 2 great guys!

  • Curstin Kay

AWFUL NURSES AND ER STAFF. My mom suffered over 7 hours in their waiting room. Nurses provided no updates, was eating subway and was very rude every time I asked for an update. DO NOT COME HERE!! I have never experienced anything like this ever in my life! Also, patient relations here is a joke! No one ever answered the phone after I called multiple times between 9am-5pm on a Tuesday!

  • Linetta Gilbert

Services from my cardiologist, Dr. Keith Ferdinand, and team were excellent. They reviewed my history carefully, they respectfully engaged me providing useful guidance concerning medication and diet. They set a date/time for a key test that I needed, quickly scheduled and, conducted the test and lab results and shared them with me within 24 hrs. I felt seen. Thank you, Dr. Ferdinand.

  • F H

Dr Levy is absolutely wonderful! I'm so grateful to have him as a part of mh medical team. He truly listens and cares about you as a person. And his nurse Emma is so very kind and helpful, and is quick to get you in touch with you and your concerns. I really appreciate them both. I hope that they are recognized by Tulane for all of their hard work. I wish I could give them a 10!!!

  • Garreth Johnson

The physicians, nurses and medical staff were very patient directed, attentive and responded quickly and efficiently with any needs, questions or concerns. It was refreshing to see such positive and upbeat attitudes when no one wanted to work two days after Christmas! The cleaning and meal personnel were equally and especially positive and supportive for a quick recovery.

  • Yvonne Thaxton

We needed to be in ICU but no bed was available so we stayed in the ER for 4 days. That was less than desirable for everyone involved. In spite of the situation the care provided was exceptional in every way. I do not believe that the ICU could have provided better care. Thank you to everyone involved, custodial staff, case worker, nursing and students as well as doctors.

  • frances quakenbos

My appointment was more that I expected! The entire appointment was very timely and very comfortable! Everyone was very helpful and right on time. They moved me from place to place as needed with no delays! The doctors were right on time, and explained everything in total detail. I was very impressed with with the doctors and the staff and the appointment. Thank you!!

  • Damaris Gonzalez

I visited New Orleans the past few days and started having chest pains. I came to the emergency room at the medical center. The staff, nurses, doctors were excellent and I was out of there in 2 hours which is unheard of in my state of Florida. Thank you for giving me your undivided attention and caring for me and my health. I truly appreciate the pristine service.

  • Joyce Peach

Went to this Medical Center after a severe fall and was from out of town also, and must say I had a very good experience. They were all very kind and helpful and took good care of me in a timely and efficient manner and I appreciated them all and got my diagnosis and went on my way!! If you are in New Orleans and need emergency care, would recommend this Med Ctr.

  • Michelle Peterson

The experience we had in the transplant unit (4th floor) was absolutely amazing. Our love one was there In ICU for over a month, not one time did anyone have a attitude. The doctors and nurses were beyond courtesy, helpful, respectful, and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a better team to care for our love one. We thank you guys and gals.... job well done

  • diane Carver

I saw Dr. Neal Jackson. He and his staff were excellent. Dr. Jackson was not rushed and took time to listen and to explain my diagnosis and answer any questions. His staff went out of their way to make sure I didn't have to wait long and to make me feel comfortable. The audiologist I saw was very patient and friendly while testing and explained every step.

  • Rachael, Jared Jefferson

The visit was good all I. All, but the lab messed things up. I was supposed to have the same me hour glucose test done, but they drew the blood and sent me on my way. I found out later, hat they did it wrong and I know have to go through the fasting and blood draw all over again another time. It was a waste of my time and blood as well as my doctors time.

  • Kathy G GambleW

At Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine, I had the best, most professional care from beginning to end. Dot and the WC woman, Dr. Sherman and Kimberly, as well as the x-ray tech and front staff, I was heard, cared for, treated professionally AND didn't wast time. Dr. Sherman was thorough, a great listener, asked many questions and gave excellent advice.

  • Claudia Sandigo

Update 7/21/2023. I am updating because I have to commend Tulane’s doctors and staff for their outstanding care during my breast cancer treatment. I have been a patient at Tulane for many years. From in internal medicine to gynecology to orthopedics to surgery to PT, the staff and doctors are always courteous, kind, compassionate and knowledgeable.

  • David Redfern

I recently stayed for nearly 3 weeks at Tulane and I can’t praise the hospital enough for what they did for me during this time. The staff were outstanding, with the highest level of care and compassion shown at all times. Every member of staff played their part and I hold them and the hospital in the highest regards. A sincere thank you from me!

  • Leah Bloom

I stayed in ICU for 3 days and the nurses and doctors were exceptional!! They were very attentive , really patient and so sweet!!! Shoutout to Halle, Gavin and Britt. Britt was the best. He made sure I kept my dignity when I had to have my bedsheets changed and I had to have a quick sponge bath. He got a female to do it and I was so appreciative.

  • Alicia Kelly

I have gone through many major surgeries at several different facilities. This was by far the best experience ever!! Every nurse, tech, and doctor were amazing! I could tell they truly cared about my well being. Even though the drive to the hospital is over an hour from my house, I will definitely use Tulane Lakeside for my future medical needs.

  • Buddy Goode

First class experience. The doctor, nurses, and other people that helped me were very knowledgeable and explained each step very well. Every person I dealt with was friendly and seemed genuinely concerned about me. Being from out of town I had some concerns about the care I would receive, but it was great. A big thank you to all your people.

  • Harold Morris

Once again, the service I received at Tulane was efficient, and comforting. Going in for any procedure is disturbing, but the staff, from the clerks to the nurses to the physicians, make me feel at ease. My most recent procedure went very well, and I am confident that any future needs will be performed to the same high standard.

  • Maggie Monti

The care I received here was great. I was in and out in 3 hours. It was nice to have a place to go that is within walking distance of the French Quarter. The Dr and staff were awesome. We were vacationing from out of state. I was feeling great the next day and enjoyed the rest of my stay in New Orleans. Thank you so much.

  • Mar'Krisseanna Span

The Dr. I’m who treated me did not show me the X Ray of my lungs nor explain to me what was so “normal” about me. I experience trouble with my lungs and it was pretty much dismissed with allergies and no medical evidence. I rate this a two, because other employees were kind; including Ms. Charlene, the insurance lady.

  • Nicole Pearson

I went at 12am and before I finished my paperwork vitals were taken and I went straight to the back. They check for COVID which I had, gave me ibuprofen release paperwork and I was on my way in about 30mins. Not being from here I felt so sure with the care I received thank you guys for taking good care of me! …

  • Cherise Hills

I would give 5 stars but overall my experience was good. I went in with stomach issues and the waiting time took so long. I ended up needing emergency surgery. But that also took a day to do. Other than that the staff was amazing. The surgery team was super helpful. And they made sure I got out the next day.!

  • RENETTE DOMINICK

I am extremely disappointed in Tulane. I brought my mother there because the website stated that there was a Geriatric ER specifically for the elderly. No one - not doctor, nurse or administration staff had heard of it or could help me. The staff themselves were pleasant and I have no complaints about them.

  • Stephanie James

I must say the entire transplant team was very caring, informative, and took good care of me and my cousin during our stay. I'm grateful that the operation went smoothly, especially since I've never been operated on before. They listened to my concerns and answered every question I had. Thank you Tulane!

  • R M

Awesome Experience. Everyone in the Cardiology Department was friendly and efficient. I was surprised that there was no wait. Tab, the person who did my test was AMAZING. She could tell that I was nervous and she did a great job of helping me relax and complete my test. Definitely a great experience!

  • Aya Aglan

Dr Emad Kandil and his staff are absolutely amazing. Expertise and professionalism at it’s best. Great bed side manner, attention to detail, the whole staff makes sure you are well taken care of. One of the best doctors I have met, and his staff is spectacular. Couldn’t have asked for a better team!

  • MIKE DOLAN

Much delayed maintenance is evident throughout the buildings . I point to the elevators throughout the facility (garage at the ER is the worst). This is inexcusable! Too bad the CEO' compensations not measured on this aspect of his performance. The Clinic and its care of our patients is the BEST!

  • J. Goodwin

Every thing was organized, went smoothly and there was no time wasted waiting. All departments, registration, doctors office and lab saw me in a timely manner. All employees and doctor were pleasant and more than competent. As always, in the last 25 years, no complaints re: Tulane Medical Center.

  • Jonathan Ong

The reviews for the ER room doesn't do this place justice. Although the service at the hospital was much faster than the ER. I've found the nurses to be friendly, the physicians had good bedside manner, and the specialist urologists to be excellent communicators and skillful surgeons. Thank you.

  • cammerbune

Tulane medical center provided excellent medical care. A wonderful and professional staff. Tulane squeezed me in last minute as I was in town on business, no prior appointment. The Neurosurgery staff top notch and would recommend to anyone. Thank you helping me with my last minute issue.

  • Emily Borne

The medical records department is very unprofessional and not helpful. Called from our medical office to check on a records request and spoke to a very rude woman that ended up hanging up on me. She should think of switching her profession to something more fitting. Maybe a McDonalds...

  • Chris Bastian

I had a really great experience with the doctors and nurses for my surgery. I was in ICU for four days. For some reason, they were moving things and banging doors. That was a little bizarre for me since it was intensive care. All in all though, it was a really great experience.

  • JOD1948

My experience was very pleasant. I arrived on time. My wait time was very short. When I was examined I was treated by very pleasant and professional staff. I was fully advised of what I needed and to correct my condition. I left there fully satisfied with the doctors and staff.

  • Dennis Lewis

Staff at the Transplant Clinic are always kind and efficient. I was seen promptly, and the visit was less than an hour. Dr. Vijay was knowledgeable of my case and took time to make sure I was doing well at my one-year anniversary. All is going well thanks to these people.

  • Eduardo Francis

The visit took longer than expected because they were short staffed. But it was still pleasant. Also each time we got a wheelchair we had to turn it in and when we had to see another dept. we had to call for a wheelchair again. Other than that it was a good appointment.

  • Sharon Williams

I had my left shoulder replaced by Dr. Savoie and he allowed me to do my rehab myself - with exercises his staff gave me. It was such a positive experience that I am going back soon for my other shoulder to be replaced. I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

  • jody juneau

Everyone at the Cancer Center is so nice. Dr. Harris is an angel! She is patient and kind. She explains everything in a way that confused, scared patients can understand. She listens attentively to all questions and answers thoughtfully. She is incredible!

  • grace destefano

I had a very bad fall and when I went to the emergency room EVERYONE was amazing. The took care of me right away, CT scan of the head and neck xrays of the chest and ribs. I am sore and totally burised but thankfully nothing broken. They were wonderful.

  • Sherrine Boseman-Rives

I was treated quickly and I felt like the nursing staff really wanted to make sure I was comfortable. The doctors listened to my concerns and ordered the extra tests. My results were available quickly and I have been moving forward with more assurance.

  • LINDA JOHNSON

I love the kind and generous attention that they give you each time you go there. My mom was treated with professionalism and such kindness. Everyone is good people, from the receptions, nurses, doctors and transportation department. It’s clean!!

  • Mary North

The wait was short, the intake team was pleasant, and the nurse was thorough in her check. All set the welcoming stage for Dr. Williams as she asked good questions and did a skin check on my body. All went well with her freezing an area for me.
