My review is based on visit to new US Consulate which is in Nanakaramguda. To start with basic lists, few of which is listed on website as well. 1. No Phone/Smart devices/bags/handbags/purse/bottles allowed inside. Even if you are carrying them, then ensure some one else is with you waiting outside during entire process to keep these belongings when you are entering for interview. Nearby places, I could not find locker and whom so ever I spoke with in nearby shops/stores, they asked to leave with them. Highly suggest to come by public transportation and carry cash for payment and with only limited and needed documents. 2. Parking - Though there is parking sign board opp to Consulate, but is not as near as you would think. You may end up parking on street little far from office on busy roads. 3. Hotel : There are few hotels around and in walking distance. Suggest to reserve rooms here if traveling from outside City. Also nearby areas you wont run short of essentials. 4. There are 2 entrances to building. One for US Citizen services (Entrance On left side of building) and Non Immigrant services (On right side of building). Suggest to be on or before time. US Citizen services like PP renewal, SSN etc. So if you are visiting for these purposes, then straight away head to entrance on left side. Security will check all documents before allowing inside. 5. Security / Consulate Staff / Officers - Very polite / Soft spoken and friendly. 6. Suggest to carry all required Original documents and photocopies where specified. In case if you forgot to carry photocopy, then they would charge $1 per copy. 7. Mode of Payment - NO DEBIT CARDS accepted. You can carry unsoiled currency in USD or INR (as mentioned in website), they also accept DD (again refer to website for details), and credit cards. Please ensure you have enabled International transaction. 8. There are courier expenses (Bluedart) for delivery of the document. Minimum INR 865 for single document shipment. They too accept Card and Cash. 9. Process : Usually took around an hour for entire process to complete. Once you enter main entrance and enter inner office, you need to show appointment letter and Original document (Passport) and token will be issued post verification. You then proceed to waiting area where you watch on screen when your token is displayed and counter you need to visit. Once your token is called, Consulate staff will verify all documents (Original and Photocopies) before accepting and sending back to waiting area for next step which is to make payment. Again wait for token to be called to proceed to cash counter where you need to make payment. Refer to Step 7. Once payment is completed and you have received payment receipt, again you will be asked to wait for final step. Once token called & displayed on screen, you will go to counter where US Consulate officer will complete the formalities. Officer will provide timelines for sending document (based on purpose of visit) and then ask you to go to Bluedart counter where you will fill in a form where you want passport or other document to be dispatched. Post that you make your way out of consulate office. Note : 1. There are sufficient chairs in waiting area. 2. Temperature is good, I felt cold though. 3. You have drinking water and rest rooms near waiting area. 4. Multiple screens where you can see counter where you need to visit, combined with Audio just in case if you missed to see. 5. You can find Auto for drop back home/place where you want to go next. Best thing I liked was Auto ride after soooo many days & not carrying smart phone for little over 2.5 hours :)

Fully organised and well planned To start with, this place is just beside the Visa application centre where one gives fingerprints and photo is taken. I was applying for a B2 tourist visa for the family. We reached the consulate 30 minutes late for a 9.30am appointment and upon checking with security was asked to stand in the actual line outside the consulate. Lot of places outside with locker facilities to keep your bags and mainly mobile phones. After 15 minutes standing outside in the line, we enter the premises where you are seated to wait for your turn for security screening. Families with infants and senior citizens are given preference to skip the line. In batches of 10 to 12, people are given trays to put all items inside the the tray. Remember even belts have to be placed. No phones or electronics are allowed. Guess this is a global rule for all US embassies across the world. Also, remember no SEALED covers are allowed. Couple of chewing gums left in my pocket were taken as well. Be mindful and check your documents. Security team is very professional and check thoroughly. After the security screening, you will be asked to sit again for 10 minutes to complete finger print checks. We had to join another line for 10 minutes to provide our child's photo who could not get a proper photo taken previous day in VAC. Remember this is for children below 14 yrs old for whom no finger prints are taken. Post the review of the photo, we had our finger prints verified and again made to sit for 10 minutes. Now is the actual interview where you will proceed in a line which takes about 10 to 15 minutes before you are assigned a token for the counter where consular officer will interview you for the Visa. Had taken a lot of documents for B2 tourist visa but was asked couple of questions and passports taken to be delivered to my house. If your Visa is rejected, passport will be returned with a form. Overall, process is streamlined and people to assist you all the way. Never felt anyone irritated to answer you. Hope this will help you be prepared for the interview. Thanks

Few points to consider for NON Residents of Hyderabad : (Below review based on visit in April 2023). The location is very nice, beautiful surroundings in Nankaramguda / Gachobowli. 1. Shuttles available from Raidurg Metro Station till US Consulate in every 15-30 mins at a fee (approx Rs 50) . Auto's charge - Rs. 70 (Shared) - 150. 2. Public Buses available from Raidurg Metro Stn To ICICI Bank Towers in Financial District, Gachibowli - takes approx 45mins. The US conulate is 0.5 KM from the stop - 15 mins by walk. 3. NO Food Counters near to consulate (So eat n go OR carry till consulate !!) 4. DO NOT CARRY ANYTHING Other than your Documents in a transparent file & Plastic transparent bag. Mobile will not be allowed inside. FOOD/Water nothing allowed. For Women / kids, they may allow very small bag, but it depends. 5. NO LOCKER Facility nearby or at the consulate. So if you carry anything other than Documents, you may have to handover to someone you can trust. 6. There is NO Roof shade / Seating (15-20 ) Area outside for appointees / their attendees..So reach 15 mins ahead of your appointment time. May need to stand in Rain / Hot Sun for 15-45 mins. Hope they had made some roof shade for people. 7. Person accompanying Candidates will be asked to stand on opposite road (Little Rude). There is no place to sit. The Consulate may have arranged Locker /Seating facility & charge for the service ! IT IS DIFFICULT For Outsiders particularly for Kids, Women & Elderly. This needs a consideration. 8. For Localites, NO PARKING . Not sure why they didn't consider this !! 9. Be prepared to answer correctly based on the type of Visa you are applying. Dress neat, give precise answer. Generally it takes 45 mins to 1.5 hr from the time you enter the Consulate. 10. If you follow what the Consulate have mentioned (DO's / DON'T), avoid unnecessary items , its smooth process. Good Luck.

You people (USA VISA DEPARTMENTS) are looting students' money and valuable time. Reasons: 1) When a student is paying 13500 for a visa interview why he has to wait several days and nights to book a slot and at the same time how can some agents are booking the same slots. This is purely business and scam. 2) At interview visa officer refuses the candidate by issuing 214(b) stating that he has no intention to come back to their home country after 2 years of masters. How can he know the student's intention? Is that visa interview officer being a god? If that is the problem, then why are you offering F1 VISA with 2+3 years? 3) If a student got refused by 214b then why are you giving a chance for reapplying? Does his intention change? Do you know that his intention will change for next time? 4) If the reason stated in214b is genuine then you have to keep the rule for F1 visa with only 2 years, then who have the actual intension of staying in USA will drop by themselves. With this type of worst culture, genuine people interested to return back are getting refused and who wants to stay there are getting approved. 5) Who are genuinely interested only for masters will apply and pay the fees and come to the interview. 6) With this type of fraud culture of bringing students till the visa process after submitting all educational, financial evidence and paying fees and refusing them by saying silly reason of 214b you are spoiling students' career. 7) After paying interview fees please keep the slots available based on their university start date and issue F1 with only 2 years or same as course duration. so that only the genuine people will apply and come forward.

Please remember to take metro to Rasoolpura station. It is hardly 3 mins walk from the station to the US C G building. The auto charges hefty amount and if you are an outsider, struggling is real. The locales don't know the address and place as well. Either take Ola to US CONSULATE GENERAL and NOT paigah palace. Also, it was too crowded so it took more than 1 hour for us to enter and exit the building on 11th Aug. Kindly, manage your trip accordingly. F1 students MUST carry your STAMPED DS160, Form I20 and passport. Also keep the Sevis fee receipt handy. They'll check your passport and stamped DS160 before letting you enter the gates. There will be a guard to check your face with that in your passport. So hand your passport to him and take it when entering the gates. Now head to waiting area with chairs where you'll be provided trays to keep all the documents and items like belt, watch, bangles, kadas and stuff. Once announced row wise, stand and queue up towards the buildings door to enter for your security check up. Exit the gates and pick your items before following the only path and proceed straight to your right. You'll be asked to stand in line and sumit your passports. Wait for your names to be called, get your finger prints and face check done. Take your passport and follow the other line which will hand you the counter ticket. Take your token and proceed to the counter as written on the walls of the building. They'll collect your passport at your counter. When it's your turn, hand over the F1 to the officer and answer their questions confidently. All the best!

The management is very well connected and genuine. You might wonder how this place regularly gets negative ratings, it is obviously because people who get their visa rejected are deeply hurt and wants to take it out on somewhere. I’ll let you know what you can expect here, or more sensibly, what you should, This is US Consulate General, issuing a US Visa is difficult for them, they have to cross-verify all the rules laid down by the US Govt and make sure that the person whom they grant Visa doesn’t try to settle there without permission. If you believe you were very eligible for the Visa but still got rejected, don’t blame USA because they are doing it based on their past experiences with earlier candidates and don’t blame Consulate either because they’re just exercising the laws meant for them, think of it as they’re not enjoying in their own country so they can let you go their country. They will greet you with a smile, ask questions based on your profile and reason behind application and if they reject you, they wont give you explanation neither they will take any explanation, so don’t go in that route. Overall, If you are a tourist, I would advise you to visit other counties first, as much as you can before going to US, so they can identify you as ‘genuine’ tourist and grant visa. I don’t know about work, job visa etc.

**Important Information in my post** Liked it very much since the process was very smooth. I applied for my B1/B2 and I can share the experience. I did my Biometrics in Chennai and had to reschedule Visa Interview in Hyderabad due to closed US Consulate office in lieu of demise of Tamil Nadu's CM Jayalalitha, on the day of my interview. In Hyderabad, when I reached one of the reschedule handling counters, a very nice lady asked me for a photo since the biometrics were done on my old DS-160 and I was appearing with a new form having some minor changes such as travel dates etc. She was very helpful and allowed me to go out for getting photos handing me a call back letter which I had to show to staff so that they allow me without having to wait in queues again. Came back and the same lady replaced the bar code on my PP and linked it to my new application. Went further into another line and got my visa approved. Wonderful! Therefore, please do note that if you have rescheduled a Non-immigrant visa(B1/B2 in my case) "after" you are done with your biometrics on one DS-160, and appearing on another DS-160 form for the interview, you need one 2"x2", white background passport size photo along with your new DS-160 confirmation printout. I don't know about other types of visas but I'm sure there would be similar rules for them.

I was here in 2013. The reason I'm reviewing it now is because of my totally contrasting experience with the US Consulate in Chennai. I was at the embassy for my first time ever visa (B1/B2 for a conference) in March, and then for a J1 visa in August , 2013. Both times the way the people were treated and the numbers controlled was orderly and done by polite staff. After lining up outside on the pavement we were allowed in based on interview timing. The grounds are beautiful and at each step there was plenty of seating. They follow a token system and after taking the token also you can sit and wait until you are called to the counter. For my tourist visa I was given a white slip and within a few hours of my interview I received an email from the consulate requesting necessary information indicating they are prompt and efficient. They also did keep my passport, but I got it back with the visa in 3 weeks. In August my J1 visa was approved at my interview and I got my passport back in a few days. Overall, I think the way the process is handled here - the way the interview candidates are handled, the seating and orderly token system- makes for a smooth experience.

It's like going to tirupathi and boarding a flight mixed No electronics A board in front indicates which slot people are allowed in Time slot in appointment is only for entry and not actual interview Steps: 1. Roadside passport check 2. Entry in small (5-10) batches 3. Waiting area seats (micro vikuntam) 4. Security scanning 5. Waiting area seats (under a shared path) 6. Fingerprint to human verification (two indians will scan your passport and ask for your fingerprint (left 4 fingers), an American personal will verify the same) 7. Get the interview booth token queue 8. Interview booth line 9.interview (typically 5 to 10 mins) family can go together 10. Exit (failure or success). In case of failure you come back with your passport loosing your visa fees. Notes: lots of ushers who take charge of where you sit , stand and go. The workflow has been optimized for workload and time efficiency of American embassy people and to reduce crowding . Opinion: keep 2 hours for this activity, more if you have any anomalies. Interviewers are always thinking for USA (rightfully) and intwerviewee comes second always. They are courteous but not friendly.

Have been to the new US consulate at Nankramguda. This was their second week after the inauguration of all services last week. Except for a huge building with a wider road blocked by barricades, there are absolutely zero facilities at this $340 million bldg for ppl. No parking zones, no locker facilities, delayed services for ACS. Passport renewal took 1+ hour just with 4 appointments that were waiting ahead of me n with just 1 window operational for interviews when everything else related to document verification n fee payment was already done by their staff. Things have to improve a lot on the operations part as they are charging a bomb for courier services within city limits for a passport with no option to pick up. For visa appointments, there is no reprise for ppl standing outside the consulate in this weather till they r called in. The conclusion that I could make as of now is that anyone going for visa/ACS services keep these things in mind n have someone with u to drop, keep ur electronic gadgets with them till these guys think about this or any private firm gets into this business of giving these services.

US VISA PHOTO + BIOMETRIC SCANS This is the place for getting the finger print scanning and Photo taken. Google maps points to the wrong location if you search the address mentioned in your Appointment Confirmation page.I've raised a query to the Visa Website team to add a GMaps link to the location if possible on their website so that people don't miss it. Review - Well Organised, not like a Government building. Bad Things - 1. No place to keep your belongings. They won't let hand bags and other things inside. Thankfully I didn't haev anything expensive. So I kept my bag outside (along with other bags). 2. Parking facility is not clear. I'm not sure if there is any proper place for parking vehicles of applicants. Everyone was parking in 'No parking' zones, and some unfortunate souls had to pay the police officers. Police offices randomly picks bikes and locks them. My suggestion would be to either take an auto to get here, or come here with a bike/car that looks old (so that they would skip your vehicle and try some rich guy's vehicle)

Went to pick up CRBA and Passport. Passport Ready Notification email, said to bring email printout and Govt issued ID. So I did. At the front gate, the guard inspected my Passport and email, then asked me for baby’s ID. I informed him, she doesn’t have one as she’s only a month old and I’m coming to pick up her passport. At that point he asked for baby’s Birth Certificate. I informed him the email didn’t mention anything about bringing BC , he said we have to HAVE the BC. Luckily I had a copy of certificate. He then called inside the consulate to find out, if he could accept the BC copy. Literally took him 10 minutes to get the Okay. Once inside and after picking up the documents, I informed the lady behind counter what happens and said if BC is that important, you should have mentioned that in the email, as to avoid coming back and wasting my time. Honestly it felt like she couldn’t care less about the whole thing. Anyways, if anyone is going to pick up CRBA and Passport, do carry baby’s original BC along with you.

Took 2 hours to finish and come out. Received passport collection email on 3rd working day from the day of my consular interview. Though it is recommended to be there 15 mins before your appointment time, i have seen them allowing admission to folks who has an appointment even an hour later. So it doesn’t matter if you reach early or little late (though being late is not suggested). I am saying this after i personally confirmed this fact with the embassy personal outside the gate who verify your passport and appointment letter. You have washrooms and some refreshments available to buy inside near the waiting hall and plenty of seating throughout this process. No free parking but only paid parking available in the vicinity. I parked at the next lane in Gowra Trinity (not the same lane as Chiran fort lane but the behind one which is towards VAC). Usually charges Rs. 20 for two wheeler for a day and not on hourly basis unlike many others do.

I visited today to attend interview for applying Business/Tourism visa (B1/B2). First waited in outside shade for around 8 mins while seated. Next waited for 5 mins in line for security check. Once cleared security, waited first while seating and later in line for 6 mins to get fingerprints checked. Next while seated waited around 6 mins for consular interview round. Again I waited 4-5 mins standing in line to go to window. Asked questions on my current job and family US status and denied visa. Typical questions were, "So what is your purpose of visit to US unless you are visiting US to get a job in your current company?". "When was the last time your family in US visited you?". "How much are you earning here?". "What is your role in current company?""What is your percentage of business activity during this visit?" Your visa is denied and this is the form to read to know reason. I came from same route to exit consulate.

The worst experience we had at any consulate in several years. We attended interview along with an infant. Security made us discard the baby formula we brought. And there is a big line inside even though ours is 8.15 slot and arrived early and there is no priority lane for families with infant. When we asked for priority they are commanding for a valid reason, as if having infant is not a priority. After half an hour of wait and my baby started crying and we are trying to calm him down and security came and asking us to sit down. When we showed anger after 30 mins they gave priority for us. Now we don’t have any baby milk left and it took several hours to reach home and no milk to feed the crying baby. Staff was like they want to show the superiority and authority with arrogance. Interview was smooth though.

One of the most friendly foreign institution to care the visiting applications... many paid services like photograph shoot, lockers ( you can carry only documents) eateries..of course VISA guidance... well groomed security men and officials are here to guide you with complimentary smile and comfortable answers... most scintillating services are: breastfeeding centre... free drinking water.. .washrooms...alas the snack bar is an apology for those who need something to eat..if you are going for an interview..since mobiles are not allowed inside ...beware of carring some reading material as there is nothing available for mental food.. Rest a cool encounter...thanks to US CG Hyderabad

  • Krishna M

Good place with nice staff. Mostly everyone enters with some tension like how the place may be, where to go, whom need to ask if we have any doubt like etc. As per my experience no need to worry about anything. Starting with the entrance gate for each and every step you will see the direction guided by the staff before you feel to ask. Coming to car parking you can have paid parking beside and in front of the consulate building. They don't allow mobiles, electronic devices and smart watches from the entrance gate. So better to keep them in your car or at the wellwishers who came along with you or you can place them in private locker in front of the entrance gate of the consulate.

I went with my uncle for b1 visa, yesturday given his thumb and Irish photo had taken at US Visa Application Centre Government office · Metro Station Hitech City, Lower Concourse, Hitech City Rd. Today we went for visa application process U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad Foreign consulate · Nanakaramguda. They have rescheduled the appointment 12 th December to 14 th December without notice. If we ask security we don't know they said we forwarded the information. Check email or SMS. I came with 79 years aged person by a rental car. Who bare this all expenses.... & time etc. If they provide any paper proof for rescheduled that's very very and veryhelfull to all dear

The security people should not make the Consulate visitors (and Applicants) stand on the road, outside the premises. Very unorganized and discourteous. This shows no respect towards the visitors and Indian people (even older people who may be diabetic or having other medical conditions). US consulate should provide proper waiting place within the Consulate Building with drinking water. US, being flag bearer of human rights, should practice at their Embassies and Consulates as well, not just in their country. The behavior of the Consulate staff with the applicants inside is rude, discourteous and unprofessional.

  • Seetharam Vemuri

Recently visited here for my F1 visa - everything is well organised and maintained covid related precautions. They allow you 15 mins before your time slot, I recommend going 30 mins earlier - NOT MORE THAN THAT. You will be having a security check inside and there are staff along the way guiding you towards visa interview location. I have waited for 5 mins initially at the counter and entire process got completed in 20 mins from the entry at main gate. NO PARKING this is the same scenario with chennai biometrics as well and they don’t allow parents to stay on roads or nearby. Please check on parking.

  • Saketh Reddy Velapati

An amazing place built to serve people in the most pleasant way possible. One of the neatest place in the city! Everyone from the gate guard to the purple dressed guide were pleasant and cooperative. Needless to say, the consular officers, even after processing a hundred applications through out the day, greet you with a lovely smile and that takes away all the anxiety you've accumulated. Be sure of all your documents and be honest, you'll be guaranteed a Visa. The parking is just beyond the Consulate, in a function hall parking area. As of July 2017, you'll be charged 50/- hourly for parking.

  • Akshay Shelar

This is Asia's biggest us consulate office but their management is worst. They process more than 2000 visa application every day but even though they have 54 windows only 6-7 interview windows are open. Waiting time is too much and auto taxi driver takes double charges for pick up and drop. Nanakaramguda area is away from city centre so for applicants it's difficult to find stey and travel. I came here for interview from Mumbai Maharashtra I got my J1 visa approved. But standing in queue for hours and watching others getting rejected made me tensed. Management need to be more prompt.

  • Vikram Krishnaraya

To park, pass the Embassy (on your right) for a furlong. There are paid parking services on your right. INR 50 till you're back. Inside the embassy. There is a pretty set streamlined process. Staff is very courteous. But things take time. Even if you are a US Citizen. Took me a good 2 1/2 hours to get my kid's passport renewed. Felt way longer than the Visa process. But again they are probably understaffed due to Covid. So ain't right to judge. Special kudos to the security staff who were pretty nice to my kid. Not easy to wait without food and water for his age.

  • Ravindra Vangipuram

Been there after 8 long years. Big campus. You will need to come here on two separate dates. Once for fingerprint verification and second time for the interview. Fingerprint verification is done in Gowra Grand building and interview is easy to identify as you can see long queue. Make sure to reach the spot atleast 1 hour before your alloted time. You won't be allowed to carry mobile phone inside and there is a locker with charges around 50 INR to put your valuables. Parking is also available (could be full on weekdays) and with charges 50 rupees per hour.

  • Srinivas Akula

Worst experience today with the Parking facility here. I don't know why they didn't allow into their parking lot, though it seemed pretty free. And our AllTime-Rude police people were there to show unprofessional attitude with public. And there're no facilities for visitors, all the visitors should wait/sir outside on the roadside platform. Imagine if it's an afternoon on a summer day. Somebody should take necessary actions to resolve the parking problems soon. I couldn't see any option to raise a complaint on this in their website.

  • Sai Ganesh

Visited this place for my father and mother's US Tourist Visa. They didn't provide seating for thousands of applicants and their ones. I wish they provide some minor sitting for people as they have to stand for long time and Parking for all the four wheelers they are parked on roads. I think the TS government or the US consulate should handle this. That is the only regret i had when I visited this place in my life. Everything else was fine and good and was done professionally.

  • chandan sarvagnya

Pleasantly surprised with the good experience. I read horror stories of long lines extending on to the main road but when I visited there was only a small line, the security officers were polite. You cannot take your phone, there's no parking allowed on premises, you can ask someone to drop you for you appointement, you can borrow phone from the secuirty officer after your appointment. Nobody has to wait outside the embassy when you're inside there are good restaurants nearby.

  • Anusua Ghose

Very systematic and fast moving process. Carry your own mask and leave all devices in your car. There are lockers to keep your phones near the Gowra Grand building but better to leave it in your vehicle if you are taking one. Paid parking at 50/- at the end of the lane. It's a short, couple of mins walk from there to the building. All security personnel both at the annex building and main consulate were polite, informed, and helpful. All you need to do is follow instructions.

  • ABS

US Consulate General in Hyderabad is wonderful in its work efficiency. But do not carry cellphones, bangles, gold etc.. there is a locker system provided for Rs. 100 per day. You can keep your bag in it. Other than the material in the bag please do not carry heavy luggage there is no place to keep. Only they allow your file to be taken inside. But they provide wonderful service, very systematic and efficient. You will not feel burdened. Enjoy your stay at the Consulate.

VISA Process is well organised and staff is very efficient and friendly. Time spent within the document drop off building was around 20 minutes and the entire process was completed within this time. Parking facility, waiting room, xerox, printout and photo booth are all available within 50 meters of the main building. Kindly note that mobile phones, smart watches or any kind of Bluetooth or wireless accessories are not allowed inside the building.

I am not sure whether Telangana State police and private security are in trans mode or is it the pre treatment of white folks on Indians. No waiting area, No Parking, No basic amenities for visitors, it just feels like we are some goats or buffalos left outside on aisles of footpaths to graze the Grass! And we pathetic Indians are still begging for US visas.. I am calling this including the folks with whom I have been there as a visitor!!

  • Akshata Sawant

It's a well equipped facility with modern architecture. Although the biggest con is that they don't have locker facility yet and people are trained to be totally unempathetic and rude. Not everyone comes with an attender or have their own vehicle to keep their belongings. It was mentally traumatic experience to begin with. Rest everything else is fine. The process is smooth and once you enter the embassy it is pleasant enough.

It's a vintage place, a part of palace converted into consulate. Parking is available one lane to the left and also locker to leave your bags and collect print out of any missing documents. Courteous and professional staff to guide you throughout. For non locals which are most of the applicants, if you happen to arrive early and as there is no waiting area you can use the mosque which is 5 mins walk ahead of the embassy.

  • Sitaram Byadegera

Ambience inside the complex was good. But huge number of persons including many Old and aged people were made to stand and wait for long hours on the pavement opposite to the embassy building without any shelter from Sun or rain. GHMC authorities should take up construction of some sort of long shelter with benches. People especially women were suffering for want of any washroom or toilet facilities at the place.

  • prakash malla

It was a nice experience here in Hyderabad Consulate as I have visited Mumbai Consulate for my B1 Visa. Its more easy here in Hyderabad compare to Mumbai as the facility is much better. But yes, once you are inside the gate then there is no queue at all. All is first come first serve. Parking is nice too as we have many options. I opted to park my car in front of begum palace by paying Rs 50/hr, which is decent.

  • najma begum

There is no facility for sitting or waiting hall for the applicants.. people have to sit on footpath until their slot comes.. there are no arrangements for applicants to sit or wait at least for the aged people.. all has to wait on footpath in the sun which is really not good.. I believe going too early is a waste of time..we can be there half an hour before our slot time to have a hassle free experience...

Services in this new U.S. Consulate started on Mar 20, 2023 after the move from the Paigah Palace in Begumpet. The new state-of-the-art $340 million building represents a tangible investment in growing the US-India Strategic Partnership. Spread across a sprawling 12-acre site, this is the largest US consular processing campus in-South East Asia, both in terms of the number of visa windows and in area.

  • Srinivas Lanka

People complaining abt parking, I too had apprehensions regarding parking of my 4 wheeler. But, Today 05/10/23, i visited the place. There is Spacious Parking place right opposite to Consulate.,at IT Corridor, Police Cheque Post. Just cross Consulate, take right turn. Its just 100 mtrs from the Consulate. Some 100s of cars can be parked. Police dont deny for parking, its free, safe and hassel less.

The US consulate in Hyderabad was built in Nanakramguda, Financial District on 20 March 2023. Spread across a sprawling site this is the largest US consular processing campus in Southeast East Asia, both in terms of the number of visa windows and in area. The project’s sustainable design, construction, and operations display the best of U.S. architecture, engineering, and construction execution.

  • SRI DURGA BHAVANI GUDE

The embassy was good you have to undergo two security checks you will have lockers to keep stuff and carry the required documents of you are f1 student, they will tell you keep i20 , passport sevis fee ds160 in handy , make sure to be confident and answer your questions please mention your intent of us visit and your return to India Pov: I was rejected in hyd consulate hope i get visa next time

  • Rudra Samal

Went for my kid's passport renewal. Process is pretty smooth, if you take all the required documents and arrange in the needed order. Reach before 15 mins as it takes time for security check. They are taking all necessary precautions for COVID. Just make sure not to wear any smart watch as that is prohibited. The employees are very helpful and clarify all your questions related to US passport.

  • amar amar

I just wanted add some help on car parking : there are car parking places near US consulate for 20Rs/hour, if you are parking in the palace ground beside the consulate, you have to pay 50Rs/hour, there will be one unauthorized person who direct you to 50 Rs parking.. please be aware, enquire before you park. or use GHMC parking lot near begumpet for 10Rs/hour, use htp.gov.in to locate parking

  • Abhay Kumar

Not many people know about the consulate. I need to ask for directions as google maps took me to the parallel road next to it. If you need directions ask for Passport office, its on the same road. Paid parking available for both 2 and 4 wheeler near embassy. There is a place that offers locker facility for Rs 100 right in front of embassy Gate 1.Lockers are big enough to store small bags.

  • Bindu P

All basic expectations from conular office are met. But they need to improve few things. In US Passport renewal section they took 3 hours to process our file. Only 2 windows open other than cash. Children get hungry tired and bored. We got a parking ticket even though parked on road side where all cars were parked. Either speed up or sell some food items inside.

  • Deepika Goru

Their office timings might say they work between 10-5 but these geniuses won't mention in the email what time they are open to get your passport picked up but they sure like to play with you if you arrive after 4pm. For god's sake, be there before 3:30. Otherwise, they're so ruthless, they'll just send you back even if you travelled from a whole different city.

  • Jyothi Anne

Respect less behavior from staff No proper facilities for the people coming for visa My parents just went for a visa interview They suffered a lot from standing in the line, not only them every senior citizens in the line suffered a lot, they should atleast provide some chairs for the people coming right? Also the staff were being impolite with the citizens.

  • venkar80

They should build some roof outside..., all applicants including children, old people, need to stand outside, even if it is raining or hot sun.. All your original certificates and passports are at high risk if you don't have proper protection during the rainy season. No lockers here, No restrooms, No place to sit for the people waiting outside.

  • Jyothi Prakash Ventrapragada

No space allocated for parking, drive around and park on the curb side. If you are lucky, you will get it in consulate road. I ended up parking almost 1.5 KM away. Smart watches are not allowed, make sure you leave them before standing in line. Used Citizen services for passport renewal, process took almost 2.5 hrs., which I felt little long.

  • Sasin Productions

Not sure if every one can wait so so long for getting the passport back. Those were good days when we used to get passport back in 3days delivered at home. Now it takes 10days to who knows ( fingers crossed everyday). Can we please get back the good old days ( where everyone can get passport back in 2-3 business days after the interview )

  • Sabih Uz Zaman

They don't have parking and all the security guards just asks you to go away anywhere, they're not concerned where you go, you should not even stop vehicle anywhere near to consulate. I understand there could be security reasons but there should be parking for people who have appointments and guards need to go through etiquette trainings

  • Indra Shekhar Rao

The change of address for U.S. Visa drop box is causing severe difficulty for seniors it was planned to shift to Financial district. We reached there no reply then, came to Gachibowli Metro Station. Then put in que for 2 hours. The whole process is a big torchure. It can be made more communicative and comfortable.

  • Md Iberaheem

100% satisfied with US department of state, US consulate general and USIEF. guidance with true and perfect information really great staff and hospitality. apply with genuine documents and always be real true, always follow official information don't trust consultancies are misleading regrading US visa process

  • lavanyasri neeli

Big space is allotted to US consulate but No parking for applicant vehicles, no waiting rooms for the persons went with applicants. All have to wait under the road side trees out side the us consulate. Worst handling of securities. Not sure why Indian govt won’t consider all these while going for the deal.

  • Kamal J

Worst experience. No parking , too much security. They will not allow phone inside . At the security checks we have to remove even belt and ladies their bangles. Phones and bangles are even allowed in flights. I find no logic in their security check..all in all i will avoid going again to this palace.

  • SATYA SRINIVAS

Worst experience had while associating my mother for VISA, no vehicle parking facility, no waiting room, no washroom facility. All have to wait outside on the footpath without shelter. Many senior citizens, children ladies are there as applicants / associates. Basic amenities are not there at all.

  • Jagan Mohan Rao R

For Visa, aspirants of Masters degree in USA are visiting American consulate. While coming out from Consulate few are feeling very happy and few depressed. It is wonderful that, Indian universities are providing good syllabus at Post graduate programs. IIT are providing world class education.

  • Prathik Krishnan

finding it is the worst part. tell ur taxi to goto passport office secunderabad. the building is right there just ask around for visa photo taking to the security. the gowra grand address creates a confusion. reach half hour before the appointment. it takes only 5 to 10 minute to be through.

  • Pavan Guda

The security people should show some respect towards the public and US consulate should provide proper waiting place with shelter. Should not make wait on roads for long hours… only maintaining the good work place is not enough but also should make some common sense for how to treat people.

  • SP K

On our land US fellows made us stand in a line in the rain. Not allowed to carry umbrellas, no cloakroom even. No proper facilities around for applicants and care takers. No parking facility. Not even chairs for senior citizens, Made then stand under a roof in rain for an hour or so.

  • Syeda Sana

There is no place for parking, and even you have to stand in a line for 1 to 2hrs and they was taking interviews like in a seconds and give rejections and even they didn't see any documents they just rejected, and they behave rudely specially the translators.... very disappointed

  • Farath Ali Irfan

The US Hyd consulate is the largest diplomatic office in Asia. Fabulous building, which has 54 interview counters to serve applicants from erstwhile states of Telengana, Andhra & Orissa. And every visitor's experience is different when it comes to interviews. All the best.!!!

  • Ritesh Das

Went here for my kids US passport renewal. Tip: Do not carry any bagpack, laptop bag etc only documents are allowed inside. No electronic equipment allowed no mobiles, no smart watches, Fitbits etc. Keep them in your car or in locker services (₹150/-) just near the entrance.

  • narasimha dev mallubhotla

I faced lot of difficulty in waiting under sun for my turn, as there is no shelter opposite the consulate office. It would be better if the concerned authorities make some arrangement for the applicants, especially, senior citizens to make the waiting less inconvenient.

  • Megha

Big Space. Very well maintained. Courteous staff. But no parking for applicants and visitors. This is a major drawback as one should keep on hovering around wasting a lot of time, fuel and patience. However boards are placed directing for parking but it is just useless.

  • Ranjith Kumar Kotra

Very well maintained consulate. Don’t carry your phone or any electronic devices like smart watch. They don’t have any locker facility yet. Better to leave your phone at car. Staff is polite. Just follow the instructions and your appointment gets over as planned.

  • ABHINAV PURANAM

I went there for my L2 visa. The process was easy but very time consuming. My slot was at 9:15 but went inside 9:30 cuz there was a heavy rush and out of 41 counters only 4 were Operational. The people got frustrated and were quarreling with the security guards.

  • D Dev

Parking is not there even big space also they not given parking Previous office in Begumpet secunderabad is best looks like small but parking available Here road side parking and police wala challan given Taking photos of vehicle Where can all park

  • Venkateshwar Rao Kolluru

The inside experience of the consulate is good but we have parking problem at this consulate. Anyways once the newly constructing consulate at Financial district opens then this problem will be addressed. The new consulate is upto latest standards.

  • NP P

Paid parking facility is available in the Passport Seva Kendra building which is very close to the embassy. There are a couple of A/C waiting halls very close by, which are great for the people waiting outside, especially in the summer. I …

  • PR K

The US Consulate General, Hyderabad office has a big campus but there is no facility to sit for the people who are accompanying the VISA applicants. No vehicle parking place and toilet facilities. People are literally standing on the road.

  • Nisit Mandla

It's very discouraging to see that there are no restrooms, waiting lounges for the needful veterans in such a world class US Consulate office. Neither visitors parking nor any lockers for the aspirants . So sad to see these discrepancies

  • JATLA SWAMY

Interview process started on time and very efficiently managed. Only drawback is some waiting room with wash rooms to be provided for the parents and gaurdians who accompany the candidates. Just imagine the situation in rainy season.

  • Maruti Nori

The cashier does not know how HDFC Bank demand draft looks. Made us sit for 40 mins until she called the bank and confirmed. Locker place opposite was charging 200 rupees. Even print out for 4 pages black and white costed 50 rupees.

  • Raheem Abdul

All are good except arrangement of que line. Kindly arrange cement benches all along the path to sit the old people. The staff and the American consulate personal are very kind enough with the applicants. Thankyou very much …

  • karunakar rudra

Today visited embassy for renewal of my kid US passport, completed within 1 h, nice place, security persons and staff are friendly, polite and informative. Only concern is no car parking and no waiting area for the family members.

  • Nipun Nath IC

I had a great experience here when I visited for my B1/B2 Visa interview. There is no Visitor’s parking or seating for accompanying guests. There are locker services behind the compound, which is a short walk from the main gate.

  • Pavan Pasumarti

Worst embassy. My wife submitted her passport through dropbox and still didn’t receive it. It is been more than a month and still the status i showing as Administrative Processing. When we drop a mail we just get a static reply.

  • purna rao

Consulate is well laid for the convenience of the Visa applicants Staff is quite helpful at all levels They should consider to provide / arrange a decent waiting hall to the people who are waiting for their turn

  • viswanath kollepara

Ask for passport office its better many will know and you can safely use the lockers provided by hotel wala near for mobile and back packs as consulate will not allow them inside and VAC is also near there only

  • Mohammed Mustafa Ali

Worst facility management team… Architect and key stakeholders should have been practical in considering parking, waiting spaces and visitor amenities… Impolite behaviour from the external security staff…

  • Surya Pramod

Always a good experience to me at US Consulate in Hyderabad! Be disciplined and prepare your objectives before you deliver your interview. Be clear and precise during your interview and stay motivated!

  • vin vc

It's good, a least out side the consulate not much crowd, parking is available at different levels, some places its 40/Hr but if u drive little ahead ull get 50/- for entire day, dats better …

  • Soutik Das

Should have given 0 star. Playing with time and patience of people. Taking more than month to issue visa for approved I-797, no transparency for work. Worst visa service by a consulate in the country,

  • Shiva kumar Kakarla

The staff were good and process was explained at each step. Just ensure you don't have sealed envelopes, as you might have to come out and go in. The food counter is closed inside currently.

  • Sathvik N

The best way to reach here is using Metro. Electronics are not allowed for drop off center, use paid lockboxes if needed. Takes approximately 20mins for appointment or even less for pickup.

  • Nani Prashanth

No parking space allocated for vehicles. No roof to stand at least in rainy weather there should be some place allocated for applicant and visitor with applicant. Very bad experience

  • Venkat M

NO PARKING SPACE AVAILABLE. There is a fake banner that says ‘US CONSULATE APPLICANTS PARKING PLACE,’ but you need to park next to the curb (ICAI lane) at your own risk.

  • Manish Bahadur

Nice place with quick service. Reach ~20-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment as there are checkpoints which takes 15-20 minutes (depending upon the queue).

  • KVinod chowdary

No vehicle parking facility, No waiting room, no washroom facility. All have to wait outside on the footpath without shelter.Basic amenities are not there at all.

  • Balamani K

The police is doing a good job. They are courteous and guide each individual. The only disappointment is you have to bear the beggars....its a BIG nuisance there.

  • A Kantheti

There is no place available for parking. Even visiters also not allowed to stand even road side also. G4S Security people also treating like beggars. Worst part.

  • JANAGAMA SWETHA

Go to consulate atleast 1 hour prior to your visa interview time. Your parent or guardian can stay in front of consulate under the trees without any problem

  • Sandeep

People who visit with their family members have to wear a diaper, as there are no restrooms. Take Uber instead of driving in your own, no space for parking.

  • Prince Patel

On the ranking of security , Hyderabad consulate#1 in india . There are locker facility available near consulate so don't worry if you're alone. (100 rs).

  • Sumeet Garg

Reached 15 mins early. It took around 30-40 mins inside. Not any lines outside, maybe due to corona. Better parking option if you have early appointments.

  • Vandana Rao

Some suggestions. There could be a waiting hall for those accompanying the applicants. They are made to stand outside. Senior citizens find it difficult

  • Rama Satish Machineni

Pleasant location but No parking for applicant vehicles, no waiting rooms for the persons went with applicants. All have to wait under the road side.

  • SUBBU SUBBU

Attendees don't have any option of staying over there until our child finished the interview. We need to stand under the trees or sir on the footpath.
