The Embassy’s simply does not work based on the broken calendar and inability of everyone to schedule. They closed calendar entirely for nonimmigrant visa interviews. I saw hundreds of people on forums who paid their money for application fees and have been waiting for half a year and have not still got a slot for interview. The calendar is non-stop closed! I called, the lady said that the Embassy closed it on their own! Really the worst experience. I’ve been to ~40 countries including numerous shengens but never had such horrible UX as here. They could have at least SHOWN A BANNER / NOTICE before taking money from people and not giving information of waiting time or about absence of calendar itself. it’s 21st century but the feeling is really like it is 19th. In İstanbul, the first date in schedule is in 13 month (may 2024). And if you want to even schedule it, you’d have to pay again as in the application was chosen a different location (Ankara). And that is the process for the residents! Looks like 100% fraud and an inhumane thing to do. I hope this issue will be brought up somewhere on the upper level and government or aomebody will do something about it. For instance, Shengen visa global centers never take money for nothing! It's all a fraud! Especially after the travel ban on Iranians, in all embassies, this one included, they only give one almost same answer to DV cases, that oh everything is perfectly fine but if only there was no travel ban I could approve of your case! Therefore, NO! You can't go to the US! The officer was rude and he even mocked us, since my husband does not know Farsi, he gave me a pitiful answer in Farsi so my husband won't understand! That was disrespectful. To all Iranians, please don't waste your precious money on this or any other US embassy...

Staff working there and interview very un professional and very very resist, without talking to you they denied you, my mother in law went from iran and my wife from us fly to ankara and spend a lot money then they told her just seat and without asking the question they said no we can not give you visa ,me and my wife we are us business owner and we did present the a lot of document but they treat her like none. i should not give any star but no choice and they are very RUDE and RESIST

The worst employees you can find is at this embassy, I am a US citizen I have been calling them for few days they never pick up the phone. I don't know how these employees got hired at the first place. They don't do their job. State department should review their employees before they start hiring them overseas. Those employees they represent the US government and the state department but unfortunately they're not. Hopefully they read my review.

Very friendly counsler officer Very nice security gaurds Waited inside for more than an hour due to limited staff working during this time (pandimec) A word of advice, we all waited long (2020 PANDIMEC) to get appointments and we're very stressed, so no matter what happens please don't argue or yell at the counsler officer or the gaurds, you will end up being escorted outside the embassy (happned two times in front of me on Jan 2021)

I have an medical emergency and financial hardship and this embassy refuses to approve my expedite request for my husband's case. They don't even review documents and letter statement . I submitted request to expedite the case twice yet getting pretty generic answer like " in order to be fair to other applicants we can not approve it" . Emergency situations should not placed in one queue with other cases. So disappointing

The worst employees I called two times regarding an emergency during the earthquake in Turkey and the guy told me to not call this number again and refused to provide his name and hang up on me twice these people shouldn’t be there I’m a U.S. citizen and these employees are there to help American citizens and represent the United States very unfortunate to have these people to provide service to US citizens which is they don’t!!

Extremely impolite and careless staff. They feel they are entitled to do whatever they want and there is absolutely no ethics even in the most basic form; no customer service whatsoever and the people who handle their public relations (emails, etc.) are simply the worst I have ever seen. they don't even feel the obligation to provide information or confirm taking actions on your case! not recommended at all. simply embarrassing.

I had to reschedule my flight twice because of them, it’s impossible to contact with them, neither by phone nor walk-in, i was there at 3:40pm i was told that they left early because no other appointments left, and the next day I was there with my vaccination card and pcr test, they still don’t let me in earliest available appointment is over a month away, and eventually I had to go to Adana (another city)

Excellent staff, very helpful. Just make sure to print and bring all your documents and be patient. If they can help you they will. Parking is a problem in the area so arrive early, you may have to walk a few blocks. There is a cafe right across the street to hold your backpack, cellphone etc. For US citizens the security will hold your phone.

Very poor communication with no one to help guide you with clear steps. They closed the location without any notice due to bad weather while elders traveled for hours for an appointment and under the same bad weather! they did it twice!

They got the job done, thank you. Things did take a bit longer than expected. They could have done a better job of managing expectations. But, in the end, they did their job thoroughly and professionally. Good job.
