1. As mentioned in many previous reviews, the location is a bit offset here in Google maps. Just navigate to "Hotel Trident, Bandra Kurla Complex" and you shall land in 200 m radius of the consulate gate. Just look out for a big crowd/long lines nearby and you'll know you're there. 2. DO NOT BRING BACKPACKS! If travelling, please consider leaving it at a hotel. If not reserved a hotel (like my case), there will be certain locker shops available at about 2-3 kms distance. Ask the auto-rickshaw drivers and they will be taking you to one of the locker shops. They will record your name and charge ~Rs. 600 for keeping the bags and belongings for an entire day. You may prefer hourly rates if you want but delays happen. The auto will take you back to the consulate and charge about Rs. 150 for the round trip to the shop. The entire process takes ~20-25 mins so plan ahead your interview schedule. 3. Unlike other cases, being here too early won't really help much. So, try being here atleast/max 30-45 mins before your interview and wait at the opposite side of the road (over the footpath). There should be enough trees to provide shade but remember to bring your umbrellas if that's a bother. 4. Don't rush out to the gate side before your slot. Every 15-20 mins, the guards call out the slot timings with a loudspeaker. Only cross the road when called else you face being escorted back by the guards which is rather embarrassing. DO NOT CLICK PHOTOGRAPHS OUTSIDE THE BUILDING! 5. Once called, queue up on the other side. Don't run to beat the queue. Line up patiently. The wait times are significantly lower than the biometric lines. Just show the passport sticker and you'll be allowed inside. No DS-160/appointment conf. required. 6. Once in, just at the entrance, you will be asked to deposit any electronic items (smartwatches, phones, pendrives, earphones, etc.) at the main gate counter. The price is Rs. 50/item. Your name and contact will be recorded against a token. Only stuff allowed in are documents, cash, wallet, analog watches, keys, etc. 7. Again once you enter the building, there will be a security check like the airports where all you as well as all the items you brought in will be scanned. 8. Next you'll be asked to sit in an open waiting area, in a sequence. The rows are called inside the interview room batchwise. 9. Inside the interview room, there will be long lines, but the staff directs the crowd seamlessly. First, they will be asking your passport at a counter for language preference and then record your fingerprints to ascertain your identity. 10. Post verification, you'll be directed to join the respective "interview" line according to your language preference. There are about 42 counters at which all the interviews happen parallelly. You will be asked to line up against a counter at your turn. About my interview experience: 1. Look presentable. This is an interview. Dress up neatly and groom yourself for the same. (A tie helps :)) 2. Irrespective of the language, the visa officers would be speaking to you opposite to a glass window. So, listen VERY carefully to what they ask for. Having an Amercian accent also doesn't help much. 3. The voice issue goes both ways. Be reasonably loud and clear when you answer. Maintain eye contact with a confident smile. 4. They go through your DS-160 profile at the spot and ask things related to your entries. Make sure you remember what you filled. Don't fake anything. General questions are: purpose of trip, nature of occupation, duration of stay, etc. 5. Only give them what they ask for. First they ask for the passport and may ask for other supporting documents so make sure you carry and provide them when required. 6. If you screw up, there are no second chances given. If your passport is returned with a slip, your visa application is rejected. If they keep the passport and return you only a slip, your visa has been approved. Overall, the process takes about 1.5-2 hours. Treat yourself with some food from the canteen in case you make it :) Best wishes!!

Summary: Applied for US Visa on 19th July, 2023, completed successful Visa interview on 07th August, 2023 in Mumbai. You can skip to the respective part for specific information! B1/B2 visa experience: I filled my DS-160 form and completed the payment of VISA fees on 18th July, 2023 via NEFT. On 19th July, 2023 the receipt was generated and I was able to schedule my appointment in August, 2024 for Mumbai. Rescheduling process: Later I got an opportunity to reschedule it to March, 2024, followed by January, 2024 in Mumbai. I had 2 more reschedule left as you can schedule your interview only five times in total. Once the migration to the new website was completed, I got an opportunity to reschedule my biometrics to 06th August, 2023 and the system gave me an error "SGA 15", which I felt could be a bug due to migration. After a few days I found a slot for an Interview on 07th August 2023. Which means the initial biometrics date was successfully stored in the backend and I was able to reschedule it successfully. Visa biometrics process in Mumbai: I reached 30min early and was asked to stand in a queue and was sent inside immediately. So I would recommend reaching 30-45min early. The process was very smooth as we only had to carry DS-160 CONFIRMATION page, Appointment CONFIRMATION page, and passport. They captured my photograph and fingerprints, and applied a sticker on the back of my passport post verification. It took 40min as soon as I stood in the queue for the complete process. Please note: Do not carry any electronics or bags. Just a folder with documents should be sufficient for this process. Ensure you understand what confirmation letters are, as you'll have to pay a heavy amount for printouts which are available by 3rd party providers on the same floor. Also, they have a locker facility for which they charge some amount. If anyone is accompanying you, there is no shelter to stand or sit, rather they'll be asked to stand on a footpath right across the gate. Visa interview in Mumbai: For B1/B2, you only need PASSPORT. Do carry a few supporting documents based on your profile in case of emergency. It took 2 hours for me as the queue was long. You'll first need to get your passport checked at one counter and then the interview will happen on the other counter. It is recommended to reach 45min before your appointment as they will let you in before time. The following questions were asked and my visa was approved: 1) Purpose of visit 2) Duration of stay 3) Who is accompanying you 4) Who is financing the trip 5) No. of years in the industry All the best! Stay safe on telegram channels as 100% of them are scammers as agents are useless in case of US VISA. Edit: I had opted for premium delivery and my passport was delivered on 10th August, 2023.

The place is highly secured. The complete process is very well organised. Consulate personals & security will help you on every point. Ask them in case of any doubt. Most important - Keep your passport handy. That is all that is required. You can deposit your cellphones/other small items near the entry gate for INR 50/item (Keep the tokens provided inside your wallets only, I lost my token at security check but later found it with security help). Wallet, Umbrellas you can carry inside with you. Do not carry bags/suitcases with you, there's no place to keep those inside the premises. Just go with documents folder that can be carried in hand. The doors are very heavy. No one will open it for you so eat something before you proceed. After security checks there's a big waiting area with sitting arrangements. You can sit. Then you go inside again in a queue. 1st counter you'll need to show passport. They ask you about your preferred language. (Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil & English I believe). Take passport & they ask you to proceed for fingerprint counter. 2nd counter you'll again show your passport. They ask you to put your fingers (left/right hand) on scanner. Done take your passport and proceed ahead to one more que. From here you'll be sent to different counters with numbers marked on them. Go to that number and there might be 2-3 people queued at your number. Stand behind. Wait for your turn. Finally on the interview counter. Be presentable, answer questions genuinely. The interviewer seeks mostly your confidence, communication & information you filled in DS-160 form. Stay calm. It's ok to fumble. Answer what's asked and be very specific. The interview goes not more than 3 minutes. Don't do cramming or have mugged up answers. It can cause you a rejection. My personal experience: 21st August 2023. I was at the counter at 8:15 a.m. Interviewer asked for my passport only. They ask for documents on case basis and VISA type. After 3 questions the interviewer put a slip in front of me on the other side of the window. And went on to ask a few more questions. I answered all the questions with honesty. The interviewer said, "your VISA is approved" and gave the slip to me. I thanked them, took the slip and went outside with a smile. Just remember you can do it.. Best of luck..

All US visa applicants must wait outside the Consulate in an open area. When an appointment time-based entry is announced by the Security Guard, you can walk towards the Consulate gate. I felt it is better to ask the security guard what announcement was made, as you may have missed the announcement even if you were early.  There  aren't any signs to indicate who were called in. It appears that they would make an announcement 30-45 mins before the given time. Keep your appointment letter and passport handy,  and follow the security check protocols in front of the Consulate door. You are allowed to carry your handbag and document bag. Phones and accessories are not permitted inside and must be left at the checking counter, for a payment of Rs 50 each. You will move to a covered waiting area with seats, monitored by staff, and as directed, you can enter the building. Waiting time outside was 10-15 mins. Follow the instructions, at counter 1 get tokens and wait for the call.  When token and counter numbers are displayed on the monitor, report to the counter and the Officer will check your documents and take the original documents including passport. I waited for45 mins to be called. Have noticed people being called again and again, I guess it was related to documentation. My wait for the Interview was almost 1 hour and 30 mins, and lasted less than 3 mins.  The Officer asked specific questions related to my visa. Thankfully, the visa was approved immediately. The processes at the US Consulate is well organized, although have these suggestions for improvement. 1.   The running display on the monitor is tiny, they should be bigger in size. 2.   The seats/chairs are crammed, arrange them in such a way to have more space in between for ease of movement. 3.   Keep time-based notice boards outside with the security, to identify who can go into the premises. One random announcement is not helpful.

The US Consulate General in Mumbai serves as an important diplomatic mission, facilitating diplomatic relations and providing consular services between the United States and India. Located in the bustling city of Mumbai, the consulate plays a crucial role in promoting bilateral ties and fostering cultural exchange. The consulate offers a wide range of consular services to both American citizens and Indian nationals, including visa processing, passport issuance, and assistance in times of emergencies. The staff at the consulate are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient, ensuring that the consular processes are carried out smoothly and in a timely manner. The consulate's website provides clear and comprehensive information, making it easier for individuals to navigate through the required procedures. Moreover, the consulate actively engages with the local community by organizing various events, seminars, and cultural programs. These initiatives help in promoting mutual understanding, strengthening people-to-people connections, and showcasing American culture and values. The consulate also collaborates with local organizations, fostering partnerships and encouraging dialogue on issues of mutual interest. However, it is worth noting that during peak times, such as visa application periods, there can be long wait times and crowded conditions at the consulate. This can be challenging for individuals seeking consular services, and it would be beneficial for the consulate to explore options to streamline processes and reduce wait times. Overall, the US Consulate General in Mumbai serves as a vital link between the United States and India, providing essential consular services and promoting diplomatic relations. With its dedicated staff and active community engagement, it plays a pivotal role in facilitating ties between the two nations.

We recently had to renew a 13 year old's US passport (Indian OCI Holder), so we went through extensive research, penning down the learnings / steps below incase it's helpful for anyone out there. 1) For a child under 16 US passport renewal - You need to fill in DS - 11 form using the Form filler tool on the website and download it - the list of documents are mentioned so you can carry hardcopy of the form & other docs. 2) Book appointment based on location / availability etc 3) When submitting - on the ''Passport Products and Fees'' page when selecting processing method select Routine service which is free because the expedited services itself doesn't exist for Mumbai atleast - so it is pointless. Delivery method again select standard since 1-2 day delivery outside US isn't applicable. 4) Once you have submitted and confirmed your appoint - you will get payment details on email. Please note - Even though on email they gave only demand draft option, and on call too they would insist on demand draft but at the center they were accepting card and cash as well. Incase of demand draft 2 separate drafts has to be made 1 for US consulate and the other for bluedart / whichever courier service 5) After the appointment it takes about 1-2 weeks for the passport to arrive. Now for the OCI part: - Under 16 years there is no need of OCI book renewal/ - If passport has been renewed then you get 3 months window to update details on the OCI website under OCI Miscellaneous Services. It takes 40 - 60 days for the new passport details to get updated on the portal during this time child can travel but needs to carry both old and new passport plus existing OCI book.

Reach 20 to 30 mins before scheduled time. There is no waiting area outside and if you reach much earlier you will stand on footpath under sun. The security will announce the timings for which people can queue. If your timing is part of slot, you can get in line. They evaluate your sticker on passport to verify time and let you in. Inside you can deposit electronic items, per item is 50 rupees. I had phone and earpods so it costed 100 rupees. If you have smartwatch, you need to deposit since it is not allowed inside. This is followed by security check. Then you have to get in line. Firstly, your passport will be verified and interview language will be asked and marked in system. Then you move to second line, they evaluate your fingerprints here. After this, you move to the line as per your language stated during first line. A person will assign you the counter for interview. You will be asked questions depending on type of visa and subsequent questions as required. They may ask for supporting documents so keep the file handy but do not provide anything unless asked. The interviewer is polite. If your passport is kept, it means you are selected. If it is returned, it means you are rejected. Everyone is helpful. Be polite and they will assist you. While exit, I saw a family on video call just outside counsel. This is not allowed and security was calling additional people to confiscate their phone. Respect their rules and you will be fine. While inside, saw a person throw lighter in garden area. Security asked the person to find a dustbin and throw it. Such behaviour may affect your visa chances.

I went there for minor child US passport renewal. Main gate security (adj Jio World) informed to go to back gate, opposite to Videsh Bhavan for such cases. Main gate is for non US citizens. There are lockers to keep phone. Inside consulate, agent will guide you to fill up Blue Dart courier form. Courier person is inside and you can pay cash or card. Initial verification of application completed at one window then I was asked to pay fees for a US passport. Fee payment in USD cash or credit/debit card. Finally one interview which lasted less than a minute and the courier payment slip was asked. Overall it took slightly above one hour. Received a new passport in 9 calendar days. Pretty fast. Main gate waiting line for visa applicants was pretty long. General tips. 1. Reach 15-20 minutes before your appointment time. No point going one hour or.more, prior to appointment time. You would just waste time standing outside. 2. Carry documents in transparent plastic folder. No backpack. Avoid zipped folder. 3. Double check documents. Staple photo towards corners. I had a properly glued photo, still at the window, the agent put staples on the photo. 4. Carry one photocopy of documents to be on the safe side. I was asked a copy of birth certificate at the window but I had only the original. It created no issue though. 5. No friends, family, attendents are allowed to stand with you. They can carry snacks, water and be prepared to stand outside on the opposite side of the footpath in hot weather for 2-3 hours. Best is, not to take them there.

Reach around 15-20 minutes before your appointment time and wait on the opposite side of the road, as guards don't allow anyone to wait on the side of embassy. The guards will announce the appointment time, and people who have an appointment at the stated time need to get in line to get their passports checked at the entry. After checking the passport, they will let you in for a security check. Before entering the security check area, they asked us to wait on the chairs outside the security check area. This is where they provide lockers for mobile phones. They charge Rs 50 for the phone. After that they will do the security check and let you inside the compound. Again, you will be made to sit on the chairs before they let you inside the building, where interviews take place. Inside the building, there are again long queues. There are around 40 windows where interviews go on simultaneously. After you are done with the interview, they will guide you to the exit. Good luck. Important points:- 1. Do not carry any bag packs. Just carry the documents required. 2. There is a provision to submit your mobile phone inside for Rs 50. 3. Paid car parking is available near the embassy. 4. The whole process takes around 2-3 hours, depending upon the number of people who have booked their appointments on that day i.e from the time of your appointment until you exit. 5. Don't come too early, otherwise you would just wait until your appointment time. 6. Smart watches are not allowed inside.

  • saritha devi

Very well organised, and friendly staff. Reach the consulate just before a half an hour otherwise we need to wait outside. There is a facility to keep our phone with the payment of 50 Rs. At screening counter we need to provide all our handbags, wallets, watches, etc. So take care of your belongings before entering into the consulate. After entering, we will find a corridor with seating facility there the staff will guide us where to sit. With the instructions of staff we will be guided to the main hall where the actual process takes place. It consists of: 1. Passport verification and language confirmation for translators if you are not comfortable with English language. 2. Biometric confirmation (fingure prints) 3. Final interview- Stay cool and confident. (If any person with Langauge issue and planning to go on a visitor visa- Indian translators are available and they can easily communicate and translate questions and answers). If anyone is applying for a visitor visa for a family then try to apply in a single application so the process will be simple and helpful. Don't worry for initial wrong answers or hesitation, continue with your questions never give up. If they have taken your passport and have given an acknowledgement slip to you ... Hurreeyyyyy....!!!! .. It means "You got VISA" ... You can collect your passport at collection centre that was mentioned in your appointment confirmation page. All the best.

  • Jena Anilger

All the processes are well organised and you will be directed with do's and don'ts. Irrespective of the time you reach you will be allowed inside only at your appointment time or sometimes 10 min earlier based on the people count. You will be asked to wait opposite the premises and the guards will call the appointment time. First they will check your passport and make entry that you have reported. Before entering the premises you have a counter to deposit your mobile phones at the cost of Rs.50 per device. Next is security check, when you need to place all your belongings in scanner. To have a hassle free security check, Carry the required documents only. No electronic gadgets, bags, headphones, earphones, chargers are allowed. Then you will be asked to be seated in queue before entering the interview panel. First they will verify your documents, next fingerprint and finally interview. If you take your kids with less than 3yrs then you will be given preference in the queue. You can take up the interview in the language of your preference. But need to wait for official with the specific language available to take the interview. When I am there people choose Tamil, Hindi, Gujarati. Don't take auto from there, they will charge you with high price. We don't have time to ask about the cost before boarding, so they make it as advantage. I was asked Rs 500 for the actual price of Rs 150. But I didn't pay the extra price.

Visited biomatric centre at G block and tge experience was not at all good. Mobiles are not allowed . In order to keep your belongings request the authorities make some arrangements and at present if one has to keep his belongings like bag mobiles she’ll out Rs 500 to nearby shops and u have to shell out Rs 500 for single printout . This is day light robbery Authorities should look in to the difficulties and arrange some sort of place at biomatric centre with nominal charges. External affairs ministry should concentrate at this point Second, at visa interview place Embasy outside staff even security are not at all cooperative very arrogant in their behaviour , once again request tge authorities to arrange some lockers to keep the stuffs with nominal rate I had the bad experience during my visit this week , spent half an hour outside the embassy to keep my backpack .luckily one rikshaw fellow has agreed and kept my bag abd at least waited for me more than half an hour without demanding anything.really appreciate that person. Would like to advise those people who attend biomatric and interview should carry only tge required docs in order to avoid this extortion and if possible accompany one more person who can wait outside for you with ur belongings while ur attending biomatric and visa interview . Hope the authorities will resolve the issues

My interview is completed on 14 feb .Reach here before 30 min to the time slot assigned to you . It's more than enough. Don't carry any metal item including coins. There is storage facility for phone and it's paid one. Carry only the file containing the required documents. Don't carry any kind of bags as they don't accept to carry it in. After checking they make you seated according to the language preference which they ask you and feel free to choose the best language of your knowledge as there is no second chance for changing. Then u enter into a big hall and stand in lines and confirm ur fingerprints given the day before. And then the interview accordingly to the language choosen . Translaters helps you and needn't worry about it. Questions aren't that tuff or tricky. Just be cool and calm and u can answer them . Embassy people are kind and are informative. Helps in all kinds. On an average it is three hours for the total process . But it may be less too . Water bottles too are not allowed inside. So plan accordingly and come after a good meal. Photography is not allowed so didn't took pictures and don't try too. Don't carry any smart watches too Location is exactly opp trident and beside dhirubhai Ambani square .

We had an interview scheduled at Bombay consulate centre which is located in BKC that is Bombay Kurla complex near Dhirubhai Ambani square Our appointment time was at 8:10 in the morning, you should reach 30 min before to your schedule time Things which you should carry with yourself are nothing other than your documents passport , your bags are not allowed ,mobile phones are not allowed. Another thing is you should keep in mind that if somebody is coming with you then you should not use mobile around that consulate because I was trying to just click some photos and security came to me and and took my phone and took me to the officers where they verify my ID and check my phone for photos and then they returned my phone back to you. The interview process was very simple they ask you questions like why you want to go US what is your job occupation in India if you have any property in India or not something like that then after 20 minutes of basic interview questions they just said and kept my passport and give me a recipe which is taking that to VISA will be send to the given address within 10 days. Thanks for reading , I hope it helps

US Business B1 Visa- The office is extremely professionally maintained. The staff may look rigid and unwelcome, but end of the day that’s their job, so stop expecting to be pampered. No electronic devices are allowed inside and can be kept in the counter for Rs50/- at the entrance. The first queue is for screening where they take your passport, verify and send you to the next queue. If they are unable to verify they may ask you to sit for couple of mins until verified. The second queue is for biometrics where again you will have to give your passport and do the biometrics. The last and final queue is the interview queue where again you will have to give your passport and the first question will be why are you planning to travel. Post which they may or may not ask you any questions. For me, they haven’t asked any other questions nor verified any documents which I carried along with me. Finally they told that my Visa is approved and should be delivered in the next 7 working days. Just be confident , well dressed and answer to the point. Most important keep a tab of what was updated in your DS-160 application form. All the best!

Well organized consulate! Here’s my experience. It took about 45 mins from the start to finish. Walk in about 15-20 mins before your appointment time and they’ll only need your passport from here on. Once that’s verified, you can drop-off your phone or other compact electronics in a locker. It’s gonna cost you about ₹100. From there, you proceed towards the security check and then you’ll step into the building. This is where the interview happens but before that an officer would check your passport to confirm your appointment. This would be similar to an interview counter but it’s not. It’s just for verification and determining your language for the interview. After that, you’d be joining a queue which proceeds towards the interview counters. If you’ve chosen English, it’s much faster as most of them choose non-English. At least from my experience! Once your turn comes up, you’ll most likely be asked the purpose of your visit, duration and other questions that’ll be relevant to your visa category. That’s it. You head out through the same way and collect your electronic devices and exit the consulate.

VERY RUDE BEHAVIOR of security staff here, I was with my elder brother, we were there for US VISA INTERVIEW of my brother. Most of people present here for the first time, so were not aware of things here. Cab driver has stopped car on the location but then immediately security staff comes and then tell us don't alight here take u turn and stop on the opposite site, ok we followed it and gone to opposite site, but soon after I saw same security person allowing CAB to stop in front of security checkin and allowing applicant to alight there so it is a DISCRIMINATION by staff. Then if anywhere we go for first time we generally ask official of that premises likewise we politely asked security staff about 'what is that line for ?' It was raining very heavily there so we didn't hear properly, we asked him again then he shouted like see his language omg "chalna nikalna, edhar se ek baar samjh me aata tujhe kya" I mean can we expect this type of security staff with abusive, rude, tapori behavior at respected US CONSULATE GENERAL BKC MUMBAI ? I urge administration of this premises to take note of my comment.

Be aware of auto wala they wants to plunder you as much as they can. They come to you and asks u do u need locker and starts drama with sweet words. Later they will take you nearby a old building then they will show , there that guy charges you 600 rs for locker , I took locker 2 times ,once for fingerprint I kept my mobile for 400 it was completed just in 15 min. Later for visa interview they took 600 for keeping my bag nd mobile in locker. These autowala are takes 100 for every trip so takes 100 more in return time. I think this is the worst situation has to be changed. When many folks coming from different cities are being looted by them. And even govt or embassy officials should have been provided these basic facilities. They are charging huge visa fees but failed to provide basic facilities. And visa officials think that you have nothing here in your country so you will go their country to live but it's not actually. I have experienced an extreme arrogance from vi official. I also observed few with same kind of behavior. Finally I suggest you to be aware of these cheaters near the consulate.

Please provide locker facility at the building and basics like water and washroom: They won’t allow you to enter with your bag and mobile phone, thats alright but they don't provide locker facility for that you have to walk to the other damn building. But before u reach that building rixa walas will catch you and make u use their own sheety locker and charge 600 plus 200 for auto. When its raining you have kept your bags and phone in the locker, which is located at the far building, you will be roaming with bare documents in the raining. Once you inside there not much issues. They provide shade and fans so little easy easy. But yes nobody will ask you for a water and they dont have drinking water fountain untill u are inside the interview place

We had visa interview appointment at 10.30 am , everything went with utmost military precision .I went there at 9.00 am & upon enquiry to my surprise they called us in immediately. & after that we were seated in the line which was to go in after about 40 minutes. Once inside we took Marathi Language as my interview launguage. There was a translator with the USA consulate interviewing staff. We were ask asked 3 to 4 questions and in about 7 to 8 minutes our interview was over. And our B1 visa was approved. I had taken one assistant with me who was waiting on the pavement opposite of the consulate, so that I could keep my mobile phones smart watche with him. That way it was better .

Unable to click photos as I Have not carried the mobile. The security is very tight here and they don't allow anybody to click any pics or stand near the compound of the entire street. People need to stand and wait on the opposite road until they are called inside. So don't go too early there especially during hot summers and rainy seasons as there is no place to safely stand. 1 hour before is well enough. You can deposit your phone and other non allowed things in the entrance counter itself. There are many counters inside and staff is helpful as well. Also one needs to obey their rules for smoother processing of your job. Most of the auto rickshaw people are helpful too.

Negative interview experience: Went for B1 with all valid documents related to business travel. Nothing was checked. Got asked 2 question other than purpose of travel: do you have kids, and how long have you been in this job. Interview ended in less than 20 seconds. Rejection form was handed to me before that. Note to interviewing officers: please change the archaic and regressive notion that every Indian applicant is plotting to illegally immigrate, people like us are secure and established in our own country. Wanting to visit US temporarily doesn't warrant this treatment. Other countries have a very objective processes for business visas, please take cues from them.

  • Manisha Kadam

Very unorganized. They take $160 as fees from every candidate and don’t even provide any seating or shade during afternoon times. I saw a girl fainting while she was standing in the queue. I talked to a couple of people and they had travelled over 11+ hours for their visa appointment and had to wait additional 2.5 hours even after their appointment time to get through the processing. The pick up option can also be appointment based. It took me 2.5 hours to collect my passport from the office. All counters inside the office were not functional. Please consider increasing workforce. Poor service for the money that is taken from every candidate.

There are two offices for Visa 1) fingerprint - the process will take about 15-20 minutes. The main question is whether there is a mobile locker inside the US consulate. ?Yes it’s there. The cost is 400 rupees (small place holder, you can keep 2-3 mobiles together, you can share with line member if you are lucky, so cost is half). Beware : there are many rickshawala people outside the consulate who will mislead you about the locker and charges. 2) Office: main USA visa interview process Locker service is also available for a fee of 150 Rupees per entry. Well-managed washrooms, benches with roofs, helpful staff, and so on. Ref Date : Feb 2023

  • Gaurav Bhawnani

Fairly well organized with clearly defined steps and staff guiding you through the process. A couple of things to note though - 1. You have a storage facility on premise but just for small electronics (phone, headphones, smarth watch etc). They won't allow bags. 2. There are 4 steps overall - 1) Appointment check outside the consulate you just need your passport here 2) Language preference and sorting of folks basis that - this is where you'fmd typically wait for 10-15 min 3) Biometric verification - again just the passport needed 4) The interview - in this step you may need supporting docs but most of the folks i saw weren't asked for any.

  • ILAKIYA

People usually wait outside the consulate until their appointment time is called out, then you join the queue to get into the consulate. They check your passport and let you in. If you bring your phone you need to keep it in the locker for a fee. After the security check you might have to wait some more before they let you in. They verify your documents and fingerprints again before the visa interview which takes a while. The actual interview is brief and the visa officers are polite. You can leave right after the interview. Follow the instructions and they will guide you in an organized manner.

  • avinash chowdary

I had a really easy experience, maintenance of lines and management is good, they had a proper security, no mobiles, big bags are allowed inside, they recently added facility for keeping your bags out side which they don't had previously. Today there is a slight delay in interviewing times, but interviews are happening really fast, I applied for a B1 and my interview went for 1min and I got approved, Interviews for 4 languages are available Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English. All you need to do is be there 1hour before your sheduled interview time, rest will go smoothly without confusion

  • Darshan jadhav

**Locker is available inside, So don't fall for any trap outside. For mobile they will charge Rs 50** Take umbrella in Rainy and Summer season. Because you need to stand in long queue without shelter on road. umbrellas are allowed to take inside. Security guard will announce on speaker the slots they are taking inside, so please give your attention on the announcement. Please be there atleast 40mins early. Once you go inside they will guide you for all the things so don't worry. Greet the officer once go for interview Be calm and confident. ALL THE BEST..!!

  • Devendra Vaja

If you are here for the Visa interview then sack bags/ backpack are not allowed. Other hand carry is fine. A relative with you at the site who can wait for you outside could help. Worst case the auto drivers do help you with the lockers to keep your bag. In side the embassy, the mobile only locker is there with Rs.50 deposit. Expect fair respect. If you are here for the US passport renewal or the citizen services then nothing to worry. Any form of bag is allowed inside. No waiting time and good respect to the citizens or parent of the citizens.

  • Mahesh RajaSagi

I went for B2 visitor visa interview. Only docs needed are passport, appointment confirmation. For safety you may carry DS160 confirmation and MRV receipt. Supporting docs you carry as deemed fit to your case. 90% of the cases visa officers have all the information they need on you. Total time entry to exit it took one hour for me. Total flow is well organised and guided step by step through queue system. If you go 20-30 mins before, that is enough. In my case they allowed me 20 mins before it really depends on rush I believe.

  • Krish Patel

I was with my brother for US Visa Renewal, Staff and Managment is 10/10, Be there atleast 35-40mins before your time slot. Mine was at 7.30 and by 8.30 my interview was done. Be very confident and truthful, you’ll be judged on basis of your confidence nothing else, Just need your passport. I didn’t even need to show a single document. Some Questions I was asked - Purpose of visit - Who lives in US, there background etc - Income - Have you ever been to US or not - Current occupation Best of luck (I got them fyi : )

  • TouHid Shaikh

My renewal interview was at 11:10, I reached at 9:40. They accepted early entry after passport check. Kept Umbrella in basket, gave phone to locker guy (50 rupees) which is inside campus. When inside, the whole process took 20-25 mins max. If you’re traveling by your own car or bike, there is MMRDA paid parking 100 mtrs away. Carry only transparent documents folder. Gents Wallet, belt and non-digital watches allowed. Relatives waiting area is open and other side of diagonal road but in vicinity.

  • Akshay C

There are long lines for visa interviews, but they move pretty quickly so that's okay with me. However, there is confusion regarding which slot candidates are allowed to go in at what time. There need to be better instructions about where candidates for the next slots need to wait outside. Also, the consulate officers taking the interviews should have a loud mic or speaker so they can be heard easily. There should be adequate seating arrangements for parents/family waiting outside the consulate

  • Amit Singh

This place is amazing one of the most organized places I have ever been . my daughter who is an US citizen was denied boarding a flight to Europe as her passport was valid for one month only instead of atleast 3 months. I explained my situation on a call to Acs lady on call and she was sensitive enough to understand my situation and provided emergency appointment next day and emergency passport also in an hour. Was a life saver for me as it saved me from lot of hassles. Thank you very much .

  • Ram Kumar

I accompanied my wife and waited outside with my 4 year old kid. The wait was so painful that I had to keep standing the whole time with my kid in hand. The worst part is that it rained the whole time. It is good there is that the visitors were allowed to wait there where there is no disturbance of traffic, roadside stalls or street vendors. A seating provision by the consulate would have been good, at least a shelter. US consulate in Delhi provides a shelter and benches for visitors.

  • Karimsetty Venkatesh

The consulate was so good and the officers are so helpful and guiding, I have done my interview over there and it's in a smooth way and better to go one hour earlier to the consulate, And if ur taking mobile or something u can keep in locker they charge Rs:50/- it's fair, some are saying 500 it's not that and take a water bottle and umbrella and they will allow it, I've got VISA approved and it's, so smooth all depends on ur confidence that's it

  • White Shark

It's was good and smooth. Didn't had to wait much. Just reach 30 mins before your appointment time and everything runs smooth. Don't carry any bag. Just carry the related documents, passport, CDC anything pertaining to visa formalities. Inside there is a provision to submit mobile phone at Rs 50 and then you can collect it once you are done with formalities. There is also car parking which is paid, little next to the embassy.

  • Sanju Galande

Well managed place once you enters in . While you have to wait on street before entering. Do Not come more than 1 hrs earlier than your appointment. Mobiles and other electronic items bags not allowed inside either bring someone with you or keep at hotel. If coming with somebody bring water bottle and some snacks as there is ni eatery nearby. Carry umbrella in summer and rainy season as no proper standing place available here

  • Ramana Rao Gandham

It is an amazing experience at the US Consulate General Office, Mumbai. Everything right from entry till exit is planned meticulously, keeping convenience of applicants in mind. The personnel on each job assignment ,( security check, making announcement, directing to respective counters, interviewing) are very polite. They know their job and how to execute it efficiently. Overall I had a very pleasant experience.

  • Pranav Patil

Today 28/07/2023 I cleared my c1/d visa. Process was smooth all staff was polite. My suggestion is to reach there prior 40 to 50 minutes before your time it was raining heavily on 28 july there is no any shelter protection for rain you can carry your umbrella it is allowed inside don’t be panic for interview just be genuine nothing to worry and all the best for interview

  • Steven Pandikona

Everything was good just the security guy near the biometric verification was very rude. Just asked him a simple question and showing rude behavior as if he owns the space. Don't carry any extra bag just your documents. Mobile can be submitted inside near the security counter for 50/- per item. Don't get looted by rickshawalas outside the embassy for locker.

  • Cherian Jacob

Consulate is out of bounds for everyone except those who are going for their US visa. The wait outside is most disgusting. Authorities don't provide any shade or shelter for parents or elders accompanying their wards or relatives. In heavy rain today people standing under their umbrellas getting wet. Please don't go if not needed. It is no fun.

  • Sunil Patki

Super efficient staff. Note: if you carry electronics then just at the entrance is a private facility to keep them. I did not carry my mobile and so I did not use the facility and so I do not know the charges. Do ensure you do not have backpacks. You should just carry your papers in a hand held folder. Ladies are allowed to carry their handbags. SSP

  • elanchezhian r

The consulate provides facilities to keep your mobile phones. But the storage is limited for number of people hence it is not being informed outside the centre. If your an individual attending interviews by yourself kindly do not get scammed by local people outside who claim that there are no safe store for mobiles and take you to a private vendor.

  • HARISH GUPTA

Public Parking available just behind US consulate at reasonable rates 45/- for 1 hr, 75/- for 1 to 3 hr. For general public waiting for their time slot and relatives waiting outside, shade needs to be built or waiting area to be provided. There is no food, no water facility nearby and is a big problem for people coming from far off places.

  • Sami Khan

Staff coordination n facilities to assist you and security of your belongings and overall great experience and requesting whoever visiting in coming days try to avoid extra belongings just keep simple n sweet no extra blah blah headphones earpods handclutch n hand bags kindly avoids such stuff simple is ur documents n PP THATS IT

  • kvk r

Very well organised. The only problem here with the bag storage especially for solo performers who carry a laptop/travel bag. They do not have any facility at consulate office. Better walk back 500m to Parinee Crescenzo(Biometric venue) and use the lockers although are pricey. I believe that's the only safe cloak room near by.

  • Sophia Bhat

Very well organized considering the number of applicants are over flowing however everyone did amazing job to accommodate all the applicants. My Visa was approved in less than 2 minutes. Make sure you have strong profile and you write all the details accurately. Please carry supporting documents, it will bost your confidence.

  • Rosemary Antony

So I had to visit the Dosti House. And when I put US consulate as my location,it took me to the next lane. And I had to walk back. Anyway, the place is very strict about it's security and always carry a photo identification card to enter the premises. No photography allowed whatsoever.

  • pwzb

Highly organised and cooperative staff. Suggest don’t carry mobile or any electronics as this will take another half n hour extra and money rupees 50 for each item. Interview process is simple and straightforward. Go with positive attitude and keep big smiling on your face. Good luck !

  • Ajinkya Nayak

Actually required time is 2 hours what is takes for interview once you enter inside and there is no waiting area so carry the only docs you require for the interview. And to keep your mobile there is a pigeon hole but it cost involved. So go alone it's better if you are local.

  • 68 B Tejpal Singh Randhawa

USA, consulate is amazing the feeling I couldn’t express, when I enter the butterfly flies in my stomach great. Staff is so polite, I got my USA f1 visa, interview process is great, be confident and genuine .I glad to apply for USA.☺️✌️❤️. …

  • Mavkaran Dhillon

Be positive! Carry all your original documents. The officials will guide you with the process. Good luck for your interview! And extra good luck for people waiting outside. Take your water bottle, umbrella and something to sit on.

  • Abhishek Chavda

Consulate is proper and the staff are very good but need to make some shelters for the out side applicants. Since two days faced rain and get wet. That will be one time cost for consulate but life time facility for your customers.

  • ASH COSMOS

Worst process ever....absolutely biased did not even consider tourist visa even after providing very strong documents...my mother father went for visa and was rejected without even looking at documents just based on weak English.

  • Jitendra Patil

Reach for appointment atleast 15 min before. Lockers are available for mobile phones or any electronic gadgets for Rs.500 inside. You are ask for interpretor at the entry for your specific language. Best Wishes...

  • M M

For 8 am appointment I went at 7 am and was allowed inside at 7.30 am. Carried a lot of documents but no documents were asked. 5 minutes I was questioned and granted visa.Quick and very good.

  • Simon Vacheril Paily SEHYON

Very helpful for Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and English. But people from South India, especially for Malayalam and Tamil, it is some what like a harassment. May be the lack of translators.

  • kayul kothari

USA Visa consultants. Not carry any phones or wallet. Lot of waiting there. No sitting arrangement. Car parking paid available . No locker facility available.
