You wrote a review for Ulta Beauty 17 hours ago 1.0 star rating 1/26/2019 I bought a bottle of perfume ($52) at Ulta Gateway Shopping Center today in Austin, TX. Opened what appeared to be brand new completely sealed packaging 5 minutes later in my car in the parking lot - and it was a completely empty bottle. Immediately went back inside the store to return it and have my money refunded. The so-called manager (a kid) didn't believe me and intimated several times I returned my own used empty bottle. Would not refund my money even with the receipt dated and timed 5-minutes earlier. Basically said I was lying. Look at the tapes of your outside security cameras. My car was parked right in front of the store. Clearly, the bottle completely leaked during production or shipping. There is no other explanation for this - even the inside packaging of the box was stained. Look ---- I am 63 years old, affluent, educated with a PhD, and don't need to swindle a cheap cosmetic store out of $52, nor do I have any desire to do so. She finally relinquished and credited my debit card when I was calling my bank right in front of her to dispute the charge. Will never step foot in that store again. You do business with a cheap store - you get cheap help and cheap customer service. NO NEED for a lip service response from the owner. NOTHING can assuage the insulting and low-class interaction of this experience.

I made my online purchase for cyber Monday, I came to pick up my order but on my receipt I was specified that the pallet I ordered was not available but in the store i found that they have 3 packages available and the morning shift manager was very rude i was waiting for 30 min And they don’t even fix my order. The staff was very rude and they are talking athat if I pay my order and it is disrespectful, I was right in front of them I could listen and see how they were talking. The manager instead of solving the problem was rude and was speaking to me in a strong tone. In my opinion, the customer comes first and she treat me mean and rude. I asked her if the palette was available at another location and very sharp said no. She never made sure called or looked for a solution. I feel that I was treated very badly I feel discriminated against. I hope you can give me a solution. I just got home and the gift for my purchase isn’t there too. I didn’t get the managers name she is medium height, Hispanic and medium light hair and very rude. I come to get my order 12/03/19 around 11:30am. I hope I can fix my order, this situation and the treatment they give to their customers. I had never experienced something like this. You need a manager who is here to help you and give you solutions not yelling at you. thanks

Would have been great if the employee who worked with me had actually attempted to look for a solution. I asked for a red lip stain and was directed to one line without any information about it. I tried it and said it was too gloss-like and was instead blamed for the way the lipstick was: "it's the tester so you shouldn't expect much" and "it's because I sprayed it with cleanser for you to use." It's a tester so it should work exactly as one should expect from their purchased product, that isn't an excuse for the quality. If the tester is going bad, get another. If you're spraying the tester with so much cleanser that you completely change a lipstick to a paste, you're cleaning your tester wrong. I showed the employee the three swatches on my wrist from the samples she gave me and told her they aren't what I'm looking for because they're too pink or have too much of a magenta undertone. I told her again that I needed a proper red stain, like fire engine red or red delicious. I wasn't aiming to be difficult, but I wanted to be clear on what I needed. The employee just said "Okay." And walked away. I wasn't offered any other lines or options and I definitely didn't feel I should stay in a store where the employee is so unwilling to provide basic customer service.

I will not be going back to this location. I just stopped in to pick up a cleanser and when I went to check out, the cashier asked for my phone number. I asked politely to skip it, and she probed again asking "what if you need to make a return". As I didn't anticipate needing to return the cleanser, and I planned on keeping a copy of my receipt, I reiterated I wanted to skip giving out my phone number. I didn't go into detail, but as a single woman I do not like speaking my phone number out loud in the store. This cashier seemed kind and let it go, but the associate behind her took it upon herself to chime in and rudely ask me "do you have someone else's phone number to give her?". I felt pressured and gave in, which instantly instilled regret for me. The fact that they could not respect my privacy and my boundary absolutely disgusts me, and I've never ever had an associate reject my boundary after me expressing twice that I do not want to give out my sensitive information. I will not be back to this location and if this happens to me at another location, I will no longer shop at Ulta. It's one thing to ask, it's another thing to pressure me into giving out information I have already elected to not share.

I went in last Saturday and told Charles “I’m looking for a long lasting full coverage foundation. I’m also here to buy eyeliner, setting powder and concealer.” He recomendé Lancôme in the beginning then sent me to a girl to get my make up done by some girl trying to sell that juice brand make up. At the end of the “make over” the make up was completely separated, it was sheer coverage. It actually caused a rash on my face. Today I went in to buy that Juvias place foundation everyone has been raving about and they didn’t have any light shades available. I guess because I carry a Michael lots backpack they assumed the worse. The security and beauty advisors followed me around everywhere. I felt so uncomfortable that I just left. They even harassed my brother when he picked up A BOTTLE OF HAND SANITIZER!!! The security jumped on him and was like “is that for men?!” My brother just came back from deployment and took me to dinner and then agreed to go into Ulta with me, this is how we get treated?! I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AGAIN thanks to the manager with the greasy hair, poor eyeliner and judgmental mentality.Sad to think I bought all my baby shower prizes from here

Forgive me for likely misspelling her name, but I sincerely wish this Ulta was just magically teleported to Dallas so I could always work with Aja. I have always always had trouble matching skin tone products because of a unique mixture in my family and she was more than patient and immediately knew which line would have my mix of neutrals warms and cools, yes all three...She took interest in my stories, and believe me, give me an hour or two, you'll know my whole life. I showed her photos of my family just mainly because I am interested in genetics and love having unique tone, albeit complicated, and she took all of my oversharing with utmost grace. She seemed interested in talking about the history with me and took all my skincare and tonal concerns into consideration. If I lived in austin, I would never choose products with anyone else. She is attentive, kind, intuitive, intelligent, and just all around a fun person to be around. I make friends everywhere I go, and of all places and moments, I will never forget this Ulta experience. Thank you Aja, I am so sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly. You're a rockstar, never let anyone dull your beautiful sparkle. :)

The service provided at this Ulta location is unacceptable. While waiting in line, there were two cashiers, one of which spent at least 5 minutes with a customer, and the turnover should be at maximum 90 seconds for each transaction (I've worked in retail). The cashier seemed very confused about how to operate the computer for what appeared to be a return. This is in no way the cashier's fault, but the manager's fault for not adequately training their employees. My own cashier corrected me on a sale that was being displayed. She said the ad in the Ulta magazine says differently than what I was claiming, but never made an effort to actually go look at the sign in the store I was referring to. It's unacceptable for an employee to correct a customer. If the sign is misleading, then put up a different sign. Anyone who runs a good business knows that agreeing with the customer and comp-ing an item will ensure that customer remains loyal to their business. Being correct might feel good in the moment, but now Ulta has just lost a life long customer. This is unacceptable and the manager needs to ensure that the highest quality employees are hired and trained properly.

I have shopped at Ulta since I was a teenager, and have visited this location for the past 2 or 3 years without incident. My last visit made me never want to come back. I was followed around the store by their little rent-a-cop the ENTIRE time I shopped. I started out by looking at the fragrances (I was looking for Tom Ford) and noticed he was watching me. Ok, no big deal, the fragrances are expensive, he probably does that to everyone. They didnt have what I wanted, so I went to get my eyebrow pencil. I notice he is STILL watching me, and has now moved so he has clear sight of me. At this point I thought maybe I was paranoid. I ended up going to the back of the store to find the clearance section. Guess who stolls past, watching me. He literally paced around every time I moved. I am extremely disappointed that I was treated this way. I did not look sketchy, I had just gotten off work and wanted to pick something up. I wasnt being shifty. I'm honestly appalled at my entire experience and will be making a complaint directly to their manager and to corporate.

My last experience with Ulta's salon in Denton Texas was not nearly as good! The hairdresser talked down to me about my hair. I admit, I am very low effort with my hair style and tend to go a long time between hair cuts and coloring. My cousin was getting married, however, and I wanted something really killer. The hair dresser at this Denton location rejected my ideas on what I wanted done to my hair because "let's face it, you won't put in the upkeep anyways." I left the salon after paying a lot of money feeling self conscious and plain. Needless to say, I did not visit another Ulta for a very long time. Three years later, and after avoiding hair dressers like the plague, I finally decided that I wanted to treat myself to a nice haircut. I was so surprised when I got Jessie! He was wonderful, listened to my hair concerns, and gave me solutions that fit my lifestyle without belittling me. I left the salon feeling like a $100, and will not be afraid to visit your salon in the future! Thank you Jessie for redeeming hair salons!

Wow! I’ve always shopped at drugstores for all my makeup and facial products, but someone recommended a product to me that I didn’t want to go to the drugstore for. So I called Ulta and spoke with a young woman named Abilene, who was very helpful in recommendations for the brand of product (since I’ve never gotten it before) and told me I could come in and look for her. I come in and didn’t see any employees (or so I thought, since everyone was dressed pretty casually) and ended up running right into her. She was extraordinary in helping me find all of the wants that I had, and even had another associate named Amy, who was also very helpful, answering my questions, concerns and even wished me the best after clocking out! That’s awesome customer service. Anyways, got everything I was looking for and will definitely shop here again. Not to mention that another associate was friendly while I was getting helped. Safe to say that the reviews on Apple Maps was lying when they showed all negative reviews! Thank you Ulta!

Read my previous review which was a 2 start. I am changing it because I decided it was unfair to penalize a fantastic stylist (Dawn) because of the service when she was not there. All I can say is that she does a beautiful job on my hair EVERY time. I have a short bob and people are always complimenting me on my hair and the cut. Most recently she coloured my hair and it turned out fabulous. Thank you Dawn! Previous Post: I have had a fantastic cut and color here more than once. The problem is they can not get customer service together. When you call the phone rings and rings. When you book online the appointment does not always get in the system and most recently when they cancel they do not inform you. I arrived and they said they tried calling. Maybe but no message on my voicemail and no text. When I asked about texting they said they are able to text yet I got a text message with my appointment confirmation. I will not be going back. My time is valuable and I expect better service.

I booked an appointment for 45$ and just wanted the simple cut and shampoo. I chose Katie online because the website indicated ahe was a Diva Curl Specialist. She said it was going to be 66$ with style. I told her I didnt want that. She did not know how to cut curly hair. She cut it short even though she told me she'd cut it longer, I trusted her word because she is a curl specilist. I asked for layers, no layers. I asked her to texturize and she acted like she forgot. She texturized the back only so side of my hair looks thick. She kept saying if you dont like it just come back I'll fix it free of charge. I've never had a bad experience at ULTA until now. I also get really good stylist and they aren't even curl specialist. She blew dry my hair and didnt even put any product so I left with poofy hair. She's defiantly not a curl specialist. Also quickest hair cut of my life. It was Saturday so maybe she wanted to leave early. I love ULTA salon and always go here. I'm very disappointed.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR THEIR BROW BAR SERVICES. I was hopeful when I scheduled my lip wax appointment here as I am from out of town and an Ulta has never let me down. The associate waxed my lip and then she grabbed the tweezers and she saw my hesitation and asked “is it okay if I use the tweezers because you have a hair that I need to get” I immediately said no (I came for a wax not a tweeze, and tweezing will cause the hair to grow back thicker and more course). Then she was like okay then you’re all done, so I was like awesome great and she handed me the mirror and I saw alllllll the hairs she left on both sides close to the lip and I asked “can you re wax these because there are a lot” and she said no because waxing where she had already waxed would cause the skin to scab so here I am looking like a 13 year old boy who is just hitting puberty all because the associate didn’t preform the job properly. Save yourself the horror, go to a more well trained and higher rated location.

I actually contacted this in prayers of better customer service with the salon staff, it is not good. Not sure why anyone has concted me. Susan,Katy are the lead women at this store I had an appointment on June 13,2020 and spoke with Angie in which gave me the wrong name for the appointment so I was not able to get me hair done adding she never called me back to see why I was not in their appointment book. I have spoken to kina in which was nice as was Samantha and finally john. I am not sure why I have not spoke to Susan or Katy again sine they referred me to Nikki in which I have not heard from either. This is not good nor professional in all I have contacted ultra customer service sine Saturday June 13,2020 what's going on,and how can you fix this. Well you really can't is why I have written a letter to the CEO and I have filed complaints with The Texas Attorney General office in Texas,Chicago. What a shame to think you can just mistreat people especially in a time of Unity.

  • Jennifer Reinfried

Disorganized, always too few staff members to help the mob of people wandering around. I'm never asked right off the bat if I need help, regardless of me having the deer in headlights look as I stand in the middle of the store looking around for ten minutes because I can't figure out where they have something located. Finally figured my way around the place enough to guess where the moisturizer is, but there were like, two to choose from. Who knows if there is a bigger selection somewhere else, but by then, I just wanted to get out of that super busy store where no one seemed to care. The only reason I give three stars is the first time I was in there (which was just as bad, to the point where I had to go to the salon to ask them to find someone to help me, as I needed to switch concealers and couldn't find anyone to go over questions I had. The guy that helped me at that time was so nice and so thorough that he is seriously the only reason I didn't give this place one star.

This location isn’t that great when it comes to customer service. My first time coming here, the only person to greet me was the Loss Prevention security guard. I found myself circling the store for a long time looking for what I needed without any assistance from the sales staff on the floor. At first I couldn’t tell who worked in the store and who didn’t. Once I made the distinction, the sales associates on the floor seemed too busy with personal conversations or over assisting other guests. I even waited for someone to become available and was ignored. I finally made another round through the store and found what I was looking for. The next time I came back I made a bee line to the product I needed and didn’t even bother with trying to look for something else. The only reason I’d stop in this location to begin with is because I had to frequent the David’s Bridal next door for a wedding I was in. I’d much rather take my business to Sephora or another Ulta location.

I needed to start 2022 with a new hair cut and color! I ended up making an appointment with a new hairstylist at Ulta Beauty, Kenrik. I walked into the salon with 7 months of new growth, brassy colored highlights, gray that needed to be colored and hair length that was in dire need of attention. I was in awe for weeks after my results! @kenrikthai worked his magic and changed my hair for the good! I told Kenrik that same day, that it was the first time in two years that I didn’t feel my scalp burning as the foils and color processed. Not to mention, my neck was not yanked endlessly while combing, brushing or washing my hair either. Kenrik worked his magic with gentle hands through the foils, color, wash, cut, dry and style. I was so pleased! If you live in Austin and need a hairstylist, I highly recommend visiting Kenrik @ultabeauty in the Gateway Market Shopping Center off Mopac & 183. You won’t be disappointment! Kenrik…thank you SO much!

Wow. I went here recently and have never had such uncomfortable shopping experiences as I did twice (and for the LAST time!!) at this specific Ulta location. I dress nicely, carry myself well, work hard, honest, etc. But these employees watched me like hawks, literally impossible not to feel the awful stares and glares. Then, I went to pay cash for my items. Had problems pulling up rewards... Long story short my phone # would not come up so I used my sisters # to Give her points. Had 3 $100 bills ready to pay and They gave me a hard time so instead I paid for my haircut, tipped my stylist well, and told them to put the merchandise back. I will never support this store. Sorry people shoplift from you but you lost a really good custom both salon and store never again Ulta. Will be sure to share this with my friends and family!!! Horrible and degrading experience!!!!!

  • Lisa Chadwick

I originally went to Ulta to purchase a clarifying shampoo for my hair (very dry from living abroad in a hard water area etc) thinking that it would remove the excess minerals etc. Thankfully a store associate, Samantha, suggested a hair mask instead, herself having had similar experiences with the abrasiveness of hard water on her hair. She was right on the nose about the positive impact the hair mask would have with replenishing moisture, which would have been the total opposite had I followed through with purchasing the clarifying shampoo. I’ve only used the hair mask once so far and already feel and see massive differences in my hair (softer, less frizzy etc). High 5 Samatha, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I’ll add a pic if anyone wants to try this hair mask. It has 4 applications in a pack. Def recommend.

I get my conditioner (Living proof) and moisturizer (philosophy) from this Ulta, but after today I am never going back to any Ulta. The entire time I was in the store I was followed by their security - not in a casual just walking the store way, but in an aggressive very unsubtle way. I came in for moisturizer today, and after getting that I browsed the remainder of the store, ending up with an armful of stuff. The entire time, I felt very harrassed by the security guard. When I went to check out, I told the sales associate how harassing it is being aggressively followed by the security guard. She gave me a fake smile and asked me if I found everything I was looking for today. They clearly don't care about customer service, and I have no interest in a hostile shopping environment. Sephora just gained a new customer.

  • Alexa Bustard

Usually lack customer service is what it is, but this Ulta deserves a shout out for their horrific customer service. There’s 8+ employees standing around chit chatting with each other not helping or greeting a single customer. When you do ask for help the huff and puff. I stood in line for 5 minutes (there was no line it was just myself) while the cashier had her back turned to me and the other associates stood staring at me. When she finally turned around it’s like I couldn’t be a bigger inconvenience- during the transaction she actually got on her walkie and asked someone to come release her from her shift..? It was honestly all so bizarre. I won’t be shopping at ulta ever again - this place and customer service is actually so embarrassing, save yourself the trip and go to Sephora or literally anywhere else.

  • leda ginestra

Customer service is spot on here! Every one I have encountered there is really sweet! My cashier told me she uses the illuminator I was buying & she really liked it. She was right; it's awesome. Really, the only complaint I have is that I always find TOO MUCH here! Not much of a complaint either. They always have what I need & I keep finding great products. Really love that they carry so many great higher-end products & you can try them all before you buy them. Last night I came in to get my eyebrows waxed but their brow specialist at the Benefit Brow Bar had left for the day, BUT they had availability in the salon. Alexis took care of me & she is wonderful! She not only did a great job on my eyebrows but she was also so easy to talk to.

  • Mariana Morais

Yesterday, My husband and I went to this store. The store was working normally. But, it happened something that I felt embarrassed. We arrived, two women asked me if I needed something specific . I said, no. I went just to looking. Perhaps, I could find interesting product, or I could find product with special prices. I often bought at Sephora store, I wanted compare the price. We were walking and see, when the security guy always circle around us. He was looking us, and walking, all time. I went to setor of hair he asked me, "You were ok?!" I was wearing shorts, t-shirt and sandal, for me I was good. I come from Brazil and I'm studying here. I was disappointed and never want to go back. And I wouldn't recommend this store to a friend.

  • Melody Donnely

Susan is absolutely perfectly lovely. She helped me find a perfect color match in a new brand of foundation, and never made me feel like I had to ask for help. She spent a lot of time with me recommending different products and I loved every one of them! She seemed genuinely invested in making sure I got the right product and people like that make all of the difference. I also had a great experience with the associate who rang up my order (I didn’t catch her name but she had straight blonde hair with colored highlights and her name started with an “M” ) who helped me find a small coupon and multiple people offered me help and direction during my visit. By far the best Ulta experience that I have had.

  • Paul R

An embarassing degree of Ulta employee indifference today caused the no-star. I stopped inside the doors to see which direction to head. A group of employees (3 at least, probably 4) were all talking at the same time about something humorous across the store. On my own, I found almost what I came for, and looked back and forth between two displays. Squatting down to a bottom shelf, I heard, “Need some help?” It was a very wide security guard. The activities across the store still in full swing, I said yes I do and explained which perfume I’d come for. But, obviously, she’s not sales, she’s security, so we don’t know. Well where’s this other kind? We don’t know that, either. Kept my hunded dollars.

  • Rebecca Claybourn

I have had good and bad service here. One manager, that I haven't seen the last two times I was there, is incredibly condescending and impolite. Some of the workers have been too. But on other visits everyone is polite and super helpful. So it can be very hit or miss with customer service. Selection is typical of any ULTA, but they do sell out of a lot of stuff so if you can't find something make sure you ask someone at checkout when they restock (the checkout people almost always friendly and polite; more so than the employees out on the floor, who are actually supposed to, you know, Help You). So 3 stars simply because you never know how nice/polite/accommodating the employees are going to be.

  • Sierra Gutierrez

Beware - you DO NOT have to provide your phone number when you make a purchase. I have had multiple cashiers at this Ulta tell me that the only way to buy an item and have it be returnable is if you give them your phone number. The fact that so many stores these days assume you should give out personal information (and then lie to their employees and tell them that it's impossible for a customer to return something without giving their phone number) is ludicrous. A manager had to come over and allow me to make the return. The cashier was super polite during the whole thing, but the fact that Ulta basically bullies customers into giving their phone number is not right.

  • Grace Kelly

I came here to get some Clinique mascara and moisturizer. When I went to check out, the cashier informed me there was a specific deal going on for people who spend more than $35 on Clinique products. She offered to open up the deal’s products for me to see what they were, and read through it quickly. Since I use most of those products anyway, it was an amazing deal. I got $150 in products for $35. I really appreciated her attentiveness and easy going nature. She didn’t make me feel obligated to buy it, she just let me know and helped me to make a decision. This Ulta has always been great, so I wanted to shout them out for this experience today.

  • just play

This store seems resist. I arrived the store a little bit late and the door guy just let the other people get into the store but won't let me. I only need to return the product nothing else I need to do. Meanwhile, I see their check out is still let other customer doing their payment! However, the lady with long dark hair told me that they are closed and cannot let customer in. Then why they let other people in? I am only one sec late then that customer. And their machine still working but they told me they will close it and won't serve me. Ok, I understand BUT do it the same to everyone and not just the certain race!!!!

  • Jennifer N

Not particularly my favorite location to go buy my beauty supplies, but sometimes there are a good deal here. I hate their coupons, it's very annoying. It basically doesn't have a good use unless you are buying items that are Sephora branded only. It doesn't work for anything else but that really. They have a good $5 section for gifts or small children. I wouldn't really recommend this place as your go to for beauty supplies. They have a lot of hair products, but I'm not sure this would be the place either. Items seem very over priced. They have your standard grocery store cosmetic items too, which are also over priced.

  • May Ooi (Happytree)

My experience started out good, was browsing for good deals and stopped by sun care section thinking I’m out of body sunscreen. I was taking two sun bum bottles side by side comparing the ingredients. One of the staff with green hair was putting items back onto shelf, and few seconds later, the other staff with pink hair came by and just told me off ‘just so you know, you can’t open to try the sunscreen.’ I feel harassed and just walk out. No more next time to this store. Ulta, you gotta fix something with this store based on the other reviews I read, I’m not the only one feeling the service is rude and discriminating.

  • Shayla McGinness

I typically go to the Georgetown location as it's closer to my house and the service is always welcoming without being overbearing. I came to this store with my husband and little service to return an item and smell a few perfumes. The entire time three associates hovered around us and started tidying up stuff super close to us. My husband even notified that they were watching us like hawks, clearly assuming we were there to steal. Even when we were checking out, we told the associate at checkout to have a nice day and she completely ignored us. I will *never* come back to this location, prejudice jerks honestly.

  • Stephanie Hammer

I called to be sure they had a foundation shade in my color and asked for it to be put on hold. Im 9 months pregnant, btw, with a 1 and 7 year old I had to bring with me. It took me 40 minutes to get there. When i did, not 1 employee would take accountability for telling me they had it and put it on hold, because it turns out, it was a lie. Then Jeffrey comes over and gets wound up talking to me like im a idiot and getting really loud. My blood was boiling because they lied AND there was no need for Jeffret to come interject himself when 2 other ppl were already speaking to me. THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY THERE.

I don’t usually write hair salon reviews, but I can say wholeheartedly that Seth @westgate Ulta is a genuine person and master hairstylist/ colorist. Seth listens to my concerns and reflects back to me what he recommends so we are on the same page. He has tons of experience and it shows! He offers valuable insight and suggestions I can use outside of the salon. Seth seems truly invested in providing high quality services while simultaneously caring for me as a person. As a person and professional, he stands out. If you are looking for peace of mind and someone u can trust with your hair, go with Seth.

Ulta Beauty in Austin, TX, was a good experience for me. The store was set up differently than the other Ulta Beauty stores I have been in. So, the items I needed were harder to find, and I had to find the staff to help me out. Other than this the staff were very friendly and gave good honest answers about products which I loved hearing. The location of the store was in the back of the Whole Foods area, which I had to guess on because GPS only took me to the general area to find. The store was clean, but items were harder to find inside the store. I didn't like having to search for items.

  • specimen insights

Has all the name brands but totally cold sales associate. So much make up on her face it looked like it was hard for her to move her facial muscles for simple speech. Asking about cruelty free products was met with a random guess rather than knowledge about the product they were selling. Did not feel comfortable to take recommendations from her or really even engage her. I would go in already knowing what your looking for and have answered any questions you might have about the desired products before hand. Got what I wanted but totally awkward shopping experience.

I visited this store to purchase products I’ve been using/researching. Similar to other customers reviews, I was asked twice (within a 2-3 minute interval) if I needed assistance - to which I responded “No thank you”. It’s hard to concentrate when the staff won’t allow breathing/thinking room. Ironically the second staff member who asked me if I needed assistance circled right back to “fix” items on shelves near me. Very suspicious to come directly next to me after speaking with your coworker. Bias and general customer service training is required immediately.

Bummed about how my brow wax experience went. Called to get an appointment with the benefit brow bar and was told that the benefit brow associate was on maternity leave. I said ok, is there an expected return date? No. Is there anyone else that does brows? Not for benefit. Does your salon do brows? Well yes. It felt like they didn’t want me to get my brows done there. I show up for my appointment at 1pm and found an associate in the store to check me in. 1:20pm and no communication still so I had to leave and get back to work without getting my eyebrows done.

2ne Time Purchasing Anything. Went online to look for a mini flat iron, found it in the styling tools instead of the rest of the regular flat irons. Compared to the one in Harker Heights I went to 1st time, I say the place was packed. New to the area and I wish the staff were a bit more cordial to make me feel welcome at least. I'm not a fanatic as a beauty ethusiast so it be nice to feel a bit thrilled to walk in and not feel out of place when looking for something in particular. Overall the place was neat and tidy.

Worst ulta I’ve experienced. I placed an order for pickup. Called 5 hours later to see if it was ready and she said they had no record of it. The server was down supposedly. Called customer service. The woman said my order would be ready next day. Next day I got an email saying my order was cancelled, no explanation. I went to the store to get my items and employees seemed very snotty and overbearing. They barely had any perfumes. The whole place was just a mess. I will not be shopping at this ulta again.

  • Samantha P

I was very upset with the service at this ulta. I was at the bare minerals section and one lady was testing out powder shades on a customer. I asked her if she could match my shade afterward and said "i guess" in a very rude way. After she was done with that customer I assumed I was next but she just walked away and never came back into that area. I was so flabbergasted by how rude she was so I walked out of ulta. i will never again go to this ulta and i will forever be a loyal customer to Sephora.

I come here for Dawn in the salon. Even though she’s my best kept secret I want to keep for myself, it’s only fair to highly recommend her because she is so good at both hair and making you feel like you are visiting a friend with unmatched customer service. Very professional and listens to you while giving you realistic expectations to whatever hair pic inspo you throw at her, and I have thrown many over the years :) It always comes out better than the pic and always gets me compliments.

The guy who I asked to blow dry my hair curly did the worst job! I went in for a deep conditioning treatment after that I asked for him to blow dry my hair curly, the stylist was inexperienced and was not able to do it. So he went in with a curler to curl my hair after blow drying it straight. The curls he did were the worst ! I lost so much of my hair and it ended up making my hair worse than Before. Very very bad experience. I almost cried when I looked at my hair.

Each time I have come to this location, I have not been helped. I have asked for assistance and waited and nobody came. I also asked for a product that had an empty shelf and was told it was discontinued. I then found the product as I was checking out. Plus, the product has not been discontinued. ALL OTHER ULTA's in the surrounding areas deserve the clientele way more than this location. This location does not deserve to remain open.

  • Catherine S

I got some face stuff at Ulta. Before the sale, the salesperson tried to strong arm me and said they *had* to have my contact info so they could link it to the receipt I said no, I didn't give put contact info. She pressed on and said they needed it to proceed, they must have it in case i wanted to return the item. I said no, I use paper receipts It went on and on, it was creepy. I may not feel like going back for a long time

  • Bridget Ramos

I went in today for a hair appointment, and it was PERFECTION! Jesse did such an awesome job, and all the stylist were extremely personable and great at what they do! I feel like Ulta salon services are so overlooked, but they nail it every time! The store location itself is super accessible and inside and out it is neat and clean. 5 stars for sure! Shout out to Jesse for making me feel myself again!!

  • Jenn Hill

Ewh, the attitude of these ladies that work there are terrible (not talking about the salon) I wasn't asked once if I needed any help finding anything, that's probably because they were all too busy in the chat square they had going on so when I finally asked for some help they came off like I was annoying them. I felt like I was being eyed down the entire rest of my visit after that. WON'T BE GOING BACK, THANKS.

  • Lea Covington Rowen

Ulta is by far my favorite store for cosmetics and hair care products! In addition to very helpful staff, they have a generous rewards program and a great return policy. With a receipt I was able to exchange an opened Bare Minerals product when I mistakenly purchased the wrong shade. And your rewards account tracks your purchases if you happen to no longer have your receipt. Well stocked and organized.

  • Erica Atkins

Just left the store with my two daughters, was followed by security the entire time. Told my daughters to return the items they wanted to the shelves. Will never shop at a store that racially profiles. I will be reported them to the necessary agencies. It was extremely uncomfortable as my daughter is moving to Austin to attend university and had her first experience with blatant racism. DO BETTER!

  • Lea Blue

Samatha fixed my two year self hair color disasters, (covid). She is so talented and very invested in her art! I felt un-judged as she fixed multi colors of brassy yellow, mousy brown and old age gray. She has done my hair now for 3 different times. She spends time listening and getting a complete picture of the color and style I want. Samantha made me feel young again. Thank you Samantha.

  • Deify Ad

DONT RECOMMEND!!! Don’t go !!!! Called to let them know my hair wouldn’t need a washing so all I need is a blow dry, flat iron and trim. I was told to still come in at the time scheduled. I took my hair down when I scheduled this appointment. I get there and sit for 3 minutes just to be told they won’t have time to do my hair cause “she didn’t know it will be this short and curly”!!!

  • Autumn Harris

My friend and I ran to Ulta due to a wedding emergency where my makeup artist canceled a week before I left for my wedding. I went in the store in a panic and Jay saw me stressing and immediately stepped in to help. He was was a lifesaver!!! He helped me pick out every product that I needed for my wedding and he was so nice! Honestly do not know what I would have done without him!

  • Vickie Hairston

Clean and temperature appropriate. Staff is always accommodating and professional. Nicole Howard greeted me with a smile answer all my questions it is entirety. Nicole is very knowledgeable in all the products and how to use the products I enquired about. Prices are reasonable and there is handicap parking. The store is handicap accessible with plenty of parking.

  • Lisa Dalton

Customer service in general seems to be lacking these days so I was very pleased with my last Ulta experience at this location. Several associates checked on me, helped me find a few different products (Zoey was a special delight) and discussed their personal experiences with these products. They were happy to help and that makes all the difference. Thanks!

  • Jeanne Mcdonald

It's my birthday and I'm very disappointed to find out that LEXI no longer works at ulta. As I dont trust just anyone with my hair only Lexi and i really do need a haircut. I understand that the store can't give out personal info about her but can you at least tell me what salon she works at now or pass my info on to her so that she can cut my hair?

  • Denise D

Apparently, this store has something for every Beauty Queen/Diva. I am just an average older woman, so I get my hair products and leave. But I do appreciate the "Ulta Club" & all it's weekly discounts. They also have great gifts with fragrance/other purchases several times/year, and have started carry department-store brands like Lancome. Yay!

  • Lisa Bolton

I absolutely love this location!! Richard, Sabrina, and Lanina went out of their way to help me find special products for myself, as well as suggesting items for me to give for gifts! I had the best experience with this wonderful crew and can't wait to visit them again! Ulta Beauty Gateway is my new favorite store! Thank you all very much!

  • Ashley Chen

Nice store, but bad service. When I entered the store, I was greeted by a lady with bright pink blush covering her cheeks. She stared at me contemptuously the whole time she was followed me around while I browsed through Lorac palettes. I was thankful when I went to the counter to pay, so that I could avoid her nasty attitude.

  • Kelsey Wagner

I've been to this store a handful of times and I always have to ask for help when multiple employees are standing around talking. I was there for about 30 minutes looking around before I was finally offered help this last time. I gave ulta more than a few chances and it looks like I'll be taking my money back to sephora.

  • Linda Lilley

Just left this store. Walked around for 10 minutes went to the cashier and waited. Then I stood at the front of the store and yelled Hello twice and no one responded. Finally I left. Called from the car and got hold of someone. I ended coming back in and the cashier was so unfriendly. Wont go back to this store again.

  • Brittany H

Customer service does not live here. Groups of workers standing around socializing with each other and not greeting or helping customers. Stood in line just to get help and get to the front and can’t get my birthday reward or the perfume I came for due to nothing being in stock. Reminded me why I shop at sephora.

  • Juliana Lansford

I called up to ask a few questions before I decided to go in and the lady on the phone seemed to be upset that I called to see about their services. I will not be going i this locating if answering the phone with the few question I had was a big deal can’t imagine how they treat people who walk into the stores.

  • Masha Romanova

Samantha helped me pick out some makeup today. She was super friendly and knowledgeable about the different products. I came in to look at a brand that ended up not meeting my expectations and she found an alternate for me that was exactly what I needed while still being cost effective. Thanks so much!

  • Jennifer Dow

I love this store. Great deals on perfume packages. There are stylist there to show you what fits you and your skin tone. I was even pre-approved for a credit card offering 20% off. Love it. And honestly I think any make-up, perfume, or nail polish wearing lady would love a gift card to Ulta!

  • Karen Kozlowski

Samantha L is by far the best stylist I've ever been to. She just "gets" hair, is a great listener, but will also make recommendations based on her expertise. She loves what she does and takes so much pride in her work. She's an absolute expert in coloring and fixing bad cuts. Thanks, Sam!

  • Candace Andrews

Nice merchandise but don't expect help. Can't tell who works here and after looking for someone not at the the register for 30 minutes...I'll shop somewhere else. If the merchandise had prices on them I wouldn't need help. Store not that busy. Please don't make me beg to buy from you!

  • Afnan Alnahdi

I love the beauty salon. I wear a hijab and they were always super accommodating and understanding:They provide screens to give me privacy while doing my hair.I was happy to finally find a place where I can comfortably do my hair, and they do it very well too ! Especially Alexis !

  • H CASTANO

Old lady at the salon desk is an awful condescending person. If you need advise about hair products and she’s the I my one there, we’ll you are out of of luck. If we as a customer ask for help is because we are lost. I hate to be talked down by the sales staff, is not right.

  • Daniel Escobar

Shania was very professional. Her customer service skils are superb. She was very resourceful. She was able to help us find all the products we needed. In a non rushed attention focused manner. Which gave us the best shopping experience. We ended spending close to $400.00.

  • Julia Pena

What a disappointment. I was scheduled for 12:30 at 1:30 have not even begun with my hair service. I made the appointment early Saturday morning now I have to get back to work. Wish they had been honest and not scheduled me if booked, I would of went somewhere else.

  • Jonathan G

I have been going here for years to get my haircut. Laura is one of the best and I really enjoy her service. I stopped going to any place with "clips" or "cuts" in the name after I found her. It's worth the few extra dollars to have a consistent haircut every time!

  • Maria Elena Munoz

I went in with an idea, and photo of how I wanted my hair done, I was advised differently, and it was a great hair cut, the place is clean, the people that I encounter, they were super friendly, and professional, now I know where to go for a professional hair cut.

  • Heidi Anhalt

They have a generous selection of cosmetics. This is a one stop shop kind of place. They sell hair and skin supplies, cosmetics, perfume and bath items. They even have a salon in the back. I go here every now and then and only if I have a store coupon.

  • Dennise Sandoval

I'm not normally one to leave bad comments. I just left the store and the experience was poor. I bought through the APP and picked up in the store, the employees passed me when I was in the "pick up area" after several minutes an employee

  • damon pechacek (Damon)

Ulta has a great selection and well stocked! Luis one of the managers was super helpful and was just buzzing around everywhere helping everyone! Made my trip into the store worth it as I usually shop online. Great promotions too

  • Lisa R

I love ULTA because the diva in me wants a little upscale makeup, while the bargain shopper is happy with all their mass merchandiser lines. It's a great one-stop-shop for everything beauty and the staff is always sweet.

  • Shelby Faulkner

Each employee will push you toward whatever brand they're paid to represent instead of listening to your needs and recommending something that could be of more use to you. I've returned so many products because of this.

  • meagan marie

No one greeted me or offered to help me,I had to ask for help and then in the middle of helping me the girl would walk away, this happened several times. I felt like I was a bother. Never going to that location again .

  • Denisse Andrade

Carolyn caught me before walking out empty handed. (The product I was looking for was out). She helped me find a substitute option along with some other beauty items. She was friendly, complimentary, and so helpful!!

  • Katface Beauty

I love this Ulta. Jesse their salon manager is wonderful. And John, who's one of their sales representatives, is simply a dream. #mcm squared! They're my new favorite thing. I'm never shopping anywhere else again.

  • Alex Klump

love this ulta! the current managers at this location are always so sweet and helpful. way better than the managers at the location in bee caves, which is a more convenient drive for me, but worth it. thank you!

  • Jordan Tucker

I recently visited the Ulta Salon on Research Blvd. it was such a superb experience! Kamryn was my stylist. She was so kind, professional, and gave me the most beautiful haircut. Highly recommend this salon!

  • Ciel Nova

Don't bother coming here if you're looking for a specific product. This store had on hands of the product I was intending to buy, but staff couldn't locate it. Other shoppers were having similar problems.

  • Sarah O'Brien-Gibbins

I'm pretty lost when it comes to make up, but Taylor was sooo helpful! She helped me find everything I needed that was in my budget. I will most definitely be back to this location in the future …

  • Sadia Iqbal

Ulta has always huge selection of make up and skin care . I had a pleasure of meeting Kenrik at Ulta research Blvd who did my hair color and cut . He is extremely polite and knows what he is doing :)

  • Diane Beck

Not what I expected. Received a facial and walked out with an orange face. I don't think any of the colors used were right for my skin tone. The lady said she had been doing makeup for over 20 years.

  • Yeva Hammond

Sweet, helpful staff! They were running quite low on several items though and it was pretty messy. A lot of the tester products were either damaged or empty. I also didn't see a Benefit eyebrow bar.

  • Sydney Guidroz

Best haircut I've ever gotten. I was opened to something new. Lexi saw my hair and knew exactly what to do. I have had strangers come up to me this past week to compliment me on my hair. AMAZING.

  • Ciarra Ornelas

Elle is FABULOUS. I was so lost in replenishing my makeup after this last year and she was such a warm person to talk to and she was extremely helpful. I will definitely be back. Thank you Elle!

  • eric caldwell

Fantastic selection at this store. Pretty much every product under the sun. The workers their were very helpful and polite. Would definitely check this place out if you need a specific product.

  • sophia russo

Went for a haircut and based on other reviews went with Samantha L. and she did an excellent job on my hair! She listened to what I wanted and made recommendations, the end result was PERFECT!

  • Bdada Aitchait

They propose the card credit to the costumers then when the costumers has a trouble with a payment they don’t help, they careless about the costumers bed experience with the manager …

  • Megan Hrncirik

Great Ulta, my only issue is that they didn’t have an esthetician last time I went, I guess she switched to another Ulta location. Wesley does a fantastic job in the salon, very personable.

  • LOz G

Every employee looked past me, had a confused look on my face the whole time as it being my first time shopping there. Being a Male I didn't know what to look for shopping for my girlfriend

  • Angel Z

Went in for a haircut by Niki and it was the best haircut of my life, no exaggeration. She was so knowledable and helpful and made my curly hair look amazing. Can't recommend her enough.

  • K D

Ella helped us today and was incredible! They took extra time to help us with exactly what we needed. They were sensitive and discreet and gave great recommendations. Ella hooked it up!

  • Mary Quandt

I love Ulta but this location has the worst customer service of any Ulta I've been to. Cashiers are very untrained and unfriendly and the staff on the floor were incredibly inattentive.

  • Rose Davis

Amazing customer service and the Salon has a new Manager Jesse..hands down best stylist and person. I was not sure about changing my hair color and he nailed it. Red hair don't care.

  • Erica Chan

When I walked in and saw the shelf completely devoid of the product I wanted, a friendly worker came up, asked me what I needed, and brought back a full stock of the item. Thanks!

  • Libni Salazar-Vazquez

For the make up newbies like me I highly recommend Sabrina! She was amazing and patient at explaining things. Awesome attitude and service. Can’t wait to come back …
