"What is beauty" these words were etched across the stone archways that rose before me at the peak of the hill. I don't know how I arrived here or for that matter where 'here' is. It's a very cold place despite the thermometer reading 451 degrees Kelvin. There's ice everywhere and what seem to be the frozen corpses of previous travellers. All of them were..reaching forwards. Towards what I'm not sure. there's nothing beyond the archways just empty frigid air. But there are hundreds of bodies all reaching beyond. The phrase echoes in my head "what is beauty" I say mostly to myself as I make my way through the archway. There was a sudden silence of everything when I was about halfway down the hill on the other side of the arch. There was nothing. No sound of wind, or the sloshing of my feet, not even my breathing. It was about now I caught glimpse of something in the distance. Deep within the blizzard there was a shape, a large misshapen form. It was massive in size dwarfing maybe even skyscrapers in height and width. I couldn't really make out what it was but it filled me with a sense of utter dread and foreboding. As I stumbled down the hill in the direction of the, thing my vision became hazy. The world was still utterly silent as if it had been put on mute. As I walked I thought I could almost see..a face or something similar on the shape, but I couldn't be certain in this weather. It was about then that I saw a flash of what were certainly eyes on the shape as the blizzard cleared up momentarily. I stumbled in my shock and fell down the hill. I don't know how long I lied there in the snow at the bottom of the hill that now more resembled a mountain than a small hill that it was earlier. My vision was more hazy than ever I kept getting flashes of that face within my vision. I couldn't even look in the direction of the form now without feeling sick. It was just there looming over me infinitely, and I felt it's warmth radiate over me. I passed out for what must have been days, maybe even weeks. I have no idea how I'm still alive honestly. But the shape was still there. I don't feel as sick looking at it now and I can almost make out it's face. It's haunting sunken face. It's almost, beautiful. I find myself reaching out for it. Trying to get closer to it's warmth. This blizzard is so cold.

I’ve always been on the fence about ULTA, this location in particular has been sub par than most. I’ve gone in multiple times and felt their esthetician were not extremely knowledgeable on products for my skin type (Dry), let alone complexion. Then today was my last straw I walked in, plenty of workers in the store — in the Clinique area, benefit area, walking around the store etc. and no one spoke to me! Not even a simple hi how are you, do you need any help. Mind you I walked around grabbed a few things and also looked around for things I couldn’t find for a good 30 minutes. It was not busy at all. It was late morning early afternoon on a Friday. There was no excuse for no one to even ask if I need assistance. Worst customer service experience ever! Multiple workers made eye contact with me without even saying a word. One finally said something after looking at me and I uncomfortably had to speak first. Now Mind you I didn’t pick up the drugstore items, I take special care in what I put on my face. I had intentions of purchasing a new eyeshadow palette, a few lipsticks, in addition to the smash box and Anastasia products I had already picked up, along with some hair products, but I was so disgusted that I Could not stay in the store any longer. I even contemplated leaving everything I had picked up and taking the 20 minute drive to Sephora , where they value their customers. I had a lunch meeting so kept the necessities and put everything else back. Your bad customer service is losing you money! I will NEVER come back to ULTA again.

I am new to the area but my go to store for perfumes would usually be Sephora however this was closer to me so I decided to give them a try. The first time I came in I was greeted and asked multiple times do I need help with anything which I declined because I like to smell perfumes on my own before purchase however the the employees stayed close and continue to ask do I need help. I felt really bothered that one employee couldn’t communicate to the next that I did not need help so I speeded up my shopping and decided to grab something that I had already purchased in the past. The second time I returned again was hoping to do the same thing and purchase a new fragrance but first smell before I buy I was still asked multiple times by different employees do I need help with anything then they sent security to the perfume section who was at the doors when I first came in to stand close by me while I shopped for a new perfume by this time I am really annoyed so I went to find in employees to help me to find a perfume they thought was nice for me just to speed up my process again, the employees was very helpful and I did end up liking the two perfumes and body wash they picked out for me but I was not happy with my experience shopping both times I visited this store. I spent a pretty penny on my perfumes but I felt very disrespected and like really don’t have steal anything.

12/11/2020 Around 6:20pm So i came here again. Its been months and that same rude manager , Michelle, was there speaking to me when i have not spoken to her. The girl at the register asked id i wanted a credit card and if id like to sign up and Michelle, the manager said "shes always in here,she might as well" So of course i declined when i was going to apply, so that doesnt help your store. And im barely in here.i havent been here since I left you the first review which was 4 month ago in JULY!! I came for a specific product. 07/11/2020 at 6:57 pm. So I was returning some products I bought early that day and the manager interupted the transaction with the cashier that was doing my return and opened the products and said" what was wrong with them? Didnt you just buy them?"...She had no need to interrupt the transaction and obviously with a receipt you can make a return and the dates on the receipt for the cashier, (which was not her,) to read. Same day return ma'am! Thats allowed! Your the manager shouldnt you know this? So dont act like I cant make a return. And THEN I asked the cashier if I can have cash and the manager responded (while she was with another customer) for her and said " no the money is returned the way its paid". Funny cus the cashier said and made the return to a card I didnt even use.

After approaching me they weren’t helpful at all so I ended up having to ask Christina. She’s so sweet and helped me out so much.. and that alone made my experience ten times better. I just came from work so I was looking a bit messy and the general manager, instead of greeting me and setting the example for excellent customer service.. the woman just stared at me up and down for a while and I was really confused (even after me made eye contact). As a service job it should be the standard for everyone to deliver excellent customer service and be ready and willing to help customers with their needs and wants and with a positive attitude. Negative personal emotions should be set aside when you’re in a work place.. that is just basic professionalism. I was truly in awe. Hopefully this reaches someone who can help me with my experience with Ulta at Steele Creek today.

I will never waste my time at the Brow Bar with Emily. Or maybe I should say she shouldn't waste her time. She couldn't Even do my brows she was going to pass out as she said several times. Her manager told me to come in due to the fact that she had no food. I guess it was my fault she couldn't eat breakfast. All I can say is she was a major DRAMA Queen and they lost me as a customer do to the way she talked about her manager to me and how her manager should of NEVER told me to come in...well Emily at the Brow Benefit you don't have to worry about me or anyone I know ever wasting your time you can eat and eat. Since you said "I'm so shaky and I'm gonna pass out" but when she wasn't even at her station when I got there to get my brows done she was back with at least 4 more girls just a talking away. Not even sitting so why wasn't she passed out then?? So unprofessional and childish. Drama, Drama!!! Please don't waste your time with her....you won't get anything but a huge waste of time! Need I say more If I could give a zero for a score I would, but they knew better than to do that so many zeros the place would close down!!!

I hate this location. I hate that it's so convenient to my house, bc honestly if it wasn't, I'd go somewhere else! The service is non existent! Nobody ever asks if you need help, and God forbid you ask for it. Today's experience took the cake, when I selected a piece of prestige Cosmetics that had a sensor on it. I walked around the store with the rest of my $400 worth of merchandise and all the while this thing is beeping. I'm pushing my infant around who's sleeping in a stroller, and I get to the other side of the store and this thing goes absolutely haywire. It woke up my infant, finally caused the staff to acknowledge me (I guess that's a good thing), but completely embarrassed and pissed me off. This is so lazy in my opinion. If your staff was to engage with customers and the store you wouldn't have to take security precautions to that level. The cashier was not sympathetic at all and gave a half-hearted, "Sorry about that." This is why I make a list, I go in, grab what I want, and try to leave as quickly as possible. Which is a shame because I would have spent a lot more money if someone were to offer me suggestions.

I don’t usually go to Ulta but I had gotten my curtain bangs done about 2 months ago there. Regina was awesome! I was going elsewhere the person who previously cut my hair butchered my bangs by cutting them too far back the rest of my hair half was an inch longer than the other side. I never noticed because I wore my hair up so much. So initially I had booked for just my bangs, but gave Regina permission to correct my hair and that I’m okay with additional service fees. Regina corrected everything! I had such a good experience I booked her again for Saturday, April 15. Went with a whole new look wanting long layers, shorter curtain bangs that are face framing. Mentioned I was going out on a dinner date. She went above and beyond. Regina is so funny, passionate about her work, and very kind. A lot of the other stylists were very lovely too. And hyping me up about my hair:) I ran over to show my friends at Versona who absolutely loved the new look too! I will continue to book Regina for all my haircuts

I came in for a couple things. Nobody was working the area I was in, I seen a worker pas by so I asked her a couple questions and she obviously didn't want to help. I went to purchase my items my cavalier happened to be the same girl that's didn't want to help with my questions. I bought my stuff and left. I went to my car to look over the reciept. Went back in to the store confused about my reciept. Cause they're having a sale buy one get one 50 off. I didn't see that it was applied. The cashier was explaining saying they take a certain percentage off of each item. if they advertise it then they have to give it to you. They advertised buy one get one 50% off. She called the manager over and they both jus smirked at each other. I was going to jus rerun a couple of items. Until I asked the cashier if she used a certain bar and of mascara & she was like uh no I don't use drug store items like okay are you too good for them? They continued to smirk and grin at each other. Super bad customer service

On Saturday, I went in to this location and was helped by a woman I'm going to call her T. She was helpful but over zealous in her attempts to find a full coverage foundation for me. Fast forward, the store is out if stock, try to order it up front the cashier she is clueless and T disappears. Then T reappears and stated the store in South Park has the foundation and she would bring it the Steele Creek store for me to pick it up. I have not heard from T since. I called the store today, they offered no apology, no recourse nothing. I was told, ma'am you are just going to have to go to South Park....I spent hundreds of dollars on Saturday. I will never go to the store again. Customer Service is everything to me and this store and staff lack professionalism and customer service.

When you walk in the place smells like heaven. It automatically puts you in a good mood. A store associate greeted me when I came through the doors and then allowed me to browse without any pressure. On one side of the store is every professional makeup artist dream. They have all of the high-end brands with the latest releases. And there is always someone to help you navigate and test products. Then on the other side they have just about every over-the-counter affordable makeup brand you can possibly imagine as well. When I asked questions about these Brands they were just as eager to help me as they were those who are shopping on the pricier side. Today's experience was one that had me wanting to go back in again and again. Thank you for my 30-minute Mommy Vacation!

I never had any issues with this location until I was not given my free gift after I purchased the right products and amount to qualify for the gift. I was however offered a free gift if I signed up for thier credit card which I declined. But when I asked about my free gift which I qualified for, I was told the truck didn't come. I even asked about a rain check but was not given any. I find it wrong that I was offered a free gift to sign up for the credit card but they could not give me the free gift due to me from purchasing $20 or more of the ultra beauty collection. Ultra beauty does not honor their word for giving a free gift instead holding back a free gift unless you sign up for a their credit card. I rather shop at a honest company.

I don't recommend this location. It is in a great area, but the staff are just awful. I went in with a couple of friends. No one asked if we needed any help, and they look at you like you don't belong in there, or are going to steal. Mind you, I spend tons of money in Ulta as well as my friends. I've noticed this is becoming more and more common among the Ulta stores. I get much better service in Sephora than I do here. I'd rather get asked a million times if I need help than not at all. Ulta needs to step their game up before they start loosing business to Sephora. The only reason I still shop there is their rewards points system is much better than Sephora's. But the lack of customer service is starting to overshadow that.

I went to get my hair done and they lady informed me the girl she put me with was the best. I showed her pictures and she basically destroyed my hair, leaving my roots still BLONDE when my hair is BROWN, and the ends a greenish color. I could tell that she was a little bit nervous after because she kind of pushed me out the door without really asking me if I liked my hair. Will never go back and will never spend $150 on getting my hair dyed a nasty green blonde color and not even getting my roots covered. Pretty ridiculous. The only reason I gave two stars was because the girl who did my hair was really sweet, but she could have definitely handled it a bit more professional when she realized my hair looked terrible.

I love Ulta. It's like a grownups candy store but with makeup. I like how you can try on makeup before purchasing it, however, the staff working today 12/28/18 at the Ulta in Rivergate were NOT helpful at all. Customers were coming in and looking around while the staff gathered amongst themselves talking and laughing. Not once did they offer help. One had to literally grab them and ask for advice or opinions about products. It was some of the worse customer service I've ever experienced! The best staff there were the cashiers. Not sure if a supervisor was on duty or not, but if they were, one sure wouldn't have known. The best part is that there is an Ulta in Rock Hill where I'll go from now on!

Don’t shop here if you don’t want your information shared. I refused to give phone number for a purchase, the cashier Zharia went to ask a customer in front of me for their phone number. She then applied that customers phone number to my transaction when I specifically asked not to. I now have that persons personal information from their member number and they got a copy of my receipt with credit card info. What a horrible experience in this store. I’ve shopped at other Ulta stores and never had this happen, if someone doesn’t want their phone number given do not use someone else’s. Hopefully this can be reviewed with their team and not be a common practice going forward but I won’t be back.

The security guard inside the store is seriously a creep . He looks like a young thin man and seem to be following me around the store. I was aware of it happening about 3 times where I would look up and he was near by staring at me , I was definitely uncomfortable, I didn’t mention it to anyone there. I made my purchase. As I was leaving I again seen him coming near me but this time he watched me leave out of the door then come to the window to continue and look as I walked out. That’s when I mentioned it to another female walking towards the store what happened to me she also said she had seen him at the window looking out as she was parking!

Kristina H. at the Benefit Brow Bar is the BEST. I have been going to her for close to 3 years now and she never disappoints. She truly cares about her customers and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with the end result. I love how easy it is to book online through ulta website - book with Kristina now, you won't be disappointed! Also, H'alina in the salon is a GODDESS! After years of searching for the perfect hair stylist, I finally found H'alina (at the recommendation from Kristiana)! I literally cried when I got home and saw my hair after my first session with her. She is the best! And is so easy and fun to talk to!

This visit was ok. I don't go often. This visit the cashier motioned to the cashier next to her (while she thought I was not looking) to look at me or at least in my direction. I was at the last register so no one was behind me. I just happen to glance up to see it go down between the two and their expression. On top of that the cashier seemed uninterested in doing her job. I get it! This time of year! It can be crazy, but I have worked in customer service for 22 years and it seems ppl don't understand how to be professional anymore. It might have been innocent, but the situation was easy to read in a negative way.

Never again! I will always make the trip and drive to the mall to go Sephora. Customer service here is nonexistent. They avoid eye contact so they don’t have to ask you if you need help. When I asked for help, it pained the make-up artist to help me. Sephora ladies are always helpful and go above and beyond. I was undecided on a fragrance and she sent me home with samples. They did the same when I was changing concealer. Ulta, women can spend their money at so many different stores or online. Bad customer service will never get a return customer. Headed to Sephora now!

Worst customer service EVER! Went in to buy one thing and couldn't find an employee willing to help me find out if they had something in stock so I waited in line for help. Once I was almost to the cashier, a young lady finally comes to tell me they'd check for me, but only to find out it was out of stock. Instead of helping me find something else, I went back and found a shade two times darker and proceeded back to an even longer check out line. I've worked in retail for far too long. I would've handled this a lot differently. Won't be returning.

I just recently tried the salon as well as the brow bar and I am completely sold! Not only was the service provided Excellent but the ladies there are extremely professional, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I wasn’t feeling great the day I went(not sick - just lady trouble) and they went above and beyond to help me quickly and efficiently. I could not say enough about the integrity and class of the associates at the store. I will be shopping at Ulta for all my beauty products and services moving forward. I’ve never been a fan of Ulta since coming to North Carolina but this location is the absolute worse. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times to pick up online orders but there 2 times where I wanted to shop around before grabbing my order. The staff was rude. One lady looked me in my face as I was asking for help and walked to the back. There’s always an abundance of staff in the store but nobody ever on the floor helping out customers. I only go here cause it’s a few minutes away from work but I would rather just get online shipping or go to Target now.

Great place to go to have your makeup applied, especially if you are not a regular make up wearer. However, I have to agree with the other review regarding coupons. They don't honor their own coupons. I had a coupon that was given to me for makeup application but because I could not see the same makeup person I saw before, I was told the coupon was no good. So... question... what do you do if your need doesn't match the make up artists' schedule OR what if the person were to no longer work there!?!? Well... your coupon is not honored!

I went to Ulta at Rivergate during the late afternoon, so it wasn't crowded at all. The salesgirls were helpful and friendly, one of them looking for a product that wasn't on the shelf. I use the Ulta brand powder foundation and powder. They had the make up priced at Buy 2\Get 1 free. I had a good coupon, and felt good about what I paid. What I've been noticing lately, is that the prices just aren't as competitive as they have been in the past overall. Kind of disappointing- I wish they had some better incentives.

Bad customer service!! I called saying I had a curbside pick up order and I gave her my last name. She did not repeat my last name right and went on mute to “look for the order”. Instead of explaining that they don’t have the order she just hung up!! So I called AGAIN and she was being rude. Didn’t say hi or nothing. They did have my order though because they finally looked for the right last name. Should’ve just listened or asked again what my last name was for clarity. Won’t be coming back.

Shaquana and her team are outstanding. The services was top notch. Liz found everything I needed. Just as I got to the car my key fell into the sewer. Everyone in the store worked together and came up with ideas to help me Retrieve my keys. I never saw such teamwork Creativity and support. Liz even had compassion to bring me some water. The true story had a happy ending with the help of 2 strangers and the staff at ulta I successfully got is accessively got my keys. Thankful and grateful !!!

General manager and her staff are RUDE. They tried to tell me that an online order takes a FEW hours to come down from corporate, but the website says curbside pick up within 2 hours. Also the “front end” manager said she was the store manager- LIED..the general manager seems lazy..and just wants to refer guest to call guest services instead of providing customer service as she should. Smh. Don’t have to worry about my business! Buyer beware. Customer service sucks!

I like this store. I like being able to shop the fragrances in an open aisle, unlike at the mall where you have to wait for help from a salesperson. The people who work there are helpful if you need them, but I usually prefer to shop without someone talking to me the whole time, and that is doable at Ulta. I'm not much of a makeup girl, so can't comment on that selection, but for perfumes, shower gel and hair stuff, I always find something I want here.

For the most part, I am generally satisfied with my shopping experience at Ulta. Most of the employees there are extremely helpful and friendly. They seem to care more about making sure you get what you came for, the care of your skin and hair, and how to use the products they have to offer. I enjoy the large selection of merchandise they have to offer. I have learned some neat makeup trips from the ladies there. Kudos to Ulta Beauty!

Top notch service. Each employee was very knowledgeable on the products in their section. Everyone greeted me with such pleasantries and extreme kindness. From entry to excellent my visit to this location was absolute supreme!!!! Pricing was about average but the sales were amazing. I definitely recommend visiting this location. They will show you what excellent service looks like. I will definitely be a frequent shopper here.

I have to say I am super disappointed in this location. Every time I go in to the store not one person asks if I need help. I was hoping to talk to someone about matching me for foundation and no one would even look my way. The cashier was not friendly either. I really wish they would look at these reviews and do something about their customer service. Most Ultas I go into are great but this is one is so unprofessional.

MEN ARE NOT WELCOME HERE. I was given poor customer service as soon as I walked into the store. The manager gave me attitude just for being there. The men's section is only a few shelves in the middle of the store. As I shopped, I was closely monitored by the management and other employees. I was wearing a suit. I'm clearly a businessman. Stop treating all men like criminals.

Very poor customer service. I spent 45 mins in the store and nobody acknowledged me, let alone approached me to help. Shelving displays where smaller items were kept are very messy and cluttered. Long line at checkout. Only after standing in line for 10 mins did another person come to help. For a place that sells high end supplies, they really don't project that image.

As an anniversary gift, I took my wife to get her hair done. Aisha did an awesome job! She was super happy. EDIT: Took her back as a follow up, after her hair grew out a little, and she was even happier than she was the first time! ATTENTION MEN: If you are trying to do something nice for your wife, send them to Aisha to have her hair done; she'll be thrilled!

I usually dread coming to this store and prefer to buy online because it's always a mixed bag for customer service. Sometimes there are really friendly and helpful employees and the other half of the time everyone acts like you are causing them pain just by asking where something is and have a terrible attitude about showing you or will literally ignore you.

H’Alina is incredible! I never leave her chair without feeling like a million bucks. If you’re looking for an awesome hair stylist in Charlotte, she’s your girl! I also highly recommend Kristina H. for brows. She’s professional, thorough, and takes the time to educate you on her process. She’s also sweet as can be! These two are why I keep coming back!

This was my first time going to ULTA to get my hair done as my normal hairdresser wasn't' available and I had an amazing experience. Jenn Latuga was a breath of fresh air to speak with and she was super nice. She really made magic with my hair and it turned out great!! I may have to ditch my old hairdresser and start with Jenn! If you’ve seen one, you’ve pretty much seen them all. They’re like Target: pretty consistent in their set-up, expectation, inventory. The only thing that really varies is employees, but the ladies here are wonderful—so sweet and helpful, definitely don’t act like they’re annoyed to have to be there. What a breath of fresh air! Will return!

I had an online pickup. The order was ready rather quickly, so points for them. However, the customer service deserves no points at all. They were rather blase tittering on rude. If one must purchase from Ulta use online shipping or just go into a Sephora....shoot even a Target! They seem to have better quality employees.

Had a awful experience here! The manager was super rude about a return that I was going to actually turn into an exchange until she was rude to me then I decided to to give them my business. I am a loyal platinum member for years and have never received service like this. Not very happy. Get better service at Walmart.

Kristina at Benefit Brow Bar is by far the absolute best! If you need to get your brows done, she is the one to go to. I have been going for years and I trust nobody else, but her. Kristina is very thorough and has excellent customer service. She is also very friendly and knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed!

Terrible customer service. I am a rewards member and spend a pretty penny every time I shop here but no one ever wants to help me. I like to get samples and they never want to give them to me. I will be spending my money at cvs or Sephora from now on. Not worth getting treated like an unvalued customer.

I went to Whitney for the salon and she made my dark roots and bleach blonde hair look flawless in a copper brown color. I love my hair! It is a bit pricey but with the discount they have going on it was worth it. I had a lot of maintenance that needed to be done. I have already scheduled my next visit!

1st time customer. Thankful they were open till 9pm. All others closed by 6. Anyway... Very knowledgeable and professional staff, reasonably priced, great atmosphere. Admittedly, I felt a bit awkward being the only guy in the whole store, but all was well. I'd definitely get haircut here again.

I appreciate that when I go in, all the makeup is marked whether or not it is Gluten Free. I have Celiac's Disease and it can be challenging to find makeup brands that are safe for my skin! Thank you! Now if you would just lower those salon prices...... It would be a 5 star review.

Had appointment set to get my brows waxed and tinted. They put someone in my place, then wanted me to wait 45 minutes. Brow girl didn't care at all. At least the one girl apologized. I made appointment so I could be in and out...that didnt work. I just left...not happy

The lady in the juicy beauty section was very helpful. I haven’t been able to find a great tinted moisturizer due to the sunscreen component included. But she was able to help me find one with a natural sunscreen and I’ve been using it ever since.
