horrible, horrible service. for context, my boyfriend bought me a gift card for $100 back when the Ulta was in Northgate for valentine's day. it had been lost before I could even use or activate it, so we went here to try to exchange it, having all the physical reciepts and information he used to buy it. I was directed to a manager, who told us that there was nothing they could do in store to replace it, and gave us the guest services number instead. called the number in store, thinking it'd be an easy fix and that we could still shop there, but spent 20 minutes waiting on the line, and made it impossible to navigate to an actual person. when I could finally talk to someone, it was only to be given ANOTHER number to call that was supposedly for gift cards specifically. spent another 20 minutes waiting and trying to make sense of the random automated options just to speak to an agent. and when I finally got a hold of someone, I was told that it was the store's responsibility to exchange physical gift cards and that they should've been able to. so I tried speaking to the manager again, to see if there was any way they would even try to honor it, but was immediately dismissed, ("What are we gonna do about the card customer? Well, they're back" ) and condescendingly talked down to in front of everyone that there was no way for them to access the card, even though it was literally a transaction made at that store. unhelpful, unprofessional, and embarassed me in front of the entire store. the ugliest a beauty store has ever made me feel. not worth your time, money, or patronage.

DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE HERE. My experience was nothing short of a disaster. I came in with a clear vision of the cut and color I wanted, but unfortunately, everything that could go wrong did. First and foremost, the stylist began highlighting my hair before even addressing my roots. It was a baffling decision and set the tone for the rest of the appointment. To make matters worse, there were noticeable spots of gray hair left uncolored, both in the front and back of my hair. The outcome looked like a rushed job, and my hairline resembled something closer to henna than a professional dye job. Furthermore, the cut I received was far from what I had requested. It's evident that attention to detail was lacking, and the end result didn't come close to the natural look I was aiming for. In the hopes of resolving these issues, I reached out to the manager the following week. To my dismay, their response was disappointingly inadequate. All they offered was a redo. Given the unsatisfactory work in the first place, I had lost all confidence in their ability to make things right. So I asked for a refund, but even that seemingly reasonable request was met with resistance and further disappointment. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for your hair needs. This place clearly lacks the skill and professionalism needed to deliver a satisfactory service. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration and find a salon that truly values its customers' wishes and satisfaction.

What has happened to this store? I loved the staff and location when they were at Northgate. Since the move, I have not been happy. Prior to the move, I had been a customer for brows and other services. I decided to book a haircut with hopes of finding someone I would return to. I booked the appointment over a week out, received multiple reminders and confirmations of my hair appointment. On Friday, about 3 hours before my appointment, I received a voicemail from Gillian saying that she wouldn't have time for my scheduled and confirmed appointment because the client before me had a much more intensive service than she planned for. I was asked to call back and speak to anyone about rescheduling for the next Wednesday - and that anyone could help me. I called back and spoke to another employee, as the stylist was not available. That employee was not able to help and I was asked to call back again. I finally was able to speak to Gillian, who did not have much time on the day promised (Wednesday). She also seemed very scattered and somewhat frantic. I've decided to cancel the appointment and will not be returning. I've always booked with stylists that ensure they have enough time for confirmed appointments and guidelines for those that have intensive services (which I understand the person booked before me was an intensive service). This is very disappointing and the importance of customers is severely lacking.

hey listen, I almost never write bad reviews unless it is really bad. I really like Damien and he is amazing, some new ones who are fresh to this customer service thing. Its okay that they are new, I can tolerate that. But, the others I have seen a lot before don't actually look like they want to help. I love ulta so I came here with a friend who never went to ulta before... and it was so embarrassing. I used to think Sephora was bad but 'beauty specialists' (the one with long hair especially) were looking the other way while we were looking for lip glosses and stuff, but literally followed me while we were smelling the perfumes. My friend is white and I am black... I don't want to say its racism (but it felt that way/ also not the first time, but I chose not to feel that way), to the point were my friend noticed and stopped leaving my side. Jesus! anywho, it is awkward. Its shameful. I don't even get stuff anymore cause I know I will be followed. Speaking of following, I am also scared for my car cause people sitting around will literally be eyeing you and sh*t. Lorrdddd. Makeup, skin care or hair care is not worth this! (Damien, you are amazing!) P.S. My friend said she will never go to Ulta again. (shocker)

Then at check out be ready to be profiled show your order number on the app on your phone, show ID and let them know how many items you ordered it’s not funny but it’s also funny & sad at the same time. She said the only time you don’t show ID is if you’re picking up curbside. That’s just craziness. Customer service is —0/10 they will profile you mean while people put stuff in their pocket and no one follows them because they’re not colored ! Train your stuff every paying customer should be treated equal !

Had a great experience at this location. I usually avoid going inside of an Ulta as I haven’t had decent experiences but this location really surprised me. Staff was very friendly. Checked in to make sure if I needed anything but wasn’t too pushy. Had everything I needed, which is such a relief as shopping in store at cosmetic shops are always out of stock. Mahlia helped me and she was very kind and patient. There were 2 specific products I was looking for and she made sure to check all areas, on the main floor and in the back and she found them. I say this because I am a makeup artist and I shop at cosmetic shops often to restock my Kit, which is imperative I have the proper supplies. The fact she went out of her way to double check all areas is uncommon at most stores. I appreciated her very much for doing so.

Literally worst customer service ever with the worst employees!! I’ve been to this location for in store shopping and online order pick ups a few times now, and every single time the employees have just been the rudest. I also saw another review about the security guard following them, and I’ve noticed that too! I get the store is in a sketchy area, but he doesn’t need to make the customers feel like they can’t browse comfortably. I wasn’t going to write a review initially, but the final straw was how rude the manager was today, and how her completely insincere apology actually makes her look worse. Someone needs to step in because the quality of this Ulta is horrendous. I will be happily driving to the Alderwood location from now on.

Security card friendly and working hard. One employee ringing out with long line. Others doing nothing. Ordered online and checked 1 hour later. Same cashier tall black man working hard and friendly. Waited 10 minute in mobile order area a girl's that were talking to each other for 10 min finally helped me, well your order is not done. I asked if they could pull order and she said I had to wait until email confirmation that order was picked up (with snotty attitude). Seems like security guard and cashier working extra hard and friendly. Others standing there not doing anything. Last visit to this ulta and maybe find another online option that is not ulta

Not a problem with this store or its employees in particular, but a pretty bad customer service policy that's going to have me going straight to Sephora from now on. I bought a product and received 20% associated with the store's opening. However, when I got home and opened the packaging, I found that the product had burst, leaving it crusty, dried out, and unusable. I came back to exchange it and was told that I would have to pay the balance on a direct exchange because they were no longer offering the 20% discount. Not doing a straight exchange on a defective product is a pretty poor policy, so like I said, I'll go repurchase the product at Sephora.

Laticia Hearne did an outstanding makeover for me. I cut off all of my long brown hair and needed a new look with my silvery, gray, black buzz cut. Laticia was so chill, really a wonderful human being. She was so kind and lovely and made me feel beautiful. She never once pressured me to purchase product; I easily purchased 1/2 of what she used on my face. It was really fun getting made up and I appreciate her talents. I have such a different look right now, I am staring at my reflection in the mirror and I love her ability to get rid of my dark eye circles and smokey eyes. I wish I could give her a thousand stars. Give this lady a raise Ulta Beauty!

I had great experience with the person who helped me with my online pickup. But the security guard followed me inside from his smoke break all the way to the back of the store where the cashwrap is. Then he just looked at me. It was to the point where I didn't feel like I was allowed to look at items in the store. As someone who has worked cosmetics for years, I have taken many trainings on profiling, I did not exhibit any suspicious behavior, so being followed was unwarranted. I won't be visiting the store again because of this experience. (Can't emphasize enough that the employee helping me was wonderful and kind.)

Some of these reviews are ridiculous. I've had great experiences every time I go to this location. The staff is as attentive as they can be with a store full of customers, and I've been given great recommendations on several occasions. If you're pressed about them having extra security on Aurora Ave, you're probably part of the problem. I love that they always ask for my ID with online pickup orders. I trust that they aren't going to give my stuff away to someone else, which has happened to me at different ultas. The new location is beautiful and I love the service I get! Highly recommend!

I fortunately had a great experience shopping here . I called ahead to ask if they had a certain product in stock after searching many other places this was my last stop the person helping me on the phone kindly went to check and after waiting just few short minutes they let me know that they did have it in stock and when I came into the store to pick up the item they recognized me and were happy to have been able to help me and gave me a few other tip on how to use the product I was buying at the time. I hope my future visits will remain as positive as this one was.

It’s a whole different layout compared to older Ulta locations but I think this is by far one of the worst locations in the area. It’s in a completely sketchy/unsafe area on 99 and the layout is god awful. Someone could come right in the front and grab n go a bunch of items VERY quickly. The checkout is in the back of the store which makes no sense at all. Will definitely not be going back. Highly recommend either going to Kirkland or Lynnwood instead of this location. If you have to, go during the day time.

I scheduled an appointment for my daughter to get her hair straightened and they called last minute and told me the stylist was not able to come in ... I asked if someone else could do my daughters hair because she has a play this coming week and has very curly hair and she said she wasn't able to help me find another stylist, or another location. I'm never going to this store again. Its so disrespectful to cancel at the last minute ! And not even try to make right!

Only come here for dye and products...never get any samples like I did in California so many stipulations apparently and never had that in my old store back down there but again other than that shopping experience is very friendly haven't gotten any dye or hair cutting done can't put any 2 cents in on that though I see lots of consulting done when im there the security is always very nice to me and I love that we need more people like that in this world

I have only purchased merchandise here and made returns so I have no opinion on the beauty services offered. My interactions with all of the employees have been excellent. They are willing to help with product location as well as recommending makeup colors when I couldn't decide which looked best with my skin tone. I have also returned online orders here and found it straightforward. The employees seem to really enjoy working together.

Stylist Gillian Hanson did an amazing job on my haircut. I have long black hair and wanted long curtain bangs and face framing layers. I felt so well taken care of. We collaborated during the process. She asked me if I liked it at each stage and I gave direction and also asked for her professional opinion. She was thorough in her work and treated my hair with so much care. Best haircut results I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Gillian!

Stylist Gillian Hanson is the BEST! I started seeing her a few months ago and every time she has colored, cut and styled my hair t's turned out looking fabulous. She is extremely dedicated to providing a great experience for her customers and listens to their needs. I love this new store! Yeah, the area is not the best but it’s incentive to get to the gym. The store is fully stocked which I never saw at the Northgate store. Also, in response to another review about Ulta not honoring a 20% off on an exchange, Sephora also does not honor the sale price (just had to deal with it) so really it’s no difference. I like the variety at Ulta and prefer not being hassled.

One of the WORST Ulta store I have ever been to!!! Everyone that worked there has zero customer service skills! They don’t want to help anyone! The cashier that was ringing up my purchase named Damon was horrible! Absolutely no customer service skills! Not friendly at all! He looked annoyed he had to be at the cash register! Honestly if i can give it zero stars i would! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!

Laticia is hands down amazing. I’m over 55, I’ve worked with many many make up artist over the years. I stopped in to get a few supplies and ask for a recommendation. She ended up doing shadow, lip liner, lip gloss and blush mini makeover recommendations, and they were all spot on perfect and huge improvement from what I had been using, which Sephora makeup artists had recommended. Purchased all!

Got my hair done by Gillian and couldn’t have had a better experience. I was really nervous getting my hair done in Ulta bc most salons are not black hair friendly, but was immediately put at ease. Gillian was knowledgeable and helped bring out my natural curls that have been escaping me for so long. Plus just having someone else wash your hair is the best. Highly recommend!

Terrible customer service at this location. Spent half hour waiting for help, and even though I asked, nobody helped me, ended up leaving without purchasing what I needed.
