Everything about this gym is absolutely phenomenal! They do a thorough intake, inquire about your goals and motivations, and personalize a nutrition and training plan for you to achieve those goals. I sought their services out because I had been working out for over 5 years, killing myself in the gym, but always felt like I was fighting my body instead of working with it. I couldn't achieve the results I was looking for, and didn't know what I was doing wrong. I wanted to find a place where I could work with a trainer 1 on 1 who would take the time to show me how to properly work out and teach me how to optimize my health and physical fitness level. They use a very thoughtful process in pairing you with a personal trainer best suited to your needs. Jordan is always enthusiastic, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She pushes me to my limits (in a good way!) and holds me accountable in a way that I could not do on my own. She's always available to answer questions and never makes me feel like any question is too silly or stupid. I've learned a lot from her in the past 2 months and feel and look healthier than I have ever been in my adult life. As someone who has never done a program like this before, it can be intimidating walking in to a place like this, but I can honestly say all of the trainers here are encouraging, friendly, professional, and nonjudgmental. I've also gotten to meet other people who work out at the same times I do, and they are equally friendly and supportive. We cheer each other on and I feel like we genuinely celebrate each other's accomplishments and successes. I cannot say enough good things about this gym. The equipment is state of the art, the trainers are wonderful and the other clients are down to earth and supportive. The environment is welcoming and, as long as you put in the work and trust your trainer, you will get the results you're looking for!

In August, I embarked on a 12 week fitness journey at Ultimate Performance, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. During the initial consultation I met with Alastair Woodward, the gym manager and together we walked through my goals (lose weight and shed body fat), past experiences (trust me, I've tried everything), and unique challenges (I'm a woman in her 50's). Alastair matched me with my trainer Ryan Cox, an absolute gem. His workouts are tough, pushing me to my limits, but his encouragement and positive reinforcement make each session rewarding. Ryan is patient, always taking the time to explain exercises and correct form, ensuring safety and optimal results. One of the aspects I appreciate most about the program is the holistic approach that Ryan and the Ultimate Performance team emphasize. It's not just about lifting weights; they understand the importance of a well-rounded program. Ryan provided valuable insights into the significance of a personalized diet, proper hydration, and adequate sleep in achieving overall wellness. The U.P. app is simple to use and an easy way to communicate my adherence (ahem, or not) to the program. Every two weeks, there's a weigh-in, pictures are taken, and body fat is measured. What better way to keep you on track? From the moment I stepped into the gym, the entire staff made me feel incredibly welcome.The atmosphere at Ultimate Performance is motivating and energizing, creating the perfect environment for achieving fitness goals. Highly recommend the UP Transform program & training with Niko! After about 15 years of high stress work life, I was looking for a structured program to help me get back into a fitness-oriented lifestyle. I tried CrossFit but got injured, tried personal training at my gym but my trainer was young and inexperienced. I needed more professional support to help me push through some behavior change and make sure I didn’t aggravate an old injury. I started the UP program in October and it’s been an excellent experience. It’s a totally different level than any past training I’ve done. I love that everything is data-driven. My trainer Niko has been incredible helping me adjust to really ambitious goals, while still making the program feel accessible and positive. I was a bit intimidated to come into a weightlifting gym, but it has been a really fun experience - both challenging and a very supportive environment. The gym and team feels women-friendly and it’s inspiring seeing women of all ages who are really serious about fitness. I highly recommend the program to anyone who wants a serious and ambitious lifestyle change with a really supportive dedicated team!

I have nothing but praise for my experience at Ultimate Performance in Washington DC. UP uses evidence-based techniques and nutrition guidance and they are as serious and enrolled in your success as you are. As a near novice in my fifties, I had reservations, but my trainer, Terrell Green, is informed, invested in me, and is truly a partner in every rep. His attention to detail keeps me on point and constantly progressing, always with safety and form in mind. I am well on track to reach my goal and have learned to habituate healthy habits in the entirety of my life. I joined UP a year ago and I cannot say enough good things. I was looking for something that combined nutrition and exercise this was a recommendation from a friend. From the moment I stepped into the gym, I was greeted by an atmosphere of motivation and support. The staff and fellow gym-goers are welcoming, making it a really welcoming environment. My trainer, Jordan, is awesome. She tailored a plan that was challenging yet achievable, pushing me beyond my limits and while holding me accountable. He’s very knowledgeable about both fitness and nutrition and has been a great resource. The trainers are deeply committed to ensuring you achieve your goals — they begin with a detailed assessment of your body composition to formulate a super specific diet plan just for you, and structure each workout to push you to your absolute limit. It’s not easy but seeing the weight disappear and my body changes makes my intense workouts with Jordan totally worth it! I decided to train at UP, because I was having trouble losing weight on my own. So far, I have achieved amazing results with my trainer Eve. I've lost about 25 lbs in 9 weeks. In general, UP trainers will train you hard, but will they make sure your fitness plan is comprehensive and fits into your lifestyle. I recommend them to anyone serious about achieving a fitness goal.
