Looks like I'm joining the ranks of many with my utterly terrible experience with this post office and its staff. I was scheduled to receive a package today, 3/16/17, and it was imperative that I actually received it today. Therefore, the sender paid $41.34 for Priority Mail Express and required no signature so the package would be left. Additionally, the sender sent it to my work because someone is always here between 9am and 5pm. I waited all morning until I tracked it again at 1:00pm and received the following notice: Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available). The notice was a complete lie because I have been present and available at my office ALL day. The delivery "worker" made ZERO effort to reach anyone or deliver the package to my offices’ entrance. I can’t help but feel the letter carrier realized how important my receiving the package was considering it was Priority Mail Express, yet that didn’t seem to matter to him/her. Perhaps, if this letter carrier remains employed (as I am quite confident he/she will) the $41.34 is cost my sender spent should come out of the letter carrier’s paycheck. After getting the notice, I immediately went to the post office to address my concern; however, I was treated worse than I have ever been treated by a so-called "professional" in all my life. The woman working the desk motioned me to come up but never even looked up from the stack of envelopes she was continually re-stacking. She looked at my notice and said "Today's the 16th!" looking at me as though I was stupid. I said "Yes I realize that, but it is imperative I get this package today and the delivery person did not try to contact anyone at the address." She then tells me the trucks won't be back in until 6:00pm. I asked if I could come pick up my package then and she said I could. I even asked twice to clarify since I couldn’t even get her to look at me and both times she said I could. As I was leaving, I checked the hours posted on the door which read 9:00am to 5:00pm. I desperately need this package today, so I will go back at 6:00pm though I HIGHLY doubt there will be anyone there. I realize USPS is a government agency and not part of the private sector, thus they are held to no customer service standards, yet this type of “underachieving” work ethic is less than what you would expect from someone forced to pick up trash on the side of the road. And judging by the rest of these reviews, it’s not just me. This place has a truly deplorable staff. I only hope one day the employment of these individuals will rely on their performance.

Went to this post office to follow up on a missing government document which USPS misplaced more than 12 days ago. We already filed the required forms a while back to report this issue, so this was just a follow up visit as instructed to do by the mail office to check if this location have undeliverable mail for us. I stood at the customer service window (I was 2nd in line). After finishing talking to another clearly unsatisfied customer, The supervisor (Ms. Bowman) told us that she will be right back and closed the window. I waited around an hour before someone else came back and said that the supervisor left the facility and he doesn’t know where she went or when she will be back and that there are no one there to help us. While waiting this long I also learned that 2 others standing in line had similar issues of lost passports or government documents. When I got home I called the phone number listed for that location, but I was routed to the main central call center. The lady on the other end of the phone was extremely unprofessional as she was clearly eating loudly and talking to her colleagues while attempting to talk to me. Although I said at the beginning of the conversation that we filed all the required forms to report and hopefully find the missing package, she said casually that we need to file the same forms that I just mentioned to her. She finally took my number and info said the common phrase “we’ll see what we can do”, before hanging up. We are still waiting for any minimum communication from USPS that will help locate the missing package. UPDATE: it is day 42 chasing this package with the P.O. We learned from someone at this P.O. that the package was delivered to a wrong address, returned to the post office at some point, and again the staff lost the package and don’t know where it went. Still can’t get a hold of the P.O. supervisor (Ms. Bowman); as every time I visited between 11am and 3pm and asked for her, the staff tells me she’s out on lunch or away with no idea when she will return.

I personally think this Post Office and its staff should be investigated and charged for mail theft. Period. I have been advised by neighbors not to send anything of value (be it books, medication, online purchases etc) through this Post Office because of their incessant need to make your packages disappear into thin air without any accountability. To test out this theory, my husband and I had a few test runs with these scoundrels in uniforms a.k.a USPS workers and we have sufficient evidence and witnesses to file charges against them for package theft and forgery of signatures. We have had 3 instances whereby the mail delivery person forges our signature and based on the cameras in our gated community, there was evidence that he never showed up at all. We also have one instance where signature was forged by mail delivery person and packaged left at the door. I have him on security footage camera. I understand USPS workers for the most part are lazy bums who, otherwise would have been on welfare but here they are lucked out, employed by the government. However, these lazy bums should also understand that Forgery crimes can be felonies or misdemeanors in Texas, depending on the item involved and whether the victim is an elderly person. My biggest concern is that people who have no regards for the law and would go as far as forging signatures are allowed on our property. This becomes a safety and security issue when your mail is being handled by people with criminal proclivity and no clear sense of right and wrong. I repeat to come to my property and sign my name, claiming I was home and I signed is dead wrong. Like many others have said, this USPS location should be shut down. It is quite a sad day in history to know that these many uncivil and unprofessional beings are considered government workers and are allowed on people’s properties just because they are “government workers”.

I’ve somewhat given this location the benefit of the doubt since I’m a reasonable person but recent experience has really turned me off. I am now convinced this is easily one of the worst post offices In America. They literally don’t care about anything as far as I can tell. I’ve met my carrier and he’s pretty nice and seems ok and one of the guys that works the desk did seem like he cared, but there are some serious problems with the staff here. I had an overnight package recently come in and get scanned as having left a notice Because there was no authorized recipient available (even though signature was waived and I was at the house all day). The scan happened about 3 hours after it arrived at the post office. Flash forward a few days and no package and I go to the office. I was able to retrieve my package but what I found out was that they literally got my overnight package, scanned it as notice left AND hand wrote on the package that a notice was left and then just dumped it on one of the bins up front. Days went by and it just sat there. Look, people can make excuses all they want. I get that they are probably as understaffed and overworked as the next place. With regular priority mail I understand that delays might happen and it’s not guaranteed. But express you pay them a lot of extra money to at least have what you are sending be treated as important. Heck, it doesn’t even have to be overnight, 2 days is fine. But to just take the damn thing and intentionally lie about what happened so you don’t have to leave the post office is insane. As a community we really should try to figure out if there’s anything we can do. It’s unfortunate there’s no one to hold these government entities accountable. It’s really ridiculous.

we came here for the children's passport services which we scheduled about a month ago. if you know how bad the backlog is right now, it's worse. our children already couldn't take off of school but we had to. Keep in mind you can only take a 30 minute slot. we were scheduled for 9am to 9:30am. we got there at 8:45am to make sure we weren't late for this appointment. it was 9:15am when the desk lady finally told us that the passport clerk is out on vacation. We've been waiting for 15 minutes, she knew we were there for the passport service when we walked in and she just told us this fact. Then she continued to tell us that the person who's taking the clerk's place temporarily is ALWAYS late. imagine what we were thinking at this point. we're very patient people to a fault, so we waited. 9:30 became 10 am, then the desk lady said, the temp clerk called in sick. they're checking if there's anyone else coming in. you can even hear yelling in the background that sounded like someone was sick and tired of working there and was quitting. keep in mind, my kids were pulled out from school for this. there's no slots for the weekend so we don't really have a choice. 11:00 am, we decided to take my children back to school. the desk person told us to that "they'll see" if they can get someone to come in at 11:30 but they're not sure. at this point we're done. government beaurocrats will always hold you hostage. they expect you to comply with the rules, while they get a pass for all their consistent shortcomings. we have no clue where to go next. probably schedule multiple slots from different locations and see which one works? but this location definitely earned the lowest ratings for a reason.

This place is an unprofessional disaster. I have a package worth $120 marked "unable to access delivery location" twice a week and a half ago on a Monday. That Wednesday, I call for an update and they promise me the carrier is out to deliver it. No delivery. That Friday, I get a notice that it's available for pickup. I go to pick it up the following Monday and wait for 30 minutes while they search for the package. Nowhere to be found. Employee told me the carrier probably just didn't want to get out of the vehicle to deliver it. They take my info and promise me that I can follow up in 48 hours. Forty-eight hours later, I call the post office: the line is off the hook all day. I go to follow up in person and spend another 30 minutes waiting. The employees are very nice and helpful (thanks, April!), but the supervisors are slow, sloppy, dishonest, and full of attitude. They told me the following excuses this second time: It was not the usual carrier; the label fell off; the label was rewritten; the package was out; they had just seen the package;--all these stories in the same 30 minute time frame. They take my information again--apparently they did not start an investigation. And believe me, I got all kinds of attitude even I was being very patient. While I was waiting (because it took 30 minutes and multiple intercom pages to get a supervisor up front), another customer had the same "no access" complaint about a 25-pound package and another customer had the same "no access" complaint about a controlled prescription that they were now behind on. This place is awful. Nice employees, terrible carriers and supervisors.

I moved to the 77008/9 zip code in February. My post office is 1300 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008. Since February and today (8/20/2015) this USPS location and it's mail carriers have successfully lost nearly every package I have supposed to receive. When I place an order online or someone is to mail me a package I won't accept it or will cancel the order if USPS is the carrier. Most of the time the mail is 2-3 weeks late and that's IF it's not "undeliverable" and sent back to the sender. Don't bother to call this office. They hang up on you 90% of the time, if they don't have the phone off the hook. If you go into the office you aren't greeted by anyone. You have to ring a bell and 3-5 minutes later someone will come strolling to the front desk with a terrible attitude unwilling to help you. They have no computer system, so write down lost package shipping numbers on printer paper with a marker, then disappear for another 15 minutes "looking for your package". Not once have they actually found a package of mine that the ASK-USPS hotline swears is at the location. The workers at the office have poor poor attitudes, talk to you like you are a crazy person, and have the IQ of a monkey. For the life of me. I cannot understand how such an easy, straightforward, simple service such as mail delivery can be this difficult. Well, this USPS location has proved me wrong. USPS has lost all of my business going forward. Unless deliverable by UPS or FedEx, I won't purchase or send. And I'm going to continue dropping off bags of junk mail USPS stuffs into my tiny apartment complex mail box at their office.

My package was supposed to be delivered Nov. 28th (Monday) to my apt complex, but the delivery failed. I get a call from the supervisor from the USPS location that was making the delivery at 9PM that night saying they'll open a service request and try again in the next 24 hours... sure enough the delivery failed. On Friday (Dec. 2nd), I drove to the USPS and asked an employee if they have seen or even no where my package is, and they had no clue where it could be cause it wasn't in the back. They took down my tracking #, phone #, and reopened a new service request for the supervisor to see whenever she was in. No one ever reached out to me, but today (Dec. 7th), I received an email from the Houston C&IC (Consumer & Industry Contact) saying the service request has been resolved. I still don't have my package, so I called the number in the email and it's to the location my package was getting delivered from. I told them I got a service request # saying it's been resolved but I still don't have my package; took my tracking number down, saw a resolved request, and put me on hold... for AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES. I don't even know where to escalate this to since it's already gone to the point of contact. I can't even just say "leave it at the location I'll pick it up" because they don't know where it is either. Trying to be empathetic and patient here with the holidays coming up, but I'm really frustrated with how things have been handled. Long story short: Been waiting on a package for 2 weeks to get delivered by USPS, USPS: "what package?"

5/8-Called at 9:02am. Had to call 3 times before I finally got someone. I was then placed on hold for 12 minutes before any questions regarding my tracking number, name, or address were asked. I hung up to get the phone ringing again. It took 3 more calls before I got someone. Someone by the name of Miranda answered. She had an attitude from the beginning and I told her how long I was on hold. She then asked for my address. I tried to explain my confusion (my package is being held at this post office “per request from the customer” but I never requested it be held; it could have been delivered at 10am that day, but instead they held it without my permission), and she immediately cut me off rudely, again, and asked for my address. As I began to tell her my address, she cut me off, once again, and put me back on hold. I was put on hold for 20 minutes, my call time now being 32 minutes total. I’m making a complaint with USPS and informing them about the shadiness of this location. Who authorized that my package be held at the post office “per customer request” when I’m the customer, and didn’t request anything?? Why did it take nearly 10 phone calls to get an operator? Why was I on the phone for nearly an hour?

The mail carrier scanned my package for delivery as delivered, but I knew it wasn't delivered because I had someone at my address to receive the package. The mail carrier scanned it delivered and left it in her truck. I waited for the mail carrier a couple of days after and when she delivered my mail I opened the door and asked her directly where my package was. She said it was still on the truck. I asked her to go get my package and she told me I would have to wait until she finished her route. The carrier told me she was instructed to scan packages as delivered that were still on the truck at the end of the day. I just received notification from Consumer Reports (CR) my magazine was returned by the United States Post Office as "undeliverable." CR will not redeliver the magazine, so I lose this month's issue. CR has deactivated my subscription until they receive a deliverable address. The mail carriers won't read the house numbers on each house and over the years my mail gets returned as "undeliverable." I can't believe how bad these mail carriers are. They need to get off their darn cell phones, pay attention, and start reading house numbers. They need to stop scanning undelivered packages as "delivered."

Worst post office ever. I’d give this place a zero if I could. I put in a request to stop mail and bring back what’s in my box so I could come pick it up since I lost my key. That was over 48 hours ago and surprise surprise it wasn’t here when I came to pick it up. They also shut this place down at 11am on Saturday even though it says they are open till 1pm on their sign. I waited in the lobby for almost 30 minutes ringing the bell to have someone come help me. Nobody ever came even though the bell is loud enough to hear from over a quarter mile away. I finally had to walk around the back and spoke to a guy that was smoking a cigarette and pushing around a big cart of mail (real safe). This place needs new employees because when I finally talked to someone they acted like I was the biggest inconvenience in the world. I had to tell the lady helping (and I use that term loosely) my address 3 different times in order for her to go check if my mail was there, and each time she brought back mail from different homes around me that she would have just given to me without even checking who I was. This place sucks.

This is absolutely the worst post office in Houston. Do not use the drop boxes for any reason. Also, do not use the drop box on Seamist Dr. (the mail from that box is also taken to this post office). If you sell anything on Amazon, eBay, or similar services -- do not use this post office! Take your mail to another post office, even if you have to drive an extra mile or two. I have had five small packages -- all with tracking numbers, all with the properly metered postage affixed to the package -- all lost, within the last three months. The items were never scanned at the point of origin, and the USPS online complaint system does not allow one to report issues with mail at the point of origin, only mail that's in transit. The best thing that could happen to this post office is for it to shut down TODAY. I can only pray that the entire USPS becomes privatized, forcing the whole system to conform to market standards of basic efficiency and accountability -- it works quite well in other countries.

Incredibly unprofessional team. I got a letter from Europe and came to pick it up. There was a black lady working inside and she said "I can't find it, that's it, just can't find it." I left my phone number and she never called back. After a couple of days I went there again and another ridiculously rude lady working on Monday mormoning gave me my letter all wet. She said that's why they didn't give it to me last time cos it was wet from the rain. I asked her why it's damages she said maybe I'm able to still read it or just give them a call later. When I opened the letter in front of her, showing that I can't read anything coz it was wet and damaged the whole thing, she said the sender needs to claim. She LAUGHED LOUDLY CRACKING UP in my face. Ridiculous that I haven't even heard an apology. Very rude and completely unethical people. A letter is a personal thing and should be treated accordingly or just a damn apology. I really hope some managers see my complaint and do something about it.

I recently moved to heights and needed a new mail key, so I went there this morning. The whole site is under somewhat construction, there's no real entrance but only one opening with the sign of Authorized Vehicle only. I was nervous but still drove in. A usps guy was walking on the sideways so I asked him if this office is running. He said go to the one in yale street. So I went to the one in yale street, the lady there told me i need to go back to the previous. okay. So I went back again to this one, this time I searched carefully if there's any door or window. Finally found a parking and went to a security door and a woman talked to me through the speaker. I explained the situation to them and surprisingly it went pretty well. That woman found me another guy named Roy. Roy was really nice, got me the key, and even checked if there's mails for me. I showed him some of my closing files and thats it, I got the key! Took me some drive time but glad the result is good! Thanks Roy!

I swear this is a real review, and I still feel like I've entered the twilight zone... Paid express for a package to be delivered 1 day- figured I wouldn't get it but I needed it for a project so I went ahead with it. Package ordered 9/29 late at night, company shipped it first thing 9/30. Package in hand at noon 10/1!! Package showed delivered at 11:16am today, coincidentally the exact moment I arrived at my house. I called this post office location at 11:44am, and not only did a lady answer (think she said Melissa, but I went into shock so her name is eluding me), she asked my address, said hold on, 10 seconds later said she was calling the carrier and that he was going to come back. I said thank you and we hung up... But I was super confused. Not 15 minutes later, our regular mail guy (who is really cool already) pulls up to my house with my package!!!!! Feel as though I have won the usps lottery!!!

How about the mail carrier lost my rent money order... The payment was hand delivered to the carrier at the mailbox on the 1st (keep in mind it's only going to Sugarland which is 30 mins within the same city). Today is now the 13th day the rent has not made it. Not only do I have to provide another month worth of rent because it sounds like bull xxxxx that my money order is lost but the fact that the branch located on 19th street can care less about the delay that they've caused. I've called and spoke with not only the area manager but the post master who literaly gave me her word she'd call back at a specific time which is now 3 hours past the time. It's now the 14th of the month and no one can tell me where my money is. I would suggest priority mail going forward if you insist on using usps. From this point on it's worth paying the extra money to use FedEx or UPS just for the customer service alone.

I went Monday after Thanksgiving weekend. I was missing my package that was suppose to be delivered Sunday. I was super nervous that I wasn't gonna receive my package because I know how hectic they are from everyone ordering packages over the weekend. The whole staff did their best job to get me my package. Especially Ms. Jentree she went above and beyond even calling me after hours to make sure I had received my package. I know USPS gets a bad rep especially this location. I did see a lot of rude people while I was there but it wasn't the staff it was the customers. My post guy hand delivered my package and I couldn't of asked for better customer service. He always goes above and beyond to get me my packages. Thank you so much for everything y'all do and deal with. If people have issues with this location maybe ask yourself if you treated them respect or if your the problem.

  • Paul Brooks

If I could give zero I would. Try to ship a package internationally - I dare you. ONLY at this post office would they let you get in line for 20 minutes (more on that later) and THEN tell you “Usps requires people to print the postage and customs forms at home”. First, this is almost impossible if you’re buying a box from the post office. Second, it’s completely untrue. Go to the one on TC Jester and they’ll do their jobs. The other main issue is the fact that they don’t care about how long you have to wait. Any other facility calls extra workers when the line gets long. I’m literally standing in a line that goes out the door. One person serving. Three others chatting. Even if that’s necessary the optics are terrible and they know this. Both of the above are pure choices by the local Postmaster. In short, they don’t give a toss about a customer’s time nor their satisfaction.

The wors USPS location ever, because of the workers that work there. One black woman with short dark hair was walking arounf with an orange on her hands and eating it while customers were asking her questions. Its busy time in the morning, everybody gotta go to job, and that location people are not doing their job at all. I asked for a box, you could say yes or no, she just dissapear for like 20 mins, when i asked the guy there who worked at 9:30 am at this location, he said she is there, go ask her yourself. Then i went the other side, she was speaking with someonw else, then she said i am sorry i will be back. Are you kiddning right now. You cant play with people's time like this. I left without conpleting what i needed to send. And late to my work. We just ask you to be normal, just please do your job and be human. Why being so rude and not doing your job for no reason.

  • Manu chaudhary

I was a bit skeptical of going to this usps location after seeing the negative reviews. However, my experience has been nothing but awesome. I have used this location a few times to pick up packages and to send packages. I have always found the employees to be very helpful and polite. I didn’t find long lines either, may be it was the time of the day. Last time when I wanted to ship a package I decided to go to fedex first. fedex location was about 15 minutes away and the lines there were very long. It took me half an hour to get to the counter and the employees were in such a rush that they didn’t clearly explain all the options. Finally when I got the quote it was very high (3 times what I got from usps),so I decided to go ups which was very expensive as well. So I decided to ship through usps and the experience was great. This is going to be my first stop from now on.

  • Dana Sharbonno

The worst post office I've ever had to deal with. They lie about delivering packages and I use my security camera to prove it. They are impossible to get a hold with on the phone. Their hours make it difficult to visit in person if you have a job. I took time off to go in this morning. Waited 30 minutes and they couldn't find my package. The manager Promised to call me at 10:15am when her driver got into the center and she didn't follow through with a call. I am still at a lost as to how they stay in business. I also have no idea if I will ever get my package. This is a recurring issue with deliveries at our address in the heights. There are times the post office is so lazy that they leave our package out by the curb as if it were trash to be picked up. The level of customer service is horrid. Calling to find a solution and it's a 50minute hold time on the phone.

  • Amanda Moncure

2 stars because Monica is exceptional….beyond. She provides amazing customer service and i always feel like she “cares” even if she doesn’t lol other than that, the carriers need to get it together. Every day is a roll of the dice as to whether or not they are picking up my packages. I spend more time on my Ring camera, in the hopes that I’ll catch the USPS van and run out to help them do their job, than i care to admit. When they DO provide the service promised, they leave my gate wide open ? Just beyond rude - lazy - unprofessional - petty…. I’m not sure why Monica hasn’t moved on to Director of Sales at Meta or something, but i can’t reiterate how wonderful she is - and probably the only reason i haven’t imploded. Photos and videos to follow. *i would also like to start a formal protest in the hopes of getting Gizmo back - best.human.EVER.*

  • Stacie Gage

If I could give them a lower score I would. This post office is dirty, mail is only picked up once a day when dropped in the mail bin, and it is full on a regular basis. The mail carriers never show up, we see the one for our route maybe once a week! Shirley and Angela at the front counter have the stuff going on, they are so helpful and professional!!! BUT no one else at this location does. I have called 5 times and the phone rings, and rings, then goes to a beeping sound. We have put in a change of address, and mail is still being delivered to the old address, and when they see that no one is there, they take it to the business across the street, which has nothing to do with our business! They had a bucket of mail stored in the back of the post office because they didn't know what to do with it, that was ours, but didn't care to forward it.

  • Sana Rahman

I am so frustrated and exhausted with this branch. I have talked to supervisors there and still nothing changes. Every time I call I’m treated like a chore when all I’m trying to do is get my packages at the right time. I moved to new construction and even had to go up to the post office (literally less than a mile away from my house) to show them the map and ask that the carriers be told that there ARE houses here and to stop falsely scanning packages are delivered but no one can grasp such a simple concept. I am so disappointed bc this is my first home and I thought I’d never have to deal with annoying apartment complexes losing my packages and I’m so sad to see my own local post office has these issues, and above all, makes the people in the neighborhood feel so unwelcome to even call or ask about our mail.

  • Emily & Josh Newby

Every time I call get placed on hold- no one ever picks the line back up. One time I just let it sit to see how long it was on hold for. Went 3 1/2 hours before my phone died. Our delivery lady is awesome- but when shes out of town their drivers scan mail as delivered and then just dump it somewhere. One time we didn't get mail for 3 weeks- called daily asking where it was to be repeatedly told our mail was being delivered so we must not have any. Then one day get a notice in the mailbox to come pick up mail at the post office- took the man over 45 minutes to answer the bell and when he did he handed me two boxes full of mail and reprimanded me with a "you need to check your mailbox more often". Have had over 8 packages be "delivered" that have not made it to me and they keep treating me like a liar.

  • CECE TN

This has got to be one of the worse locations in Houston. They are always under staffed in the front. However you can hear them talking loud, laughing, joking in the back. I could literally hear them playing music loud from the back over by the p o boxes. The last time I was there. There were two registers in the front open. A guy on one and a girl on the other one. As the line progressed to get longer the girl answered her cell phone right there in front of the person she was half way waiting on. Then when she was done with that customers. She put her sign up and walked off still on her cell phone. With a long line in the lobby. They are awful. By the way the song they were playing in the back was, by Bone called Homegurl (He gotta), and you could hear the lyrics loud and clear. So professional!!!!!

  • Elora Arana

Have generally always had a good experience at this location (line and wait not too long, packages getting where they need to go on time and without damage), but today’s experience was great. Place was also pretty clean and tidy compared to other postal offices I’ve been in lately. Gina had the line running efficiently and quickly, was very nice and was good about getting people routed to the proper areas so they didn’t have to wait in line too long unnecessarily. I hope she’s working every time I have to come in and mail something! Only thing is that none of the pens they had at the island to write with had any ink which was a little annoying, but I found one at the counter that I was able to use without holding up the line.

The worst post office in the Heights and Garden Oaks area! There are a lot of young folks that work there that don't care about giving a good experience. Which means the middle aged folks there are probably teaching that bad behavior. Mail doesn't always make it into your PO Box, they loose certified letters but put a notice in your box that your have a certified letter. I had a card I was expecting that said delivered but I never got the card and the folks there claim they don't know what I am talking about. It is just horrible. I will be closing my box there. At this point when I have to mail something and need help at the counter I won't even go here, I drive to the next closest one to me just to avoid these people here.

I understand that things may be a couple days late bc of the pandemic But THIS post office has to be the worst one I’ve ever been to. Customer service could be a lot better. When it’s busy most of the workers tend to have an attitude. They aren’t helpful. A month ago I had mail just sitting in the back and not in my box. One of the guys had to track my package and go find it in the bk. Same thing happened today except no one actually took the time to find my package.(This package was suppose to arrive here Monday and it has the same location on the tracking package as it did the last time )Rang the bell 3 times and customer service rep called for someone, do you think anyone came to the window.

  • Brian Foster

I hate to say it, but my experience echoes the majority of reviewers. They lost an expensive custom built item that took 3 months to arrive. It was a registered parcel so I know it made it from Thailand, through Thai and US customs, through distribution centers, and was received by this post office. Then it was lost. I've called them many times, and visited the store twice. I have been promised a call back 3 times on 3 different days and no one has called me back yet. I waited by the window an hour before I was told again that someone will call me back. I've wasted quite a bit of time and energy trying to figure out what happened to my parcel and no one has helped me yet.

  • Clyde Tchorniy

People that work inside the office are great at least my experience been only positive, however people that deliver from this office probably couldn't care less.. This happened several times now - Package marked delivered on Sat (dropped off at the porch) but its not so call hold 30-40 mins make a claim and wait and worry about your package. Come home on Monday they slid a note in to your door and took the package with them - when now they can leave the packages at leasing office! Where is logic in these actions ? So now I have to wait another day and drive to their office to pick it up myself and waste more time and not a fact its gonna be there! Damn I hate this shi***

  • Jackson Felder

They don’t close your mail box when it pours down rain every day, so your mail gets wet. I had to put a sign on under the lid to tell them to close it. Still gets left open. I just moved and have had my mail forwarded. Because I don’t trust them not to keep delivering, I taped a sign over the mail slot that says my mail has been forwarded and then idiot proofed it by wrapping plastic wrap over the slot so it’s not possible to get mail in there. Now my neighbors are emailing me saying they are still trying to jam mail into my box, so they must have ripped off the plastic wrap and my sign in order to do so. I can’t even understand why someone would do that. But they did.

  • Chris White

I haven't been to a perfect USPS yet... That being said, this one is not that bad. Now, since the new renovations of the building, it is one of the better ones. -Expect to spend up to 10-20 minutes in line (from my experience waits are usually the fault of people in front of me that don't have a clue... not the staff, the staff knows what they are doing here). -Expect typical reception from people working at a post office. -Expect to get the help you need once you do get to talk to someone. I don't go in to a post office expecting a 5-star customer service experience, and I have yet to be disappointed at this location.

  • John Lee

customer service needs major improvement.. I came to pick up the mailbox key yesterday, but the key was for the wrong box. I had to return the key and they had promised to replace the lock on my mailbox yesterday, but they never showed up. I tried to call today, but it's very difficult to speak to anyone via phone and when one of the staff answered the phone, she was not very helpful and didn't know what to do, so I asked to talk to someone who can help me with this issue and she became irritated and just hung up on me. needs major audit for quality assurance in this place.

  • Shamicka Thomas

Horrible service after 5pm... time and time again I have had someone else's mail in my PO Box important stuff checks things that needs to be looked at immediately. Or I know that they were waiting on I have tried time and time again to ring the bell to get someone to get the mail but no one ever comes to the door. They have lost my mail time and time again credit cards debit cards that were never received. The people from 8 to 5 or awesome are very helpful but anytime after that you can get no service when it's practically their fault you're receiving someone else's mail

  • Paula RomaRedon

Went there yesterday because I got a notice saying that I had a package available for pickup (I don't even know why it was not delivered in the first place). Apparently my package is not in the office (which is where it says it is in the tracking). The lady told me that it was out for deliver and it should be in my mailbox soon. OF COURSE THATS NOT TRUE, every time the package is moved I receive a notification and my notification said: AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP AT THIS POST OFFICE. Now my package is lost and nobody in the office cares.... She was rude and careless...

  • Quibly Zuibly

I waited in line and asked for envelopes and showed a postcard that I want to place in an envelope. The clerk told me envelopes are "over there" - and I said there are not enough (I needed 15). So the clerk told me "how many are there?" and I said "maybe 10 at best" hoping they would bring more. Instead they told me "well can't you use some other envelopes?". Those were 5x more expensive and they wouldn't fit my post cards anyway. It was literally easier and faster to go to nearby Walgreens and get the envelopes there and come back to get stamps and send mails.

  • Leif Nielsen

7 days late and still no sight of my package. Amazon states it is "In Transit". UPS delivered my package to this location. USPS was supposed to deliver it to my address. UPS tracking states the package was dropped off here, however, USPS tracking states that it was not. Now I have to get a refund from Amazon because nobody knows where it is. I suspect someone at this location stole it or lost it, and just never listed it as "received". This post office freaking sucks and needs to be shut down. Use UPS to deliver your packages all the way to your address.

  • Casey Cellitti

Lazy..... Put on hold for 40 minutes and since the 5:00pm closing hour came, i was disconnected. Nobody is ever there to help. Our carrier is so lazy. She does not deliver items to the door that need signatures. Even though we are here, we get a post card that says she was unable to reach us. Now, because of her lazy behavior, we have to drive to the post office to get a registered piece of mail!!! Frustrating. The bad thing about writing the review is nobody at this post office will read this review to make improvements.

  • Lisa Marie

Had the rudest girl at the counter attitude she was disrespectful the people inside at the counter move at the slowest pace the girl was even disrespectful in front of other people that appear to be in some type of management and they didn't even say anything to her they just accepted her attitude I am so glad I do not live in this area and would have to frequent that post office often I am grateful that that was a once-in-a-lifetime experience I just caught myself in the area and needed to drop off a package never again

  • Full Moon

I have had to redeliver SIX! packages a block over in the last two months. Same street address, different street. I get a lot of packages so I guess the apathetic workers think I get them all in the area. Then today they say a book was delivered to me. It was not. PO closed. Website complaint form shows errors. 800 number - did they audition the droning voiced person for that line for maximum annoyance. I guess I will email Jeff Bezos at Amazon, he is the only one who can seem to get a postal employee to do their job.

  • Cristina Salah

This office is horrible. I paid $30 for two day shipping and I was required to buy a cooler box to ship my perishables. Even still, it is Sat and my item was scheduled to arrive yesterday. Supposedly tracking shows it’s still in Houston and no one answers the phone. It will sit there all weekend now and my perishable items are all ruined and I spent over $100 for nothing!! They are so unreliable. What happened to the mail services from back in the day. Sad. Save your money and time and stress and use UPS!!!

  • Amanda McKinney

I ship a ton of stuff through this location. Everybody has been pleasant and helpful, stuff gets scanned in quickly and my stuff gets delivered on time. Not much else you can ask for. Although one time I dropped off a box of first class and left a label off a package by mistake... They put a note on it and sent it back to me which was awesome and unexpected. Totally didn't have to do that and no one would know if they just chunked it but they went the extra mile instead. I thought that was pretty awesome.

  • heather baker

Very impatient, rude, and down right lazy employees I moved away for a year and was shocked at the lack of care. The office is mismanaged, the employees look lost or overwhelmed, unorganized, all of the above. My 18 year old daughter tried to mail a package a week prior and she left in tears they were so rude and wouldn't help her. Shame to see my local post office of 26 years go downhill like this! Our property taxes are so high in this area, we should have a decent post office with polite employees. . .

  • Phil J

For the 3rd time in six months, I have gotten an email that says a package was delivered to my box (a locking parcel box), but it was not. Of the two previous times, once it showed up 2-3 days later and the other one never showed up and I couldn't do a damned thing about it. I hope this latest one shows up sometime soon. In that same time frame I've had fewer than 10 packages delivered by USPS. 30%+ failure rate is absurd. The only thing I can do is to plead with shippers to not use USPS to ship to me.

  • Jeanna Lopez

Honestly, it’s just ridiculous. The person who delivers the mail puts them in the wrong mailbox, not to mention wearing headphones so if you talk to her…you can’t. They messes up your packages, or doesn’t deliver them at all and they get lost in the air. They act straight up dumb if you talk to them. No one is to help you in the office. You would think they read these reviews and fix business but obviously do not. I wish I could put a zero star and request for new staff and management. It’s a MESS.

  • Tom Haverford

They have changed package pickup hours, but they have not changed the times on the package slips. Moreover, these overpaid wastes of space couldn't bother to open up at their new time. I have nothing but distaste for this post office. I hope they are robbed of their jobs in favor of a better, private service. USPS is the worst service in the world, and this is literally the worst location for the worst service in the world. In other words, it's hell on earth. Be ultra courteous and good luck!

  • Marcelo Lazzaro

i ordered covid test online, mailperson posted as delivered, note he/she needs the actual package in hand and barcode to do so. Instead of placing in mailbox (with locks) took for him/herself. Of course, I called the office and after 30 minutes trying the person that took the call hanged up on me, didnt want to deal with the complain. Thats easy to be a public employee, no accountability, no hard work, cant do or not do and still the paycheck will come no matter what. What a shame

  • JeToi Jones

THIS POST OFFICE IS HORRIBLE! I have had 3 delivery issues with work related packages that have costed my big amounts of money in the end. The will say it’s delivered in my mail box and it isn’t. I called and she kept saying it was delivered after telling her it wasn’t, she said she would ask the driver who dropped it off and the said they were off that day ? So I’m just so lost how was it delivered under his number? This is unbelievable I am extremely unsatisfied & upset

  • Carson Sprock (csprock)

This post office is the worst because of the laziness, stupidity and incompetence of its employees. They have lost multiple packages and refused to take any responsibility for it. The employees are rude and sassy and refuse to help you. For example, they claimed that my package was delivered (it wasn't) and when I repeatedly told them I never received it, the employee literally said "well I ain't there so it ain't my problem". This is your tax dollars at work. Shameful.

  • Matthew Johnson

Do not use this service. They have lost an important immigration document sent via recorded mail. The follow up was terrible and going in person was worse. I was told I would get called back and the calls never came despite my insistence. There is little to no coordination between the office and the carrier. For a logistics organization it shouldn't be allowed to handle such sensitive documents. How its possible to lose or misplace recorded mail is beyond me.

  • K Platt

At least two items of mail lost this month alone, in addition to the countless other times I haven't received my mail since 2020. Then there was the time they left my delivered package on top of my apartment complex's mailbox for anyone to take while I was out of town. Oh, and let's not forget the many many times they've delivered the wrong mail to me. Why is USPS even around anymore? Why am I bothering with this review when they just don't care anymore?

  • Catherine Stevenson

I've had terrible experiences at this post office. There are never enough employees to help customers and the lines and wait time are ridiculous. I dropped off a package and three days later it still has not been scanned into the system. They are careless and rude and the furthest thing from helpful. I am incredibly frustrated with the time and effort I've put into trying to track down a package they've lost and haven't shipped. Is 0 stars an option?

  • Theresa Flores

This is the worst post office I have ever had to deal with!!! The post office workers dress unprofessional and act unprofessional as well! They come dressed like crap to our office. And that is when they feel like coming! I have had mail on my desk waiting to go out for a week! And when I call they lady answers the phone and says she will call back in 30 minutes but NEVER calls back!!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING DO NOT GO TO THIS POST OFFICE!!

  • G Cubas

Theres no way to give 0 starts so 1 star is giving too much. I had a delivery scheduled for Friday and it was scheduled to be delivered latest 8pm. This delivery failed. Then the delivery was out on saturday for times(2-5pm) and the individual making the delivery did not ring the bell(or try to contact the owner for a signature) and just left a note. There were 2 individuals present inside the house. Please revise your services and employees.

  • Anuj Patel

Yup. Still obnoxiously rude. Someone must be peeing in this office's cornflakes every morning. It's no wonder I have so much missing mail. I called this location to ask if they were, by chance, holding any mail for me, and the official instantly got defensive, and ultimately refused to check unless I could give her a tracking number. I can't believe that's true, as I've ended up having mail held at other post offices before.

  • K CaMeNiScH (Userfriendly)

Great customer service from Jasmine! I called about a package that was marked delivered, but the package was not at my house. I called the post office and spoke to Jasmine who was nice enough to track the package and call the driver to ensure the package was delivered at the correct address. The postman accidentally dropped it off at the neighbors house and went back to get it and drop it off at my house. Thank you Jasmine.

  • J - C

It could be worse, since Harvey, I have mail missing and I have checks missing. It's a l situation we have to all put up with living in the big city. Everyones situation is different, or circumstances are different. All I know, is what I know, and what I do know is we have to give them a chance, chances and or repeated chances. I even went into the lobby and provided a written request for a supervisor to call....worthless!

  • Christopher Guthrie

I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are about, and I’m sure experiences vary, but mine was excellent. I bought a home and the owner had “lost” the mailbox key. Showed up here, was seen within 5 minutes, really courteous gentlemen took my information and money (cost me $35 to get it re-keyed) and said someone would be out without a week to change the lock for me. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back here again if required.

  • Jessica Turney

Would put 0 stars if I could. They have very conveniently lost ONLY my jewelry, perfume and MEDICATION. We keep calling they throw us on hold for 35 min then hang up. My tracking says my packages are IN the mailbox on xx date and are obviously not there. If it were up to me I wouldn't ever choose to use USPS but some websites still use them. This is why the postal service is failing. #privatize the USPS for the love of god

  • Kimberli Robinson

I am amazed everytime I read these negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience at this post office. Perhaps, it's the people writing the reviews, they expect way more than they give. Do they say, hello, how is your day before receiving services? The Post Office is a very busy place and yes, patience is required at times, but, treating the Postal workers pleasantly and politely sure goes a long way with all of them.

  • Nelson Velazquez

I have a very bad experience with them. USPS lost a package I sent few months ago. I went there several times asking for help on tracking my package but it was a wasting of time. I am still uncomfortable sending anything with them. I know they are very busy, but when so many customers had time to write bad reviews is because something is not really right and clear. My suggestion is use another company when possible.

  • CHRISTA EHRLER

WORST POST OFFICE. I second the reviewer below, the government needs to shut this place down. Expecting a package and USPS wanted a signature, so I requested a redelivery. That was 7 days ago, when I track the package the last known action was the redelivery. I call the post office and wait forever to talk to someone, yesterday I talked to someone and he went to look for it, then admitted, "who knows?" SERIOUSLY???

  • Mary Edgerton

Terrible. I have had packages with live contents that were reported to be delivered and did not get to me for three more days. I have not received any mail for a week now and I am worried. I have called them and am sitting here on hold. I have been to the post office and rang the bell and no one even called out to let me know they heard the bell until I had rung it three or four times. Can I give it zero stars!

  • Brad K Smith

This place is an absolute joke. I don't believe I have ever left a review this bad. I am going on 1 hour on my Saturday waiting for someone to find my fiancé's package. There are a dozen people sitting outside a door waiting for someone to come out and explain things. Whatever you can possibly do to avoid this experience I suggest you do so. The DMV believes this place needs to improve their customer service.

  • Rudy Gonzalez

If you have the misfortune of dealing with the 19th St. USPS in person then more than likely your package has been lost and you're trying to find it. They don't care and they wont be of much help with finding it. This branch is the epitome of laziness. Have you ever called their location an hour before closing? Don't bother, they are already preparing to go home and would rather not answer your call.

  • Brian Nietfeld (Polygons)

Very difficult to pick up packages from this location. The package door closes at 1pm on Saturday. You can hear people in the back, but they will not answer. Also, quite a lot of mail from this office gets misdelivered. Our neighbors are constantly having to drop mail off to eachother. UDPATE Package door hours don't actually matter... they still won't answer even during business hours. Good luck!

  • Sally Heckelman

Why is this the post office for 77007 at all? It is so far away and the hours are very restricted. If you have a job, there are no times when you can pick up a package without having to take time off. There has to be a closer, more convenient location for all the businesses and families in this zip code, especially with residences growing by the 1000s with al the new apartment buildings.

  • Jimmy Roth

Nice employees, but no one has a clue on how to do their job. I put a hold on our mail for our 2 week vacation and when I returned home to pick it up, they couldn't find any of it. I spent a solid week trying to find/ retrieve my mail to no avail - they told me it was "lost." I'd rather have a root canal than deal with this post office again, and I hate going to the dentist.

  • Max Dunlap

I challenge these workers to be worse at their job. Packaged marked Delivered are not delivered. Constantly getting wrong packages or packages lost all together. I was missing a handful of packages over weeks. After complaining and making numerous calls, they all arrive at once. They must just be marked delivered and sitting on a shelf. Use UPS or FedEX or anything else

  • CJ Colvin

This place should be shuttered. The employees probably couldn't land jobs flipping burgers so they ended up here. I can't believe my tax dollars are being used to pay these lazy slouches. They should be paying us for providing a roof over their heads for the few hours a day they are actually there to "work". One star is way more stars than these clowns deserve.

  • Sunshine Pinkerton

I wish I could give 0 stars. I called because 4 packages weren’t delivered. My eBay says the packages were delivered in my mailbox. I called this usps location (since it’s closest to me), they gave me a phone number that was disconnected. I called back and said it was disconnected and they hung up on me. I’m never buying things online again. USPS is garbage.

  • Frank Hicks

Worst USPS location I’ve had the misfortune of interacting with. They didn’t deliver the package the first time, with an excuse that didn’t make any sense. I put in a redelivery order at least three times and still haven’t received the package. Now I they want me to pickup the package because they were either too clueless or lazy to actually delivery it.

  • Tran Dang

I called this USPS right at 9am when they opened and I was placed on hold. I hung up and called back because I thought they'd forgotten about me. I was on hold again for over 30 minutes... I called back a third time and they had no reason i was on hold for so long... Seriously. Maybe some basic training will improve the customer service of this location.

  • John D

I dropped off a package 6 days ago, and it has still not left the facility. I took it inside and got a receipt. Now everytime I call, I can not get ANYONE on the phone. I have called the 800 number and they give me a case # and transfer it to the wrong location, and I NEVER get a call back from the correct place. It is damn frustrating

  • Marcus Hartwell

Wow! I feel like my packages go to a black hole for several days when they come to my local USPS. "Priority Mail - 2nd Day is not guaranteed" is the most common line I hear from these folks. I think they should get a new manager who can turn this post office around. Also my mail and packages comes at 9pm at night...that's unheard of.

  • Laura Contasti

claimed to deliver my package to my porch. did not. no one answers the phone, and i cannot place a claim online because of some website issue. where is my package? im almost positive it was wrongfully delivered to the apartment across the street but since no one can help me locate it i guess i will never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ …

  • Melissa Pompa

Wish it could be a ZERO STAR! WORST POST OFFICE EVER! They never delivered the package that supposedly was “delivered” Everytime i call I get “can I put you on hold” and I wait for 58 minutes. I call again and get “wait one sec” And wait for another hour. I hang up and call again and get a “wait a moment” OMG UNBELIEVABLE

  • Jessica McNeir

Avoided coming to this location based on the reviews until I had a letter waiting for me here that I had to pick up. I came at 9:50am on a Monday morning. There were two attendants stationed. Line was short, moved fast. I was treated nicely and they found my letter promptly. Maybe not such a bad place after all.

  • Estelle Gaither

0 star if I could! They lost a package, I went to their offices and they were supposed to call me back to give me a letter saying they lost my parcel so that the seller will be able to refund me. I had no phone call. The seller closed the case = no refund. Now I have to open a dispute with USPS. NICE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wendy A.

I guess USPS workers forget the customers paying to ship are the only reason they're still employed. I don't understand why it's so difficult for them to treat us with respect. The government would do a great service to everyone by just closing the USPS offices and putting their employees out of their misery.

  • Jim

Lost second package in 4 days. Both times they said it was dropped at front door. Funny the I was home at said time of delivery. 2506 west 18 th What's going on. When are they going to do there job. All should be fired. Give the jobs to the homeless. They would do a better job. Height post office sucks.

  • Brandon S

My mail comes every other week instead of daily like a normal post office and the package I’m currently try to deal with was marked driveway inaccessible twice in same day but there isn’t even a post office vehicle that is on my ring device... I have a normal driveway - how can it not be accessed??

  • Charles Carter

This postal service delivers mail to the wrong address very frequently. I have missing mail every single week and every single week I get mail that should have been delivered to a different address. It's completely unacceptable and sad that there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it.

  • Sue

My personal experience was awesome. I came to return a package to seller, the representative I got was soft spoken, polite, and patient as I looked through the stamps and bought two books. Maybe I was lucky but my husband said he also had a good experience and I will definitely be coming back.

  • Shawn H

Black male postal worker rude. I asked for some tape to do return shipping label that is not printed on the sticker paper. They only offer tape to priority customers. How is that customer service? That's like ordering food to go and they don't give you a sack to put it in. Terrible.

  • Lily Rojas

Customer service is TERRIBLE!! REALLY!!! I have already TWO HOURS on hold. This lady was so rude and she just don't want to look what happen with a certified mail which should be delivered since the 24th, today is 30th. Instead of apologize, she decided to leave me on the line.

  • Lauren Newman

Been waiting for them to set up our mail for three weeks. They keep making promises they don’t keep. When we ask for their names they refuse to tell us. They NEVER pick up the phones. This place has awful customer service and their employees are extremely rude and inconsiderate. :(

  • Blake Ashford

Worst mail carrier service in the greater Houston area. Doesn’t deliver packages properly. Throws packages over the gate to a row of houses. Sends mail back to sender because the house is “vacant” when I’ve made it my permanent address for a year. Can’t get a hold of the office.

  • Zoe Rivera

Literally the worst. Please don’t use usps. I was placed on hold for 30 minutes twice, and hung up on twice. I was told one thing on the phone and when I got to the post office I was told another. Use any other postal service but this one. It is rated 1.8 stars for a reason.

  • patti marie

Haven’t received mail for a few days plus my package was out for delivery twice but said, Delivery Attempted-No access to delivery location! I live in a house with no obstruction! This is ridiculous! Oh and it seems we don’t get mail on Saturdays and Mondays anymore??

  • Paul Shireman

We haven't received any mail for at least 5 days. They are redoing the street and it only has one lane but that isn't an excuse to not deliver the mail. I have lived all over the country having been in the Air Force and this is the poorest service I have ever seen.

  • B P

The people working there were pretty friendly while being quick and efficient. I mean, how outgoing can you expect them to be when they have to ask the same exact questions to people over and over again? The line moved fast and the store itself has a nice interior.

  • Kristina Vu

USPS has misdelivered packages in my neighborhood multiple times. This time, I got a call from this post office about one of the packages after I submitted a service request. I tried calling back around 10 times during regular business hours, and no one answered.

  • Rod Keels

I have driven by this post office on West 19th Street dozens of times over the years and never knew it was there. I discovered it on Google Maps when I was in the area and needed to mail a letter. It's a nice facility. The parking lot is a little small. 48 days

  • Andre Powell

This location consistently marks packages "delivered" without delivering them, and they deliver the wrong packages. If you try to talk to them, they place you on hold indefinitely. Completely worthless. I wish there were at least some competent employees there.

  • Kristine Fayard

Stood there for a good long while, ringing the bell and being patient for someone to come assist me. No one ever did, but apparently there were a bunch of people in the back because they were having a good ole time. Don't waste your time. Go to another store.

  • Mindy Whitaker

Worst post office I've ever had to deal with. 99.999% of the time my packages that are transferred to this post office get stuck for an extra week or lost. When you call, no one answers and when they do, they are rude. Can this place be shut down please?

  • Emily Rose

The employees were so nice, the line was enormous because of the holidays and there was someone who insisted on holding up the line but the workers handled it really well. Truly very excellent service even in holiday rush and problematic customers.

  • Char Frost

I love this post office simply because of Veronica. She goes above and beyond for our law firm and gathers business reply mail for me every week to make sure we get time sensitive documents. She is the nicest post office employee I have ever met.
