Do Not Hire From VIP Cars – No Aftercare / Consumer Support Rented a car through VIP Cars – and wanted something specific. Luxury SUV, Automatic. So hired a BMW X5 through VIP Cars from a company that stated it was “On Airport”. When we arrived at our destination, we were sent a video to follow directions to the car rental office, which was 15 minutes’ walk off site, and down roads with no pavement. With suitcases and a baby in pram, you can imagine not great, and clearly VIP Cars does not validation of the data they hold on their car rental vendors. When we arrived, the office was a worn down cabin at the side of the road, and the car was a 2010 BMW X5 (13 years old) that was in such bad condition with dents, scratches, and illegally worn out tires. We told the company this was not acceptable and we would not take our baby in a car that was clearly unsafe, and we needed something more modern and in reasonable condition considering we had paid a premium. The only car they had to offer was a 2022 MG Manual. This is not in the same class (BMW Vs MG) and was manual so would not work for us. We were told that to cancel we would have to contact VIP Cars as they do not control the deposit and it was nothing to do with them. We contacted VIP Cars, who said they would speak to the car rental company. After they spoke with them, VIP Cars claimed that the rental company had offered a another option, and that if we had not taken it, that was our issue and that they would not return the refund. I challenged this for the next few days back and forth, and they continued to claim they were working on it with the rental company and then would come back with another excuse. They even tried to claim the original car was 2015, when I had taken photo and video evidence, and then they corrected their story again. They also claimed they had an “Agent” look in to the situation and evaluate the car and that it was in good condition.. again I had the photos and video evidence to refute this. Each excuse they made, we had evidence to challenge it and support their false claims. After days of back and forward and no help, they offered to return only the insurance. There is no help for the consumer from this company, and all they care about is keeping their deposit and making excuses even when confronted with all the evidence. My recommendation is to stay well clear of this company, as any issues that arise they will not support you. In the end, I went to my Credit Card company and they returned the money based on all the evidence I provided. Don’t use this company if you want any form of customer service.

Very displeased with their Premium Insurance. Excellent customer support. 4 items in review, 1 bad 3 good: 1. Bad: We were sold premium insurance during the rental process with VIPCars, but it was not the final rental company's insurance, and the terms were less than favourable. We later realized that if any problems would happen, we would have to pay for it ourselves initially and then collect all paperwork (invoices, maybe a police report?), and send those to VIPCars for them to process and hopefully return the money. But we all know how these processes work, there would be no telling how long the money would take to return, or even if some would not be returned because we would be missing some detail like a police report or whatever. Maybe if there was a simple pdf "premium insurance - how to" outlining how to act in case of accident, we could have felt comfortable about it. 1.b. We ended up getting the rental company's premium insurance on top... double insured. :( That one was a proper premium insurance: we just had to leave the normal deposit as in any rental, the insurance covers all problems, and we receive the deposit at end of rental. Some smiles, and "hope to see you again". Simple, effective. Perfect. This is what the VipCars premium insurance should be like. 2. Quite good: Support staff was helpful, and clear. Excellent service. But I only understood later the terms of the Premium Insurance. I feel that they should have briefly mentioned the activation process, as it is different from the expected. In this, I feel that they just made it simple quick and very pleasant, in order to get their money - but did not bother to respect me as a customer. 3. Good: It felt that their price-aggregation worked quite well. 4. Excellent: Service by the final rental company was very good. Kudos to AlquiCoche! Would use them again.

Can't completely blame the VIP Cars but customers loose trust if support is not provided. To go into detail I was booking rental car through VIP cars in New Zealand. They have offered booking with YES car rentals. I have been provided with all booking details including 24 x 7 support during my booking. During my trip car broke down in middle of jungle. I have called the assistance number for help. No one picks up call. Called the YES rental company and they ask me to call another number. I call them and the guys who receives my call after listening to my situation just simply says you need to find someone by yourself to sort it out. I call VIP cars and they say its Yes Rentals who has to help and insist there is no road side assistance. I explained them rental car company gives contact for assistance even though i get charged. But any rental company provides a assistance contact number for car breakdowns. YES rentals did provide one claiming 24 x 7 and no one responses on the number. VIP Cars also try to call the number and they too don't get response. So i was stuck no where in middle of a jungle with no help from both VIP cars and YES rentals. I had tours booked and i had to miss them . VIP cars get their share of fees. Rental company gets they rental charges paid but as end customer i am left out with no help and losing gall my money for bookings. None of the companies really tried to help me out. I have previosly did multiple car hires in New Zealand south Island and can tell you all those companies are very helping and value their customers. Finally my 9 year old son comes up with this. " Say NO to YES cars".

Con artists and liers ! After an hour searching for the so called in airport location, greeted upon by a very unfriendly Sovoy employee. After paying a huge reserve amount of 3 thousand euros and paying for the rental of the car, they told me they do not have the reserved car available (a large crossover Hyundai Tucson). An upgrade was not possible as they only had a small VW troc, which would not fit all of our luggage. After a long discussion they told me I could choose another car at there depot site were I would also pickup the child seats I payed extra for. Half hour drive to there depot !! Tired and hungry kids in the back of the car en route to a depot in the opposite direction of our vacation destination with an unfriendly Sovoy employee, not what I pictured when booking through VIP cars. At the depot they had just one working car that was even smaller, the other cars were being serviced and thus not available. Backed in a corner feeling conned I accepted the troc as just wanted to get out of there. Just waiting for the child seats, after another half hour wait they told me no child seats were available. I was furious!!! That moment I called VIP cars customer service. Long story short, customer service of VIP couldn’t help me, but they would start a refund proces which they would confirm via email, I never had that email. So there you have it… very very very bad experience!

Awful experience! Never ever again booking from VIPcars. Lack of communication about the meeting point for the pick up. Ended up waiting 45mins plus for one of the drivers to arrive. Your rental office in Thessaloniki,Greece it is hidden and gives the feeling of a fraud. The staff at the rental office kept asking me about cash payment. They even said "even the bare minimum of cash you got on you will do". Which it felt like they wanted to scam me. The PDQ machine declined my card payment three times and the reason is that my bank did not trust the location of payment and detected a chance of a fraud. I used my card straight away after I left and was working perfectly fine. They even asked me if I want them to drive me to another rental company. Which I declined on the offer and just asked them to drive me where they picked me up from first.

I was given good support and assurance from Harvey after booking a car with VIP Cars that we would receive excellent out of hours service as our flight would arrive at 22:00pm. Feeling very confident that all will be well when we reach Italy. They not very reliable. Whenever ever I spoke to a different customer service representative, I got a different story. They changed my car & said I would not have to pay an out of hours fee if I excepted the change. The next rep said I would have to pay the out of hours fee and that if my plane was late the office with close & they would not wait for me. I ended up cancelling my booking because I did not feel confident. I did not want to be stranded in Italy. Got a good company, cheaper price and no out of hours fee. They will track my flight & wait for me. That’s customer service.

We were greeted by a lovely polite gentleman at the designated meeting point. The total process of meeting him to driving away took 10mins. He explained everything clearly and even recommended some places to visit. I was very impressed he encouraged me to take a walk round video of the car and make sure I was happy with it, I was very happy as we booked an Aygo ( it was the cheapest and there were only 2 of us ) but received a free upgrade. We had to pay the deposit for the car but before we did he explained about the extra insurance we could take out and what it covered and this would mean we didn't need to leave a deposit. He didn't pressure me at all into taking it, I did as it was a bargain ( 7 Euro a day ) I would definitely recommend VIPCars , Easy to book and modify if needed and a pleasure to deal with.

ENGLİSCH Even though we were there at the exact meeting time at Antalya Airport, with two small children, in 45°C hot weather, we had to wait for them for 90 minutes. The vehicle was not the vehicle it was supposed to be. When we received the vehicle, there was 5 km Reserve in the fuel tank. Although it is written on the website that the credit card deposit will be refunded within 20 or 25 days, my deposit has still not been refunded despite my repeated calls for 45 days. Finally, I cannot reach the intermediary company Vip car in any way. They don't take any responsibility anyway. and they don't help. Do not pay the deposit with your credit card as it will not be refunded later. I have gained experience. I definitely can't recommend it to anyone. The best solution is to Choosing another Car rental Company .

Don't go third party with companies like VIPcars. Just go direct with the car rental companies. They require you to pay upfront (no pending charges) so when there is a problem, (in my case, was unable to pickup the car) they refuse to refund the money even though they weren't charged a dime from the car rental companies. I'm sure I agreed to waive my right to a refund in the terms that nobody reads but it's still a slimy practice on their end. Just avoid them, it's just another stress factor to add to your life and usually aren't any cheaper; they're just promoted by sites like kayak. UPDATE: Just wanted to point out the generic canned response they provide to negative online reviews provided by anyone who has already wasted their time with their customer service team as if we wish to restart the process.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Booked a hire car and although the website states no hidden fees, I arrived to collect the car and the miserable woman at Malaga airport at the firefly desk was asking me to pay over €200 on top of the original quote I had booked with. They send your email confirmation WITHOUT the amount you agreed to , so when you go to show anyone this they look at you like you’re stupid. I didn’t take the vehicle due to the ridiculous costs and raised a dispute with my bank. They are now saying I cancelled the car after I collected it even though I didn’t take the car. Only book if you’re happy being scammed out of hundreds of pounds of hidden fees and want to receive the worst possible service.

Do not use vipcars, it's a third party company, especially don't get insurance through them, waste of money, read the blue print. Got the car in krakow poland with vipcars, got the full protection insurance, the actual company was carnet (another scam, will charge you for some damages that you didn't do). So returned the car in same condition on agreed date, a month later they charged my card 700 euro for some damages without even letting me know, no pictures, no calls, just an email post factum with an invoice. Now, I opened a claim with vipcars, since I got the insurance with them, got an answer, no claims after 28 days of return date. Stay away, use normal rental companies, not these scammers

Picked up the car at Enterprise at Bilbao train station. Easy to find and no problems entering/exiting the place. A very good pick up and very quick. Everything explained and we were on our way and were not pestered or threatened with the extras other companies tend to try and frighten you with. I had my own insurance policy when they asked so no problems. Highly recommend Enterprise as I have hired elsewhere with them. I also once had a small bump and I was really impressed with how it was all handled and I was easily able to claim on my own insurance. Thank you.

As always, you can tell how good a service is when things go wrong and how it is dealt with. Unfortunately, in the case of Seven Auto and VIP Cars, have both been terrible to deal with. Long story short - Seven Auto were dishonest and made me pay over $500 claiming that the insurance from their partner (from VIP Cars) was not sufficient, even though the documentation clearly stated it was. VIP Cars then offered a pathetic $100 refund which clearly demonstrates their disregard for customers. I shall be looking for legal advice on the matter now.

They had the lowest price for a rental car from the airport in Baltimore, Maryland USA as a third-party vendor - the car was actually from another agency. When we arrived at the airport to pick up our reserved car, the agency informed us that they had zero cars available and we would have to wait at least several hours. We rented from another company, and VIPCars cancelled our reservation with a full refund (thanks Nathan!). We didn't get the car we reserved, but they were easy to contact and provided good customer service.

I had excellent customer service with VIPCars even though the car rental company did not come through. I booked an online reservation with VIPCars, and everything was great. I flew into Philly and went to my car rental company listed in my contract. Long story short, the car rental company did not have any cars available when I arrived. The wait time for a car was about 3 hours! I called customer service at VIPCars, and they handled my situation. The cancelled my reservation and gave me a full refund several days later.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I booked a car through VIP when travelling to India. When arriving at Cochin airport, no one was there to meet us. We had a 4 hour drive to our hotel and was stuck at the airport and ended up getting a taxi after waiting around for 3 hours having been told the car was coming. It never arrived. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. I emailed VIP and they haven't even bothered responding. Not often I'm shocked by a service, so please be careful if booking with them. Choose a reputable company.

Have used vip cars for a big trip to zakopane Poland we booked a minibus and a car at krakow airport vip booked us CARNET hire cars vip cars have been faultless very good customer service Carnet hire cars we did take out their own full insurance as was massive snow storms but the check in was quick and efficient the girls on check in desk walked us to our vehicles which were clean and modern and drop off also no problems at all Good service from vip cars and carnet hire would definitely use these again

I had to modify my reservation due to a change in a flight arrival. I called the customer support number and got a very nice gentleman named Dave Wilson. Dave was very helpful in getting my reservation modified and also was very pleasant to talk to, something you dont get much of these days. It was a very pleasurable experience and I must say that Dave is a great asset to VIP Cars, he should be commended. I will use VIP Cars again in the future due to the experience I had with Dave on the phone today

Do not rent cars from this company. The prices are a scam, because at the counter when you pick up the car, they force you to buy insurance, which costs 4 times the rental price and in the end becomes more expensive. Then you complain and they say it's not their fault. So you are with your family on vacation in a country that doesn't speak your language and with a trip scheduled you are forced to pay because you won't be able to find a car at that time. VIP Cars is a company that scams people.

I'm always wary about going with the cheapest car hire option, but as it was payment on collection I thought might as well, as there's nothing to loose. Also in Italy the chances are you'll get a dink or bump so I never go for a prestige motor. So booked a Fiat 500, expecting a Panda, but there was a nice new 500 waiting for us, with sun roof as well. Very happy. Also only a low deposit was taken on my credit card of £600. Can highly recommend VIPCars and would be happy to use them again.

I called VIPCars for clarification on a policy from the rental company providing our car in Barbados. Nathan was very friendly and helpful. He tried several ways to get the answer but when he wasn't able to he offered another solution. He provided the number for the rental company for me to call if I wished and additionally he wrote an email to the company to ensure that I would have the information I needed. Great customer service!

The rental process was straightforward, the person at the counter explained in detail the conditions of the contract (petrol full to full, insurance, maximum km, etc.) He told me there were a few scratches on the car, and advise me to take pictures of the car, so I did. Signed the paperwork and left. At the moment of return, the person checked the car and everything was fine. No surprises. I would recommend Firefly without a doubt.

Please be aware. A worst costumer service you can get. This company take its commissions from scam rental companies and get its way out of problem it causes. I will quote their response after a scam rental company charged my card and ask me to be patient for 2 moths “Please be informed that after multiple reminder, we have not received any response from supplier. I encountered several problems: 1- I reserved a Kia Sportage, I was given a Suzuki Breza 2- On the contract, I had to pay €585, on site I paid €622 because they apply a high exchange rate 3- To leave the airport, I had to pay 60€ for parking because the rental companies forgot to give the parking ticket. 4- they were dishonest, making me believe that they gave me the exit ticket for the parking lot to flee

They’re late for pickup about 1 hour and late for handing over the car. Due to the fact that someone else came despite returning the car in perfect condition, I did not receive the deposit, because I would have to wait about an hour for someone else to come, but I did not have time because He was late to pick up the car, my flight was in less than an hour. Great agency ☺️with an amazing customer service. What I particularly like on VIP cars is their uncomplicated way to communicate with the customer at any time. I will never forget that night at Thessaloniki airport being dumped by the rental company and vip cars saving my trip and making sure, I come home safe. Since then I never booked a rental with another agency.

Communications was very clear on what is in/excluded in my booking. I was able to easily get hold of a person on the phone to help me modify the booking. Sylvester Woods understood exactly what was required to make the modification and was also able to clearly explain the difference in cost to me as well as the impact on the rental cover bought previously.

Bad experience, I arrived at the place, there was no confirmation of the reservation. I was forced to pay additional amounts as insurance and the rental went from 100 USD to 830 USD. You arrive with your family in a foreign country, you don't speak English and if you don't pay you will be left without a car. Experience rium, I was robbed and deceived.

Excellent service. Very helpful fliendly and polite staff. The car was very clean and in very good condition. The guys chekcing the car out were very thorough and together we marked up any chips and scratches, same on return [ no new issues thankfully ]. Overall a very positive experience and I would use VIPcars again highly recommend them.

All went very well, from the reservation itself, adding full coverage with zero excess payments (in case of an insured event), to the car pickup. I will definitely order my next car here/ Please make sure to call the number on the order as soon as you leave the terminal and a shuttle will pick you to the physical location, 3 minutes drive.

Very happy with the service) the car was very clean and worked perfectly. The stuff also very friendly, nobody tried to sell some extra insurance. Transfer back to the airport was provided 5 mins after the car return. Deposit was received the next day. Highly recommended!!
