Monique was PHENOMENAL. She was bubbly, helpful, and all around great to all of us in the station while we waited for our Train. She drove us up to our train, and then helped all of us get to where we needed to be. After starting our trip on the train, I got a phone call and was unsure the number. It was MONIQUE telling me I had left my purse on the tram!! We were unable to take a train back to retrieve my purse, so she worked up a plan for us to get my purse back, and it worked!! I got my purse back that SAME day! She is amazing, and we will forever & always, remember her. She was a huge highlight of our trip, and we wouldn’t have been able to get back to MN without my purse which held my ID. So blessed she was working, and took such great care of us and my purse. I really do hope the company shows her their appreciation for all the hard, and great work she puts in. Monique, if you can see this we will never forget you. Travis was also very kind, and all around great! He worked with us as well to make sure my purse was delivered to us.

Safety at RISK! Bus 5919 from Van Nuys to Bakersfield. This is the San Joaquin bus. The driver is extremely lax, lazy, has broken several laws..and doesn't keep eyes on road or both hands on wheel. She tailgates cars ..this is scary bc her lack of paying attention and the weight of this bus already decrease her reaction and stopping time. We almost got in an accident before Newhall. Apparently, she forgot her routes. The trip started with her getting over several lanes from HOV . Over double yellow lines (they broke soon after, and she could have safely got over and not missed exit She takes her eyes off the road several times to eat sunflower seeds, often drives with one hand !! And the really bad thing is she talks and texts while operating this actually heavier than normal bus This lady is way too lax, and if we crash or if she does, it's her fault

The station is friendly inside. The steps going down to the street on Van Nuys Blvd. sometimes has encampments on them. The parking lot has pot holes and some holes that one might trip into. Do watch your step. A platform has been being built for over a year. There is construction equipment all about including loose gravel. Again watch your step. See photos. Recent update. Well there has been a long going construction. Due to Covid-19 I haven't been there to much. The last time I was there I saw that a dormitory had been built for the Homeless in part of the parking lot. This required a lot of electrical and water to be brought from the street. 8-14-2020. It is amazing to see progress through time. It would be great if there was a cover built over the walk way to protect one from the elements.

paul was so sweet and helpful! i almost never leave reviews but paul’s actions and kindness moved me so much i just had to write about how wonderful he was! he was driving the cart that transports disabled passengers and i had just realized that i left my jacket with my dad and i wouldn’t make it in time if i ran to go get it. i asked paul if he was able to transport me to the front of the station to pickup my jacket despite me not being disabled and he agreed! i made it just in time to catch my train with 2 minutes to spare! i wouldn’t have made it back in time to catch it if i had run. i just want to thank paul for being so kind and wonderful :) <3

Great station. It's actually staffed. Yay! Makes things so much better that way. Just wish there was better public transit serving the station. Like more trains. Wish there was a railroad running down Van Nuys Blvd like their used to be many years ago. The public transit serving the station now is terrible. Best thing to do now is to take a ride share service to here, or drive, or get dropped off. There is a dash bus that goes here, plus the 169 local bus and another one. The Van Nuys Flyaway is a couple miles from here on Woodley ave across from the Van Nuys airport, and a great shopping center called The Plant is right up the street.

I was so impressed with this Amtrak station! The woman at the counter was working there alone, but gave such friendly and detailed help to all of us at the station, taking time to go over our trips with each of us. Her instructions were clear and thoughtful and I was moved by the care and kindness she showed my grandmother, who has mild dementia. Travel can be stressful, but her upbeat spirit and calm guidance started our trip off smooth. The station was also very clean, and while small, was a comfortable place to wait for our train.

A very large parking lot where train passengers can leave their car at no additional cost. Inside the station, the customer service agents are extremely courteous and helpful to answer any questions you might have and help you make the right route choice for your particular trip. There have free coffee available, restrooms and a few automated ticket machines. I had a very nice experience and very much like the serviced provided and quality of friendly staff.

Although it's an actual station, the service is substandard. Doors are supposed to stay open until ten pm but the agents are totally absent. They hang out in the back room, behind a closed door, and serve you minutes later. Sometimes ten to twenty. If you paid for a ticket, someone should be accessible and cheerful. I've even seen Greyhound drivers waiting around and delaying their trips because agents are essentially chillin' in the back room.

I was feeling anxious because It’s my first time to take the train going to Temecula. I ‘m so glad Ms. Monique helped me out from my purchasing of tickets to explaining in details how to get to my destination. I highly commend Ms. Monique for being so cheerful, accommodating, and for her awesome services she extended to me. Two thumbs up to Ms. Monique.

Always convenient. eventually run into that guy who hates his job for me i met him in the cafe saturday on train 785 mark lopez sat while i waited in the cafe to purchase my items i should have just walked out with my stuff since no one was at the register and when i asked about a price received an attitude shame to deal with when you deal with customers everyday

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of service I received at the Van Nuys station, the lady at the counter was cheerful and answered all my questions. Station is clean and well-maintained, has a couple water fountains too which is a huge help for refilling bottles. My Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train was right on schedule, smooth experience overall!

Traveling during holidays can be crowded. The driver of the bus to Bakersfield was professional and organized. She managed to check in passengers, assist elderly onto the bus and load baggage while keeping on time. She accomplished all of rhis while smiling at each rider.

Great place for train spotting. Friendly station staff. Services both Metrolink and Amtrak. In addition to the trains its serviced by local commuting buses like LADOT DASH and Metro Local Lines. Parking lot available. Carl's Jr. across the street.

I've traveled to Chicago from SAN twice in the last 8 years and have never met unfriendly staff. Now my trip is only from Van Nuys to SAN at 11:28am and met an unwelcome staff! So sad!!! She must have a problem with people! I'm praying for her.

Travis made our first experience riding a train super easy. He answered all of my questions and was very informative. If you ever take a train ride from this location, Travis will definitely be your go to for any questions you might have.

  • Amy J. Delevingne

Expensive! Seriously they should have built this thing in Beverly Hills, Calabasas, and Aspen Colorado. 3 Stations that take 8 months to get you from point A to B. And we are the Country that put a man on the moon?

I have mobility issues. An Amtrak employee noticed I was having trouble walking, told me to hold on, came back with a little with a cart, and gave me a ride to the station supper, friendly service.

Today at 8:30am I arrived at the bus station to transfer to Amtrak. The clerk was friendly, professional and courteous. She was helpful to everyone in the station.

  • Jeremy Wong

Great station. As others have posted, super friendly and helpful staff. My train was late, 2 different people let me know. Very courteous and informative.

  • Jaye Sweet

The lady (sorry forgot her name) was extremely helpful and nice! After having a rough day I was glad that she helped me figure out my ticket.

  • Cristobal Rendon

The amtrack staff here is literally the best! The metro link ticket dispensers don't work half the time, otherwise five stars.

  • John Quinn

Travis at the ticket counter was very helpful, going above and beyond to answer our questions about train location and time.

  • Daniel Tourevski

Nicest lady, who is understanding and seemingly helps with every problem. Might need to take trains more often.

  • Dionna (1Dionna)

Clean, not hectic at all of a place. Hidden, bit off beaten path. Nice customer service area.

  • Venus Bursill

Very friendly service and they had our check baggage at the ready …

  • Penina S. Finger

Easy to find, park, buy tickets, and jump on the train.

  • socal foamer V3
