This will be a very honest review! So when me and my boyfriend first walked in we instantly said it smells and looks clean and once we did some further looking besides a few little spots in the bath tub the room looked really good. The room only came with 3 pillows which had next to none fluff so I called the front desk to ask for 2 more and they said they can't guarantee it but will try which i thought was odd but said okay, we ended up just getting one pillow which wasn't enough so we had to go buy another pillow. There was only two outlets in the room one by the bed and one by the bathroom sink. First that's really annoying there's lamps all over but only one was plugged in because there wasn't enough outlets and we couldn't charge our phones close to us we had to charge them over by the bathroom sink. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, it was like sleeping on a rock. Also, there was no "do not disturb" sign the we could put on the door to let the maid service know not to come in which we both thought was really weird but of course not a deal breaker. All in all the room was nice and the location was GREAT, it was close to everything which was super nice. Now would we stay here again? I'd say no just simply because the bed was soooo uncomfortable for me but if you don't care about that then this motel would be good.

If you LOVE roaches and broken A/C this place is for you. Staff was alright, didn’t care much about the roaches. Looking over the reviews now I can see it’s been an on going issue they don’t plan on taking care of. If you can stay elsewhere, do it. Spend the extra $5-$10 and go somewhere else. The only good thing about this place is that it’s just a couple mins away from the shops and bars. That ended up actually screwing me over though because when I checked in at 4 pm, I didn’t see any roaches so I went downtown, came back later in the night, staff was gone, got back to my room, and it was roaches galore inside. No one downstairs available for me to switch rooms, I already spent the money, and I was 7 hours away from home so I stayed the one night. I kept all of the lights on, sink and tub running so the roaches wouldn’t keep coming up through the pipes, and left as soon as I could. I expected the typical dinginess but there’s literal food stuck to walls, bed is as hard as a rock, weird blood like stains everywhere, and walls are paper thin. If it wasn’t for the DOZENS of roaches, I wouldn’t have bothered making a review. I don’t want people bringing roaches home with them. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Owner was very nice and accommodating on the phone but staff was rude and not helpful. Booked through a third party so there were issues they couldn't control but after we finally got our room " the only room left" (we noticed multiple rooms and a near empty parking lot) there was a man taking off the restroom door in it. He apparently was fixing it but was not a regular employee as he didn't have a key and we were told not to shut the front door to our room so he could get in and out. The room smelled terribly of smoke and was very dirty. There were tons of dents in the door and walls as though someone had been shooting it with an airsoft or bb gun. No bed bugs or visible roaches but we saw German roaches outside the door a few times so there has to be some somewhere. Smoke detector was hanging off the wall and beeped regularly through the weekend before it completely fell off. Close to downtown and shopping and bars so oh well.

fishy behavior, abuse. I overheard a manager go to sleep with a female in room next to me. I was awoken to the sounds of panicked sobbing, as I listened I could clearly understand a there was a threat. I got him to disengage, and I sat beside wall speaking to victim all night til Dawn. When taking it all in from a larger scope of reference, it almost appears to be trafficking. They have several different cultures kids working for them, they abuse them (that was an employee who was beaten), they live on site, they take up for the managements manipulation. the kids/teens work alllll night from dusk til Dawn. The kids stole my phone the next day... and said it was for the manager to make sure I had no evidence. They never gave it back and disengaged my room phone. I think the Village Motor Inn off S. Congress, needs to be investigated.

Real life is completely different than photos. Rust on majority of rails, swimming pool filled in with dirt, holes in sheets, holes in doors, pillows flat and filling in some were shredded. No cable TV but around 5 antenna channels with majority of them being classic tv, like MeTV and Buzzer. Front door frame screwed in with screws at every seen frame cracked. No wifi, no ice bucket, no hangers or hooks to hang in stuff in the bathroom or dressing area. I Bought roach spray because I saw bugs here and there. The room did cool decently. I would not even recommend this place for a booty call location.

I understand that “you get what you pay for” but this place is bad. There are roaches hiding inside the warped wood dresser. The fire alarm is off and inside the nightstand with foreign liquids spilt in there. There is sticky substances everywhere in the room. Floors will leave your feet black. Sheets are stained. Mattress is easily 20 years old and every type of stain on it. Also, there was a homeless man sleeping directly outside the door. Not safe for women.

I’ve stayed in countless sketchy motels and this was by far the worst. Gross, rundown place. There were bugs in the bathroom and when I set takeout food on the counter above the fridge they showed up within a minute and were crawling all over. Bed was just okay - no bugs but comforter had stains and bedsheets were shredded in places. Unsavory hotel guests smoking weed and loitering in the walkways. Minimal communication with hotel staff and very convenient location so no complaints there. Just go next door to Crow Bar and drink yourself to sleep before you settle into this subpar space.

Normally I say that you get what you pay for, but here you get less. Previous reviews indicate that the place is renovated, but it certainly doesn't look that way. The bed had strange stains, the walls and counter tops as well. The bathroom was dirty so that we didn't dare to shower. There was a fire detector in the room with no batteries. The bed was very uncomfortable. The AC unit was extremely loud. The walls were very thin, we could hear everything from neighboring rooms. The worse part was the smell as we requested a non smoking room and didn't get one. The room smelled like cigarettes mixed with febreeze... It was nauseating! I wouldn't recommend this place.

I just wanted to start by saying that I just am giving my honest review of the place, We stayed the weekend in Austin. We got to the motel (it is not a family oriented area). I was just there with my friends for vacation, so we didn't care. The room deffinetly needs a deep clean, it seems that there was some sort of feces or blood on the bathroom door. The sheets on the beds had stains on them and had crumbs on top of the sheets. If your just looking for a place to crash for the night and don't care about that or the location. Than go for it lol

This was the nastiest hotel I ever stayed in. Refrigerator was not clean. The sink was dirty. No telephone. The WiFi you can only access if you go outside also I was afraid to sleep on the bed and was afraid to pull the covers back to even see if the sheets were replaced with clean so I decided to sleep on the floor. It was an insult to have no choice to give 1 Star to just to share my experience about this umm.. "hotel" the city should have it tore down the room smelled terrible. This place is scammy. I made a booking online for the wrong dates, but IMMEDIATELY contacted the 3rd party booking agency to let them know I needed to change the dates. They said they could not change the dates, and that I needed to cancel the reservation to receive a partial refund. I attempted to cancel and they said actually the hotel is not willing to offer ANY refund. So they are changing their story and trying to keep my $ for two dates I don’t need instead of the dates I do need. Sooooo... I guess it was pricey because of the Austin city limit festival. However, the room had a strong musty smell when you walked in. I can't say about the other rooms, but our room sure did need a paint update. Also, check for mold. there were couple moldy spots. Our bathroom toilet was broken. They should change it because someone can get hurt. I will say, the bed sheets looked clean... but the pillows we did not trust using it. luckily we had our traveling pillows. Not much really more. The heater didn't work there's big dry paint bubbles hanging down from the YouTube of I haven't been here since the weather has been warm enough to run air conditioner probably wet as hell the carpet not enough hot water phone doesn't work and Challenger so scattered scattered out that you can't look through them but I'm not sure how many there are they did have National Geographic special available to watch the parking lots really kind of in need of repair very tacky parking lot room did appear to be very nice and clean but nice and clean though. How has this hotel not be condemned? It’s beyond vile and 1 star is very generous. My mom booked a room for second night in an emergency that ended up being resolved within the hour. She tried to get a refund and they refused, citing a 24-hour policy. It’s not like she booked 24 hours in advance. It wouldn’t have killed them to make an exception and not force a woman to pay for a room she wasn’t going to/didn’t use. We made a reservation here AFTER calling and confirming that our son could check in after work at 1:30 am on the 10th of October. They confirmed this would be fine. We made the reservation and when my son showed up tired after work, they denied him a room stating check in was at 3:00 pm. THIS IS AFTER WE CONFIRMED WITH THE HOTEL HE COULD CHECK IN AT 1:30. Absolute s*thole. Met at the front lobby with "Credit card and ID sir" to which I said yeah I have a reserv- cuts me off and says it again. After the transaction I said "thanks so much" and he said literally nothing the entire time. Got in, room 107. Smells like mold so strong I was lightheaded, cigarette burns on bed cover, smashed lamp, literal graffiti on wall and desk, paint scratched off in multiple places, mini-fridge is busted up. Lots more, pictures are here. Don't do it, it's not worth it.

This place is the nasties I ever stay. Towel is like they never wash. Let the next guess use the same towel. I saw curly hair all over it. The room smell like cigarette. DO NOT STAY HERE! Horrible experience. Rooms were not clean, bed was not made, and VERY scary, shifty staff. Never saw a housekeeper on the property the entire duration of my stay. Racist owners, saw them treat people very poorly. Left a pair of shoes amongst other items in the room and was told I did not. When I told them I would be back to retrieve property with a police escort, I was appeased with "I'll call my housekeeper and they'll be here in 10 minutes." DO NOT STAY HERE!

I actually did not stay here, however I had booked through Expedia which had a three star rating. The reason I’m rating it this is because my dumbass left home without my wallet. I called Expedia which contacted the hotel for me and confirmed I could not check in without an ID even though I prepaid, but Expedia asked & I was granted a full refund from the hotel even though I did not purchase the insurance. Very grateful for that type of service which isn’t common these days.

I came here at 1 pm, and the room that was apparently ready had not been serviced and the sheets on the bed were missing. Came back 30 minutes later and there were a couple dozen COCKROACHes crawling on the floor. (No numerical exaggeration) ... That summer night, I made the unpleasant discovery that the AC was useless. Therefore, I had to leave the window open which ha no screen. Upon locking the door, the chain on top was missing and only1 of the 2 locks worked.

The Inn was completely renovated and reopened in the fall of 2018, disregard older reviews. Our room was completely refreshed and clean. New carpet, paint, fixtures. Even the doors and windows are new! The rooms are small but have the essentials, including a refrigerator and microwave. Wall-mount flat screen TV with HD cable. Note: no coffee maker, hair dryer, or hangers. Inexpensive option with good location in Austin. Family owned and run. Would stay again!

I stayed for two nights. The room was spotless! Well lit! The walls are my favorite color: purple. The neighbors were quiet. There was always someone from management cleaning and answering questions! The ac would turn on its own or when the room got warm. There was a mini fridge, microwave, TV, desk, shelves, and a lot of lamps. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone to stay at. It is close to the airport and other shops. Social distancing was practiced!

The place is gross. Very unsanitary. We switched rooms and there was a blood spot on the carpet. First room we were in had minor bed bug issues which is why we moved rooms. Second room we moved to (third floor) had serious bed bugs. After about one more unavoidable week (stayed 3 weeks), we cleaned our things of the infestation and left this place. By default we see prostitution and strange people. Only positive is that it is close to downtown.

If I could give less than one star I would have done that! Bad place, bad customer service! First they put me in a room where the air condition does not work! Then the put me in a different room with cold water in the shower! The room is dirty and has many cockroaches in it! I asked them to change the room they said no and offered spray! Very bad for the price!

Clean, simple, great location, PARKING INCLUDED WITH STAY! I could hear the plumbing at night, there was a good bit of activity from other guests but I didn't feel very disturbed. If you want a simple, functional place, this will do nicely. If you're looking for fluffy towels and absolute peace, go elsewhere. If you want to see the city and just need a room, this is an excellent spot for touring South Austin from. Bed 5/5 for comfort.

The Wi-Fi didn't work I tried for hrs to connect to it never worked. I told me office about all of these things and basically didn't care or try to make things right. I found blood stains on my pillow, splatters on the ceiling and lampshades, and the front door looked like it had been busted down, making me ponder what happened. The room was decent enough, however my last stay I had a 2inch cockroach crawl across my face. When I brought it up to management instead of offering any sort of compensation or apologies they simply said they would “look into it”. I even showed them a picture of the roach after I had hit it with my shoe. Definitely would never stay here again.

The place was about what you'd expect. Homeless walking around everywhere. The rooms smelled like weed, the sheets had cigarette burns, there was a half smoked cigarette in the corner of the room, the toilet seat was broken. Thankfully it was just for me, so my bar is low, and no roaches, which is a huge plus for me.

My room was roach infested I had to run away from the room and the hosts refused to give me my money back lying to me saying "we've never had complaints and there were no roaches" lies

Stayed here to convalesce post-op, loved my room! Staff is nice & accomadating, rooms are clean, bed & sheets were comfortable! I would've given 5 stars but there was a hiccup with the showerhead; making showering difficult. However, it was to be repaired the day I checked out. Overall, Great experience.

May 2022 - AVOID! there most definitely still are roaches, everywhere. I didn't see any at all until night, which is when it was clear the place is infested. I included pictures of just some I saw. There were many smaller baby ones too running around all over, which will be full grown in a couple weeks.

A decent hotel for the price. It is an old building so you do hear the pipes and what not. Stayed here a few times it was ok. I recommend if your just in need of a room for the night. Convenient location. I give it a 2.5

i rented a room for a week and all i did was kill bedbugs. Big ones and little ones. I would not recommend this motel for an animal to live and definitely not for a person. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Excellent. Exactly what a motor inn is supposed to be. The room was clean and in good condition. The owners are clearly paying attention and staying on top of things. I would stay here again.

It was a room. Had all I needed. No real issues with this place other than the prices. About $85 a day. I paid around $170 for 2 days smh

Haven't actually stayed there yet. Did visit some friends there though anf it seemed really clean and recently renovated...I think it would be a nice place to stay a few nights

A less-than-lasting impression of this multi-occupancy rental motel, that had no vanity of their tennants' comfort or limitatations.All units were unoccupied. Two thumbs down!

Terrible place - a pile of trash laying in front of the room and roaches inside. I asked for a refund immediately after seeing this and was promised only 50% back. Despicable.

Roaches in the room Only one towel of each size. Moldy and mildewy shower curtain, didn't come with coffee maker or blow-dryer in the room. Or an iron for that matter

This place is decent. We stayed here during ACL. It was the most affordable hotel in the area. The room was clean but a bit old. Good location, though.

Pretty cool place.. only thing that stopped it from being wonderful was my floor stayed wet from the ac vent draining into our room.

For what I paid, it's pretty okay. The front desk guy was really nice. So far that all I have to go off of.
