Automatic doors, well spaced out and well lit, easy to use for a wheelchair user ♿ Big selection of books, stationary, pens, magazines and some chocolate although chocs more expensive than anywhere else unless you get an offer for BOGOF. There is a small M&S food section with pasta, sandwiches, Colin caterpillar and Percy pig sweets and their own yummy shortbread. Self service is impossible to use in a wheelchair as it's lined up too narrow, too close together, can't get my feet in as in the way so can't reach buttons and I find I am blocking access for others to use self service as it's narrow, so down side is that I have to join the till queue, which is usually busy, where the cashier tells me I should have used self service and I have to explain the above over again that it's crammed in too tightly for a wheelchair and can't reach buttons as there's no overhang for me to tick my legs and feet under. The only shop that has got till counters correct for a wheelchair is Primark. Other shops can learn a lot from them. I'm out of the way, I can reach payment pad and feel safe and catered for, and no one is leaning on me! But that applies to all shops.

I recently witnessed long queues in this store - some people in this queue were finding it physically hard to stand waiting. Why would any shop actively arrange for such poor customer service ? Because WHS management want to “encourage,” in truth MAKE, customers scan their purchases. The only member of staff on the one open till was kind, compassionate and apologetic but clearly under pressure. Clearly no duty of care exercised towards her either. Yes I spoke to the manager who said he couldn’t change things either - Regrettably time for us to find another shop where good customer service wins over profit.

Visited this morning with my wife. The shop has a huge selection of books, magazines, confectionery etc it was very well stocked and clean. We visited the post office kiosk as well as general tills. The chap who served us had a disability but was very good and efficient in his job. Unfortunately I cannot remember the last time I was served by someone with a visible disability and it was nice to see this organisation taking such initiative. For all these reasons no issues in recommending

It's a good job I wasn't in a rush as the Post Office counter was poorly understaffed at lunchtime. There must have been 14 in the queue but only 2 members of staff actively serving customers. Don't get me wrong, the staff serving were excellent, friendly, helpful and efficient but it looked like poor planning that only 2 staff were serving during a peak time for customers.

I can hardly believe that you have this horrible and cruel Christmas card on sale in smiths. Especially as sainsbury were forced (by public opinion) to take it off the shelves. I'm unable to post a photo but have shared it on my fb page. It's the on that mocks the poor pigs by alluding to blankets. Not a bit funny. Don't be like sainsbury.

Clean well presented store but staff a bit snotty and don't seem to be in a rush to serve people & more interested in chatting to colleagues regards previous nights television programs …

It's so convenient having a post office at the back of the store along with all the bestselling books. The staff are efficient and do their best to deal with enquiries quickly

Quality products, plus the very efficient post office and M&S is useful. Whsmiyh has come to life since M&S arrived in there. Staff always very helpful and pleasant.

Ordered a lunchbox for my daughter online. They charged my card twice. After a few emails I received my refund within 2 days.
