Usually, this is a great place to get my laundry done, this most recent visit a larger washer I was using got stuck on the rinse cycle. After the first hour, I approached the attendant with the issue. She briefly looked at the machine, pushed a button, and then told me she couldn't help me. She called her boss, who said that he couldn't show up to fix the issue for another 5 hours. I stated my concern for my clothes that had already taken an hour long beating, she said they would be fine and showed no concern. While I can certainly understand that things happen and machines can break down I was disappointed at the lack of understanding and customer service from the woman. Ultimately when the owner was able to get there he was very apologetic for the inconvenience and insisted that he re-wash, dry, and fold our laundry to try and make it up to us. We may return in the future but will make a point to do so only on days he is working.

200 dollars in laundry destroyed. I booked an appointment online several days in advance because I had quite a bit of laundry. When I showed up, the lady rolled her eyes and acted like she had no idea about the appointment and was frustrated with how much I had. I gave a very generous upfront tip to cheer her up and to motivate her to do a great job so that my laundry was done well. I'm honestly in so much shock I can't even understand how this place isn't embarrassed. I had the laundry sorted... a full bag of socks, 1 bag of towels... etc... none of the socks were folded together. In fact they were spread out and stashed inside of different bags tucked away in pieces within different bags. My clothes smelled burnt and were completely faded and ruined. As well as have soap stains all over them. I usually try and give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was beyond horrific for a 200 dollar service

About 5 months ago I moved into a new place and it didn't have a washer and dryer or hookups. This was the first place I tried and I've never gone anywhere else. The staff there are some of the most friendly folks you could ever hope to meet. They have excellent washers and dryers and all the necessities for doing your laundry on hand. The service I most love about this place and that I use at least a couple of times a month is the same day laundry service. It's as simple dropping off your clothes, with any detergent, softener, dryer sheets, sent boost that you prefer (or not, they will use there stuff if you don't mind) and voila; 2-3 hrs later you get a polite call letting you know your laundry is all done. I couldnt recommend this place more! In a world where real genuine customer service is hard to find this place is as good as it gets.

I guess the place must be great when the owner is there. If they aren't though, forget it! Went in there Saturday after work to do a load. Brought my computer to get some work done too since wi-fi is a main draw. Well, the attendant didn't have a clue what the password was for the wi-fi and didn't seem to bothered to find out. She just wanted to sit there and watch tv. Which someone else stated they have cable but she had it firmly locked on a religious channel that selling the sermon of the day. (No, quite literally "order now and we'll throw in...".) Actually, the place would have been better without the attendant. All of her helpful suggestions were less than helpful. I know the place rates very highly but I just didn't see it. So it must only be when the owner is on site. If they aren't, you've been warned.

I was looking for a cheap laundromat to wash my kids uniform clothes for school. Well today was my lucky day because for $2.50 I was able to wash a load!! Can you say winning? Hell yeah!! As soon I me, my kids and husband walked in we were greeted by a nice gentleman at the front desk! A smile goes a long wayHe offered my kids freeze pops which kept them quiet and happy. They have free WiFi which also is a plus. So then, he offered my husband and I free coffee and it was hot fresh and yummy. The sitting area is nice and there is also a flat screen to watch. Overall this is the best damn laundromat that I've ever been to. The energy is positive and relaxing. Will I come back to the Walnut Place Laundromat? Hell yeah!! The best damn 2.50 in quarters that I've spent.

Very nice attendant! Doing something as lame as laundry is always better when listening to a British accent!! He even offered to help me haul my payload out to my car! That was a moot point since I walked from the Embassy Suites - Plaza (about 10 min). They offer a per pound laundry service, but I'm too neurotic about my laundry to let anyone else do it!! There's plenty of machines... Even a few triple load washers. It's an older place that could use a fresh coat of paint just to freshen things up. It's decently neat & tidy though. Like any other laundry facility with 70% of the dryers running, it's hot in here. The ceiling fans make the heat bearable. And the vending machines help assuage any dehydration/starvation symptoms!!! Happy washing!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Went there a hour before clothes to dry my clothes. First off he start feeling like he doing us a favour staying open til closed. He then watches us load our clothes in when I added 5 more mins to my load (30 mins to close) he raised his voice at me saying " how much time do u need I'm not getting paid overtime for this!" In front of my children! I was so angry but I had to keep my composure because I didn't want my girls to see me act out of character. I simply reminded him that I still had 30 mins. I ended up rushing because I felt myself coming unglued!! I've never been treated this way and I didn't appreciate it at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like this place as a laundromat, but do not go here for dry cleaning. I figured I would save time by getting my dry cleaning done at the same place that I do my laundry. First of all, the woman helping me couldn't figure out the price for two shirts, one blazer, and a pair of pants, which was fine but they called me and ended up telling me that it was going to be $42.00, and I have never paid that much for dry cleaning. It took about a week and a half for the clothes to be done, and I went to pick them up, and the tags were stapled to my clothing instead of pinned. Ended up paying $42 for some holes in my clothing.

I live on the edge of KC and Raytown, but this laundromat is well worth the drive! The area is very safe and I have never felt worried going there alone. Some of the machines are cold water/hot water only, but that is the only drawback I have found! The attendants are very friendly and the business is family owned so if you have any questions or need any help they are more than willing to help! It is so much cheaper to do my laundry here instead of paying $9+ to wash my clothes in unkept washers at my apartment complex. Thanks Walnut Place for a safe, affordable, clean laundromat in the KC area!

I'd give these guys 6 stars if I could. I dropped off about 5 or 6 loads of laundry to get a same-day full-service done, and was so impressed with what a wonderfully smooth, stress-free experience it was. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and polite, he took care of my order right away, and called not even 3 hours later that my laundry was done. The price was incredibly reasonable too, just $1/pound. Everything was clean and folded very neatly -- even the fitted bed sheets! Just an all-around fantastic experience.

Always closed earlier than what’s stated on the hours, and the owner or whoever constantly questions the amount of time you dry your clothes. Says it’s wasting gas and to only put it for 30 mins. Ok, well I’m a paying customer and I dried my comforter set for 70 mins and it came out still a little damp, so now what? At first I thought the guy was nice but then he ended up being more nosy than anything, unfortunately. If you can’t afford to stay open til close or run your machines maybe this is not the business for you!

The owner actually helped my carry my laundry from my car to the building. Then gave me a quick tour of the facility. The entire facility is under video surveillance, and always someone working the counter, so you will never be alone. Plus free Wi-Fi, cable TV, plenty of seating (I am comfortably sitting waiting for my loads to get done typing this review) lots of vending machings, even ice-cream for sale. Did I step into a time machine?!? That might be a stretch, but customer service like this doesn't exist anymore.

Walnut & East 43rd Laundromat A local hidden treasure. A Great place to get the laundry done and I have always found parking. Older machines and they operate by quarters only. Working change machine and a soap/bleach vending machine available on the premises. The place is safe and reasonably clean with lots of folding tables and is always staffed and the owner is always on location during hours of operation. Provides a popular and reasonably priced laundry drop off service for the locals but I have never used it.

It is my first time using this laundromat, my clothes are still in the washer actually. Immediately upon entering , I was greeted with nothing but kindness, respect, and the guy running the place went out of his way to really provide the kind of customer service that the rest of society has completely forgotten about. For that reason alone, I will continue to do business here . Plus it's a small business, and times are hard. ALSO THE MACHINES ARE ALMOST HALF THE PRICE OF THE OTHER PLACES IN THE AREA!! WIN WIN

This place helped me out in a pinch. My hotel laundry room was not working and I desperatley need to wash some clothes. This place was not too far from the hotel. The owner Uncle Walle and Mrs. Vicky are really good people. My last time in there, you could see remnants of a breakin. Uncle Walle did not let that dampen his spirits. Their washer took my money but my clothes did not wash and my clothes came out dry. They refused to return my money. The washer appeared to work when they started it, which to them was proof that I had not started it, but I'm sure I put the money in because of the number of quarters I had remaining in my pocket. These machines are very old so I'm not suprised that they can fail and then work again right after, but I was treated if I was lying and they stole 3 dollars from me

I love this place and I have been coming here for years. The owner is super friendly and will always help you out and take a minute to chat. I have been doing laundry here for years, even when I had a laundry machine available in the basement of my apartment (creepy, dirty and three floors down....) I would rather bundle it all up and take care of it all at one time. The washing machines are new and can handle big loads, there a TV and free wifi.

I love this place! I stay on 97th street and will come all the way here just to have a decent experience. To call the staff helpful is a significant understatement. They are extremely kind and love to converse! 99% of the machines are always working and the vending machines stay full and reasonably priced. Again...I live on 97th street and can never bring myself to wash anywhere else...that speaks volumes in itself! Love this Laundromat!

I recently moved to an apartment without laundry, and I've been going to this laundromat around once a week for the past year. The workers are incredibly kind and helpful with any questions, the facility and machines are always well kept and clean and the environment is quiet (which is great because I always do my homework while I do my laundry). I always recommend this place to my friends, and I highly recommend doing laundry here.

Super friendly staff the guy that was there when I went in showed me the washers told me all the prices and suggested the washers that would work best for me. Super clean place staff was cleaning while we where there. Washers worked well and dryers worked about the same as other places. It cost me half as much to do laundry here as it does at other laundry places. Extremely happy and pleased I found this laundry mat.

I called about 9:00 this morning and asked how much for wash & fold service. She was very polite and helpful. It's only $1/lb, which I think is reasonable. I took my clothes in, weighed them. Got 23lbs, with hamper so she charged $21 even. In a few hours she called and I picked my laundry up, clean and folded. Great service, great place. Will definitely return especially because they are 2 blocks away.

Walnut Place Laundromat is a family owned and operated Laundromat. Wally, and his staff, are always friendly and willing to help their customers. They'll even help people get their laundry in and out from their cars. Their prices are reasonable and their machines are always in good repair. It has free Wi-Fi so you can use your computer while you're doing your laundry. I recommend the place highly.

I feel very welcomed in this laundromat. The owner has always been friendly and helpful, and the majority of the machines have been in good working condition. Even when it’s busy, you can pretty much walk right in and get a machine or two. And the high-capacity dryers are handy! Eventually I’ll have my own W/D set at home, but until then, this is my go-to place.

My only problem with this place is that it regularly closes earlier than there hours state. When there hours were 10 pm its regular closed before 8. Now the hours are 8pm and im here at 6:45 and once again its closed early. Otherwise, there are always plenty of machines to use. It is a very clean place. The attendant is always very nice. Just never do laundry past 6pm.

I had a car full of clothing that needed to be washed and the attendant was so kind. He not only helped me fold piles and piles of laundry, but helped me take it to my vehicle. He also seemed to know many of the people coming and going and was incredibly friendly and gracious towards everyone. I was just amazed at the level of customer service and kindness shown.

I've been going here for about ten years, and I love it. They are always so friendly and helpful, and the machines are reasonably priced. I can bring two months worth of clothes, and I'm finished within 90 minutes! (To be fair, I don't like to fold my clothes at the laundromat, so that's just the runtime of the machines, but still. You get my point.) :)

The gentleman who runs this laundry is absolutely fantastic. I've had my clothes done in many different cities and states over the years, I have never had anyone be as customer focused, efficient and friendly as the man who runs this shop. If you are in Kansas City and you need your laundry done, you owe it to yourself to have him do it.

I don't usually do my laundry at a laundromat so I don't have much reference for the price or functionality of the machines, but I was able to get my things pleasantly clean very quickly. This was also one of the friendliest places I've been in KC. The person working was kind, honest, and gave me tips on the machines too. I'll be back!

Good, but could be better. Different size washers available, but there is no price on any of them. Bathroom had no hand soap. Machines take quarters only. No cash, no cards. There is a change machine available. The space was warm. I didn't feel any AC on. Plenty of washers and dryers. Two TV's in the place.

The owner is very helpful and kind. Will be back. W/D are great. Used a medium size machine (45Ibs compacity) heavy wash for $4.75 and a "small" size machine heavy wash for $2.75 (able to fit 3 full size blankets). 30 min drying time for $1.50. You start at just 10 mins for $.50 and add from there.

My last bunch of pillows and down plows washed and dried (?) by them ended up in mold in all items, which had to be disposed of. Very costly ($75 for their services, over $500 in moldy feather comforters and pillows). Will not be back unless I do the laundry. I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THEIR SERVICES.

Just moved in the area. I had work clothes that was already washed that just needed dried. Was turned away stating no dryer use only allowed. Sad that I had to go all the way to Main Street to dry my 1 load of laundry. I've never been turned away to use the dryer only. Sad!!

I came in about an hour before I had to leave for work hoping I can get a little bit of laundry done. It was very clean very well staffed there were a large selection of machines. I was in and out faster than I thought I would be! I will definitely be back

I do the laundry drop off, Walley is a great guy and super nice. I tip close to 25% everytime for the speed and quality of work. He often offers to do my sheets, blankets and covers for no additional charge. His daughter is also very nice lady.

Small, affordable and very personal service The man helped carry my laundry, put my soap in, and at the end when my soap spilled in my basket he washed it out for me because I had my 1 year old with me. Top notch service from a very caring guy

Nice place! Glad they sell icecream and charge so little. Super hot in the summer, though-- I don't think they have A/C. I wouldn't write home about it, but it's definitely worlds better than some other places in the area.

Easily the best laundromat in KC. Wally is the owner and he is INCREDIBLY kind, helpful, attentive and caring. You can wash numerous loads at once and you can buy soap or fabric softener if you forget it at home.

The owner is always so courteous and polite. So many companies can benefit from following his customer service. He is always willing to help when needed and goes above and beyond to make laundry more tolerable.

Ok, not very clean. No change for $20 available only quarters. Called ahead to ask for same day, they said maybe. Wifi access says to ask for password, then she says, it don't work but you can try.
