Waterfront Station is a historic transportation hub located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The station serves as the terminus for the SkyTrain, Canada Line, and West Coast Express commuter train. It's also the main transit hub for buses, ferries, and seaplanes. The architecture of the building is stunning, with its ornate details and grandeur. The station is a popular destination for visitors to take photos and explore the unique history of the building. The station is well-organized and easy to navigate, with clear signage and helpful staff. It's a great starting point for exploring downtown Vancouver, as it's located near many popular attractions, including the Vancouver Convention Centre and the historic Gastown district. There are also many dining and shopping options located within the station, including fast food outlets and high-end restaurants. The shopping options include everything from souvenir shops to high-end fashion boutiques. Overall, Waterfront Station is an important transportation hub in Vancouver that also offers a unique opportunity to explore the history and architecture of the building. It's a must-see destination for anyone visiting Vancouver and a great starting point for exploring the city.

If you made it to Vancouver and are at a Hotel near the cruise port (Pan Pacific hotel), There is a wonderful food court under the FAIRMONT Hotel (across from PAN PACIFIC hotel), it is even adjacent to the WATERFRONT STATION stop on the Train . Access to it is by stairs, escalator or short tunnel adjacent to just about every hotel in the area. LOOK out for the WATERFRONT STATION signs. Here you will find just about ANY Fast food joint you know: McDonalds, Subway, Fat Burger, Thai Express, Nature's Fare (salad bar), Umi Sushi, My Toan (Vietnamese), Juga Juice, etc. And there is also a Rexall Pharmacy store here, just look around for it, it is around the corner from the food court seating area. Some of the businesses, like McDonalds, are open early for breakfast, we were here before 9am on a Saturday before boarding our cruise ship and McD's was open long before we got there judging by the number of people eating food with McD's label or the empty food wrappers they were clutching.. Tasty and VERY reasonable, easily comparable to prices back home.

First the bad: Where are the friggin' washrooms?! I couldn't find any! Now the good: Everything else. From the outside, it looks like I'm getting into a train station from the 1700s in London. But the inside is completely modern. The sign boards are clear and visible from a good distance guiding people to the right place. The station also has some places to eat (quick snacks though, not restaurants). The bridge that takes you from the main train station to the waterfront SeaBus station is EPIC! You get the best view from there. The water, the mountains, the downtown building, the sea harbor, everything. I think this is one the best design train stations I have ever seen in the world. Yes, including LA Union station and NY Grand Central.

After entering the main station we moved towards the Waterfront Ferry Station which is through a covered walkway about 250 to 300 meters long. We used our pre-loaded Compass Card which is a multi-purpose pass which can be used on the metro, motor bus or the Sea-bus. One can buy a single use ticket as well. There is a ferry crossing every 15 minutes. We waited at the covered ferry station till all the incoming passengers had alighted, then we rushed into the seabus to get a good seat. The seabus starts back to Lonsdale Quay in north Van within 2 or 3 minutes. It is a good experience to ride the seabus and get incredible views of Vancouver harbor.

My favourite part of Waterfront station is the Seabus . Take it weekly to North Vancouver. I wish the station had healthier restaurants. Jugo juice is ok but the drink tasted a bit weird. The health food store is one of the highlights along with the taco restaurant. I like to walk up the stairs and look at the views of the city before catching the train . Washrooms would be nice too. The city should consider a underground path leading to other buildings like Toronto ‍♀️.

It's an older building, definitely more in line with the era it was built, with large open general area, but way too much sprawl with the expo line, Canada line, and seabus all a solid 3-5 minute walk from each other. One nice point about the place is it's style, with a very old timey feel to the lighting and sweeping walls. Good, not great, still has scaled well with the introduction of Canada line traffic before the 2010 winter Olympics.

The Westcoast Express is gold - gets me from dt to Mission in half the time! Plus it's air-conned & not as crowded as it used to be, yay.. (That prob won't last, given recent govt. retardations/ glowing reviews like mine lol) Staff are efficient, helpful & friendly.. What's not to love? Beats rush-hour traffic any day of the week, to oR fro!! (1 * removed for taking away both coffee bars -- on train & at Waterfront Stn grrr!!)

Cool transit station that leads to the Skytrain and Seabus. The architecture of the building is unique. Easy access to the Skytrain. No washroom facilities available here. The building is clean and well lit. I remember going through here 33 years ago when my wife and I were on our honeymoon. So it’s part of the Vancouver transit system but has some great memories taking a ride on the Skytrain and Seabus.

No bathroom in the foyer. Beautiful architecture, old design. Not too much going on here besides the hustle and bustle of travelers. It does have all the necessities required to travel publicly, except public bathrooms (maybe there are on the paid, but that doesn't help a local walker in need of a bathroom. Accessible, central location. Several amenities and luxuries surrounding the station.

Good station. Business start-up office. Read up on your ideas and how to market them. A Starbucks, A & W, Subway and numerous other shops. Some are pop-ups and are not always there. Royal Bank ATMs. Benches. You could go anywhere from here. Mission, North or West Van, Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond. Lots of connections. One of the major hubs of the Greater Vancouver transit/bus system

Waterfront is a good great place to move around to spend your time. It is near the sea bus terminal. Waterfront area displays several festivals including Caribbean days festival and Canada day. You can park your vehicle /car here and go over to Lonsdale market etc. These places are wheelchair and stroller accessible and further there are good restaurants etc.

  • David Miiller

Fairly good experience for a public washroom. Stalls were spacious, though in a state of mild disrepair. My stall for example did not have a coat hook. The washroom was relatively clean with inoffensive smelling soap. Definitely a good effort on the part of the waterfront facility, considering that they hold a monopoly on toilet facilities in the terminal.

One of the most beautiful cities I have ever had the chance of visiting. It was one of the best cities to explore on foot or via transit. After the winter Olympics, the city's infrastructure had significantly improved and made getting to and from the airport much easier and gave light to the beautities of this great Canadian city.

Conveniently Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. It is the last stop and a starting point to get trains and sea bus to any destination within greater Vancouver area. Lots of eatery within and outside the station. Nearby attractions are gastown, ocean view, shopping malls and lots of restaurants and food truck places.

  • Cristina Vasilenco

The Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver is a historic landmark as well as a transit hub. It’s an impressive beautiful building that was one of Canada’s famous railway hotels. The hotels were built by the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railways as a place for their passengers to stay.

  • Noah Tsang

Located right in downtown, this station was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway over 100 years ago. Now it's one of the busiest transit hubs in Vancouver. You'll find all transit types like SkyTrain, buses, SeaBus, and West Coast Express. Also, it's supposedly haunted by ghosts, so watch out.

  • Terry Sampson

Beautiful old building! A serious suggestion would be to put more digital signs that say where a train is going. Since the expansion, it would be nice to have signs thst aren't hidden between television screens. You have to get half way up the landing to see where a transfer is heading......

As a BC out of town tourist, it was incredibly hard to find a bathroom. Bathrooms close at 6 on Sunday in Vancouver. I had to go to Roger’s place to use my Costco membership in order to go to the bathroom. I guess they expect me to take a squat in the middle of the place to relieve myself.

  • Travelwithzen

Easy to access to Canada line station, to king George, to surrey, seabus to Northvan, express train. Bars and restaurants across the area and mini convenient store. Built over one hundred years ago to handle transcontinental trains, it has renaissanced into a twenty-first century transit

  • Bruuj Official

Iconic and makes it easy to travel. Compass cards are the way to go and they let you go go go! Little shops for food, coffee, tea, and snacks. Washrooms for customers near the SEABUS! Only 15 minute wait times for the SEABUS too. Awesome place! to meet up and start an adventure!

  • Luc Burns

Most of the time transit is pretty good. Sometimes you run into a great bus driver or an awesome attendant at the the seabus, other times it feels like the transit police are just there to hassle people. It's over now, but the construction of the toilets got really annoying.

  • Alex Merryman

Interesting and historic train station with lot's of meaningful history regarding Vancouver. It's worth a visit even if you aren't traveling out of it. There are several places to eat within the building and nearby there are several vantage points looking out over the rails.

  • Adrian Mandy

From here there are two skytrain lines the West coast express commuter train and the seabus to the North Shore. This is your stop if you want to explore Gastown. A couple of good restaurants as well as fast food vendors for a quick bite make this a great hub for travelers.

  • 赤江龍介

I really liked taking the seabus(ferry service that links downtown Vancouver and North Vancouver) up and down Waterfront and Lonsdale Quay to commute. Service is every 15 minutes, no rush hours so no traffic which is very helpful.... but do note this is zone 2!!

  • Jeff

A center place to all kinds of transit: Seabus, Canada line (Richmond and YVR), Expro Line, Coastal express etc , even Helijet --- it's a pity and ridiculous that there's NO PUBLIC WASHROOMS AVAILABLE !!! Be prepared well beforehand !! Always crowded.

  • GenDisruption Fuller

Schedules are off, Google does not have the right schedules. I don’t think this is a translink problem. Google has always barfed the summer schedule changes. Tho, if these and last years and the year before that, and the year before are

  • Deniz Bilgin

Students- you can use your Upasses! The monitor in Waterfront station indicates the departure time. The ride is about 15 mins long. The ferry has plastic seats. Shaw bothered to put ads on every single one of them. No washrooms on board.

  • Kolton Smith

Living on the North Shore it use to be an inconvenience when you had to go to the Airport. The Canada Line and Seabus changed all that. The last time I came back my flight was delayed I arrived very late. My friend and I arrived at the

Waterfront station in W Cordova St, downtown Vancouver is a major intermodal public transportation facility and the main transit terminus in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. On the way to SeaBus terminal you can see this view.

  • Carlos Lopez

Canada is so rich yet for some reason, they have taken away all of the benches inside. There is nowhere to sit and enjoy a coffee while you wait for friends. Vancouver is a sick joke. It will never be world class. NEVER.

  • Sean Calverley

The Seabus is a nice ride across. They've cleaned up the Seabus terminal quite a bit but the starion itself not so much. If you don't mind wandering through crack heads & junkies begging for money it's a pleasant place.

  • Arturo Lanceloth

I was impressed that you can ride many modes of transportation with an unique fare! At the SeaBus between downtown and North Vancouver, you can obtain many awesome views from the sea and the city.

  • Petre Ene

A beautiful old train station, originally constructed to serve the pacific railway now is home to two of the skyline trains and the west coast express. The building in itself is a wonder

  • Maqsud Ahmed

After escalators and elevators upgrade rider comfort level has increased. The staff at seabus terminal are very helpful. Seabus service is more frequent. The place has a cultural decor.

CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS. YOU can't access SKYTRAIN from main entrance. You must go to Hastings and Granville entrance. SKYTRAIN should put some FLYERS mostly for TOURISTS.

  • Mashdash

I spent $20 for a tiny proportion of spaghetti, which took an hour to come. The place isn’t that busy, and this is really really slow for this tiny proportion.
