This is a review for Magic of Lights, held at Wesley Clover Parks Campground. For those considering it, I'd say it will win over even the biggest grinch or jaded teenager. It's well worth the price of admission and even worth the wait in line. The only downside here is the popularity; I attended with my family (including my boys, now 6 and 3) in both the first year it was open and again yesterday. We were lucky yesterday and met the other cars in our little convoy on Moodie at 4:30 and were in the park by 5:00. By the time that we did our tour through the lineup ran all the way through the empty portion of the campground, along Corkstown Road, and back to Moodie which I'd imagine would be a couple of hours in the lineup for the last cars. I'm told that earlier in the season (we were the 21st of December) and weekdays are less of a wait. Tickets purchased in advance were less expensive but we saw that they were also available at the door The display winds its way through the campground and takes 20-30 minutes from entry to exit. Light displays have various themes (Santa's Village, Candy Canes, Around the World, Construction, 12 Days of Christmas, etc.) and are exceptionally well done. Many of the individual displays have brief animations in the blinking lights and it's clear that a ton of thought and money is reinvested each year in making it even better than the last. There's a radio frequency to tune in to during the drive with ad-free Christmas music on a loop which adds to the feeling. As mentioned above, my boys are 6 and 3 currently and loved it! We were driving through with three other families as a socially-distanced get-together; we had a conference call going between the cars and singing along to the music, so everyone was in the holiday spirit. I think it will be a regular holiday tradition for us.

he park was easy to find. It is located about a 20 minute drive from the Parliament Buildings. There is pavement all the way until you reach the park. The interior roads are graveled and in good condition. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. Our site, 3B12, was a back in that was plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is good for a rural park. Most sites had a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was quiet and pleasant. There is park included wifi but you needed to be near a hot spot. We were not thus we relied on our own. There is NO cable TV but we did find a few OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of the trees if you don’t have a portable dish. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them to be very dated but clean. There is a playground for children but no other activities in the park. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a great place to use as a base visiting Ottawa. We paid $60.00 per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area.

Edit: complained about the washrooms and showers and within two hours they were cleaned. So if you have a issue, say so, and it will be fixed What a difference from last year. The washrooms are not cleaned, the shower stalls are disgusting with no effort to clean them. There is a new shower head and lots of hot water but don't go in barefoot, definitely need to wear shower sandals. Will definitely have to think about booking this again. Excellent campsite. Washrooms are older but they are cleaned regularly and one of the showers has a bench seat where you can place your stuff so it doesn't get wet and you can sit down to put on your clothes. Sites are large, we had our van, a large screened tent and a double change tent on ours and it didn't even take up the whole space. Staff are friendly and helpful and respond fast when you have a query. I know that one of the complaints was the noise from the 417 but as a light sleeper it really didn't bother me and has no trouble falling asleep. Bike trails are close by and requires only a short run on the road with generous bike lanes. Would definitely stay here again.

Allowed people to check into one of our sites at 1130, half an hour before 12om check out and we were still there. They did NOT do any "Covid Cleaning" our coals were still hot.... It was also pretty empty in our cluster with plenty of empty sites they could've check them in. When I went to check us out I informed them in case these people had the wrong site. The response I got was "yes people checked in early, I hope they didn't rush you". Was ok otherwise, decent enough sites. Ground was filled with rocks on our two sites making it impossible to put our pegs in. Offices closes earlier so make sure to buy wood asap. They don't inform you that the electrical sites need a special adapter in order to use. Amenities need some love, the women's bathroom by the first cluster has tiles falling off, the splash pad is a concrete circle with 3 rusty sprinklers, one of which doesn't even shot into the pad. The playground was super cute, and there's a decent sized field but that was the extent.

Definitely recommend this campground. Our campsite was 3D5. nice and private. Considering how close to the highway the campground in this site was quiet. A quiet hum from the highway but in our camper we couldnt hear it at all. Hydro and water right on site worked great. Read reviews complaining about mosquitos. As someone from the North didnt find them bad at all. We actually commented how few there were! 3 spots on campground with great wifi. Enough that kids were able to download netflix for the drive home. Also nice little playset for the kids. Waterpad wasnt in use. Firepit and picnic table on campsite. Very close to the outlet mall and another mall. Short drive to downtown Ottawa. Not cheap but when I looked at other campsites in the area seems to be the going price. Couldnt have got any better and would for sure return!

This was the first time I had ever gone to see the magic of lights at Wesley Clover Park. My expectations were fairly low, really not knowing what we were going to see. To my surprise, this was a great light show. we got there a half an hour early, grandparents and almost three-year-old in the car. Not ideal, as we were now having to sit and wait for it to open. Within 5 minutes, one of the staff came to the gate and walked over to let us know that it wouldn't be long and that someone would let us in a little earlier. They didn't need to do that, of course, but we were pleased. I don't know about the rest of the services offered here, as we only experienced this one event. Having said that, we may explore other things during other seasons now that we've had this positive experience. Have fun.

  • Bruno Sperduti

This is a very nice private campground. What doesn't make sense is how they close up at 6 PM which we experienced on September 28 and why they take a $50 deposit. Apparently one simply turns away and tries to find something else as no one is available, nor is there any number to call. Every KOA and most other private campgrounds have an after-hours number for exceptional cases. There was another retired couple who arrived shortly after 6 also looking quite confused about what to do next. This approach of locking the grounds at 6PM is too heavy handed and very poor customer service, especially since they also take a deposit which I've never seen before. I'd suggest the operators take a more flexible approach and do more to accommodate their guests.

Stayed one night. Campsite 6C8. Considering it is basically within city limits the campsite feels pretty woodsy. With the RV parked on one side of the site, there was no one else within field of view. Event though we were surrounded by young families, it got very quiet by 8pm and it was quite calm. You could hear the highway in the distance, and at one point there must have been a motorcycle convoy race by, but otherwise it is a lovely little spot. The bathrooms were remarkably clean and functional. Hot water showers were great, and the electric and water for the RV were perfect. There is a little playground but there isn't really much else to do there except camp.

Pricing is a bit expensive for the campsites which are very open and very small. They are so open and not private that other campers can and will look in on your campsite as they walk by. They have washrooms with showers and they have a small wash basin outside for dishes. The ground is extremely rocky and near impossible to hammer tent stakes into. You have to buy wood provided by the campsite, $10 per small bag and should you use anything at all from the forest ground, be prepared to have the employees drive by you every few hours asking you what you are burning, even when you buy their over priced wood. At night you can hear the sounds of the 417, no matter how deep into the campsite you are. All in all, its an okay campsite.

  • Hilary Giles

2 stars because it was quiet and peaceful (but even that goes to the other campers, not the site itself. We could hear the 417, but not so loud that it disturbed us. The ground was too hard to peg the tent down and there were rocks galore everywhere. The sites l, except for the odd one, are small (we were on a tent site, RV sites might be different). The bathroom was very dirty. I was hoping this was going to be a good place for our 3 young kids, but it was not at all. The sprinkler pad is run down and basically useless. The playground isn't bad but is missing a rope for one of the climbing walls and only has 2 giant baby swings and no others. Overall, we were not impressed.

  • Sylvio L

One word. Spectacular! The place opens at 5pm, but be prepared for at least half an hour wait as the two long car lineups merge into one. Well worth the wait, driving at snail pace to the gate, as the 2 km journey inside takes just under 40 mins with lights display on each side of the one-way drive. Get your camera ready and as you tune in the 100.3FM, your video picks up all the Christmas Carols. Fortunately, it was not too cold and we were able to get lots of shots through the sunroof. Happy is see many Christmas themes in all the truly magic of lights coming alive. As we exit just before 7pm, we see the lineup way longer than we started. A must see annual attraction.

Biked to the campground via the bike paths along the Ottawa river to Corkstown road. Wanted to explore the campground for future visitors and thanks to Emily who gave me a tour of the grounds and amenities I would not hesitate to recommend this friendly campground. Most sites are a good size, wooded, deep but narrow and private . We even left with a bike map of the area and event calendar at the equestrian park nearby. Rates are most reasonable providing water and electricity. Must dump your waste waters on the way out. Cabins are also available in each cluster. Thanks again to Emily who went out of her way to show me the grounds. Much appreciated.

  • Cecile Willert

Stayed here many times in the past with good experiences. This year was a huge disappointment. I could comment on many ways in which the campground seems to be run down, but mostly the washrooms were completely unacceptable. Repeatedly there was no toilet paper in any stalls, no paper towels, and the showers were growing red mold as if they had not been cleaned or sanitized in weeks or longer. My husband reports that the urinals are disgusting and there is accumulated grunge throughout the men's washroom consistent with it not being cleaned this season. We will be looking for other options next time we're in town.

  • John Belbeck

Had three nights, but needed five to see everything that Ottawa has to offer, unfortunately the campground was booked out for an equestrian event next door. Great sites though- we had 1E6 site. No sewer available at all here, but a dump station on the way in. We had 30 amps and water, and lovely forest complete with squirrels and raccoons. The amenities need some updating or brightening up, but showers were good. Clean but just needs painting. Wifi only at the entry office area, but good. Staff were helpful in getting us set up with cycle info. It’s a nice ride into and around Ottawa. Highly recommend

I have only attended events like magic of lights here. There attention to detail and how much they care about the community really shows. The surrounding areas to the park like the watts creek pathway are a very important part of the community. They way they care about animals and wildlife is quite apparent.A true gem in the heart of Nepean. Looking forward to attending equestrian events that are upcoming this year.If you love nature this park is a must on your tour of the area.we just attended the ottawa dressage festival here and had a great time. Loved seeing all the beautiful horses.

  • Jason S

Fantastic location. I've only ever been here in September so I'm not sure about other times. The location is great, the prices are reasonable and there's virtually no neighbors to speak of. The trails on site link up to the Trans Canada Trail that takes one along the Ottawa river. One big plus is the availability of potable water. The only real downside is that the tenting experience leaves something to desire; most campsites are made of hard packed gravel except for a large unserviced area at the East side of the property. Bonus points: they offer a discounted rate to scout groups.

  • Patti Pelley

Certainly expected more from our capital city RV park. Washrooms need some TLC, a good pressure wash and daily cleaning. I was there in the AM and went back at 8pm, had not be cleaned all day. With no sewer hook ups, I assume more people use the showers if they are here for more than 4 days. Also, our sight had dog poop from the previous camper, which my husband stepped in, had to wash his shoes & outdoor mat as well as 2 large dog bones left behind. Good location to visit Ottawa, but certainly could use some work !!

  • Holly Cameron

Fairly private sites. Easy online booking. Dump station available. Everyone is transient no seasonal campers lots of sites available to come enjoy Ottawa for a few days. Close to hiking trails and shopping malls. You can hear the hum of the highway but in an RV you don't really notice it. Dog friendly. Lots have fire pits and picnic tables. There's no enforcement of rules and staff will not respond if other campers are allowing their dogs off leash to roam other people's sites. Quiet time is non existent.

  • Ricardo Ottawa

Visited for the winter lights display. Took forever getting into the park coming from Kanata. The wait from the Nepean side is reasonable. If rating was based solely on wait time from Kanata, I would suggest that you stay home. Note to the owner that you should direct traffic allowing both lanes equal access to the attraction. The lightning display was phenomenal! There are many different themes throughout and is a great family experience. This is the kind of activity that has become a holiday tradition.

  • Jacinta Marion Stringer

Husband and I took our son to this the magic of lights ❤️ so beautiful. Fair warning: the line can be LONG. We have gone on a weekend before Christmas in December and had to wait two hours in line. But we watched a Christmas movie while we waited and it was fine. We went for a second time in January shortly after new years and there was no waiting at all. I think we will try going around November this year to compare all three months it is open! Will update this when we do.

  • Corrie Cooley

The campground is beautiful. The staff was helpful to us in finding public transportation into Ottowa. My problem with the campground is on the bath house. Of the two showers only one was of practical use. The other looked like they converted one of the potty stalls into a shower. There was no place to dress once you finished your shower. There was a big group of tent campers sharing that inadequate facility with us. I'm on the fence about whether I would stay again.

  • Nicole M.

Stayed at the park for six nights. Here are the highlights: - Park close to downtown Ottawa. - Full service hookups available. - Reasonable privacy between sites. - Quiet. Make sure to bring mosquito repellant and coils. We drove in from Northern Ontario where there are so many mosquitoes they will carry you away so I did not expect them to be so bad. I was wrong. They are not particularly aggressive but they are around and they bite. We would stay here agin.

  • Dora Gray

The surroundings are nice, you are not right next to your neighbors, but if you need wifi for work, as I do, you must sit at a picnic table by the bathrooms. No usable wifi at the sites. Also, this place does not have sewer hookups and there is only one shower per "cluster" which is approx 50 sites... and the bathrooms are both antiquated and dirty. This park has a lot of potential, they just need to put the $ and time into improving it..

  • Laura Cadrin

This was a really nice campground. It was close to the highway but we did not really hear the traffic. The site we were in was wooded in such a way as we felt like we had privacy. The washrooms and showers were clean with plenty of hot water. There was something going on there at the time of our stay but it did not interfer with our camping. We were able to get an Uber into town quite easily. Really enjoyed our stay.
Service: 5

  • Marc Daguerre

Sites were a good size. Office staff was friendly. WiFi is only available near the office, which is perfect, otherwise people might be on their devices instead of enjoying the outdoors. I would avoid Lot 1D since it was kind of swampy and the mosquitos where insane in that area. The only real issue for us was the lack of cleaning in the washrooms. Shower stalls were pretty gross and looked like they had not been cleaned in weeks.

  • E C

Magic of Lights was fantastic. At $25 a car with proceeds going to charity, was a great way to contribute back to the community. The light show was creative especially with the limitation of them medium. There were scenes of nativity, twelve days of christmas, arctic animals, and much more. Would highly recommend those who have no yet gone to go! There is however a long wait (approx.45min) to get in as the drive is single file.

  • John Freamo

My sister and her family camped here for a week while visiting Ottawa. They camp quite a bit around the province and said this was one of the nicest for-profit campgrounds they've been to. We visited for an evening and it looked lovely. Plenty of tree cover. The facilities are clean and in great shape. There's a small, old playground that the kids enjoyed. A great campground considering how close it is to city centre.

  • Radek Zlamal

We put our kids into their Forest School summer day camp. They absolutely loved it. Came home every day muddy and filthy, but with a smile on their faces and lots of stories to tell. That's a sign of a great day. The counsellors are so friendly, attentive and patient with the kids. You can't lose. No wonder there is always a rush to register - this place is in high demand for a reason. It's amazing!

  • Glenn H

Excellent location for travelling to Ottawa. The site itself was great with lots privacy and full coverage from trees. No wifi. Polite staff. The bathrooms were very dirty and the showers almost unusable. If you don't need to use the facilities its a great place to stay, but if need to use them you need to get psyched up before each trip in. The worst bathrooms on our across Canada trip.

  • Ian MacLatchie

Christmas winter wonderland! We've done this site before, but it has much improved since we were first here. We love the colours and the variety of holiday themes covered. Nice that they support CHEO. MOVE 100.3 and Giant Tiger sponsor this event. Get there early for quick entry (you're gonna sit before you get in anyway). The tunnel is still the funnest part. We'll come back every year!

  • dragons eye

Visited for the lights display, arrived around 545pm and we drove right up to the booth, we had bought out ticket a few months ago at a reduced rate so the cost was quite reasonable. When driving up I didn't realize that the route twisted back and forth through the campground and took a good half hour to 45 mins to get through. We will definitely be back again next year.

  • A “Onceuponatime” C

Recently went to see the Magic of lights and it was beautiful my son love it!! It's COVID free because you can't go out of your car until the end. there's and area the stop pit where you can go down and take some pictures if you have a nice camera
Dog-friendliness
You can go to see the Magic of lights with your pets. Just can't get them out of the car.

  • amrit rodrigues

Great Christmas lights drive through.. Themes from fairy tales, 12 days of Christmas, The Nativity and a Hannukah theme as well , the only challenge was the long wait outside the venue.... A 1000mts travelled in 25 minutes.... Worth the wait and a must see during the holidays. Online tickets - 25 plus taxes per car, 35-40 dollars for Gate purchases

  • Josee Levesque

Campground is beautiful and quiet. The staff is curteous and pleasant. Very nice. The bathrooms need to be maintained more often. Toilets, sinks and showers are not cleaned everyday. Dirty clothes and garbage can be on counters for several days. The gates are closed at 8:00pm so people need to get out of car to open. It is too early.

  • Rocky Mountain RMT

Over all pretty ok! Private sites, decent price, well wooded, comfortable, good vibes. Like others have stated, they need to hire cleaners for the bathrooms. Nice little park for the kiddos. I love that they recycle, but would be good to post something about how to separate items on arrival, I wish campsites would separate compost.

  • Jacob Coates

Good campground small campsites but you can fit almost any size camper but after that little to no space for rest of your stuff. Secluded enough to feel like you're actually camping but close enough to the highway for a 20 min car ride to downtown with traffic. And 20 min walk to 2 bus station to take you downtown Ottawa or kanata

  • M S

We loved this place, perfect little camp spots, nice and private, power outlets, individual fire pits for each spot, showers and bathrooms within 15 seconds walking distance and very friendly staff. We really had a great night. Oh and very good price it was perfect. They even had ice cream sandwiches when we were craving a snack

  • tyler fowler

Excellent place to camp and be near all of Ottawa. Nice sites not crowded together for privacy. There is a small splash pad for little kids. However, there is no pool nor swimming facilities for older campers. Keep in mind that there are tons of nearby places to travel and cool off at. All around a great campground.

  • Robert Barter

Very clean campground, close to Ottawa. Easy access to bike trail network into city. Only concern was the grumpy red haired teenager at the office when we checked in. Couldn't even be bothered to say hello or welcome us when we arrived. Otherwise, this is a great urban campground. A good base to explore the capital.

  • RedPanda2871

great place to camp I went with my Outdoor education class and biked there it was very painful and you can kind of hear the cars on the highway while sleeping but I had lots of fun hanging out with the class, exploring and learning new skills.

We went for winter light show and it was amazing how they decorated it and how the lights on and off .They programmed it very well. IT Was not very expensive but one thing the last 2 steps were really tricky while driving there.Otherwise it was a fun activity to do with kids in winter/holiday season.

  • Caroline Young

The light show was fantastic and we still had the option to listen to some Christmas tunes even after the big day! Took us about 20-30 minutes to go all the way through, $30 seemed like a decent price since there were so many lights and so many sections! Its definately a must see next year too!

  • Marnie Scott

Only a 20 minute drive to downtown Ottawa was a plus. The tent sites were ok. Nicely treed. Friendly staff. Showers and bathroom facilities in our camping area were not cleaned regularly (same small bits of trash on shower room floor for the 3 days we were there) so that was disappointing.

  • Eric von Graevenitz

A nice campsite that is so accessible to Ottawa. We took a group of Scouts on a bicycle camping trip here and had a great time. There's excellent bike paths nearby plus some nice walking paths to explore. Some of the walking paths go to mounds that look strange and spooky at dusk.

  • Robert Long

I had never been. It was much better than expected. It was longer, and had more lights than you can imagine. At a preorder price of $20 per car, an entertainment deal at Christmas. They also have entrances from bith directions on Corkstown Rd. So you may want to check both lines.

  • Tim Ward

5 star location. Voltage drop on many sites when busy. Won't run AC. Facilities are being upgraded on a regular basis and should catch up to short falls. Despite this it is one of our favorite parks. Lots to do on the area and bike trails are the best in the world (yes the world)

  • Brent Anderson

The light display exceeded our expectations. Our kids (3 &1) loved it. Very impressed by how elaborate and extensive it was. The Buckle Up Zone at the end is a great idea- the kids really enjoyed getting out of their seats for the show, and this made it easy to get them back in.

  • Tamer Beit

We went to the magic light show. It was an excited long tour full of fun and amusement. The kids really liked how they make animation with lights, like the jumping deer and waving hands. It was $25 for the car which is well worth it. It took about 30 mins which is amazing.

  • Ian Hooker

Beautiful forested campground with great access to the city, a rare combination. Sites are well maintained, staff is friendly, lots of forest trails in the Greenbelt for dog walking or mountain biking. I wish it had three way sites but nevertheless I will keep going back.

  • leila salarpour

It’s a nice ride for watching beautiful Christmas lights. Lots of interesting themes. Good for children. Since the price is per car makes much more sense to go with a group of friends. Make sure to turn of the lights and turn on the video for enjoying the full effects.

  • Elizabeth Concha Gómez

Great place. Nice for kids. We saw some fox and raccoons in the forest. Bathroom is close to the camping site, sure it needs some love but it's not a big deal. The personal is very attentive. In my last day there, labor Day, my tire was flat and they helped me.

  • Michael

Alight at Night, the seasonal lights on display at the Wesley Cover park. Price is just under $20 but you can fill your car. We drive as slow as we can go, and so it takes 25 minutes. Take your time so you don't get pushed by people behind you - enjoy the view!

  • Reuben Janzen-Martin

Very nice campground. Reasonable privacy between most campsites. We stayed over the civic holiday long weekend and it was very quiet - lots of empty spots and no loud music or other activities. Nice walking trails through the woods behind the campground.

  • Jeff Willson

Wouldn't come back. Washrooms were dirty. Paying cash still requires a credit card and email address. Park itself is nice but much better out there. I also came to see since so close to parliament if Justin the snake would be under a rock in this park .

  • Tom Coxford

Great campsite with complete modern facilities located on the outskirts of Ottawa. Lots of camper & tent spots but be sure to book ahead. Tons of hiking & biking trails that connect to the City of Ottawa & National Capital Commission NCC trail networks.

  • GWoo

Campground is fairly spacious and well managed. Washrooms were clean and large. The campsite was private and had a fire pit. The park and ride public transportation was only a 10 minute drive away where we easily got into downtown Ottawa by bus service.

  • Scotty Spallin

Was there with the family on the last evening of their Magic of Lights event. While it was wet and rainy, the lightship itself was fantastic! There were dozens upon dozens of displays, all of which were amazing. Definitely going again next year!

  • Lazlo Klemenski

I drove through with a friend to see the Christmas lights. It turned out to be the best thing ever in this pandemic. Lights, music, wonderment, and hearing the delightful sueals of joy from children I cars really lit up our faces with happiness.

  • Kim Robinson

This is an amazing spot! Bathrooms were very clean, park is well kept and our little cabin was exactly what we needed. It was nice to have hydro and a small fridge. It is very easy to get to downtown Ottawa from here. We will definitely go back!

  • Todd White

Went to the annual Magic Lights show with my children, and it was a fun time. Compliments to the organizers for the efforts to make a memorable event for the whole family. Worth the $25/car admission in support of the Senators Foundation.

  • Leanne Macnair

Just DON’T stay here! We are on day 30 of our cross Canada holiday and this is hands down the worst campground we’ve been to. It’s hard to put into words how bad this place is. The bathroom was filthy with a large garbage can overflowing

  • Sohrab Ebrahimi

These photos are from the final day of the festival of lights. we filled up the car and for 20$ we were treated to an amazing display of lights. our first drive thru light show and it was magical . amazing display of art. …

  • Aaron Ludmer

There was quite a long wait for the Magic of Lights show last night (possibly because of the province wide lock down announcement on Boxing Day). The lights themselves were great and seems like an activity well suited for this year.

  • Ross

What an amazing Christmas event. The lights are magnificent and takes about 25 to 30 minutes to drive around and see them all. They have many displays that animate. The grounds and roads are well kept making driving with cars easy.

  • LAURIE

Great location. Driving a full-size truck into Ottawa was not a good idea so we took Lyft a couple days (about $25 CAN) which is about the same as a parking spot. WIFI was only at the front of the campground. Showers were fine.

  • Yousra Harb

Magic lights is a magnificent experience sharing the spirits of Christmas. We visited during the pandemic, and it was magical. Would definitely go again although the line up is a little bit long, but it is worth the wait!

The events which are held at Wesley Clover Park are always of high quality and worth the trip. Whether it be the Christmas lights, the Halloween fright or a summer camping trip, you can't go wrong with Wesley Clover.

  • Elizabeth Postma

Bathrooms are in terrible need of proper cleaning! Bugs and spider webs all over, sink was not cleaned, garbage wasn’t emptied for days at a time. Great private sites and good location is the only reason for 2stars.

  • Dan M

Went for the Xmas light display. About a 20 min wait at 6 pm on the 23rd. When we left about 40-45 min later the line was probably over an hour. Display was fun. For $20/car for an online ticket it was good value.

  • GSC

Really nice campsite, close to the city, the campsite has everything you need from it, although when we arrived there were a lot of insects.

I'd say a good place to visit for Christmas lights for kids up to 6-7 years old. Watch out for the long line ups: we went the week of Christmas and were literally in line for 3 hours! Wish we would've known.

Went for the Christmas lights display. I highly, highly recommend going to see it. Long line ups to get in, but well worth it. The skill and creativity of the people that put this all together is amazing!

Beautiful shady individual campgrounds. Some were tricky to reverse into. The bathrooms are a little basic and dates, but the water is plentiful and hot!! Convenient site for day trips into Ottawa city.

  • S McKay

Went for the Christmas lights, was very enjoyable, with a few new settings from previous years. Only downside was poor reception on the recommended Christmas radio station... used our own playlist.

  • Chris Hicks

Great Campground! Hard to believe this place is so close to Ottawa. Sites are large and most are quite private. Amenities are good and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. We'll be back!

  • Kyle Creelman

Great place to take the kids! We go to see the Christmas lights each year and it was exactly as expected, although they seems to have changed the entrance/exit system to improve vehicle flow.

Nice and quiet campsite with lots of private sites available not like most RV sites where it's a parking lot style. Would definitely recommend if looking for a quiet spot close to the city.

  • Suzanne Trudeau

I liked it here! Lots of trees surrounding your site so it feels more private. Clean washroom, shower could use an update. Tons of fireflys in the evening i would definitely go back …

Reallt great campgrounds. Easy to navigate, roads are built well. There are groups of campsites on crescents off the main road so you dont have people driving near you all night! Amazing!

  • Tim “tim.jso” Schatz-Ouellette

Very nice basic campsite, though no activities available and the camp store is lacking. There is "a splash pad" but it's barebones. It's a very nice site though, and will be coming back.

On a trip across Canada, this was by far the most disappointing camping experience. The price for a tenting spot for one night was $50, the most I have paid anywhere on my trip by $15.

  • Natasha LeBlanc

Light show was incredible! Its amazing how creative they use there camping ground in winter! The light had movements that made it even cooler! Plus I taught the price was really fair !

  • Ray Vilis

It's got even better this year. Very enjoyable. Only issue was a official vehicle parked in the are to be used to change back where kids were sitting. It caused a dangerous situation.

Awesome admin staff. Was able to cancel without losing my deposit. I love campgrounds that have flexibility as that’s what RV families need! Highly recommend this Ottawa campground.

Nice display of Christmas lights & decorations on occasions of Christmas day, I visited the park watching the display that express religious symbols - creating an overwhelming view.

The Magic of Lights was amazing! It just keeps getting better and better. The kids really loved the drive through. We had an amazing one hour drive there. Can’t wait to see again!

Camp sites average. No natural light. A lot, and I mean a lot of mosquitoes and white caterpillars. Subpar washrooms. You hear the highway all night and day. Therefore, 2 stars.

  • Lorilee Lester

We stayed July 20-21, 2023 and the washrooms were very dirty. It was close to transit but unsure why the facility would not keep the washrooms clean. Find another place.

  • Gord Langdon

Just spend 3 days at this campsite...lots of hot water..camped here last year twice and no complaints regarding campsite as a whole
Restrooms
Restrooms were ok

Do not book here. Poor or NO maintenance. 1980 campgroung with no refurbishing or updates. Dirty and poor management.
Restrooms
Dity and no maintenance.

Went for Magic of Lights. Beautiful display, but it doesn't last very long. I admire and respect all the work that goes into it, but it could be a bit longer.

  • Nicky Carpenter

Lived the annual Magic of Lights show. Construction did make getting there from Acres Road a bit difficult. Once there, staff was organized and friendly.

  • Patti MacDonald

We visited the Magic of Lights show and it was a magical outing for sure. I would highly recommend it, especially for families with young children.

  • Willi Schneider

Spacious sites, clean. Very loud in the night from nearby highway. Taxi or Uber takes you to Ottawa for a reasonable price. Staff was very polite.

  • Annie Murray

Loved The Magic of Lights! Great evening event for families. Beautiful drive-thru of fantastic Christmas lights.

  • Simran Kundal

Went there for Christmas Lights. Loved the entire experience. Went early on so didn't have to wait in the queue.

  • Harley Mech

Little hard to find spot at dusk, map not quite right. Bit easy after we drove 2nd time. Super help full staff.

  • Ryan R

Magic Lights was great and well worth the wait. Little one loved it! Solid 30 minutes of entertainment.
