I have been here twice, the first time I was referred to them by Indyhumane. They treated me poorly, but examined my dog and identified the issue she was having, so I let it go and decided not to leave a review. I went in today to seek help for my puppies who were very sick. The lady with blondish hair at the front desk was extremely rude about this situation. Instead of being polite and letting me know that they didn’t have enough time to test and possibly start treatment for my pups she simply said that they wouldn’t be able to help. At first she acted as if she was shooing me away without offering any other resources. The lady next to her got up and asked the vet tech if they could at least run a parvo test to see if that may be the reason they are so sick, and instead of asking me any questions she immediately assumed I was an irresponsible pet owner and decided to put her ignorant two cents in and say that I should have brought them in sooner. I went to explain to them that I had just got back from NY where I was visiting my father who was very ill and was cut off by the blond office staff, again telling me that there was nothing they could do and that I would need to take my puppies to an emergency vet. I let her know that I couldn’t afford the emergency vet as that was my first option, and went on to try and explain that I looked on their website at the costs section and that I brought enough money with me in case it was parvo, plus I had care credit. She cut me off after I said I couldn’t afford an emergency vet and told me to just surrender them to Indyhumane and that I couldn’t get another dog for 7 years if it is parvo. So, instead of helping me out by at least offering resources or good advice, this ill mannered receptionist told me to just surrender my puppies. I wouldn’t recommend this place to any pet owner who loves their animal. It isn’t worth the headache or heartache they cause. I would recommend they update their policies to include their ill mannered staff to be polite and courteous to the customers and to show respect to everyone who walks through their doors. That is how a good business is ran, stop treating pet owners poorly! This place is supposed to be here for people like me who can’t afford the high cost of emergency vets, just like others who cannot afford high cost vaccinations.

Disappointed and saddened. After reading the reviews, I anticipated a long wait time. The facility is very overcrowded. The staff does what they can given the patient to staff ratio is extremely high. The wait time was not my problem, it was the vet. A lot if the reviews depict the staff as friendly and welcoming. I did not have the pleasure of experiencing this. Yes, the ladies at the front desk are nice, but the vet came off very ill-mannered as soon as he walked in the room. He gave NO EYE CONTACT when speaking whatsoever. In addition, he told me to pick my dog up and place her on the exam table. I have a pit bull who is not light. On top of that, she was nervous and shaking, so you can imagine it was hard for me to get her on the table. He didn't offer to help pick her up or put her down. He also pushed her away when she tried greeting him and subliminally said she has "questionable behavior", which sent me through the roof. Like any friendly dog, when she likes someone she will jump and try to lick them, but she was in no way coming off aggressive. Like the other dogs in the lobby she was barking BEFORE she got in the room (that's what she does when she wants to play but can't) but the whole time she was in the exam room she was nervous. As a vet I expected more professionalism from him which it's obvious he lacked. He made no attempt to interact with my dog until I finally asked him if he was going to check to see if she was possibly pregnant. He made little effort to make me or my dog feel comfortable or at ease, which is the first time I've experienced this with a LICENSED VET. It made me sad because I have problems enough with people stereotyping my dog because she's a pit bull and he gave a vibe that he could have cared less about her. I understand people have their days but it was my experience with the vet that questions my return.

Very disappointed and unhappy today with W. Michigan St Vet clinic. Today I took my epileptic dog in after she had been exhibiting cluster seizures for several hours before. I was out of her recovery med that breaks up the seizure cycle, all she needed was one injection. That is all. She has a verified, diagnosed history of idiopathic epilepsy, of which this clinic is aware of from previous consultations and my being a prior client, and I had all her meds and info with me. All she needed was the one injection that would break up the seizure cluster...I had the empty vial with me and all the info, as I tried to relay. The two ladies at the counter would not even listen to me and immediately referred me to the emergency clinic on Crawfordsville Rd. which is over $200 just to walk in the door. They literally told me they "didn't have a vet that could help". What? Is this no longer a vet clinic? All she needed was one simple injection, of which I give her at home but had ran out the night before. (So, I wonder who was to provide veterinary care to the 2 dozens or so clients waiting outside with their pets if they had no veterinarian?? ) By the way, the website calendar did *not* indicate that there would be no vet on duty, as they show on Thursdays. My regular vet clinic that treats her epilepsy normally is all the way in Thorntown, and they had told me over the phone just to take her to WMS. I am just very disappointed at the lack of care or compassion I saw today. After referring countless clients to this clinic, driving some of them to the clinic, and being a client myself, I am appalled at the blunt dismissal of my very serious concern. I probably will not return to this clinic, sadly.

I came here a couple weeks ago because I was having issues getting in for a vet appointment anywhere else and my dog had injured her eye. The vets kept recommending that I go to an emergency clinic and there was no way I would be able to afford that. It was great to be able to come on a day I was able to and just wait in line. Walk in only, no appointments. It does take a while waiting in line, but it is worth it. I made friends and had great conversation with the people in front of me and behind me in the line. My dog had an eye injury and I found out that my senior dogs' heart murmur had gotten much worse and she needed x-rays and to be put on heart medication. I'm very thankful Dr. Johnson caught her heart issue even though I didn't come in for that. I didn't feel like he was trying to get more money out of me or recommending things that my dog didn't need. Not to mention, the cost was very very generous. My bill was less than $500 and I got x-rays, eye medication, senior bloodwork, an exam, a radiologist consult and heart medication. This is absolutely unheard of and I am so thankful the staff and doctor there care enough about the animals and people in the community to provide vet services at such a low cost. I work at an animal shelter and I don't make a ton of money or have the means to pay extremely high vet bills for my pets. I would have never been able to afford this quality of care anywhere else. I don't care how long I have to wait or if I have to take a day off work to wait in this line to come here. I will come to this vet clinic from now on where I don't feel like I am being taken advantage of. I am so so so thankful for this clinic. ❤

I absolutely love West Michigan Street Vet Clinic and everyone who works there. The first time I went there was with a stray I had found and was trying to get healthy, initially at another vet clinic. The other vet clinic had done bare minimum at the checkups and not given me a lot of details. It wasn't until I took him here that I got a really clear picture of his health, learning things I had no idea were an issue since the other vet clinic didn't really do any in depth look at him. They were really upfront with me about his health and were really clear where the other vet had not been. Unfortunately, he needed to be put down but they were SUPER nice about the whole process. They gave me as much time as I needed, despite being busy, they were really caring and understanding and made the entire process as easy as they could. And later even sent me a condolences card in the mail. Since then I've taken my dog there for spaying and again, they were really professional and nice, despite my dog being sort of difficult. The wait can be long (I think typically we wait around half an hour in line before doors open and then about ten minutes in line after doors open and maybe forty-five minutes to be seen) and I would recommend getting there at minimum half an hour before the doors open to get a good spot in line, but the wait is 100% worth it for the affordable price and outstanding care you get.

I’ve been coming to this clinic for almost 3 years. I’d give it 5 stars but the last visit, gets 3. The wait is long but it’s cost efficient. $35 to see a doctor. Mondays and Friday’s are the busiest so get there as early as 7:00 -7:30 am. The office people are cool, BUT, I’m not a fan of the male doctor there. He’s not the friendliest guy, not very gentle with the animals, and will not even TRY to calm you cat down if they hiss. I was recently there to get both of my cats looked at. After waiting for over an hour and 15 minutes, after waiting an hour in my car, he comes in and barely looks at my cat because she hissed. He literally said, “I’m not going to be able to look at her if she’s acting like that”, he left out the room and sent in a tech named Holly who was AMAZING. She was way more helpful then him. She calmed my cats down and they even let her touch them. She gave great advice too. He just came in after her, and tried to give his 2 cents and prescribed a $30 medicine and left back out. There use to be a female doctor and she was amazing. I miss her energy so much. But yeah, I’m not sure I’m going back there or not. I don’t have time to be waiting 2 hours for a doctor to be scared of doing what they are suppose to do. You have a great clinic, ditch that doctor and hire one who actually cares about the animals when they are stressed out.

Meh…. Not the best experience. The front desk is snippy even if you are following instructions from another employee. I am completely appreciative what they are trying to do. However I think it can be executed better. In the end the cost was slightly higher than my regular vet charges for X-rays. But in this case I didn’t get a thorough exam or much of an expert opinion. I feel that if you work at it you can find a regular vet clinic and get more thorough care for about the same price. This could be a one off situation. But I don’t know since I’ve never been there before.. If you have a puppy with no vaccines or incomplete vaccines I would suggest another provider. While I was waiting someone came in the back door with a puppy with suspected parvo. I have a puppy at home and am concerned about tracking it home because of the mixing of clients with super contagious illnesses. If you go keep your puppy off the floor. One last thing that needs work is the smell. It’s extremely strong. It makes me question the cleanliness. In the end I will stick with my regular vet. I do think the front desk employees do care about the pets but think they have dealt with a lot of things that make them a little rough around the edges and no nonsense. It can be embarrassing when you are on the other end of it in front of others in the waiting room.

ETA: it's now 9/2023 and I'm never going back there again. I brought my elderly cat in because she had stopped eating and it turned out she had lost a bunch more weight than I thought she had and she weighed only 4.5 lb and they didn't care AT ALL and wouldn't do a single thing for her because I had gone somewhere else eight months previous and they didn't have the records of the tests done at that time. They would not redo any tests and they would not even give an appetite increaser, they just didn't care and wouldn't do a single thing to save her life. If you need vaccines, great. If there's anything else wrong like an elderly cat who won't eat or before that I brought in a pregnant cat who had serious complications (a bunch of bloody opaque fluids came out and she was in pain) and they wouldn't even look at her, if there's anything more complicated than a shot or a spay or neuter, DO NOT WASTE PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY. Because oh yes they absolutely charged me for refusing to do a single thing to save my cat that was so malnourished she couldn't even stand. So I'm just going to have an outstanding bill there forever because there's no way I'm paying them to provide medical neglect. So before I wrote a good review because I had only gone there for the most basic of care. I deleted that.

Horrible customer service. A lady at the front desk gave attitude and had horrible customer care. I get that they may be stressed, but that doesn’t give reason to show poor human decency. Yelled at my mother making her cry under stress. They really need to work on customer care. You won’t see my name in the records, so don’t even bother saying I’m not a customer here for it’s under my mother’s name. Edit for a reply to the manager: ...She did pay, did not refuse, and simply asked about why she was being charged ... And that is absolutely no excuse for the horrible customer service that is seen here. I have brought my other dog here as well, she is a chihuahua and is shy and there is still bad customer service. Front desk workers are rude and just have bad manners. There should be no reason that a young worker is choosing to give attitude to a teen that is asking about anesthesia given. The replies I have seen you give out are pretty passive aggressive as well. I am simply criticizing and reviews are meant for you to better your work place. You should accept them and not be upset about the bad reviews and simply either correct your mistakes or not respond in such a way.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem. This is a low cost clinic (extremely low cost) so where you save on money, you will likely need to pay in time. The front desk staff is SO kind and clearly works so unbelievably hard! Each time I have gone, Dr. Johnson has been the vet. He is very straight forward, however he is also extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. I usually expect to spend 3 hours here - from the time I walk in to the time I have paid and can leave. The pricing here is about 1/3 of a regular by-appointment vet. They are very open about their pricing and you can see majority of their pricing on their website. I am disappointed to see the reviews complaining about the time it takes to be seen here. They are very clearly a high volume, low cost vet. If you are wanting to be seen in a specific amount of time, you should go to a by-appointment vet. Or for the reviews stating they had an emergency and didn't want to wait - by all means please go to a emergency vet clinic! This is not meant to be an emergency vet clinic. The people who work here work extremely hard and see a crazy amount of patients each day. Hats off to all the employees!

Worse vet experience ever. Arrived at 9 a.m. sat and and waited 15 minutes. Staff came out side and stated if you've been here before, only have one pet, and are getting vaccines only will take you now. They took 5 people and their pets in. Waited another 45 minutes, (as expected) Got him all checked in around 10:45. a.m. I then pointed to the dogs issue and told the Dr. the reason we were here. I was told the area needs to be shaved so they can get a clean view.. He advised he would send in a technician.. They asked that I come back at 330... When I returned at 330.. They advised he was sensitive in that area and that he would need to be sedated for an additional fee... They then told me that they could not do it until tomorrow.. I told them I'm very upset because I cannot come back tomorrow.. She carelessly advised at that point that I would need to still pay for the office visit and that she just didn't have time to get to him being that they were so busy. This is a walk in only clinic and there were not that many people ahead of me... My dog left unseen and now no time to have him checked anywhere else.

I usually have a great experience here. But today was definitely not it. My dog was seen here last week for a mass on the back of his leg. I was instructed several times before I left to come back today (a week later) to pull up behind the building, leave my dog in the car and ring the doorbell so he could be examined by the surgeon. Which I did exactly as explained and on time! I ran the doorbell and a lady came and instructed me to wait in my vehicle and someone would be out shortly. I did mention to this lady I hadn’t checked in. I waited for an hour outside in my car before I rang the doorbell again. I waited as long as I did, because I know they are busy, so I was being patient. When I finally got someone back they said I still needed to check in so I go to the front to check in and the lady was super rude and said the surgeon is not taking anymore consultations today. So for their team not to be trained correctly I missed work, and wasted my time and was treated very rudely. If you can afford to go somewhere else, please do.

Brought my dog who has been sick to be treated by West Michigan Vet. Checked website night before coming so I would not run into any problems. However still had an issue arrived a little before 9 just for them to say they wont be doing vaccines or anything medical due to them not having a doctor. Asked how they could accommodate me and was told there was nothing they could do. I took off work to come today because I am concerned about my dog continuously throwing up, woke my child up early to be here and there is no accommodation. I asked if I could be one of the first seen if I come back Friday morning when the doctor returns due to no other vet having any appointments soon and I was told no I would have to wait like everyone else Friday and that the wait is typically longer Fridays. I will not be bringing my dog back here not because of an emergency causing the doctor not to be here but because of the way they handled this complete inconvenience. UNPROFESSIONAL!!

  • Jessica Richardson

I come here for all my pets needs. Today was just awful. I have a sick cat that needed to be seen. The wait was not unusual to me to be seen because they get pretty busy. My cat needed blood work and a X-ray. They didn’t see her for 3 hours. Then held onto her for 2 hours without me being present and would not let me have her despite her needing water, food, or to use the bathroom. The young lady in the front with glasses takes way too long to check people out just because she’s too worried about checking people in. Many people including me expressed our feelings about it taking incredibly too long and she just doesn’t care. She was also the one who told me the blood work would take 30 minutes then kept my cat for almost 2 hours with no answers. I’ve been here for a total of 6 hours with no medication and still needing to be checked out. Definitely will be finding somewhere else.

I love Dr Johnson. He's no nonsense, honest and he's kind. He just seems like an all around good person! All of his staff is great. The techs are awesome. The front desk is polite and helpful. They do an amazing job with dentals, x-rays, everything! Plus they're a fraction of the price of other vets. My old vet was bought out and prices went up but the care my dogs received went downhill. Show up early to sign in, as they're always busy. Bring a book and be patient. They've taken fantastic care of my pups of various sizes/breeds/mutts and ages. I have a few dogs and this establishment makes it so easy to afford any and all care they might need. I've sent several of my friends and clients to them and have never gotten anything but positive feedback. I'm very thankful for this business. They help so many people and animals.

  • Jentura Summerville

The facility was not clean and did not offer the services that where stated on their website. When I contacted them about it I was told they where unaware what was on their website and that they where a fast pace business that didn't have time for that service for every dog. When I asked to speak to a manager or someone that could better help me with my concerns I was told I would have to get a call back. Once I received a call back I was told the doctor spoke with me per their records and he explained the situation. I then explained again to the person on the phone I never spoke with a male doctor and the only person I saw was a female and they did not do anything that you just stated. I them asked to speak to the doctor and was told he was off and would have to call me back.

  • Gretchen Rae

The pricing is phenomenal! Great care, loved how they handled my dogs and were so interactive with them. Very thorough without lots of extra fluff or pressure to get additional products or services. It is walk-in only so plan to wait as they do handle a large number of cases. This is really the only downside at all but it is much nicer and the staff is so much more friendly than at similar I've been to. It is well worth your time for the savings. They will allow you the option to wait in your car with your pet and bring them in around the back if they don't do well around other animals or in that type of situation. Nice clean facility. There is also a little side play room for kids and a "quiet area" for maybe cats and older/more subdued dogs.

  • Maddie Walker

I took my 2 kittens to be vaccinated/dewormed and everyone was so kind and helpful. As a young adult, sometimes navigating these types of experiences can be daunting, but the team of receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions without rushing me. Expect a wait upon arrival, especially in the morning, BUT I absolutely do not mind waiting if I know that my babies are getting the care that they deserve. This clinic is not like many others in the area that seem money hungry. They truly care and are passionate about making sure all animals (and their owners) leave happy and healthy. Thank you West Michigan Street Vet Clinic for a wonderful experience. Definitely take your babies here!!

  • emma M

As much as I can appreciate the work the team does here, there are practices that hinder clients and vets from being able to get care they need in a humane way. Forcing people to wait for over an hour before they can check in because you don't want other people to have time to eat is just rude and time consuming. You should be able to check in upon arrival regardless of when lunch is. I am actively watching it take over an hour for 20+ people who have all been here since noon (before the team goes on lunch). You can not tell me that getting people checked in for the afternoon list up to lunch would not save time for when you get back from lunch. Again. I appreciate the work done, but this is a disrespectful waste of everyone's time

  • Izora Engel

In the past I've had great experiences here however, today I got there at 7:10 and then learned we were very early lol because they didn't open until 9. After they had taken the first round of vaccination patients they came out for regular patients.my dog has a broken leg and I was told I had to have all the emergency vets notes sent to them so I did that. Then the receptionist sent me home without having my dog seen. She said it could take up to 24 hours before a vet will see us, so now I have to take my dog out again in the hopes that they will see her tomorrow. It breaks my heart to see her like this but in the past it's always been exceptional vet care so I'm hoping I get the same outstanding care tomorrow. We will see

  • A B

I took my senior dog here for the first time and I wasn’t impressed with the doctor but the staff was really nice!! . He wasn’t compassionate at all.I feel like vets really don’t care about senior dogs, especially if they’re sick. But, if I had a young dog, I would used them for shots, and that’s it. After reading their review: I have the right to express how I feel about the service the Dr. Provided. My office visit with the Dr. Was about 5mins ( after waiting in line for about 2 1/2 hours. Is that what you consider great service? And yes, you guys do offer senior care package for animals, but not for every senior! It's a certain age. Let like I said before, I would only use this clinic for shots, and that's it!!

  • Jaime Allison

Convenient choice for those who don't have a regular vet or need treatment quicker. This is a walk-in only clinic. No appt. First come/first serve so it's helpful to get there early before the lines build, and it does. They do both vaccinations and pet care: cats and dogs. Expect to wait a little. I was there about three hours, but I got there about an hour before they opened. If you go early, take a chair out so type. When you check in you can leave the pet in the car/it takes in. Your choice. They take your cell number and call you when they are ready to see your pet. They also take care credit for pet needs if you have it. Friendly staff. Lot of nice clients with their pets. Good chats.

  • Connor Vilenio

So grateful for West Michigan Street Vet Clinic providing affordable care for Indy! Not many vets go the low cost model- but it's hard to understate the impact of those that do! We are very happy with the care our two dogs receive. The front desk staff are very helpful and communicative as well! Keep in mind your expectations for low cost vets should be different in terms of operations (ex. No general care appointments, first come first serve, and specific policies to help get more pets seen everyday). But it's all for a good reason and as long as you understand this- there is no reason not to support them! Plus they have deep experience in treating so many more pets each and every day!

  • Ernesto Gonzales

All the Doctors are super caring. Dr. Johnson reminds me of Popeye but the sweetest, nicest, most thorough guy. He has been taking care of our Franco since he was 8 weeks old. We had a puppy that passed earlier this year his name was Laika and the clinic sent us a letter expressing their condolences. When later this year the breeder informed us of a new littler, so we decided to try again. We brought home giant puppy Schnauzer BRUNO. We brought him back to West Michigan Vet for his first check up. First think Doc said was "He is two months you said? Wooh. He is big. Yeah. Wooh. His is going to be real big." LOL!!! Pleased and happy to have this place. Thank you to all the team.

  • Michelle Priest

We had a fantastic experience here today! I was looking for a same day sick visit that wasn’t a true emergency for paying emergency prices. My established office couldn’t see us for four days. It was more urgent than 4 days, and luckily someone recommended this place and warned me that I’d be waiting. Yes, there was waiting, but we were seen by the vet within the 1st hour. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and compassionate (including the others waiting with me!). The prices are fair and lower than any I’ve found. If you can spare the time, which may not be more than 1-2 hours, come here! They will take amazing care of your fur family!!

  • Jessica Daus

Yes, you WILL have a long wait. This is given. BUT for the price and dedication to the animals, you can't go wrong. Just know if you aren't there as soon as the doors open it will probably be 2-4 hour wait, if they say it will be 3 hours it will be 3 hours. But they will call you when it's your turn so you can definitely stay outside with your pet in your car and even leave for a couple of hours and come back. I wouldn't stay out past an hour window though because sometimes people don't wait for their appointment and they may be able to get you in sooner. Long story short.... long wait, great and cheap care.

  • Julie Bruce

It is walk-in only. I like to go early. I spend a little more time than if I had a scheduled appointment elsewhere, but for the money I save, it's worth it. They truly care for animals here. Most of my visits were during the height of covid, so the process was to wait in line outside until they opened, check-in, and go back and wait in your car until they called your phone to come back inside when they had a room ready. This actually works better for me since my dog is reactive to other animals. Anyway, the vet suggested some supplements for my senior dog during our checkup that helped her with her joint pain.

  • Christina Rodriguez

I waited outside for over 2 hours for them just to turn me away and say they could not help. They wrote the wrong Chief complaint down for the reason of me being here, I drove an hour just to get here. I understand this place is less expensive and the quality and customer definitely shows!! I would not bring any of my animals here even if it was free!! All three ladies that I encountered all lack compassion, understanding and empathy!!! If they can talk to me in such a manner I can't even imagine what they would do behind closed doors without me being there with my baby!!!! Please do your research!!!!

  • Urban Hiker

Brought in an older feral Kitty that had been injured and infected and all sorts of stuff. Great from start to finish. They were efficient, kind, and so affordable. I had read earlier reviews, and personally I loved the main vet gentleman and his demeanor. I'm a fan of cut and dry and to the point. He was kind and responsive to Miss Pinky, and informative and detailed with me. In 2016, my 12 year old cat had a problem that couldn't be fixed and this is where she was put to rest. They were Beyond gracious and empathetic. They understand that you don't have to be wealthy to be rich in love.

  • Jamie West

It was very clean and they did really well with social distancing. Be prepared to wait a while since they don’t do appointments. It does look a little rough on the outside but inside it’s nice. I brought work with me to do in my car and my cat and I were ok with the wait. FYI the public bathroom is closed but you may be able to use the gas station restroom. The vet was very nice and worked well with my cat. She explained everything and when I followed up with more questions via email I got a timely response. It was also very affordable. They went above and beyond with the care for my cat.

  • Forever Feline

I love Doc Johnson, he’s wonderful with cats. There is one big drawback to this business-THEY ARE JAMMED ALL THE TIME. I will tell you it’s bc they are affordable, don’t play games, they move as fast as they can to do the job right and they don’t screw pet owners into a lot of stuff they don’t need and/or can’t afford. That’s why I give ‘em a five. They are first come first served. So you best be first if you can’t wait. Usually I wait at least 2 hours every time I go bcz I am never first in line. But that is on me, not WMVC.I am glad they are here. They never misdiagnosed any of my cases.

  • Sarah Rice

False leading advertising. I am looking for compassion vet for euthanize costs. This sweet feral cat had been sick since Thanksgiving (skinny, coughing, blister on back). I called them and really like their service costs $35 in person then $50 for euthanize cat ($85 total). I didn’t realized there is a hidden fee in my face when I got there. I must pay $175 first for bloodwork test and etcs then final step to do euthanize agreement. Which means $35 in person + $50 euthanize costs + $175 bloodwork is total $260. That is not compassion vet, false advertising. Do not go there! One star ⭐️

My daughter took her dog to this VET today and the experience left her in TEARS. When I called to get there side of the story...I was told they could not discuss it with me since I am not on the account. So, before you allow a loved one to trust this garbage management team with your animals just remember they do not GAF about you, Just how are they getting paid. I would have paid the entire bill..(and will be at another vet) if they would have just had the ability to communicate the issues with me. To bad I cannot leave negative stars...Holly, this review is for YOU!

  • Gordon Carpenter

I needed a vet that had walk-in appointments as my regular vet could not see me for over 2 weeks. The front end staff was friendly and great to work with. The office was clean nothing fancy, who wants to pay for fancy. That’s why the fee is half the price of my vet. The vet was great to my poor puppy and very knowledgeable and hands-on. A little farther than what I wanted but I will be back with all 3 of my dogs. Thanks for making MoJo better. So if you are looking for a great vet look no farther.... this is the place.

  • S Lovelace

This is a low cost vet clinic that is first come first serve. The do not do appointments. The staff is friendly and caring. I have not had a bad experience here and we have been coming here for over 10 years. They also have great prices on flea and tick meds for cats and dogs. They are really good about keeping their website update with any restrictions and they also posts updates on sign outside. Don't be surprised if they tell you to go get a mask even if you just want to pick up meds.

  • James Farris

Staff was very friendly, part of why my late mother loved this place. Took one of her babies in to be laid to rest as she was in pain from cancer and probably some heart issues. And it was to much for me to bare so they stayed with Cuddles the entire time as I just couldn't do it. The price was the best price in town along with the choices they gave you for the ashes to be put in. I wanna personally thank the staff for their help and assistance in this hard time. ❤

  • Sayra Campos

The prices are great! I have been seeing the vet here since before he had this clinic, back since his Hawthorne days. The only thing is, you it’s a walk in only clinic so you have to have time and patience as the total wait time from getting in line and getting checked out Can range from 1-3hrs. But you can wait in your car and they call you. I recommend arriving at 8:30am if you want to be seen a little faster, they open at 9 but the line starts forming early!

  • Randy “SatyrMoon” Nara

Ive noticed there are quite a few reviews that are bashing the vet for simply being busy. When, in reality, it should be appreciated on how busy they are. The place is great, and i drive half an hour and past at least 3 vets because i trust his place more than others. And ive looked around; their pricing really cant be beat. I cant imagine how they stay afloat being half the price of just about any other option. Truly a vet worthy of praise and respect!

  • Kennedy Ormsby

I love this vet! I took both my cats here on multiple occasions, and have had no issues whatsoever. The employees are always super nice and the price is unbeatable. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the doctor is always in a hurry and sometimes doesn’t stay around for you to ask questions. That can be a little frustrating, but not make or break! Overall a great experience. Sometimes the wait is long, but for the price, it’s worth it!

  • Kim Luke

I took Jessica Simpson aka Jessie in for her 1st shots. We were seen by Dr. Haney. She was awesome. From now on I will request her. It's really hard trusting someone to take care of your furry family members. I will definitely take my other dogs to this place. I also have to include all the other staff members. Everyone seemed happy to be there vs just being there for a job. Plus the prices were crazy cheap! They have a client for life!

  • Heather Ratcliff

I went there because my sweet fur baby cat Mavis was sick and ended up having to put her to sleep unexpectedly. The staff was compassionate, kind, and caring. They explained the whole process with gentle detail. They helped me pick out a beautiful wooden box for her ashes and gave me extra time to spend with her in the exam room. I can not express how much that all meant to us. Thank you for handling us with such love and respect.

  • Laurie

Dr. Johnson, as always is first class! Knowledge, friendly & efficient. My only issue is I arrived at 9:22am & didn't get in the building till 10:55am. I, along with the long line of people waited outside in 37゚weather the whole time. I simply don't know why the check in process takes that long. You'd think, especially when it's cold outside they would have any & all persons do check ins so at least people can sit in their car.

  • Jessy Hernandez-Nguyen

I posted a review Wednesday of my treatment and experience with this clinic, and had to come back today to get my dog reseen and scheduled for surgery. They take him back and come back out and give me an estimate for surgery, but then also proceed to tell me they WILL NOT work on my dog if I don’t take down my previous Google review. This place is a JOKE!!! Very unprofessional, & poor management. Do not go here.

  • Debra Williams

My first time at this clinic and although the wait time was a bit long, it was well worth the wait. I found.the staff to be knowledgeable, patient, and very professional. This place was very busy, but I tell you those ladies at the front desk didn't miss a beat. You could tell the staff as a whole, worked together as a team and cared about the service they were providing. I would highly recommend this facility.

  • Julie Bauschardt

I had to bring my sweet 15 year old cat Vai in today for euthanasia and I was so comforted by how everyone there was so lovely and kind. I was so worried it would be an impersonal, cold sort of thing but I’m so glad I was wrong. A massive shout-out to Holly, who made this so much more bearable for me and my husband ♥️ She was so patient and understanding with us in such a terrible circumstance.

  • Patrick Reynolds

This clinic is amazing. They are low cost and always friendly. I have never had a bad experience here. When I go in I expect a wait due to the super low cost. I am always friendly to the staff as I appreciate what they do for the community and they always reciprocate. I wish there were less predatory vets in Indy and more establishments like this! Thank you West Michigan Street Vet Clinic!

  • LoriAnn Guilder

Everyone here was very nice. The doctor was great! She was kind and honest. Their prices were very reasonable. My puppy is 13 years old and they treated him perfectly! The only "draw back" was the wait. I stood in line for @ 2.5 hours then waited to be seen, the waited for results..I spent 4-4.5 hours there. But? When Noone else could get him in...they did. Very grateful for this clinic.

  • Christi Rainwater

The people are sweethearts. They treat your pet as a family member . They are inexpensive if you keep them up to date on vaccines. I had 2 cats that were 10 and 11 years old. They started having cancer where there quality of life was poor. I chose to not let them suffer anymore. The staff was very supportive and let me spend time with them after. Wouldn’t take my babies anywhere else.

  • Wendi McCullough

I had to have my pet who goes here to sleep and called way to many times, left message after message and never got a call back. Where is the compassion. Had to go to another place, which took a week to find, by then my cat was in so much pain and misery. I just don't understand. They don't really care and that's sad. I will b taking my other animals some where else from now on. So sad

  • Rachel Engelmann

Seriously THE BEST staff. I cannot praise them enough. I've been bringing my cats here for years. They care about you and your pets and the staff is VERY knowledgeable. They have a great COVID response and took great care of my kitties even in a pandemic. Very compassionate people and I would recommend them to ANYONE. Their prices are extremely reasonable. Love love love this place.

  • Marissa Maggart

The first person I spoke to made me feel EXTREMELY judged, guilty, and just horrible because I hadn't had my cat seen in a year (the Dr ended up saying the exact same thing the last vet said: to just monitor him) but the techs and the doctor were all fantastic, very understanding, and actually got my baby the treatment he's needed so bad and for half the price of my usual vet

  • eyedeal ohtwo

I’ve been twice with my pup for her vaccines and I would go here again if I just had more time than money. It’s a great value and I’m super glad it’s available for folks who can’t pay the higher prices at other vets. But the wait…wow. I really like the staff. They work under challenging conditions but remain kind and professional. More than I would in their shoes, honestly!

  • Ginger Aguilar

Yes, you will wait awhile until your furbaby can be seen that day. But, when it's walk in appointments only, it's understandable. They truly do care, and they move as quickly as possible. They are very upfront with the cost of treatment, and very reasonable as well. Thank them and tell them they are all doing great, and that you appreciate them being there for your furbaby.

  • Jacob Hash

I took a cat dying of kidney failure, and a dog dying of heart worms for end of life care here. They were so good to us, and helped us get extra time with our pets. When the time came they were so helpful and caring that I recommend them to everyone. It's a extremely busy place so you should plan to get there as early as possible, and plan to spend at least 4 hours there.

  • Sarah Todd

Everyone was helpful and patient even though it was super busy. It's also helpful that it's a walk in clinic if you need anything done same day. They check you in at the desk inside and then have you wait in your car and call you when it's your turn. Wait times vary depending on how busy they are. Great place to go though, everyone was kind and knowledgeable!

I've brought my pets here for several years. The vets and staff are very knowledgeable, caring and kind! This is the only vet clinic I will bring my fur kids to. Sometimes, you may have a wait but, it's well worth it. They have very reasonable prices. I would recommend this place to anyone, you can't go wrong in choosing them for your pets needs.

  • Moriah Barnes

Worst place I took an animal ever! My daughters puppy had parvo. They wouldnt treat her puppy over a clean up fee. She had barely came up with the money for the treatment but was short the $50 clean up fee. So they let her puppy die!!!! Wouldnt even do a payment plan for 50 bucks till friday. That's 2 days!!! The staff was rude and very hateful!!!

  • Lisa Massey

Wonderful vets & staff. Nothing fancy here, but solid veterinary care. One of the most affordable vet options around provided by caring competent staff. The staff is busy, like super busy, so they don't have tons of time to chat, but they are still pleasant & friendly. It's first come, first serve, so waits can be long, so plan accordingly.

  • One Chance wizard

Reasonable prices, However there checkin process is the worst I have ever seen. They have wait out side to checkin for an hour. Then another hour or so outside in 90 to 100 degree weather waiting for your turn. Most of the dogs are whining and stressed. I do not feel they were concerned at all over the stressed animals. Dr is very rude.

  • Courtney Scott

The actual Vets were nice. The front staff are rude, ghetto, and uneducated. Don’t waste your time going here. They also make you wait in long lines in order to retrieve your animal’s remains, even you called in advance because it was all so traumatic. Even though they assured you that there would be no wait. Go anywhere else.

  • Sandy W

Hate the wait but CANNOT complain about the care and price. Wonderful vets and staff. I have taken all my pets and a few strays here for years!! Thank you West Michigan Street Vets!!! And they have changed their hours to a point that it’s nearly impossible for a working person to take their pets to have regular vaccinations.

  • Candase Eaton

We had to say goodbye to our fur baby of 14yrs. The entire staff surrounded us with love and support. When we picked up Bugsy’s ashes the whole building went silent. People we didn’t even know offered condolences. Some even gave hugs. My husband, myself and our other 2 fur babies will forever be great full to the staff.

  • Sydney S

If you're looking for a low cost place to take your four legged baby, this is the place. The doctors, techs and front desk are all super helpful and caring. The only downside is the wait time. This clinic is a first come, first serve only facility (unless there's a procedure) and sometimes that wait can be all day.

  • Donnalee Brooking

two years ago, we took our kitten to get shots and neutered, and everyone at the clinic was so friendly and helpful and kind to all the animals. i was very impressed, and too broke to pay full price anywhere else. Now we have a rescue dog, and we are taking him in tomorrow. I'm expecting a very positive visit!

  • Christopher Dewitt

Always super friendly even though they see over a hundred patients a day. They also don't try to push products or services on you unless required. The only negative isn't really a fixable thing...super long wait due to the amount of patients seen. Overall a great place to take care of your furry friends.

  • Joseph Morehead

brought in a dying cat, only for the staff to act incredibly rude and unhelpful, baffling me and the others i was with. ended up having to surrender him to the shelter because there was nowhere else we could go. avoid this place if your animal is having any kind of emergency -- they will let it die.

  • Corinthian Walker

I thought staff was going to be rude since it's an almost free veterinarian clinic but staff was great.... timing was perfect I was there less than an hour....even tho it was 30 min from me the drive was worth it....but bring your own mask lol there's is a dollar and it's a must you have them!!!!

  • Lana Wallace

Dr. Johnson is the best Vet in the world but worker in the clinic, they shut the doors on me twice and when to lunch and made me wait until they finished eat lunching, my paperwork was given to the front desk before lunch hour, they didn't care that I had too get back to work or loose my job.

  • Imari Sims

I will have to say I don't care how long you have to wait to get your dog in, Michelle and Carla (the two young ladies at the desk) is the most fantastic employees I've ever met they are so so professional and so loving caring patient compassionate and great. You both deserve a fat raise. Lol

  • Teresa Blankenship

I took my grand cat Fluff Norris to West Michigan Street Veterinarian Clinic today and I'm very impressed with the service he received and the customer service I received. I'll definitely be using this clinic in the future... Thank you to all of you for your great service. Sincerely, Teresa

  • Dee Majors

I had my doubts because of the area but this office is amazing! Their focus is your pet, the service is impeccable and the customer service is top notch. I have found my new Vet home, for life! Thanks so much for how you handled our little Biscuit and the way you treated his humans.

  • Dorothy Jones

The wait to check in was pretty long but considering how many people were in front of us it was very streamlined! My girl Autumn had an abscess and the vet was very quick but patient with her as she was really scared! The price was very low and the staff were nice! Thanks guys!

  • Cierra

Be prepared to be there for at least 2 hours. You can't beat the vaccine prices. $10 for shots and dewormer is free if getting shots too. They also carry Revolution which is safe to give to puppies at least 6 weeks old. It stays very busy most of the time so expect long waits.

  • Rachael Sharp

It’s not much to look and it was VERY busy, but I can see why! The staff were professional and excellent value for the low price tag. When every other low cost clinic has a two month wait list, this place offers walk in appointments! Excellent prices of pet meds too!

  • Adam King

Decent pricing. Not a person's best choice if they're extremely low on cash, but not so expensive you can't save up for it. The staff are wonderful and handled my extra large breed dog very well despite how rambunctious he can be. Will definitely be going here again.

  • Andy

I like the walk-in at any time. They're hours have been updated. Masks not required anymore so overall it has good service for a affordable and public pet clinic. Everyone shows up here so cut em some slack but if you want faster attendance show up early.

  • Kristen Tjaden

Excellent care and reasonable prices. Be prepared for a 2-3 hour wait in your car. I visited for an urgent issue that my regular vet couldn't see quickly. I would definitely come back if I can't get in to our regular vet, as well as for preventative meds.

  • Rachel S

This is honestly the fairest vet in Indianapolis. I promise you you will not get this level of care for these prices anywhere else. It is located in a bit of a sketchy area of Indy, but it is absolutely worth your time and your pets will love you for it.

  • cole carter

I absolutely love this vets office the are so help and sweet to my pups. Dr.Johnson is very knowledgeable. Paige at checkout was very helpful and you could really tell she cares about the pets! Such a great office wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else!

  • J Tabor

They were friendly, caring and professional. There were long wait, but I engaged in conservations with other people owner which is always a plus. Price very affordable! Glad I found this place. Walk-ins only, no appointments needed. …

  • Noelia F

The staff is very good, they don't have plan payments, you have to pay full amount at that day .The line was too long but they are trying to attend as fast as as possible . Thanks . They speak Spanish too. I saw the sign for payment plans.

  • Jackie Black

1 st visit. Staff was informative and pet friendly. Got what I asked for. Got there at 7 am as they started lining up. The heart worm plus meds were a bit high, but you have the option of getting the prescription sent to other Retailers.

  • suga snaxxx

It's a first come first served place ... People lined up outside by 730 am ... It was cold , but worth the wait... Once inside the docs moved quickly and efficiently ! I will never go anywhere else! They are the best vets in town!!

  • Michell Adams

You can definitely tell they JUST love animals! The way it should be! Very low cost services. A surgery that we consulted 3 clinics on, was over $1,000 less here! Lobby was clean and odor free. Desk staff were friendly and helpful.

  • luis ibanez

Every staff member is great!!! They are so busy I had to wait 3 hours before my pet got her vaccinations. 10 dollars for first puppy vaccines. Si please be kind to this hard working people. They make a difference in our community.

  • Papi Schwa

Yes you will have to wait patiently, but the staff was absolutely amazing with keeping me informed and walking me through the process. I had never been before but would not hesitate for 1 second to return when the time comes.

  • Lauren English

We love Dr. J, but he was on vacation this time... Dr. Brooke was covering, and she was awesome! She was patient and kind to my two girls who have been sick. The desk staff is caring. The price was affordable. Thank you guys!

  • John Black

Long wait. Plan to wait 1 hour before even GETTING a CHANCE at getting an appointment. If your dog is dying not hear you need to plan in advance but they can help either way. Amazing price for care. Ty for helping my cotton!

  • Erin Whitlow

Omg. Staff ain't on the same wave length page whatever. If u can't operate functional u just can't operate and work flow easy. This place is a mess far as staff. Cheap? Maybe, if so I guess u get your money's worth... …

  • Greg

Get there early and be prepared to wait in your car for hours. Since moving to Indy, I haven't yet found a regular vet. So, when my baby girl was sick, West Michigan was the best choice for us. The staff was professional.

  • Aamina S

It was great! The prices are wonderful and very affordable. The service was lovely. They genuinely seem to enjoy their job and care for your pet. I will definitely be sticking with them for my pets. 100% recommend!

  • April Allgood

The theory of what they do is nice. But it's obvious they are overwhelmed and we're just a number like so many others. I feel sorry for the people that work at vets and the people that have to go to them for help

  • Bernardo Arias

Such a great clinic. Sure you have to wait in line to be seen but the cost and service is worth it. I've taken all 6 of my dogs here for standard visits and different surgeries and they all came out fantastic

  • Wenmike Nobles

The staff are nice! One thing..I thought I couldn't pick up my German Shepherd to lift her on the table, I got no help and they left out until I told them I finally had gotten her on the table. That was rude

  • Denise Beard

Walk in only. Long lines, but within t 2.5-3 hours we had checked in, got shots and on our way for our 4 dogs. Staff handled the crowd quite well and they see a lot of pets. Quite happy with the experience.

  • Deidra Loyd

They always take care of my Lulu. The prices are reasonable and they keep it pretty clean. The staff is always nice. However, I find the male vet to be a little cold with a somewhat dry bedside manner.

  • Lorrie Noble

Even during the covid pandemic..they had there stuff together. My dog "BaBe" that doesn't take kindly too strange men..was comfortable and obedient with them. Low cost and very pleased. Thanks too all!

  • Tamara Myers

Really appreciated the care and compassion shown when Bandit died. They returned his ashes in a nice box with a velvet bag. My mother received sympathy cards from their office today. Very touching.

  • Karin Coe

I love Dr. Johnson and his staff! It is a walk-in office but to me it's worth the time! He sees all 3 of my dogs and my new kitten. Trusting your vet is as important as trusting your own Doctor!

  • Darrell Eaglen

I'm always very happy with the care my Poppy receives here I wouldn't want to take her anywhere else The staff are on top of every situation Thanks for being there for us PS The prices are fair
