I’ve had multiple wonderful experiences at this business. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and they never try to rip you off! The first time I went in I needed help getting a couple charms on a necklace. They did it in minutes and didn’t charge me a thing! I most recently went in to get some earrings reset due to a reaction I was having when wearing them. They walked me through a variety of options and recommend I give them a really good cleaning and come back in two weeks if the earrings still hurt. The owner cleaned them up for me and sent me on my way without charging anything again! Just goes to show how lovely they treat their clientele. My other family members have come to this business over the years and love it. If you’re looking for a wonderful small business that will take good care of you then this is the place!

Took my Baume Mercier to Bock for new battery. They told me they could not do it for lacking the equipment to open the back and recommended that I go to a repair shop on Post St. At the Post St shop, they informed me that the back, the crown and the gasket inside had been damaged. There were scratch marks indicating attempt (s) to open the back. Their verdict was that the watch, even repaired, will NOT be waterproof.any more. I have not worn the watch for months because I have many others. From my simple deduction, I have to assume that the damage was done by Bock. For that reason, I will never go there again though I have gotten batteries many times previously. I am highly suspicious that they tried to forcibly open without the proper equipment. My partner and I went here to get a custom wedding band designed. We wanted to have it fit tightly into the engagement ring, and wanted diamonds that would complement but not overpower the Moissanite engagement ring. Tina and Andy listened to my wife's input and iterated a few times, giving advice but still listening to what we were going for. We spent about 90 minutes over two days with Tina and Andy sketching various designs. They are both clearly experienced jewelers and their advice was so valuable in making the right wedding band. In addition, they were very respectful of the budget we had and gave a few options for reducing the cost. Overall, my only regret is not coming here for the engagement ring, too!

This is a local-owned, family-operated business with a rich history of working in SF. The owners are always manning the store themselves, and have many years of experience in the industry. They're kind, honest, and quick. I came in to have stones set for 2 pairs of earrings. They were open about their price, and the time required (I was in no rush, and they did mine in 3 days. When I first called, they immediately assumed I wanted them done by the next day). All that being said, the price is a teensy bit higher than other places, but I think the small premium is worth knowing that the owner (who does the work himself) is giving you his own labour and guarantee. The owners that I spoke with were both very friendly and helpful. I believe the owners name is Andy, and he was very helpful and provided excellent service even taking extra time to answer all my questions in a helpful way. This place provides quality service and fair prices. I went here for something small but saw that this is a place I can trust. I will be coming back with a couple other pieces that need work done. Overall an excellent experience and I would recommend coming here for anything relating to jewelry.

I came here for a replacement clasp for my 24k chain. The husband told me a replacement clasp was $175. see attached photo. Weight is one gram. I know the price of gold (I check daily) and 1gram is $57 The replacement piece he was offering was smaller than mine. So the $175 price he was offering was extortionate. Maybe customers around here can be hustled for these prices. But I know my gold pricing. Beware of this jewelry store. Most diamonds are SI diamonds and gold is only 10k or 14k. Prices are made up.

Me and my fiancé went in looking and left with a beautiful one of a kind piece- a raw clustered blue sapphire, crested in diamonds ring. A striking token of love to symbolize our relationship. Hands down expertise and friendly ness. I had to get it sized which only took two days, so I returned with my daughter and the owner gave her a special box and candy. The best customer service and down to earth people- a rarity to find self owned and operated business with knowledge and respect

The shady business practices this “mom and pop” jewelry shop does, i wouldn’t even recommend it to my worst enemy. The passive aggressive husband that thinks he knows everything about gold but gets defensive when you also know your stuff. They are capitalizing on uneducated jewelry owners that need repairs to their gold jewelry. I would highly discourage patronizing this jewelry Business unless you like to get ripped off. Know before you go!!!

I had an expensive gem stone ring re-sized and earrings changed from clips to posts. Both results were beautiful and there is no evidence of the changes. The prices were very reasonable. An older watch needed some parts replaced and originals were no longer available. It works perfectly now after setting untouched for several years. I am extremely pleased and will continue to be a loyal customer.

Great selection if you're buying, or just need to have your battery changed. I thought my battery was dead, turns out the manufacturer didn't seal the back properly and all I had was a rusted-out, diamond-studded piece of sheet. Point is: I wouldn't have found this out without my knowledgeable friends at West Portal Jewellers. Thankee.

Such a wonderful place. The owners are very kind and friendly. I felt that they took their time to listen to what I was looking for and advised me accordingly. In the end, I was told that I didn't need a new clasp for my necklace. A repair was made for me instead, free of charge. I will definitely return.

I went to West Portal Jewelers for the first time to get my watch battery replaced and miscellaneous jewelry fixed. Everything I brought in was fixed in no time by the sweet lady working in the shop. I even left with a pretty pair of new earrings. I will be returning for more.

I went in to get my old watch adjusted, great service. Tina was very nice and helpful and shout out to Andy. He realized my battery didn’t work and replaced it as well as adjusted my watch. 10 out 10 would recommend and I’ll be going there for my jewelry needs in the future

I went there to have one watch, the wristband repaired and the other a battery changed. The lady was very helpful and managed to fix the watch and replace the battery. Nice selection of jewelry as well. Recommend it.
