Upon visiting Westside Dental for a crown and filling on July 22, 2021, I was treated rudely and maliciously by several members of the staff, to include the dentist himself, his assistant, and the receptionist who handled my finances and post-op treatment. I came for a crown and a filling that quickly turned into a prospected root canal. I was proscribed a root canal despite never having any pain or visible damage to my tooth (even by way of X-ray as the dentist himself admitted!). In the process of his botched work, the dentist sawed my tooth down to a nub, the discomfort of which I can still feel to this day (5 months later). During the process, he failed to properly anesthetize me so I felt an inordinate amount of the painful administering of the procedure. Once he abruptly left the procedure claiming that I needed to get my root canal done elsewhere (even though the WSD website claims to perform root canals), I was mishandled by his assistant. She rudely and tersely shuffled me out of the operating room responding to all of my inquiries abruptly and dismissively. Furthermore, she failed to administer an adequate amount of oxygen to help restore me to a clear mind state after the anesthesia had left me lightheaded. When I closed things out with the receptionist upfront, she also handled all of my questions abruptly, rudely and dismissively. I could say that I got the strong sensation that I was just another number to be processed and pushed out, but that would be an understatement. The treatment felt intentional, punitive and malicious. As an over 10 year customer of Westside Dental I was shocked and appalled as it took me by utter surprise.  I have since found a much more conscientious dentist who handles her work with much more care and professionalism. But I'm still now forced into a position where I only have half the tooth I once had and may need to get a root canal after all—one that Westside Dental induced!

This dentistry is the only dentistry I have ever been to that caused me to get a ROOT CANAL procedure! Long story short, I came in for a cavity filling recommended by one of the dentist at the location. After the cavity filling, the tooth I had work on was hurting every time I eat. I went back to the dentistry to see the same dentist two weeks later. She did a little work thinking that it is only the bite that is causing the pain. Two weeks later the pain got tremendously worst! Unfortunately, this week was July 4th and I was going to Philadelphia and New York. Before the trip the tooth was still hurting but no where near as much. It wasn't until the day I got on the plane for the trip did it hurt ridiculously. Every time I ate, and definitely when I ate hot food, the tooth with the filling done was in TREMENDOUS pain. I had to go to an emergency dentistry at Philadelphia. To sum it up, the dentist in Philly and the new dentist I am going to now both said that the filling for the cavity was too deep and that it caused inflammation in the tooth. Well, now the nerve in that tooth is dead, and I had to go get a root canal. Thank you so much for ruining my July 4th vacation and costing me an extra $800 for the root canal procedure and the crown. Thank you so much!

Because I run my own medical practice, I believe I know a quality medical facility when I visit one, especially if I an visiting as a patient myself. Dr. Michael Rouhana , owner of Westside Dental Group, operates one of the best medical practices, of any type, in the New Orleans metro area. His office is impeccably clean, yet remains comfortable and inviting for patients of all age groups. I have been seeing Dr. Rouhana for approximately two years, and, invariably, my appointments run on time, without complication, and everyone I encounter exhibits a high level of professionalism and knowledge. It should be noted that patients from all over Louisiana, and particularly the North Shore, drive in to see Dr. Rouhana despite having access to dental care that is much closer to their home. I think this fact speaks volumes about Dr. Rouhana and his office staff. It is rare that I am able to take the time to share my experience about services I have received. However, the consistent, timely delivery of high quality dental care from Dr. Rouhana simply must be shared with others who are looking for a better option. I am sure you will be as impressed as I have been.

Growing up for me did not involve regular dentist visits. My parents did not prioritize dental appts but I elected to change that way of thinking and chose west side as my dentist and have not regretted it. Being afraid, uncertain, or worried went right out the window when I entered the building. The staff is welcoming, always upbeat and friendly, and they go out of their way to make sure you are cared for and all of your concerns are met in a way that makes you comfortable. I have absolutely loved going to the dentist now and look forward to my appts! I’m so grateful for them and hopefully my review helps anyone who is putting off going because they have neglected their dental care or are simply afraid as was the case for my parents. Being afraid will never change any issues but confronting them now instead of later is the best advice I can give. West side staff are there for you and will get you back on track for sure. I've been going to Dr. Rouhana at the Westside Dental Group for the last 5 years and every experience has been great. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see a hygienist and Dr. Rouhana is always quick to get me in if there's an issue that needs immediate attention. All of the hygienists are careful and friendly. I really appreciate Dr. Rouhana's attention to detail and his practical approach to keeping my mouth healthy. Their office is very clean and nicely decorated. They are often open late and open on certain Saturdays which is great for my busy work schedule. When I'm in town during the week, my office is in the CBD so it only takes 10 minutes for me to get there and everyone I work with now goes to Westside. From minor cosmetic work to root canals, Westside Dental group has been able to do everything I need quickly and affordably. I would highly recommend Westside Dental Group to my friends and family.

Just left Westside Dental Group. I am a new patient looking for a dentist to maintain my dental health. Upon arrival, the building was visually appealing, I was greeted as I entered and the process was stress free. The dental tech was very attentive in taking my x-rays, making sure I was comfortable the whole time and slowing down if I needed a break. Dr Rouhanna also had great bedside manner, and was able to explain everything to me clearly. I even asked if there were things he could do, and he told me it wasn’t necessary, which is a good sign, since some dentists will love to add procedures to pad a bill. I already scheduled my return visit, and can see myself going here for years to come!

I was referred to Westside Dental by a family member and I must say my experience was wonderful. The office staff were VERY courteous and helpful. I had been avoiding the dentist because I would get extremely nervous about dental visits but the care I received was outstanding. I arrived 20 minutes early for the visit and met with the dentist right on time. The cleaning was easy and painless and so were the fillings that I had. They were very helpful in assuring me that I would be okay. I will be returning for a follow up visit in a few months

This was my first time going to Westside Dental Group. My hygienist (Lauren) did such a great job with me! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the Dentist was very nice, informative, honest and straight forward. I’ve been seeing Dr. Rouhana for years. The office is so nice and clean and the staff is so incredibly friendly and personable. I would, and do, recommend westside dental group to everyone. We’ve recently moved much further away but I will for sure continue going here. Wide variety of insurances are accepted, we’ve switched multiple times through our employers and have never had a problem.

I needed an appointment and they didn’t have any open appointments until March 2024. I got on a waiting list for an earlier appointment. Because of my random and busy schedule, they ended up calling me four times before I was able to accept an appointment. Of course when I arrived, everyone was so professional and nice. My hygienist was thorough and gentle. I love these people!!

I have never waited more than one minute in the reception area. I have been a patient here for years; it is run like a well oiled machine. Dr. Rouhana is both a doctor and an artist. the staff are not that professional , she forgot to marked us down on 3:20 appointment , we wait till 3:50 then she call us, i ask why so late cause back up, she said yes, but we found out cause she did not marked us down when we arrived. Also she said accident do happen and not one word say Sorry to us, very unprofessional .
