Just wanted to give all you east sides a heads up. My daughter is a lifeguard at Willard Pool. Today another lifeguard there tested positive for COVID-19. The last time that guard worked was on 7/16. The city’s response to this news is to keep the pool open and NOT require any of the employees of the pool to be tested. I’ve tried calling the mayor’s action line, but will not be able to get through until Monday. Just wanted to let everyone know so you can make an informed decision before going to that pool. P.S. I assume the city is handling all the Indy Parks pools in this manner.

The park has changed alot over the years. I was disappointed in the fact that they took the tables out. Because of the homeless people. With that being so. I had an excellent time in the park. I do not want park officials to get it twisted. What I just said. I know how trouble is often found and or created by these people. I also know that because you are doing alittle better. So you think. Than they are. You need to remember that our economy is such that we all can just blink our eyes and find ourself. Just where they are. Enough said.

The brand new skatepark nicknamed Ebobs (opened in June 2022) is incredible. The designer/builder, Hunger Skateparks, created an amazing bowl and street course filled with ledges, flat bars, banks and more. Skateboarders will love skating here. The granite ledges in particular are my favorite part. They were upcycled from renovations at the Marion County City County building downtown. For those who are wondering, the skatepark does not have lights and closes at dusk. Helmets and padding are optional. It is free to all.

Nice park, if u can get past the tampons & chore boy thrown on the playground area...... Homless/Addicts sleeping/slumped on a nod all over the place, and trash just thrown down instead of walking 2 steps to drop it in the trash can. Pool is only open 3 weeks of the summer, and that's only if they can get anyone to lifeguard then. It's very sad‍♀️ they have to remove the damn picnic tables so they don't abuse the common area ☠️

This would probably get 4 ⭐'s, if the Aquatic Center was open, with its spray devices and swimming pool. But it was closed on my last visit (June 2023) ‍♀️ Otherwise: * Skateboard sub-park * 1½ baketball courts * Playground area with slides
Playground
Slide playground for younger kids.
Dog-friendliness
Pretty good, but pet cleanup will be mandatory.
Picnic area
Sure, either on grass or benches.

I like visiting Willard for the Skatepark. It is fun, has amazing flow, and some really good granite ledges. Park is less than two years old. There are a lot of kids running around and I have seen some hood activity go down here. Overall it is a must visit for any skateboarding enthusiast. Make sure you supervise your children here.

Nice park to go to but I've found several items which aren't safe for kids on the park premises. Good to go to during the day. I've seen homeless people sleeping in the bushes over towards the fire station. Be careful when walking through the grass, there may be potholes. Be safe and always keep your kids in sight.

  • Dylane Russell

I stumbled upon this part by accident but I'm happy I did it was a great place to go sit and clear my head not so much of a big part but still big enough to relax and enjoy yourself and let your children run around and keep an eye on them friendly people friendly area that's lost to do around the area as well

  • Maaeish Holness

I like this ️ park, would recommend it to anyone who wants to hang out and have fun with friends and family. Or have a picnic.
Playground
Soccer ⚽ field available. Skateboard area . Basketball court available.
Dog-friendliness
Nice place to have a picnic and to take your dog

  • Barbara Van Vleet

The walking trail around the park is beautifully maintained. The playground equipment is tucked into tiny hills and valleys for a multi-level experience. The basketball courts are in great shape and used frequently. My only criticism is the traffic noise from E. Washington St. Which is a busy 4 lane road.

  • Solomon

Skatepark was a lot of fun, The concrete was smooth so it was easy to power slide and fall without getting hurt. It might have been a little too smooth though as it was hard to gain speed without the assistance of a ramp. 5 stars it was large and fun with a pleasant community.

  • Amy Karns

Really good part has basketball courts and lots for a toddler or middle school age child to do there is also a pool that is only open for maybe one month during the summer and there is waterspouts to play in it's a very big and private park lots of trees to lay under

  • Jimmy Jones

While visiting old neighborhood from 30 some year's ago, I was pleasantly surprised to see A memorial for that poor girl that was tortured to death, her name is Sylvia Likens, glad to see her remembered it so.e way. Thank you Indianapolis and Willard park❗✌ …

  • Julie Shepherd

Took the kids swimming and had a great time. Pool was clean although the water was still just a bit chilly. The skate park was very cool and I very much enjoyed watching the skaters having fun. Also there were lots of shaded spaces to sit and relax.

  • RANDY “DIXON” GRANT

Poor girl, Sad part is she still hasn't received any justice, Everyone involved killed themselves or died from natural causes or some other health reason but after what they all did to this girl they should have all been lined up to face

  • Amanda El rhilani

The pool is closed on Sunday which is not good ..anyways I come lay in sun and cool off vice versa I passed by I thought it was open but it's the splash pad for free so I'll now lay on my towel get wet with the sprinklers and its free

  • fishingmanou12317

As a child I went to this park alot,it's not the same.parents are absent or not attentive to their own children.

  • Michelle Lynn

It was a very hot day with no shade whatsoever! No bathroom to use, which was a let down. All together quiet with nobody there except the few people taking a break from the sun under the picnic table area. Nice place.

  • Christina Rash

Lovely park. I was surprised at how many summer programs bring students there. It is beautiful. Cons... path in park falling apart. Bricks were everywhere and became dangerous at times when children throw them.

  • Aj Steele

Park had trash all over it and I mean everywhere..there was poop on the slide, the swing set broken in spots.. also the Monkey bars are broken with parts to cut you...Not a place where small kids should play.

  • Mona

Pool is just the right size but can seem small for the area, a lot of people come here. Lifeguards/attendants are strict and will tell at the top of their lungs, terrifying your children they are yelling at.

  • Tammy Graham

My son absolutely LOVED the skate park!!! Nice green space... plenty of seating to watch the kiddos run and play. Bathrooms would be nice.... but there are reasons for no public restrooms I am sure. More

  • Nicole Green

My children and I have so much fun up here even though due to COVID WE have to pay 3 times to swim all it was still really cheap and the staff are very nice and attentive they even interact with the kids

  • Peggy Reed

Its safe, big open and my babies love running all around it. Early morning just as suns coming up, grass wet but glossning from sun rays Very quiet, bunnies and squirrels out Best pert Its Very Peaceful

  • Jesse Barnes

The new skatepark is awesome. However, parking is bad and alot of irresponsible parents letting their kids play on the ramps as a slide which will end in one of those kids getting slammed. …

  • Allison Zimmerman

I bring my family here almost every day in the summer the kids rly love it we play at the park get nice and hot then jump in the pool to cool off staff is very friendly and playful. …

  • asɦʟɛʏ ռɨċօʟɛ աɦɛɛʟɛʀ

enjoying the walks of the streets. listening carelessly to the beats. got my bestie alongside me JP you're better than string cheese. much luv applesauce and grape ielly dreams.

  • Anthony Sharp

Its a nice park with plenty of shade but there is a serious problem with the homeless people. Day and night they live in the pavilion and leave trash all over the park.

  • Kat Lindsey

Awesome little skate park for indy east siders , now ya dont need to go to Greenwood all the time to skate!!! Also has basketball court and playground with swings!♡

  • Kristina Schmidt

Hasn't been there in a very long time so I really couldn't explain any details except for the fact that it is right across the street from a very bad neighborhood

  • Ms. B is Blessed & Highly Favored Bennett

Park needs to be cleaned up. Would've given 5 stars but, the picnic areas were not attended to appropriately. Everyone, stay safe out there. God bless everyone.

  • Melinda Kendle

Skate park is nice! Lovely setting. Crosswalk light to provide safety walking across the streets.
Playground
Swings slides climbing small swinging bridge

  • Jared Campbell

back when we used to do whatever we could to blow off work, we would come to the court here and shoot a lot of bricks. those were bittersweet days. RIP us.

  • Red Ellis

Nice park all in all but someone needs to continually pick up the trash and there being used needles all over the ground is disgusting and disappointing

  • Amelia Pond

Its a fun place, safe and clean for children to play....and it's also a Pokestop for Pokemon Go players. It's overall a decent park, yet a bit urban.

  • Ann Brown

All of the picnic tables were moved behind a locked fence. Very disturbing for families that just wanted a picnic. Bring your own chairs and bench.

  • Mrs Tate

Its a nice quiet park. Not enough shade tho unless you're under the picnic table area.... Not too many people there and it's small so not crowded.

  • Michelle Sweeny

My one year old enjoyed climbing on the playground and the slides were fun. Old but clean. Good place to wait for the zoo to open.

  • Richard Darr

Not for the younger kids who are trying to learn and just want to have fun.. To much bullying and no understanding for the kids..

  • Renee Coleman

Really calm and peaceful. Love the basketball courts and the pool option on the days and times they are open. Friendly visitors.

  • kirby wilson

Great memories of this park doing a church outreach as Skippy the Clown tied balloons for the young children with their families

  • Phillip Dawalt

Willard park is OK nothing fancy needs more shade. I couldn't believe that the pool is closed on Sunday? Summer is too short...

  • liz Geshy

Long waits and after receiving the food it comes without condiments like salt and pepper. Not worth going there till it reopens

  • yvonne Mccaslin

  • Nancy Kelly

Lots of different activities. Great place to bring your kids or even, like I did, nice place to have a picnic on the grass.

  • Harvietta Burse

They're getting better with getting you in n out. Most of the time chicken is fresh out the grease which is most enjoyable.

  • Kelly Barngrover

Went there to go swing Google told me it was open and it was closed why is this pool closed when it's been there forever

  • Joshua Walker

I don't like going to the park because usually I end up waiting for a long time for Dean's "God's Open Arms" outreach.

  • Jackie Chan

Not bad, but bathroom's are always locked and homeless people live in the park next door, area kind of sketchy

  • Lisa Husted
