Why did you decided to pick out a little number of misbehaving pupils to represent a field of students? The recently established rule, which states that only 10 students may be admitted at a time till the conclusion of the term, is utterly callous and dehumanising. By denying secondary school pupils access to the library's study materials because of a tiny number of misbehaving students, you have figuratively staged them all as wild animals. Remember that not everyone has the right tools at home to employ for academic success, thus the library serves as a second chance for us. Speaking of specific tools, can't the library identify the precise students who made a disruption using tools like cameras? Wouldn't an adult who disturbed the library have been banned if it had been them? Why is it unique to us? By limiting the number of kids entering at once to 10, it creates a race to get to the library first. In addition, the students who caused a disruption STILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENTER THE LIBRARY AND MAKE YET ANOTHER DISRUPTION. Do you not realise how absurd this is? Additionally, when I went to the library with a few other students to study for mock examinations, they claimed that they were only trying to "look out for the peace of the people in the library," or something along those lines. Am I not a person? Sorry, but that strikes me as being incredibly dehumanising. Why is everyone to blame for someone else's error? If that were to happen to you, I'm confident you would not like it very much. I'm tired of the prejudice you people have against us, and I'm tired of having to punish everyone for someone else’s wrong-doing. The fact that you did not take the time to go about this the right way irks me. Those students still have to advantage of entering the library as long as they get there on time. What a stupid ideology.

Today i when to woolwich library me and my daughter always go there we really like it. Is really. Nice. But today i was really upset and sad i wanted to rent the books that i barred from library the lady who is there when i rent the books she's very rude and maybe i can say that she don't like us because we are Aisha she told me the books are damaged but when i took the books is was like that and i told her that the she asked me why did you get damaged books i told her my daughter she like them this why i took it. When i took the books i already informed the lady who work that day is damaged she told me is ok is kids books is will be damaged. But the lady who was there today she's really don't care what im telling her as she asked me to pay for the book. She don't even care that im talking with her she's really rude. I paid £6.00 is really sad to see people like them. If you don't like people like us or other countries people please don't work in a place like that. I came home and i cry my daughter is only 2 year old and my husband passed away on 6th February i was crying and thinking why people are like this. Is just hurt me lots. Thanks woolwich library.

This is a post to heartily thank the members of the Woolwich library... My 8 year old daughter accidentally left the library and walked all the way home on her own...she thought that I had left her and returned home...I looked frantically for her all around including the surrounding places...I just could not imagine that she can return all alone to our house which is almost a mile away from the library.. Unfortunately I was not carrying my mobile and didn't have my husband's number and was unable to get in touch with him...we are new here and our numbers kept changing for a while and I just forgot to update our numbers on the library database... But the staff members of Woolwich library supported me and helped me in every possible way...Shazia Maam, Rachel and the entire team...they helped me in my search all throughout....they drove down to my house and found my daughter...they even brought her back to me safe and sound... I am really grateful and thankful for the support they have provided to me...a huge thanks to you all...the wonderful team of Woolwich library

The poor behaviour of specific students should not affect the rest of the other students who truly do want to work hard in the library. The rule that has been implemented (10 kids at a time until the end of term) is quite stupid, if i must say so myself; by the end of the term i will no longer continue having my exams, furthermore, there will be no point of me returning back to the library once the season of my exams ends. I am usually very late to arrive to the library, later than others, meaning i can not enter the library since the limit has been reached. This rule is very inconsiderate to the students who are there to improve on themselves and to gain more knowledge, it occurs so often that other students have to suffer because of misbehaving pupils and i am quite frankly tired of it!

I was in children area of library while getting my child reading club membership sorted. My child was playing hide and seek,I was trying to stop him. while I was dealing with that my 1 years started crying and I believe a member of library team sent security to ask me to leave with child. I thought that was excessive and unwelcoming behavior. They lost the reading membership form and I had to sign up again, cause unnecessary delay. children area manager was called by the team , said sorry but the security gard lady wouldn't say sorry. On my way out I asked her for her name on badge and told me to get it from the manager said '' I should not use my child additional needs, as she had a son with needs" This shows level of luck of education in children library team and security lady.

Complete and utter trash. ALL STUDENTS, THIS LIBRARY IS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. THE PROBLEM WITH MOST OF GREENWICH LIBRARY SERVICES is that they're all open plan which means if someone is crying in the children's section, you can hear them from the designated quiet areas at the other side of the library. Not a consistent customer service at all, staff are nice when they want to be, other times they can be very rude and lack patience. Most other students claiming to be studying there but just chatting with friends also contribute to the noise. If you've got free bus travel, better off going to Bexleyheath Main Library, or if you want to stay in Greenwich, the Greenwich library at Trafalgar Road.

If you're looking for a quiet place to study this is not it! This place is an absolute jungle. No one has any consideration with regards to people who actually need to study. Not even the staff members. There is no policy what so ever. Worse library I've ever visited. There aren't many places to charge your laptop either. However if you do want to study, I suggest you get there as soon as it opens until about 2pm. Any later awful. You hear kids crying, people having normal conversations. It's just ridiculous. The staff aren't very welcoming and are nice when they want to be. Just avoid this library. It deserves no stars.

New style library where you can drink and perhaps eat while reading. This actually works as the library is well used and popular (as opposed to quiet and empty). The collection is very poor really for a big library and the books are all over the place. good collection of ethnic books reflecting very diverse population. Collection a little condescending in this respect, so for example the biography section is full of pointless celebs and recent sports stars. Housed in ultra modern council offices with a public viewing platform that is not open to the public - just the council workers (after we paid for it).

I was at Woolwich library (05 August 2017) to scan my documents. The lady at the front desk told to me stay on 61 computer. It was around 3:30 pm when I started using that computer. Time was going to finish after 11 minutes to use that computer. When 10 minutes was over I went to that lady to request 5 minutes extra time to use that computer. She was so rude to me and started shouting at me saying "HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO TELL YOU.......and bla bla bal" but it was my time that I was requesting her to extend time. She did not extend my time. Very disappointed with her rude behaviour. Bad service

  • bhaxby

Pretty decent book selection and spacious environment but zero enforcement of quietness policies, so ubiquitous in any other library. The main reason I think anyone goes to the library is to get work done, and so I don’t think it would disrupt people much if the staff were to try and enforce it more. I tried to drown out the noise by listening to music on my headphones but there’s poor signal inside the library and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work when you try to connect through your phone for some reason

  • TV Ben-Jusu

This library is very decent and have nice furniture for studying. However, there is currently no provision for quiet study area. There used to be two quiet study rooms but they are now being used by staff as offices. *Hopefully, a provision will be made for a quiet study area in the future.* The main library hall is sometimes very noisy, with people chatting loudly with no consideration for those studying. It will be great if staff can manage the noise level.

  • Mr Mister

Well resourced space for thought, work, relaxing. They have everything you need in a library plus all the added extras of abundant work space, rest and sofa areas, plentiful desks, charging stations, business hubs, computers for use. I cant fault this library at all, its the best library out there. If my role was a work from home with no zoom or team calls then I'd be in this library daily as a workspace. Very helpful assistants too.

  • Channel 64

Since I started to visit the library frequently since January 2019, the service seem slightly improved with their customer service decent and the facilities okay for a stay at least a hour. For improvements, they could install a secure WiFi connection air it has occasional issues connecting to devices and the children section has problems with noise levels so someone could monitor the level.

  • boss seun

Horrible library for studying at. The open plan often means that it is too noisy and makes it feel like a social club rather than an actual library. There are two study rooms but these are always booked so you often cannot study there. If you want to study at a library. I recommed the thamesmead one as it has a study room that is never booked even though it is much smaller.

  • Kamala Bhandari

Library is big.I haven't looked the books in library because i used my own books there.I am really not happy with management I am in library right now(writing review from library)but havent get environment like in library guys sitting near by me is just listing the music in such a big sound in loudspeaker but non of staff cant stop him ..what the hell is the environment.

  • Ana Jalih

The place is really noisy with people talking all the time in loud voices. The staff is almost non-existent, allowing all the teens and other people to cause noise and do whatever they want without considering the fact that others are reading and trying to concentrate.Truly it looks more like a coffee shop than a library.

  • Olatomiwa Mebude

There is one female library receptionist who moves at the pace of a sloth. It took 30 minutes to print off a couple of pages, and most of that time was because of how SLOW she was moving. If you want spend 30+ minutes printing off a couple of pages this is right place to go, otherwise avoid.

  • Bianca .O

If you're looking for a quiet place to study, don't bother coming here. They've got kids playing loud computer games, children running around, people chatting. The brighter side is that it has good books, free Wi-Fi and occasionally, a member of staff would decide to turn the noise down.

  • Mark Walker

Insufficient computers to meet demand. Should include short use (I.e 15 minute) computers so that people in a rush requiring to print or fire off a quick email can do so without having to wait for ignorant users to log out of social media or other internet entertainment.

  • Emanuel Berglund

Woolwich library is a credit to the council, spacious, bright and a well centre of child friendly activities, my children often come here for activities. It's a shame that some people eat and drink in the library but we can't really blame the librarians for that can we.

  • Harry Gurung

Greenwich Nepalese Coordinating Team (GNTC) inauguration event today. Team is hosting greet & meet every Sunday between 12noon to 3pm at Woolwich Council Library. Wish you all the best... Harry Gurung Chairman Southeast Regional Tamudhee London

  • Elena Rowland

Staff is helpful even in this restricted difficult time. Problem are children, who are not restricted, running around, spreading dust and nobody restrain them. There is sometimes a guard on duty, who is doing a little to keep the order.

  • Jim Ellison

At the moment it's free to borrow dvds ,just a shame they don't loan out cds anymore. Only open Monday to Saturday until 5,but there are plan's to extend to Sunday when things ease more in line with government regulations

  • Elena (LadyElena)

Lots of resources and the staff are so lovely. I help kids with extra tuition there. If I come into lots of money, I'd give them a huge donation. They serve the community brilliantly....from toddlers to Adults.

  • Robert

Had an appointment with Roy Alexander, he failed to show, he was supposed to come here to my home yesterday, but never turned up, wouldn't answer his phone, or reply to emails, same as today.

  • K M

Facilities are nice and there is ample space. However, needs a quiet/silent study area/zone with plugs for personal study. Open plan doesn’t cater to everyone’s needs and can be quite noisy.

  • Inappropriate Prisess

It's a good place to study and awesome wifi services. The staffs here are very friendly and it is so easy to locate. The toilet is very clean and l highly recommended it.

  • HENRY JIDE

It was okay but put it online that amount for printing and state the person has to come with coins. If not for the help of one of your staffs, I would have been stranded.

  • doc why

its a good place but it needs more seats for people that are studying since some people just sit there and do nothing also it needs a wider selection of mangas.

  • Stacey Ellis

Big library, lots of places to study, charging points for laptops etc. Friendly staff and a large variety of things to do especially for children's activities.

  • Yvonne Yeboah

Not quiet but at least a place to sit and study. All patrons speak on their phones or loudly whether they are in the quiet zone or the whatever zone.

  • Annie B

One of the best libraries I have been to! Great selection of books. I don't use the computers so I can't comment on those but I think its brilliant

  • lana cotinho

Loved the set up and various books which were diverse. Not sure if they have a water dispenser or coffee area would be nice to have one though

  • Frankie Conti

Loads of computers and a wide range of books. Unfortunately it is noisy (I went on a Sunday), so best to avoid if you want to read or study

  • M B

Decent selection of books. Graphic novels need updating though. Good vibe to the place. Noisy in an appropriate sort of way. 4 stars …

  • Eliza Rai
