An incredible, secluded piece of paradise: the Pittwater YHA offers great CLEAN facilities, including hammocks to deepen your relaxation, easy to navigate around, and perfect to gather groups together or have time to yourself! Katie and Bergia are just wonderful women and hosts on property, always available with beautiful smiles and open arms. The YHA is the perfect place to relax, take in nature views, swim or kayak or sup into the ocean, stop and rest from the city dynamics. Take less belongings than you think you need, pack more books and creative artistry as your mind will wander inwards! Enjoy...

It is a great place for a trip to nature. The manager and the staff are very friendly and are caring for the environment and the nature. One can experience beeing a part of nature and one can go for great bushwalks and kayak. Their are Wallabys, cockatoo and more animals to observe in their natural environment not sourrounded by walls. The hostel was very clean and I had the best sleep since many weeks. One should experience the sunrise of one of the lookouts or on the hostels terrace with all the different animals around you. One is far away from all that stress and hectiness of the city and one can have a very special and unique experience. I loved the trip and the hostel!

Any opportunity to stay here I jump at! The Pittwater Eco YHA is the perfect place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Sydney and recover in a place surrounded by nature. It has something for everyone from bush hikes and local swimming spots, incredible views, kayak and paddle board rental, personal encounters with local wildlife, board games and hammocks for those blissful afternoon naps. Located not too far from Sydney CBD but nestled in it's own corner of the National Park, this slice of heaven is one you want to visit at least once a season if you can.

Wonderful place to spend a few days. You can relax around the property or near the water or you can be as active as you want with paddle boards and kayaks available to hire. Likewise, you can also choose to have everything done for you and opt for catered or you can sort yourself and cook! The team are super helpful and the on-site coffee just what you need in a morning. Thanks to Amy for a great weekend!

Pittwater YHA is situated right in the heart of nature. It has awesome scenic views from its lounge area. Rooms and washrooms were very clean. Ventilation in rooms could have been increased a bit. Sarah and Micheal are two very sweet people taking care of Pittwater YHA. Both of them are nature enthusiasts. We loved kayaking at the Morning bay Wharf. Tourists only need to take care of their food supply while visiting YHA. We could not find any good restaurant nearby. The community kitchen services provided by YHA are excellent. Thank you YHA for the beautiful stay in Pittwater!!

Thank you lovely Bergia and Katie, I had a wonderful holiday here! Extremely happiness and peaceful! The hostel are friendly and nice! They help me a lot! Best coffee ever! Breeze touch my skin! Laying on the hammock and reading! Swimming in the Morning bay! Sleeping like a baby! Definitely highly recommend! They are cool people! The kitchen and all area are clean! Boost my energy! The location is amazing! Easy to go there! Wallabies and goanna say hi! The birds sing around! Kayaking and standing paddle adventure! Thank you thank you and thank you again!

Everything you need for a get-away into nature. I stayed for 2 weekends, one in Oct and one in Dec. It was peaceful reading in the hammock on the porch watching the cockatoos soar by. The bedroom and bathroom facilities were clean and the kitchen had a lot of space so no issues with a few groups cooking at once. The hosts know a lot about the area and recommended hiking tracks and made sure we were aware of things like ticks in high grass. Looking forward to going back soon!

Beautiful place. Very clean. Great kitchen facilities, even have filtered tap water, great shared areas, room was clean and a good temperature. Really caring friendly staff who helped me be safe while bushwalking alone, very unique atmosphere. Also, the view! Just beware the place is quite isolated and no shops etc so bring supplies, although they sell barista coffee there

A real hidden gem! Tucked away on the coast of Pittwater Lake, this hostel is perfect for backpackers looking to get off the beaten track and experience some true adventure. A stone's throw from Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, this area offers amazing bushwalks, stunning beaches and plenty of opportunity to hit the water - with kayaks available at the hostel. Michael and Sarah are very friendly and accommodating making this an all-round great place to stay!

The best short holiday weekend away from Sydney at YHA Pittwater . The location is so quite and peaceful that you relax , charge your energy, get inspiration and enjoy the natural beauty of Pittwater/Church point (Mountains, river, birds, cockatoos, wallaby, .. ) . Happy with great and warm hospitality from the Manager ( Sara, Michael, Kerry, Angela and Coco). I have recommended to my friends and I will book again for late November 2017.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my family, including a 3 year old and a 7 month old. We had THE most wonderful time. Lots of wonderful walks, swims, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. It was so picturesque and peaceful and we are already planning our return. Strongly recommend!

The new managers, Bergia and Katie, were incredibly welcoming and lovely, with great knowledge of the area.

Beautiful location, reasonably priced rooms, staff were pleasant. We requested a sleep in and paid for a late check out. Despite being the only guests staying that night, staff made vast amounts of noise right outside our door in the morning, shouting, dropping boxes etc. When we left they stated that they 'didn't realise we were there'. Probably would not visit again.

Love this eco retreat. It's the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature and be out on the water kayaking or for a refreshing swim. Thanks to Amy for the warm welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and look forward to a longer stay soon!

Thank you Bergia & Katie for taking care of us. They are super nice host! This place is surrounded by nature and full of activities ; trekking, kayaking, campfire etc. There is a common area and shared facilities such as fridge, kitchen tools, board games and books. If you are looking for a place to escape the city, I would recommend!!

I stayed here as part of a bush regeneration weekend and loved it. Such a peaceful environment and the hostel has everything you'd expect it to have. Michael and Sarah, who run the hostel, are as friendly and helpful as you could wish for.

Fantastic location. Excellent sunrise views. Reasonably priced. We had a great weekend getaway away from Sydney. Kayaking and bushwalking was lots of fun. They also had firewood available for small fires outside and for the indoor fireplace. Nice and cosy.

Bergia & Katie were so welcoming. It’s easy to become immersed in nature in this place. We even had a midnight visit from the resident brushtail possum who was keen to share our bed. Felt immediately relaxed and comfortable. Highly recommend.

An hidden gem close to city. Come here to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. If you are a bit sporty you can do some good hikes around and you can also do some kayaking. Owners are really nice and kind. I really recommend this place

  • Dave Maher

Absolutely loved this place, it's perfect for a quiet getaway, there is kayaking available to hire at the hostel, staff very friendly and place is clean. Surrounded by Bush and ocean it is a bit of mission to get to but its worth it.

  • David Tucker

I should not review this place, because it is one of the world's best kept secrets. Surrounded by bush and native fauna, beautiful waterways, canoes, open fires. Quiet and peaceful. Please stay away. We like it as it is.

  • Rob Douglas

Nice hostel tucked away in the bush about a 15 minute walk up a hill from the water. The kitchen is a bit sparse, but otherwise great. Take plenty of insect repellent - the mosquitoes are everywhere.

  • Caz B

Liked the location but the owner dude was a creep and a total grump, Michael was his name. He made us feel really unwelcome. Also only 1 power outlet in the room? Wouldnt go back.

  • Marvin Law

The Sydney Pittwater YHA was very accommodating with beautiful views, hikes and warm hot showers. Highly recommend anyone who wants to go for a short 1-2 night trip
