Went in to get a coffee Monday morning. A few people were waiting for coffees, but nobody was in the line. I went up to stand infront of the register, and waited. There were three or four staff doing various things, but nobody looked at it. Well, it happens we all get busy. Thats ok. I waited longer. I started trying to catch somebodies eye as it was about 40 seconds by this point and I hadn't been acknowledged, so thought I had better try make it more obvious I was ready to order. Someone joins the line behind me. Another 15 seconds pass. One of the staff, looked up, saw her friend behind me over my shoulder and said "Hey xxxxx - what can I get you". The customer just said what she wanted and the staff proceeded to start getting it. It was clear I was ignored, so I bluntly expressed my frustration, and walked out. The staff that morning were either plain rude, or are in serious need of training. Won't seek my coffee there again. First impressions are important to me.

Being one of the local bakery's we have been in here many times. The bakery is generally quite busy which is a good sign, but they have always had on ample staff to serve their customer quickly. If you like cakes they have a banana custard/cream cake that is delicious. If you are on a diet forget about eating this or be prepared to take a break from your diet for the day..:) The pies, sausage rolls and pasties are all great. They also have a good selection breads, pastries along with a sandwich bar. You can dine in or they have limited outside seating. A worthwhile stop if you are driving through yarra glen :)

We ordered mixed boxes of sandwiches from the Yarra Glen Bakehouse for a picnic at our wedding in November 2014. Right from the get-go the experience was easy and professional and we knew we were in the right hands. The service was confident, the sandwiches were delicious and everything went off without a hitch! It was an unusual (and wonderful) experience in the otherwise utter madness of planning a wedding. Thank you Yarra Glen Bakehouse we'll drop in whenever we are near by!

Looking forward to a morning tea from a local bakery while driving through Yarra Glen. It was all good until we put our order in and the girl serving was so rude and obviously not having a great day. She threw our food at as across the bench, getting one order wrong. Then again throwing what we order at as. Unfortunately the customer service let them down, sausage roll, custard tart and coffee were delicious.

absolutely terrible been going there for about a week to purchase a sandwich on the way to work, all good except for today 30/05/2017 been paying $3.00 for the sandwich but today it was $4.60??? informed the lady? the price was wrong but to no avail. the other staff also told her what the price was, but that also did no good , hence i wont be going there anymore. VERY BAD FORM.

I do not live in Yarra Glen but was in the area early so went to get a coffee after noticing bakery seemed quite busy. I had the feeling that because I wasn’t a local I wasn’t going to get any friendly service. Very icy customer service, do they not realize people passing through town obviously make them money? Strange experience , won’t go back. Coffee 3/5

A great little Bakery located within the tourist friendly Yarra Valley. Sufficient street parking is available and has outside seating to enjoy on a nice day. The selection is broad and all items purchased tasted great. Kids went back for sweets. Highly recommended you pop in and grab some decent food during your travels. Staff are efficient and friendly.

It's 3:20 pm you close at 4pm, I asked if I could have one of the sandwiches put in the toaster, and the response was "sorry we just turned it off, we are closing soon" . I asked does it take 40 minutes to turn a toaster on and toast a sandwich? The reply was "no but I would have to clean it" . That is laziness. The sandwich tasted nice nevertheless

An absolute gem!! I was so glad to have stopped by during a winery tour and found the smiling faces of the staff and matching faces in a biscuit! My absolute favourite range of sandwiches, mixed with the most incredible selection of baked goods along with spot on service, Yarra Glen Bake House (The Blue Bakery) is the place to be Thank you!!

We were looking for a bakery or coffee shop that was open early, and the Yarra Glen Bake House turned out to be the perfect choice. The carrot cake muffin and Danish we bought were both superb. The coffee was good, service quick, and the prices were very reasonable. A great place to stop when heading out of Melbourne early in the morning.

  • Seb Murphy

Fantastic pies, awesome staff. Always try and drop in when I'm passing through. Coffee is also good for a bakery, they didn't burn the milk and it was beautifully strong, which can't be said for most rural bakeries where you may as well just drink a cup of burnt milk. Really love this place and the staff are fantastic.

  • Gerry Kottek

Wow. I really like this establishment. The service is excellent, the staff are positive and friendly and the food is excellent. Today we had pasties (1 veg and 1 meat) and a couple of cakes. All were great - pasties the best I have had for a very long time. Shall be back again and again.

1 Star Pie. 1 Star Service. Not a terrible coffee though which was lucky enough to get them 3 stars. Luckily for me though, i got a sauce with my pie which i usually never do to make it at least edible. Dont know if its gone downhill but it used to be a good bakery.

  • Matt

Really great Beef, cheese, bacon pie. Coffee in the morning was excellent would get one every day if I lived locally. Pepper steak pie was good but expect celery, capsicum and carrots in the filling which although still tasty was not what I would have expected.

  • Pete Wilkinson

Jalapeño pies are to die for, best pie I’ve ever eaten. Service is excellent, friendly smiling staff. Highly recommend to everyone.

This is a great bakery, nice tasting coffee and a wide variety of pastries, cakes and light meals. I stop off here often on my travels up the Melba Highway, the staff are always happy and friendly and I leave thinking that I was special to them.

  • Tammy Sattler

A great little bakery situated in the heart of Yarra Glen. They serve great coffee and bakery goodies. We were visiting from interstate and found ourselves here for breakfast 3 days in a row. Great to see a small business still thriving!

  • Marisa Lobo

We had their pot pies which were super yummy! They had really good flavours, and the meat was so tender. Highly recommend this place if you're passing by. We were on our way to Murrindindi and it was a great way to start our camping.

  • Leonard Rooke

These guys have an excellent Beef Pie & their eclairs are yum filled with fresh cream. Totally worth stopping for a treat to eat or take home for later.

Called in at 3.15 on our way back to melbourne, ordered 5 cakes for the family only to be told "sorry we just turned off the coffee machine". The coffee should be available until the shop closes at 4pm. Very ordinary service.

  • Nikolaos Apostolidis

Love their products, always fresh and baked as should be.Nice servis and very helpful staff. The girls are ou la la!Easy parking large variety of pastry and pies.Very clean.Beautiful coffee a nice start to anybody's day.

  • Cheryl Banks

I ordered 2 sausage rolls under recommendation. There were too many herbs in it. It was over powering. The pastry was disappointing. It wasn't flaky puff pastry. Unless they improve I won't be going there again!

  • Stuart Morton

Easy to see why this place has a good rating! There was line out the door but we were served very promptly by the very friendly staff. Everyone loved their pies and sweets and we will be back again for sure!

  • Gabrielle Atkinson

Called in this morning to get some brekky and found the staff there very up themselves Food is great It’s a shame that they made me feel that u was beneath them. Coffee was ok Lots of great food shame

  • Hammer Jackson

Not the worst food I've had. Coffee was strong & bitter. Not the way I like it. Place was better than anything else on offer when we went through Yarra Glen. If you have the option keep going through.

  • Georgia Shepherd

This bakery is definitely worth a visit! The quiches were delicious and there is a huge variety of cakes to choose from. There is limited seating however, but a great place to grab some goodies to go!

  • Carl Brewer

COVID has made things challenging for this bakery/cafe, it was always pretty pokey and crowded inside and the layout means you can't really give much space. Good bread, good range of sandwiches etc.

  • Kimberley

Very abrupt unfriendly staff, felt rushed to order with no other customers in store with Approximately 5 staff working behind the counter. Donuts purchased did not taste fresh, very disappointing.

  • Heather Barr

Great place to start the day on a weekend if you're headed out, as we were on our snow trip. Broad selection of pies and quiche with good coffee plus a little seating area to enjoy it all in.

  • Joanne

I purchased a curry pie and a custard tart recently. Disappointed is all i can say. Pie didnt taste like curry and custard tart left a discusting coating in my mouth. Not even worth one star.

Look for the blue bakery up the Main Street. It holds some of the best pies and certainly the best pizza rolls you will ever eat. Service is fast . Finish it off with a rum ball and coffee.
