What a fun little stop this turned out to be. I had a long day at work, rushing to hit a deadline, and decided to talk a walk with no intention of stopping. I walked only 3 blocks, and took a turn I don’t normally take just to experience somewhere new. Not three blocks from that turn I stumbled across this establishment. I hadn’t eaten and decided on the same spontaneous vein to stop into this this seemingly unassuming restaurant. I was met with a very New York 2000’s vibe. Very hole in the wall, 7 tables with two chairs each type of place. A man from Russia sat to my left waiting for his DoorDash order, a sweet gay couple sat to my right lost in conversation, and a tv poorly mounted on the wall played a show I’d never seen, turned into a comforting background noise. A man occasionally showed up from the kitchen to drop to-go orders off on one of the tables meant for dine-in patrons, while the woman catered to the only two actually dining in. There seemed to be a system and it seemed to work well. The food was fantastic. When being met with a 250 item menu, I tend to go with whatever the workers recommend. This time, the recommendation came back as Pad Thai, to which I obliged. The food cost 15.42 for takeout, and I tipped three dollars simply because of the happy attitude I was met with. I waited about 15 minutes, was handed the food, and sent on my way. I walked 20 minutes home, filled up my water, sat down, and unpacked the brown paper bag. I was met with a tightly packed, still steaming how container of pad thai, which to my surprise was orange. I squeezed the included lime on the chicken and noodles, and got absolutely lost in the food. This is an experience I’ve had so many times before, but never really cease to appreciate. 5/5 stars. Quality food, atmosphere, and overall vibes.

Location is basic set up with some decorative pictures and meal pictures hung up. Service was so inviting and friendly. We ordered orange chicken, which was perfectly cooked with a crispy crunch. The orange sauce was more of a glaze that was delightful and not overly sweet. The Spicy Lemongrass Chicken was seasoned with a right amount of peppery , lemony notes and sliced green peppers/onions, served over white rice that was fluffy and tasty. The crab rangoon were fried and crispy full of flavor, and the egg rolls were generously filled and paired great with the sweet and sour sauce. Entire meal was deliciously fabulous and filling, the staff friendly and engaging, and service fast and accommodating. Looking forward to another visit.

Best Asian restaurant for vegan options. I have 2 favorite restaurants in Chicago and this is one of them. So so good! Friendly staff and fast service. Good portions. Inside is very very small ... Like super small but you can eat in if there is space. I come with my family (6-7 people) and we're usually able to sit with tables put together.

For one thing, the food was probably the best Chinese food I've had in the city. The portions are big and fairly priced, as well. The kicker that prompted me to write this positive review was how helpful the woman was who answered the phone when I called because UberEats delivered the wrong order. I received a much smaller order for someone with a similar name. The restaurant said I could keep the extra items, and then quickly made the missing items and sent their own delivery driver to get them to me as quickly as they could. Even the driver was very unwilling to keep the small tip I offered him, as a thank you for getting it out to me. We're appreciative that they worked to fix our situation and will be ordering from them again in the future!

Yummy Yummy was great. Our daughter just moved into the neighborhood and we were looking for a quick and casual dinner. We couldn’t decide what to order so we got three dishes to share (orange chicken, chicken lo mein, chicken with snow peas, and a large wonton soup. Everything was fresh and delicious! We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Staff was very friendly. We made a reservation online, but it wasn’t necessary for the time we were there. The restaurant was very busy with take out and delivery orders.

I ordered through DoorDash and they gave me the wrong order and when I called back the manager yelled at me and was trying to cut me off as I was trying to explain to her what was going on with my order. 1. If you can’t take accountability for your store mistake then close shop 2. Make the customer the correct order instead of trying to just offer a refund maybe I just want the food I order this clearly says a lot about the customer service skills that are lacking. 3. Treat people how you want to be treat

This is 5 stars just because of the egg drog soup. I woke up from a 3 hour depression nap and walked a few blocks over to pick up soup. And honestly, it's delicious and tasty and could fix a broken heart. I ordered the crab rangoons as an impulse, and I think they were maybe a little over done or a bit old, but they're still tasty. The thai tea is a solid 7/10, but I think one of the other flavors might be better. This place was very busy when I was there as well, and the ladies taking the orders are super kind. Very happy place!! Good for introverts too!

Really disappointed in this place! Ordered through ubereats last night and - not speaking hyperbolically here - literally everything we ordered was devoid of flavor. Not weak in flavor, just utterly and completely flavorless. Even the General Tso’s chicken and hot and sour soup were the blandest we’ve ever tried. Does anyone working in the kitchen taste the food they’re making to check for quality? Pretty annoyed by the waste of money spent here. We couldn’t get through our meal and just made something at home. Go anywhere else to avoid similar disappointment. Giving two stars because everything was well packaged lol

The good: amazing smoothie options. Highly recommend the green tea and honeydew smoothies with the tapioca. Expansive menu with an array of vegetarian options. The bad: every time I come in (I've been 6 times now), the people who work there don't give off a vibe that I am a valued customer. Nobody smiles, makes you feel welcome, and seems to appreciate your business; there is a palpable rudeness. I come back because I like the drink options, but more likely than not I will stop coming because I know I can get decent bubble tea down the block and interact with people who genuinely seem to value my business.

[Smoothie review] The good: The smoothies are absolutely delicious. They are made with real fruit (instead of powders and sweetners like other places) with lots of different flavors to choose from. For $5, they are well-portioned and are almost a meal on their own (gotta get the tapioca balls, obviously). Staff was very friendly and super quick. The not-so-good: Not really a knock per say, but it'd be nice if they had a take out window (given that I'm guessing it's the majority of their business). The inside is rather small, especially during COVID times. Food/drink: 9/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 10/10

Such amazing, delicious food. SO MANY vegan & vegetarian options (which honestly is hard to find in Chinese food)... We specified no eggs or meat in our order, and someone from the store called us just to make sure which was so thoughtful! We ordered a ton of food and everything was correct and tasty. Reasonable prices and large portions. Food came so quickly! Would 10/10 eat here again and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, especially vegans & vegetarians!!

The name doesn't lie. This place has the best Chinese food in the area. We had walked by many times and never ordered from there until recently. Ended up ordering twice in one week....once for dinner and once for a party with 10 people. Every entree and appetizer is delicious. The leftovers were even better. This is my new go to place. Large portions too.

Totally love the food, I respect businesses who also value me as a customer. I drive 25 mins to get this food, $80 worth. I asked for hot chili and was given ONE. I also asked for soy and was given three, but I have soy at home. So, I was like whatever. However, I asked if I could have another hot chili and was told they only give one and she goes to check with a manager. I left and won't be back. I chose your establishment. Remember customers have choices too.

The food was yummy yummy. I stumbled into this bastion of flavor when the restaurant we were aiming for across the street turned out to have closed abruptly. Thank the lord! The food and service were both so good that I felt compelled to grab a takeout order the next day on my way out of town. I also felt compelled to write my very first review. Bonus fact: apparently they invented and/or house “The Smoothie.” Visit for yourself if you don’t believe me.

Ordered from Yummy Yummy through Uber Eats. My buddies and I got 2 Szechuan Chicken entrees and 1 Kung Pao Tofu (+ egg rolls). All three dishes had no flavor especially since the Szechuan chicken had all oil with random vegetables. Maybe we ordered a little bit late into the evening or maybe we chose the wrong dishes. I personally will not be ordering from here again.

LOVE this place!! Smoothies always fresh most dishes are simple with a lot of flavor! Crab Rangoons are my ultimate favorite the biggest & best ones I’ve ever had. In the photo I got lo mein with tofu & chicken vegetables. Sometimes they are super busy and you might have to wait extra for your food but definitely worth it!! Tastes much better then it looks lol!

How have I gone so long without trying this place before? I got their lychee mango smoothie and it was delicious. You can tell the fruit is fresh. I got seasame chicken, general Taos chicken, and egg rolls off of DoorDash and in my opinion, the food tasted terrible. The chicken had a gross texture and the flavor was off. The egg rolls had some sort of season/flavor that I didn’t like. I won’t be ordering again. Although the service was completed very fast and there were no other issues. I just simply didn’t like the food.

Have been to Yummy Yummy twice now - once for takeout and once in house. Have had very good experiences with the staff, they're very friendly and timely. Their food both times I've been has tasted quite good! I've had Beef Chow Fun and their Szechuan Beef, both which were great. I also hear their smoothies are fantastic, though I've not tried them.

We are Yummy Yummy regular since they opened 17 years ago. We moved out of Chicago in 2015 and this is our fist time coming back to Chi-Town and Yummy Yummy is the first stop of our must visit restaurants! Many vegetarian options!! Cant miss the Mongolian seitan!

They're open again! I'm so happy. Chicago vegetarians and vegans rejoice! I recommend the Szechuan wontons, smoothies and orange tofu/soy gluten. A few bucks more than your usual takeout joint but the portions are massive. My favorite is the twice cooked gluten. I order from them every two weeks. They have vegetarian lunch specials.

  • Kalina Neskoska

So many vegan options!! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Their smoothies are AH-mazing and their dinner portions are a great size (leaves you leftovers). I don't know how they make their soy gluten but it's out of this world. Highly recommend for vegans and vegetarians!

I had difficulty finding good bubble tea in the area, but their bubble tea is YUMMY!!!(pun intended). Their tapioca is amazing and they always use fresh fruit! I almost come here once a week and they never disappoint! Highly recommend.

I am always in search of the egg roll of my youth, Yummy Yummy comes pretty close, as they do with the egg foo young. The Won ton soup is unremarkable, and lacks the bbq pork and leafy greens I prefer. In all, good meal at a good price.
