Slightly disappointed with this place... Or perhaps I had higher expectations. The food was OK... OK meaning the quality just isn't there. It's not prepared through a kitchen but put together quickly behind the coffee counter. We had the Buffalo chicken waffle and the chicken was like that pre cooked salty, spongy sort of texture. The flavors were a really salty without a whole lot of flavor. The other one we had was the oreo, which was OK as well. Just didn't blow away my tastbuds. The Cafe decor is cute but it's sort of weird because it shares its space with a pharmacy, walk in clinic sort of place. I wouldn't say that this place was horrible or anything, the presentation of the food was great, it was clean, good coffee... I just wouldn't go back.

Was working in town and using Google maps as part of my coffee exploration. I found this hidden gem relatively near my hotel. They serve drumroaster coffee from BC. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee was great, not too acidic or over roasted like a lot of hipster coffee places, with a hint of cherry and walnut with their medium roast. The bubble waffles sandwiches was definitely something I was interested in, unfortunately that this is only served on weekends. Nevertheless I grabbed a scone and coffee as part of my afternoon break. The atmosphere is quite open, as it shares space with the pharmacy. So if you ever need to wait for your prescriptions, definitely grab a coffee and Relax until your meds are filled.

Nice little coffee shop. The decor is very nice with a minimalist, clean appearance. My wife had a Peppermint tea, I went fancy and got the London Fog. Both drinks were quite delicious. We shared a delicious Chocolate caramel cake. It was very good, decent prices. We had seen their menu online and wanted to order their bubble waffle dessert, however, they were not offering it. I think it's because we showed up close to their closing time 4:30pm (they closed at 5). It was a little surprising to see that the coffee house shares the location with a pharmacy, but it works. Get your meds and coffee all at once. Great local business to support.

Since I am always on the hunt for good local coffee shops, I was happy to be introduced to Awake Coffee. They use locally roasted coffee beans/chocolate to make their beverages. My friend who got premium hot chocolate made with real chocolate described the flavour as "superbly rich without question". I had the cappuccino and LOVED it. Their bubble waffle was slightly different than traditional Hong Kong waffles I've tried (chewier and denser), but still amazing. If you are looking for a good coffee/chocolate drink place on south side of Edmonton, Awake Coffee may just be it. I will definitely go back, especially for their bubble waffle.

I needed a place to meet my sister-in-law for coffee in south Edmonton and we settled here! Neither of just had been before. It was awesome! The girl at the counter was so nice. I cannot have dairy and she made me the BEST dairy free latte I've ever had. The only downside to this place is the Cafe shares a space with a pharmacy, but the seating area is still very nice. My SIL had the bubble waffles and said it was amazing too!

Awake is a hidden gem! Ended up coming here because another Cafe had no seating, me and my friend found seats immediately. There was a large group of women enjoying their coffees, so that tells me this place is great! Our iced coffees were in large glass cups, which was a nice touch. We shared the spicy chicken bubble waffle, it was such a great snack to share. I'd make the trip to the Southside again to go to Awake.

Honestly, when I came here, it was very clean and not busy at all. I've been here a couple of times, as the location is very convenient for me. Of all the times that I've been here, I've decided that I will most likely not be coming back. The coffee was burnt and lukewarm, as I typically get a flat white. Staff wasn't overly friendly, and the food options were expensive and limited. It is a nice place if you need to spend some quiet time, but overall I would rather get a coffee from the 7-11 across the street for half the price.

  • Denis Serbu

I love this hidden gem! It shares the space with the best pharmacy I've ever used. The coffee is top notch, and I had one of the best cinnamon buns of my life there! Also with noting: they carry a great selection of high-end coffee making supplies. There are Aeropresses, fancy electric kettles, Chemex and Hario drip setups & filters, hand grinders... if you're serious about making great coffee they sell everything you need (but it's not mentioned on their website).

Wow, what a lovely little cafe. We were very impressed with the atmosphere and the coffee was delicious. I love that they brought the pharmacy and coffee shop together really keeps a bit of vibrancy to the shop. Lots of tables to sit and enjoy a coffee and they sell a host of coffee and supplies for brewing as well. Great little shop would recommend checking it out!

Very comfy cafe that's walking distance from Twin Brooks and MacEwan - service is always very friendly and prompt. Their coffee is cheaper than Starbucks and Second Cup and tastes much better, and they've got a good selection of small snacks. Their waffle cones are delicious, both the ice cream cones and the special "food" cones they offer on weekends. I also like how their costs with tax included are round, so it's easier to pay for with cash without getting tons of change. Highly recommend!

  • Dipan Das

Really quaint little coffee place just north on Henday on 111 street. I always wanted to try this place but didn't quite match the time. Finally went there yesterday. The lady at the counter was very friendly and the choice of coffees and teas was quite good. I tried iced chai for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Will definitely go back here and recommend others to visit this place.

Well, well, well, a coffee oasis in a coffee desert! Awake makes traditional cappuccinos, macchiato’s and Americanos out here in the burbs! Having moved from downtown Edmonton I was beginning to despair a descent cup of coffee until now. Ethically sourced Vancouver Island roasted beans are used to produce the finest cup south of 76 avenue. The space is tastefully shared with a pharmacy so if you need a flu shot that 15 minute wait after is so much better here with coffee in hand. Try it!

  • Donovan Jang

Incredible Vanilla Latté! Very happy I stopped by on my way home. I'd definitely like to try some of the other coffee drinks and pastries. Pricing is pretty standard for your modern day café, albeit with a bit of an overcharge for a slice of cake ($8!). The café and pharmacy are connected within the same space, so instead of the pleasant coffee smell you usually get when entering cafés, it smells of drugs instead. Not a huge deal, but just thought it was interesting to note.

  • Ah-Yeong Jo

Went to go get the flu shot and my medication at the Twin Brooks pharmacy and had a honey latte at Awake while waiting. The coffee mug and saucer are so pretty and the large latte was tasty! The decor there is very modern and simple which I like a lot. It is a perfect place to wait until your medication is ready for pickup but it should be also a pretty good place just to sit around to read a book or chat with friends. Want to go back to try their cappuccino or flat white!

  • Bryson Le

The place looks really trendy and has a very relaxed vibe. The girl who made my drink was also super nice. Has a pharmacy attached too which is very convenient to have your medications filled while enjoying a coffee. I had the Espresso Tonic which I found refreshing on a hot day. Carbonated caffeine is always a good thing in my books. The bright citrus flavors blended really well with the espresso's floral notes. Didn't get a chance to try the food... Maybe next time!

  • Erika Hagen

I love coming here to work for a while in the afternoons, and enjoy a lavender london fog (or two)! I wish they offered gluten free snacks, though. I think they sometimes have GF cookies but it appears they're usually or often stored in the same canister as gluten-containing cookies and so are contaminated.

Was at a wedding ceremony at 111 St and 19 Ave and the reception was not till 4:30 So searched for a local coffee shop and found this place. Very happy we came. It is new an fresh, modern. Interestingly it is part of a combined coffee shop and pharmacy but you hardly notice the pharmacy. Had the iced Chai and a chocolate scone and they were tasty. Was with a group and all the comments we positive. Will definitely come again.

  • Sara Brown

Great coffee. Love the modern and very clean atmosphere. Kind of neat pairing it with a pharmacy - different but not horrible. Love how they support local companies by selling locally roasted coffee or locally made chocolates. Also, glad there’s a great locally-run place to grab coffee, other than a Starbucks or Tim Hortons, that you don’t have to go to Whyte Ave or downtown for. Also, so happy there’s parking.

  • ArNa

We reached just before 5pm and spent a pleasant hour at the cafe. The iced mocha was strong and the right amount of sweet. We also had the strawberry mint waffle (so summery and refreshing) and the spicy chicken waffle (worth a try). Easily found a place to sit. The only downside was the place smelled less like a cafe and more like a pharmacy. Would visit again for the food but not if the pharmacy is crowded.

  • Diana Powell

I was surprised when I walked in that there is a coffee bar on the left and a pharmacy on the right lol. That said, it had great coffee and tea options. The staff were super friendly. And surprisingly the atmosphere wasn't bad considering it's in a pharmacy. I'll go back.

The cafe itself was really nice and there was plenty of open seating. However, I found the prices quite high for the quality. Tried the seasonal candy cane latte and all the flavour was at the bottom and not mixed at all. Also got the BEG waffle, which had good flavour, but fell apart and became incredibly soggy due to the tomato sauce. Overall probably won't return, but it was worth a try

  • Mohamed E.

Drinks are okay, personally don't think they're anything too special. Not a fan of the cafe-pharmacy combo. There's no separation at all so it's kinda awkward to go there with friends or to study and have people coming in and out and talking to pharmacists about their medications. Was looking forward to a cafe nearby to just go and relax, but the environment just isn't there unfortunately.

  • J Smith

Always a great coffee and several baked goods to choose from. Staff is great. The environment is a little strange as you share the area with pharmacy customers. I find it uncomfortable as most people go to a pharmacy because they are ill.......

There is no better pharmacy in Edmonton. They truly care about their clients and connect at a much more personal level. Awake makes it much easier to sit and wait for your prescriptions. Enjoy some of the sweets or coffee while waiting. The two sisters are quite beautiful as well, so it's always nice to get a boost of morale. They're both married though, just fyi lol.

  • Lindsey

This cafe is very aesthetically pleasing and quaint! The pharmacy is the the same space and they sell funky cards too! I did enjoy their iced coffee but when I tried their lemonade with grapefruit and lavender it was really bitter and bland(? -It tasted off). I wouldn't recommend the lemonade but I'm interested in trying their hot beverages next time!

  • Emily Law

This is my new favourite place to work in. There's not too many options in the south. It has a great trendy atmosphere. There's quite a few outlets under the seating. I ordered an iced chai latte and it was delicious. The coffee is from BC, the tea is from Portland, and the lemonade is from a local Edmonton company. I hope this place does well.

  • Deus Templorum

Quiet little cafe beside/inside a pharmacy of a small Business Center. Coffee and food is great though they mainly focus on beverages with a few baked goods and bubble waffles offered. Prices are average for a cafe, but still a solid choice for a stop.

This newer coffee house has opened in my area. Clean and quite atmosphere make this a delightful stop. The lattes are outstanding - perfect body, not at all bitter and the foam is done to perfection. They have a unique mild lavender latte that is worth the try! I have been here a few times now - consistently good!

  • Regine Dela Rama

Delicious waffles. Head over to snag one during the weekends! They offer cards for many occasions, they are all very cute. This café is literally right beside a pharmacy which is a bit odd. Small area but reservations can be made. Overall, friendly employees and great food. Will definitely come back for more!

  • Daniel Finley

A beautiful, neat, modern, well designed space with delicious coffees, teas, delightful pastries, sandwiches and pleasant, accommodating staff. Coffee House & Pharmacy in one place plus a medical centre walk through—a very innovative idea. They now sell specialties getting cards and wrapping papers.

  • Michael J. Viola

Great atmosphere. Clean. I liked the design that lets in natural sunlight. However, the coffee was a great disappointment. Tried both a medium roast and a decaf. Both were hopelessly bland. Also had the bubble waffle. Not stellar. I’ll give the other items on the menu a try on the next visit.

  • Carlee Mahal

Stopped in for a coffee after filling my prescription at the pharmacy. I feel like every pharmacy should have a coffee house beside it. Great atmosphere, friendly barista, delicious almond milk latte. Definitely will be coming back, glad to have somewhere with great coffee so close to home.

Cool little coffee shop! I was impressed with the quality but even more impressed with the cafe itself. The seating was perfect for getting some work done - power outlets at all tables and the staff were super professional! Overall highly recommended.

  • Mohit Dassaur

Very good beverages. No Vegan & GF options for food. The cafe is part of pharmacy. It's definitely not a cozy place. Waffles looked good though. Staff advised most cafe items are from cobs bread.

What a great vibe and delicious food. This is a hidden gem on the south side and I would recommend anyone to go. Waffles were filling, delicious, well priced and the coffee was divine. I look forward to going back and trying there whole menu!

Very clean place. Loved the bubble waffels. A definite place you must try .the atmosphere is very relaxing for a quiet coffee. They have easy to connect power supply if you are using a laptop. Great place to study with a coffee and a treat.

Charming coffee shop that’s inside a pharmacy! Had a cappuccino and a flatbread pizza to eat. Both excellent. Friendly service and I love that there are greeting cards available for purchase. I bought two cute notebooks on my way out.

  • Krys Jablonski

Southies! Hands down best latte in south Edmonton. You no longer have to drive all the way downtown, or fight with Whyte or Ritchie parking to get a great coffee! Stop in before your adventure on the Henday(you know you all use it).

  • Janice Lee

Neat concept of having a coffee shop paired with a pharmacy. Interior decor is clean, bright, and modern. The coffee is good - I had the iced americano and it was strong without being bitter. Lots of seating and friendly staff!

  • Brendan Bass

The Barista excellently crafted my latte, complete with a lovely heart on top. The cafe is equipped with a proper manual espresso machine. This is the type of well prepared coffee that made me like coffee in the first place.

  • Corey Crowfoot

Really enjoy the environment and friendly staff. Drinks come out quick, but for the hot chocolate it has varied in taste each time, I hear staff asking the other how many scoops do they do. I just want consistency for taste.

  • Summer Szaszkiewicz

Best way to describe the decor is what if an Apple store felt cozy. Friendly staff, good prices for good coffee, and honestly was just a wonderful experience to sit down on a Sunday morning and a enjoy a beverage in peace

  • Izaak Koolman

A hidden gem! Or hidden from me, anyways. They've got some cooperation with other Edmonton based businesses (such as Yelo'd and Remedy) and the drinks are great. Now that I've found it I'll absolutely be back for more.

Very strange ambiance. In a pharmacy and has a hospital-like feel. Cappuccino was average, not third wave, and no attempt at latte art. For such a “trendy” place, they could at least train their baristas properly.

  • K S

Coffee is good and the service was ok. But it’s really quite an odd place, it’s combined with a pharmacy, so when you walk in you are seated practically in the aisles of the pharmacy. Probably would not return.

  • Craig Lee

Better coffee and snacks than any chain in the area. It'd be an easy 4 or 5 stars if they could be faster. Expect long waits for even just a coffee. Coffee wasn't even brewed today 40 minutes after opening.

  • Roshani Payoe Lane

Quant little cafe that shares the space with a pharmacy. Got a hot chocolate, another time had an incredible latte. Was not disappointed. In summer good place to grab a coffee from and then go for a walk!

  • Paula Le

Like the variety of the menu and the bubble waffles! It is connected to a pharmacy (no walls separating) so there is traffic with customers going in and out. But still great atmosphere. Would return :)

  • Robin Brown

This is a nice new little spot in Edmonton. Nice bright decor and great place to stop and chill. Love the Drumroaster coffee beans! The espresso is fruity and not a hint bitter. Absolute deliciousness!

Such beautiful people operate the Awake Cafe where coffee is brewed to perfection and scrumptious waffles made to start your day..Always friendly and accommodating. A pleasure to visit.

One of the biggest rip offs I’ve seen - I actually laughed out loud at the coffee size here. $7.75 for 4oz of an iced oat latte. Don’t go here if you don’t want to get scammed.

  • DANIEL WILLIAMS

I love this coffee house. It is a short walk from my house and the coffee is delicious. The staff is also super warm and friendly and their is plenty of places to sit and chat.
