Overprived, bad communication, horrible service! Also, they try to sell women men's bikes and bikes that are waaay too small (having you basically ride "downhill" in a super aggressive position) because they are too lazy to unbox a bike. On Saturday they said they would have unboxed my new bike and have it ready for pickup Monday afternoon. I called a couple of times and they had completely forgotten about me and in the end had to throw my bike together within 30 minutes when I told them that at some point I simply would have to leave work and stop by to pick up what they promised to get together for me. They don't even try to give you a basic bike fit when you buy a new bike and explicitly ask for it, which one would think is the whole point of buying at a local store vs. simply ordering a bike on sale from a website somewhere (especially for TREK bikes). ended up taking my bike to another local bike shop for a decent fitting and it turned out my saddle was way too low making riding very painful, the fore and aft position was wrong adding strain to my knees, the handlebar and grip rotation totally off putting strain on my wrists, and the brake levers maladjusted crowding my hands. At the checkout they tried to charge me above list price for their bikes, which apparently happens a lot as the cashier admitted. I had to specifically ask for the paperwork (CD, etc) for my bike and was treated as if this was some sort of out-of-the-ordinary, special request. I can only recommend anyone, who wants to buy a new bike to stay far away from Cumberland Transit and get better prices and real service at one of the many other excellent local bike shops around Nashville. Cumberland Transit just doesn't care whether you'll be happy with the sport (and your bike) for a long time or not!

I was born and raised in Nashville and I've been shopping at Cumberland Transit since I needed to buy gear for boy scouts. I'll never set foot in that store again though, and I recommend y'all don't either. The coffee shop in the same building and run by the same owner TJ Wilts is closed because he wouldn't pay his workers a living wage. As someone that's trained baristas professionally and worked as one internationally, let me tell you the folks that actually did the work at 3 brothers were phenomenal. Kind, knowledgeable, efficient and frequently went the extra mile. All they asked for was 16 bucks an hour, which isn't very much. The living wage in Nashville for a single adult is $18/hr. Baristas like that are worth well over $20 an hour and last time I worked as one I made $30 and the owner was happy to pay me. Still, Mr. Wilt decided it was better for the community they serve to close down a cafe instead of giving workers the lowest bar of dignity and safety. If you don't pay your workers well you don't deserve to be in business, big or small. Period. Now Cumberland Transit is expensive; you'll pay a lot less at REI. But I used to pay their premium prices to support my local business community. I wish I could take every red cent I ever spent back out of Mr Wilt's pocket cause he's nothing but a petty thief himself. That's what you are when you line your pockets with cash employees need to pay their bills. They did the work, they earned the money, and underpaying them is just as good as theft in my eyes. So to all my real Nashvillians out there please join me in making sure 2024 is the last year Cumberland Transit is in business. Take your dollars elsewhere folks.

Back in the olden days, this shop was amazing. The owner's dog hung out, the people who worked there were friendly, understanding, and personable. On my last trip there, I was going to buy a nano puff jacket, a gregory pack, a down sleeping bag, and three nano vests for Christmas gifts. All I had with me was non-printed checks on a new account. They wouldn't take them (which is their right and all), and looked at me like I was trying to steal from them the whole time I was there. The employee who followed me around was not helpful, nor did they leave me alone when I said I was just looking. I wanted very much to buy local, because my experience with CT in the past had been so awesome - I have always bought my Merrell's and my down jackets there. Unfortunately, this last trip was so unpleasant I won't be going back, and they've alienated one of their biggest fans, if not a regular seasonal customer. It really astounds me because I was going to drop some serious cash on them. Oh well. YMMV

I recently decided to buy my first pair of Blundstones but wanted to purchase them in person so I could be sure the sizing was right. I figured I'd have to go to REI, but was so pleasantly surprised to find Cumberland Transit listed as an authorized retailer on Blundstone's website! I much prefer to shop locally-owned when I can, and being new to the Nashville area, had not even heard of this shop before. As soon as I approached the shoe section, I immediately had the attention of all three employees nearby, in a very attentive and helpful but not at all smothering way. One of the employees, in particular, was so helpful in helping me to decide on which color and fit I liked best, and was so kind even though I asked her to pull out at least six different boxes. She was also incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. I'm so glad I decided to shop local and will definitely be back for other outdoor-gear needs!

CT continues to have the items and product lines none of the other High End stores have discovered yet. This has been the cutting edge store in Middle Tennessee since the 1980's and it seems they have continued that tradition. I visit other stores and continue going back to CT in the end and usually find options not available or in-stock from others. Their staff and owners are second to none for knowing the areas they furnish equipment for - and will spend way more time than they probably should educating anyone who comes in for information, research, or looking to buy equipment. They are Pro's but act like family or pals to everyone who comes in. I I love everything there but my real weakness is shoes, socks, and anything ultra "High-Quality" in cloths - and they have it. If you haven't spent time just wandering around the store taking in what there - you owe it to yourself!

I moved to Nashville a couple of years ago and was fortunate enough to find Cumberland Transit by accident while looking for ENOS gear online. I have spent hours in this store looking at camping gear, hammocks, bicycles and kayaks. They even have Two Brothers coffee and tea accessible from inside the store! Be sure and check out the sili pints.. I now own four. The staff has always been very helpful and patient. I'm a very tedious shopper when purchasing outdoor gear and the staff was terrific! I recently spent two days going over every aspect of kayaks. Ronnie was outstanding; he gave lots of info and shared insight about local places to use them. We love our kayaks, our hammock systems, and our camping gear and I'll be getting some bikes from them in the next year. I couldn't ask for a better store experience.... Thanks Jason and everyone there!

Great selection, reasonable prices (considering the location). Friendly service in the bike shop too, with knowledgeable mechanics. They did have a little confusion with a repair order I put in, where they did some work I didn't ask for. They made everything right and only charged me for the original work order, and they made sure to get only the minimal rebuild kit required for the fix rather than chucking and replacing the whole component which would've upped their cost. Another time I had a return on a defective product, it was no hassle at all. They didn't give me a hard time and just swapped it right out. I reckon it's tough to compete with the big boxes these days but that kind of service is how you get loyal customers coming back, keep up the good work!

CT has been central to my outdoor recreation experience since I moved to Nashville for college 12 years ago. They helped outfit me for my first backpacking trip, sold me my first climbing rack, have fitted me for numerous pairs of shoes, kept me styling in lots of Patagonia, repaired bikes, and most importantly, provided a network of kind, helpful, knowledgeable, adventure loving friends through the years. There are lots of gear shops in this area plus online shopping of course, but none can match CT for me. To this day, every wood-creaking step I take in there reminds me of the friends, trips, and memories they’ve facilitated. Thanks Cumberland Transit. I hope you’re around for at least another 40+ years.

Cumberland Transit is incredible. This store is filled with everything you need to get outside and start your next adventure. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. They truly want to make sure that you leave happy. The bike shop is awesome, the guys who work over there are passionate about bikes and will help you pick out a new ride or fix your current one. They have a huge selection of backpacking/camping gear, men’s/women’s/children apparel, and footwear. They have a really cool fly shop and climbing section. Also check out the sale loft, you can usually find a great deal. Free parking in back and attached to a rad coffee shop.

Just left Cumberland Transit without purchasing anything. Planned to spend around $700 on a new GoPro with accessories but the employees had no idea about anything and we were just looked at with no one offering to help. We try to buy from small business but we are now headed to Best Buy where we know we will be helped. This is the third time I have not been helped at all at Cumberland Transit. Surprised they are still in business if they treat all of their customers this way. Their managers need to inform the employees on their products. Especially if these products are on display as soon as you walk in the door.

Well the first time I had a very good experience from "Neal", and can honestly say he helped me. I was having some riding issues with my road bike, "pain" in all the wrong places. Neal was very helpful and knowledgeable and didn't try to sell me on something I didnt need. But ... the saddle adjustment worked lose on a ride and I called Neal and was very disappointed that he seemed uninterested in helping me to get the orginal settings back on my saddle. So now after paying the adjustment I am back to square one; it appears they got may money for the adjustment but didn't want to stand behind it. Oh well

My son and I had a great experience shopping for his bike at Cumberland Transit. The guys that helped us were especially kind, very knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable throughout the process. They explained what to expect out of different types of bikes and went over the features with us. They were extremely helpful in recommending a bike based on my budget and my son's needs and activities without pressuring us at all. Our overall experience was stress free as well as educational. I will definitely return to Cumberland Transit and highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a bike.

  • Patrick Hulan

With my new bike there was a delay and I had to go out of town permanently to NM. I was a bit frustrated but my frustration was more with the Santa Cruz company for not communicating that there would be a delay to Cumberland transit. The bike mechanic handled the miscommunication with the factory company very well despite my frustration and the bike was shipped to me in NM and he made appropriate reparations which I put the rest together and am absolutely loving my new Santa Cruz bike! Sometimes in life we just have to roll with the punches and mistakes can be made.

Fantastic shop for all things outdoors. Excellent service and great selections. They recently took care of my 2012 Felt Virtue that I had beaten up pretty badly out on the trails (stick caught in the derailleur locked up the rear wheel and fried the hanger.) They were able to straighten out the derailleur (had to replace the hanger) and get me rolling again without me having to buy a whole new derailleur. Also had them replace cables and do a general maintenance service. Rode it the next day and the bike was good as new. Kudos to Andrew and the service crew!

  • Fred Friton

I only shop on the bicycle side and my experience has been perfect thus far. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Bicycle repairs are reasonably priced and they will work you in if the repair is minor. If it is major and during the biking season then God help you because you will not see your bike for a while. It's not that they are slow. It is because they do good work and I think everyone in Nashville brings their bikes there. The prices are a little bit higher when not on sale but still worth the service.

  • Ryan O'Connell

I recently purchased two bicycles from Cumberland Transit, and I had an excellent experience. It has been many years since I owned a bike, so I had a lot of questions about what type bike would suit my needs (and those of my teenage daughter). I worked with Aubrey, who was absolutely top-notch for his knowledge and customer service skills. He was able to address all my questions with patience and ease. I would highly recommend visiting the shop, and if you are in the market for a bike, definitely speak with Aubrey!

  • Ronald Miller

I was surprised to see the large variety and selection of products in the store. And in so many sizes and colors! I’ve never seen so many brands in one store. The sales personnel were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Very highly recommended! New review from a recent visit 1/14/2023. Cumberland Transit has a large variety of brand names and products. Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Customer service is very good. I definitely would recommend Cumberland Transit to my family and friends.

  • Rebecca King

I love Cumberland Transit because every last person working there lives for the outdoors and knows what they are talking about. They are thruhikers, cyclists, fly fishermen, climbers, trail runners; they host entertaining and informative events and really get involved in the community. CT is my first stop when I need gear, and I've never felt rushed, pressured, or ignored. My questions get answered, I take my time, and I know at the end of the day they stand by their gear and service and community.

  • Jeremy Anderson

I love this place! How I have lived in Nashville 23 years and not been here until today is beyond me. This is the quintessential outdoors store that reminds me of the ones I used to shop with my dad when I was a kid before the big chains came on the scene. Ryan was extremely helpful and friendly on the phone when I called with questions about wading boots and was just as easy going and informative when I came in to buy them. Quality products, reasonable prices, perfect ambiance and great staff!

  • victoria cumbow

This place is my go-to outdoors store. Not only is it locally owned, but the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. They hire folks who spend time outside, so the insight they bring to conversations is invaluable. They backpack, they camp, they run, they bike, they fly fish, they climb. They do it all, and it makes it so easy to walk in and ask questions. They also do educational classes and workshops from time-to-time, and they make it super easy to pick up a new hobby or enjoy a new sport.

  • nancy ryan

Great place to shop. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff. You never feel pressured to make a purchase. I love the atmosphere. They encourage you to look around and actually let you shop, but are available to assist and answeet questions. They have everything from A-Z. I have attended an evening presentation on trail running that was great. They frequently offer free after hours educational offerings. Wonderful coffee shop, too! Go hang out, you won’t be disappointed.

  • Dustin Ogdin

By far, the best outdoor goods store in middle Tennessee - none of the big box chain stores come anywhere close. Knowledgeable and helpful staff, great inventory, and customer service that goes above and beyond. I've been a customer of this store for decades, and they've only improved what was already excellent service. I've been to special events and film screenings there, too, that help support local conservation efforts. A true asset to Nashville - thank you!

  • Mark Hilton

The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I needed to get a new bike, and they helped me pick out the right one for a great deal. They gave me great advice on which attachments would be best for my lifestyle and didn't try to push more expensive products. In addition to promising any future maintenance, they offered great maintenance tips empowering me to be a better bike owner. I love my bike, and I'll definitely be going back.

  • Michael Beckham

The folks at Cumberland Transit are some of the most helpful retailers I have ever done business with. They repeatedly returned phone calls and helped me deal with a complex issue with my bike with patience and grace. The guys in the bike shop, especially Cory and Josh, provided precise information and showed technical prowess. I highly recommend Cumberland Transit bikes over any other bike shop I have dealt with in my 56 years!

  • James Prescott

Great bike & outdoors shop, first contacted them when I switched from travelling Southern Africa to Southern Eastern US as my ThermaRest sleep Matt needed repairing, they delivered the branded permanent patch kit within the hour to my hotel so I could repair it (4hour cure time) on my rest day. Then visited the shop as I left the city and got some great gloves sympathetic to the temperature swing. Thank you very much

  • M G

A great bike shop, very busy during peak seasons. Lots of people here on the weekends. Great selection. If you ride a commuter bike, I would suggest taking it in for servicing in the winter. Lead times for the shop can be 3 or more weeks during peak riding season. I think they need a bigger shop or more techs during this time frame. I'm sure they could give up some of the clothing retail space for more workshop area.

  • Eric Meyers

Worst retail experience in my life!! I went this morning to pick up a product I purchased online. I have a medical condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and I have a doctor's note. I stated I was exempt but was repeatedly harassed, asked what my condition was despite it being a violation of HIPAA and a violation of my privacy. This company has a policy of discriminating against people with disabilities.

  • Michael White

I use CT for their bike shop and the guys there are awesome. I bought my Trek Emonda from Chris and he and Kevin have helped me find the perfect fit. I also have had several repairs performed there, and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. Colin builds a perfect bike and if he can't fix your bike, probably no one can. They are unbelievably reasonably priced. I'll continue to use them!

  • Andy Garner

At 50+ years of serving as Nashville's premier outfitter, Cumberland Transit continues to offer a terrific selection in hiking, climbing, backpacking, fly fishing, cycling, and camping gear. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and eager to help. Whether you're in need of gear for a day hike, summer camp, or an Appalachian Trail thru-hike of 2,000 miles, Cumberland Transit has what you need.

  • Aaron Morales

Stopped by 10 min till they closed just to check them out. Every staff member asked me if I needed help. It was great. I didn't feel rushed, ended up buying a couple small things. I also spoke with the gentlemen in the Patagonia hat with a thigh tattoo. Dude knows his bike stuff! If you need anything bike related or outdoor gear definitely check this place out. They know what they're doing!

  • Hunter Lewis

Definitely one of the best outdoor stores in the Nashville area. They’re small, but they have a selection that will hold its own against any larger store like REI. That being said; with them being a local business you have no reason not to choose Cumberland transit over competitors. The staff is wonderful and very helpful on most any questions you’ll have. I always love coming here!

  • Benjamin Taylor

Wanted to leave a review for these guys, I came from another bike shop down the road that was pretty bad, but as soon as I walked in these guys took care of me. The bike shop down the road was trying to charge me 11 dollars for 2 bearings? These guys didnt try to over charge me, plus they actually wanted to help me solve my issue! Employees were awesome! Will be coming back!

  • Kenneth Thomas

The staff here is great and generally very knowledgeable, given that it is a bike shop that serves Vanderbilt, meaning, I have seen undergrads come here to have the air filled on their bikes. The service component is 100% professional and online with all the major distributors, not a grunge shop. Several times they have located very specially parts for custom-made equipment.

  • Wesley McClurg

I came in today with the idea of looking to purchase a hybrid bike for commuting to and from work. Not only did I find one that fit me perfect but the service was wonderful. Gabriel gave me a great deal on last year's model. It was great to be able to meet you on your last day at Cumberland Transit. Best of luck to you and I look forward to coming back here in the future.

  • Dana Schroeder

Bill has basically been my Guru as I prepared for a thru hike. He’s knowledgeable and has even hiked the Appalachian Trail twice! From bear cans, to tents or sleeping bags, he’s been the guy I go to for questions on backpacking. He’ll always give you an honest answer. Always great customer service from all staff in store. They have a lot of selection packed into there.

  • Joseph Morrison

Went to get my bike serviced. No appointment needed. The service tech was very professional, and put my bike on a stand to do a quick once over inspection while I was present. He was up front about pricing and said they would call if they found anything else and get permission before making any additional repairs. Great customer service goes a long way with me.

  • Kimberly E

Was staying near Cumberland Transit and decided to stop in. Great shop. Great name brands. Great gifts, but even better clearance area upstairs! Employees were super friendly and knowledgeable, but not pushy. Definitely visiting here again! And also kicking myself because I saw I fleece I loved and can't get it out of my head. I did buy Birks though....

  • Richard Schrade

Excellent service and good people. I came in here with problems with my P3. Keith wasted no time to take a look and see what was going on. Genuinely nice people. Turned out I had a bad link in the chain -- he replaced it on the spot and at a very reasonable price. They didn't try and up-sell me on other stuff I didn't need either. Highly recommend!

  • Jonathan Casey

I have purchased two bikes from Cumberland Transit and had them perform service on multiple bikes. Their prices have been fair, they are very up-front with expectations and cost estimates. They also stand by their work (replaced a flat for free when it occurred shortly after a recent tune-up). Great neighborhood place for bike purchase/servicing.

  • Charlotte Fahren

My bike needed a good fixing- brake cable and shifting problems. Keith was a delight and treated my bicycle with care, me with respect and encouragement. I had been set back with a broken hand and forearm; I'm riding happy, well and safe again. Thanks Cumberland Transit! Great store, coffee & tea shop linked together. I'll return next pay day.

  • Sergio Escobar torres

This is a must visit store if you are an outdoors enthusiast. I will say, however, the prices can be a little bit steep. This is somewhat compensated for by the large clearance selection. However, they are final sale so be sure to make up your mind. Employees are very nice and we do like to visit whenever nearby. Thanks!

  • charles golden

Customer service! And products actually in the store inventory not just online! Why would I go to a brick and mortar location only to be told I could order it online (REI)? Sad the East Nashville location didn’t work out but we will support this store as long as it stays as great as it always has been! Bravo!

  • Melanie Tomlyn

I needed a hiking pack for an upcoming trip. The idea of looking was completely overwhelming. Found Cumberland Transit and figured they would be a good place to start. I had such a good experience! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to find exactly what I needed for a reasonable price.

  • Hank Hulan

Locally-owned gear shop with an exceptional staff. Whether you want to hike your local park or a section of the AT, run your first trail race or your first 100 miler, ride around your neighborhood or go full-on bikepacking, the staff at CT has done it. My go-to for great advice and gear recommendations.

  • J

I truly appreciate small businesses that have served a community for many decades. This is one of those businesses that I will always support. Great selection and inventory. A pleasant surprise was finding empty parking spaces in front of the store - don't forget a few quarters to put in the meters.

  • Karen Harr

Picked up some wonderful outfits on my last visit. I visit here for their shoe department, and found really comfortable casual dresses, shorts and shirts. I like that it's an outdoor store with the best brands, but the selection is not the same stuff you see at other stores. They have good buyers.

  • Kyle Bransfield

Service was outstanding. Employees were engaged and very knowledgeable. Cash vs credit card refund policy needs attention. Not acceptable and needs to be addressed. Fantastic inventory and a great independent brand that stands out in a sea of corporate big box retailers. -NOLS Alum New in Nashy

  • ndurache adaba

This is a fantastic place to shop if you’re looking for gear for outdoor activities. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable there and you just have to tell them what you need and they will hook you up.. they also have a full Bike Shop if you need help with Fixes and Servicing

  • Kyle Smiley

Personable and friendly and small town feel in a big town. I’ll be going here as much as possible. Big corporate chains are overpriced, pressure you to buy, don’t have stock, and often don’t know what they’re talking about. Cumberland is the answer to avoiding all of those issues

  • Caitlin Nunyabiz

Brought my MTB in to have the brakes installed after attempting to change them out myself. Had lots of trouble so I took it into Cumberland, and let them know that I'm a novice mountain biker and that any advice is appreciated. They treated me so well, and were very informative.

  • Kane Bell

I stopped in on my lunch break to check out mountain bikes. These guys are so cool they insisted that I go on a test ride and we rode around Nashville together for half an hour. Haven't had this much fun in so long. Amazing experience and more than friendly helpful staff. 11/10

  • David Herren

Cumberland Transit gave me an awesome buying experience when I bought my first high-end road bike. The staff was very knowledgeable and sold me the bike I needed. They answered all my questions and were very pleasant. I'll buy all my biking equipment from Cumberland Transit!

  • James Scott

There is no other place in Nashville like Cumberland Transit. You want help from someone with actual real world experience when it comes to Cycling, Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Hiking, Running, Camping? Go to Cumberland Transit. You won’t be disappointed. ❤️

  • Michael

I came into town from Bentonville Arkansas bikes in tow on my Yakima hitch rack. Well I left the key and we had one bike locked on. They came outside with over 60 keys. Emma “I think” helped me so much. The whole staff was incredible. Bought a Cumberland hat while in.

  • Jeff Rossini

Andrew in the bike shop was great to work with. He was patient with me and offered very helpful input as I worked through my own "discernment" of which mountain bike to buy. It was a very no pressure "sales" experience and I'm very pleased with the purchase I made.

  • Taylor Ellison

My boyfriend and I bought our new Trek bikes here and had an absolutely wonderful experience with everyone who helped us! Will be using this store for all future outdoorsy shopping purposes from now on! So glad we found them ☺️ 100/10 would recommend to a friend

  • Chris York

Was ignored by bike sales & svc staff. They were mostly interested in talking about their upcoming rides. In the past, when I got service, it was top flight. Of course, that WAS when I picked up a new bike. I'm sure I'll be back, but not on a Saturday.

  • Isik Turker

The people I personally met in here were really nice, helpful and friendly. However, there appears to be some communication problem in between themselves. My bike had sat there for more than a month waiting for a part. Then they called and

This store is a hidden gem in Nashville. I've been in the store about 4 to 5 times now in the past eight months and am continually impressed by the shear variety of brands and products that they carry. On a recent occasion, I was able to

Employees seem to want to give customers their full attention so you may end up waiting on an associate for longer than expected if you come at a busy time. Wait your turn and you'll be given better customer service than anywhere in town!

I am one of the few native Nashvillians and a longtime customer of Cumberland Transit. This place is great and it's been fun to see it grow and change with the times. They seem to really care about their customer and enjoy what they do.

  • Jennifer Harris

My 16 year old son and I had the best experience purchasing a bike, helmet and all the safety gear we needed. The staff was knowledgeable, patient, and so helpful. I would highly recommend a visit to this gem of a bike store!

  • James Guthrie

I love the familiarity of the staff--their familiarity with the products, their uses, and the surrounding areas, and also seeing the same faces every time I go in. They're both expert and local, and I appreciate it so much.

  • David Fugate

This rating go out to the guys at Cumberland Transit Bike Shop. All of the guys and girl provide excellent service, including bike repairs at a reasonable price. Great turn around time also on repairs.....Thank you David F

  • Andy Garner

Nashville's original, and still very best, outfitter! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. These folks are the real deal. If you're serious about getting outfitted for an upcoming adventure, this is the place to go.

  • Maggie Plaia

I walked in looking for rock climbing gear and Jeffery helped us. We had little knowledge and he was extremely helpful. He made the purchasing and understanding of the products clear. Awesome store will only shop there!

  • Brilliant Bllue

If you get your bike repaired here you will NOT be taken care of. What I mean is, don't expect to be treated like they want you as a repeat customer. They have $2 policies that wouldn't be broken to save your life.

  • John Michael Barraza

Superb service, as usual. Bought my five year old’s second bike. Everything was taken care of with attention to HER wishes/needs, as before. I’ll continue to buy all my family’s bikes through Cumberland Transit.

  • Lindsay Moorman

Even before becoming a Cumberland Transit Ambassador, I found CT always had (and still has) a variety of quality products, knowledgeable personnel, and is an all around friendly and welcoming outdoors store.

  • Andrew Clancy

Cumberland Transit is our go-to outfitter. Their team offers expertise for any fly fishing, hiking or trail running questions. Plus, you can grab a great coffee from Three Brothers while you get your gear.

  • Savannah Stark

Our favorite outdoors shop in Nashville and we always love supporting local if possible. They have everything you could need from climbing gear, fishing, hiking and more! We prefer them over REI honestly.

  • Diana Feliciano

Went in for a tune up for my bike. They did such a great job! The work was a quick turn around and my bike is ready for the spring! They cleaned it too which was nice because I brought it in pretty muddy.

  • Elsa Rodarte

Fun store! It's like a wooden cabin on the inside. We bought a Patagonia jacket and the nice man there suggested multiple hiking trails and gave us a map. We took his suggestion and loved Grundy Forest.

  • Franklin Nouvet

Wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable staff. No one was pushy but their recommendations were on point. I went for running/hiking gear and they had best selection. Great gift items. Amazing sale rack!!!

  • Janos Mathe

My favorite bike shop in Nashville with friendly staff and a great selection of outdoor gear. If you have complicated bike related questions, don't hesitate to ask Jake, he is a phenomenal guy.

Very nice store & knowledgeable friendly staff. Good selection of biking, hiking, fishing & outdoor apparel. Lacks in kayaking & parking. High end equipment & prices

Awesome place. Guy watched my bike outside while I shopped. Another employee had a creative solution for a wheel strap. Will go back when I'm in Nashville again.

Outstanding! I feel like it is a smaller but much more accessible & welcoming version of REI. The staff are very friendly/helpful and the prices are very fair.

  • Martin Frank Wong

Good people! Great bike work! I had an issue that couldn't be solved by 2 other mechanics and he fixed in 10 mins. Man these chaps know what they are doing!

Amazing local outdoor recreation store. Knowledgeable staff for gear and bike maintenance/repairs. Would recommend to anyone over one of the higher stores!

  • Will Amundson

Nice staff and decent "local prices" - probably not going to fine deals that beat the internet. But if you shop out of season there are some amazing deals.

The people at Cumberland Transit are always friendly and right on top of whatever I need. I'd highly recommend them for all your bicycle riding needs.

As always, I was thrilled with the level of customer service and attention. Certainly one of the better outfielders you'll ever visit.

Super happy with CT. I've been here many times and always enjoy the store and staff. I prefer to support a smaller business over REI.

Personal service. Decorated the way an outdoor store should be (I love how it feels the moment I walk in the door). Great products.
