Brought my bike in for a tire repair and brake tune-up. Was greeted by a short blonde hag who appeared to me as a spectre of youths wasted potential. My bike is foldable and electric, and the clerk(apparently owner) was oozing peanut-butter and jealousy as she regarded my mode of transportation. She said that because my bike was unorthodox, it would require extra time and thus incur an extra charge. Fine. She said that she would need to look online for the manual in order to remove the wheel and inspect the tire. I offered to email her the manual to make it easier, but she snidely refused. I should have just left right then and there, but like a man with a flat tire at a tire shop, I was trapped. I imagine this sort of desperate situation makes up the vast majority of her clientele. I’d wager that her rate of customer retention is zero, or very close to it, but this is besides the point. I was later called when my bike was ready. She referred to my bike by its brand name, mockingly. When I came to pick it up, she referred to me directly as the brand name, choosing to use “brand-name” as a pejorative. Extremely professional. Stupidly, I also bought an overpriced helmet from the same establishment during that visit. When inquiring about possible accessories to add to the bike to preserve its lifespan, I was told not to bother, that my bike was cheap, and that I should ride it until it is no longer usable(which would be soon, in her opinion). It’s worth mentioning that despite the owners air of superiority, the repair was done poorly, my brakes still squeal, and everything has a permanent feels-like-every-screw-in-the-machine-was-loosened feeling and incessant rattle that was not there previously. Overall, I would recommend that you not shop here. The service is sub-par, the owner is rude(and apparently can’t go without having the last word, as you can see from her constant replying and back pedaling on several reviews), and the prices are outrageous. I payed $40 for a flat tire. Not worth.

Loved my experience at Dashing! Greg helped me and there was another person in the back doing repairs/building bikes I did not catch the name of. Both of them were patient and kind. Greg listened to what I was looking for and was incredibly helpful without making me feel like a dummy for knowing so little about bikes in general! Sometimes as a woman walking in spaces that are traditionally male centric I feel like I’m prepping to feel like I’m not smart enough to be in the space but I can say confidently these employees were attentive and smart without being sales-y or snooty at all. It’s great knowing that by buying a bike locally I can bring it in for help and repairs covered by their inshop warranty for a year!! Take that, amazon. Thanks for a pleasurable experience dashing crew and I can’t wait to pick up my bike in a few days!

This is my go to bike repair shop. It’s a nice little bike shop which is open 7 days a week! You can’t beat that with a base ball bat! They have always done an excellent job with my bike needs as well as explained everything step by step and their prices are reasonable. I have had my tire repaired, chain replaced and handlebar grips replaced. The staff has always been courteous and respectful to me. Recently I had an accident on my bike and my gear shift is not working correctly. I called Dashing and got all the information I needed about repair or replacement over the phone including being told they provide free estimates. I plan on going back there to get the gears looked at and repaired/ replaced.

Staff goes out of their way I had a broken hand and couldn't ride outside at the time. Due to the injury. Icouldn't put the bike I purchased on a smart trainer The owner let Paul actually stop by my apt to put it on the trainer for me. After I ordered Look pedals from them, they called to tell me they had a used pair they could sell if I wanted to save some money. If you're only interested in the Big Four brands, you may look elsewhere I suggest not limiting yourself; the brands they sell are high quality. I bought a Diamondback gravel bike that was a much better setup than a Specialized I was looking at, and was a much better price point than the Trek. Great place.

I've been to Dashing Bicycles several times - for service, for purchasing merchandise, for browsing, for community events, and for education workshops - and every time I've come here, I've left with exactly what I was looking for. Marin and her staff are knowledgeable, courteous, kind, and fairly priced. They're extremely involved in their community which makes them a trusted resource for other nearby needs (food, drink, air for tires, etc.) I prefer to support businesses owned by women whenever possible, and Dashing Bicycle has earned and definitely deserves that support!

I have a motorized bicycle and blonde lady who works there treated me like I was a bicycle rapist....get a life girl it's a bicycle ....be nice to people ...asked if 1 of the guys could tighten my rear sprocket .....she said nastily we dont work on THOSE BIKES!!!!!...guy comes out and says oh I can do that real fast ....she looked at him like she was going to eat him.....then told me it would take 3 days to tighten a rear sprocket ....I did it in 10 min....at home.....once again get a life lady it's just bicycles ...and be nice

I’ve had my bikes serviced here for a couple of years, and they’ve always done a great job at a fair price. But today they really went above and beyond. I lost my car key on a quick ride around the block. If you’ve ever lost a smart key, you know that it’s an easy couple hundred bucks to replace it plus a tow. I was very upset. It took me over an hour to find it, and they came outside to help me look on a very hot afternoon. Not all businesses would do that for their customer. They’ll be my shop from here on out.

  • Lindsay Sproul

There are many great things about this bike shop—but if you read the negative reviews, they’re all about the woman who runs it, who is rude and belittling. I bought a bike here because they had the one I wanted in stock (and I’m happy with the bike), but I’ll never shop here again because of the customer service. Many friends of mine have similar complaints about this woman. Sad, because this shop has so much potential. Especially because I always want to support female run businesses.

2 bikes- one new chain, a whole new gear shift, and adjustments on both of them that made them SOOOO much nicer to ride! They had them both ready for me within 24 hours. I basically told dashing bike sim willing to spend 50 on each if needed to fix the gears and they delivered with better price than expected! I had tried to get one of the gears fixed before somewhere else and they said it would cost more than $70. Thanks dashing bikes!

My go to place for bicycle repairs Uptown! Tried three different bicycle shops before Dashing would work on my ebike! Bicycle World and Ebike Nola refused to work on ebikes they didn't sell. The Bike Shop refused to work on ebikes period. I had fixed a flat on the rear tire and it had a wobble after repairs. Dashing looked at it and said a slot/washer wasn't set right on the rear tire! Thanks for taking care of it right away Dashing!

Paul helped me pick out a nice bike to enjoy my beautiful city with. I thought it was so great I decided to get one for my wife as well. I tested out three bikes on test rides including riding the one I eventually chose twice. They only let one person in the store at a time because of Covid protocols, which was appreciated. This is the kind of local shop I’d love coming back to again and again.

  • Wade Halstead

Very glad that I found this place. Nice and friendly, no negativity or surliness of some shops. I special-ordered a Raleigh gravel bike, and they made it happen with ease. I like the energy of this place, too. It's an urban bike shop; so there's a lot of traffic, needing flats fixed and derailleurs adjusted. They manage it well, balancing that with taking care of other patrons.

  • Ayman Soubra

I needed my wheel changed. I dropped off my bike at bicycle Michael for repair since I live next door, and they told me it will be done in 2-3 days. One week later they kept telling me I’m next in line to get the repair done. After 13 days I just went and got my bike from them and brought it to dashing bicycles, they fixed it for me in 90 min. Great customer service too

  • Kevin Minsky

I randomly rolled in there cause my head set was afu, they set me right within 30 min and it was totally worth what I was charged. I recommend to everyone all the time. Definitely I choose over Gerken’s anytime. The staff is totally rad and willing to help and offer solutions for anything you want, without hitting you hard for the dead presidents.

  • Corey Johnson

Great selection, great service, great people. I ordered my E-bike through them, and they fully assembled it for me, have been extremely supportive, and all for a very modest service charge on top of what I would have paid had I shipped it to my apartment and had to assemble it myself. See them for cycling related needs. They’ll take care of you!

  • Molly Mann

Absolutely LOVE Dashing Bicycles! The owners and the staff alike are not only talented, they are beyond fairly priced with an exceptional inventory. We've purchased everything from parts to accessories and even apparel from them. Additionally, they have a quick turnaround time which is beyond helpful when you're an avid Rider. Thank you!!

  • Anita M

BEST BIKE SHOP IN NOLA! The nicest, friendliest, straight-forward, and most helpful dudes. They are prompt in letting you know when to pick up your bike and take the time to explain what repairs your bike has undergone. They are great at fixing what is needed and not charging a cent more. When my partner and I come here it’s like Cheers.

  • Ted Morée

My saddle came loose when a nut fell off on a ride. These guys helped me get home safely, first trying to give me the part for the repair, then hooking me up with a great deal on a b-stock saddle. Very friendly & professional, and great vibes in the shop (Sisters of Mercy came on while I was there). Definitely earned my future business.

  • Jess

Really like this small bike shop. Nice selection. Feels welcoming. The owner(?) was super helpful in talking me through which bike would work for me. She also seems to like teaching people about bikes in general. I think they'll also have bike 101 classes in the fall (so I'm told). Price points seem less expensive than bayou bikes.

  • Paul Reardon

Have been a regular at Jazz Fest now for about a decade and ended up here after my botched bike reassembly after the flight from NH. VERY fair pricing, quick service and walked me through what they did. Will bring the box I packed going home to her unopened for great service once again. Great vibe, highly recommended. Thanks.......

  • Kyle McLean

I have both bought parts and had my bike tuned up at Dashing multiple times. Every time I need work done, I have been very satisfied with the labor and the turnover time. New Orleans can be unforgiving on bicycles-having a local shop for the commuters like me has been invaluable and I will continue to support Dashing!

  • Shawn O'Brien

Wish I'd asked the name of the uber-helpful friendly guy who helped me. I went there prepared to have two tire repairs and he was honest enough to tell me I only needed air! Bought some great accessories instead and left happy. He was a doll, the place has a great vibe, and I'm thrilled to have them in the 'hood.

  • Glenn Browne

Hey guys. I want to thank you, and your staff for your professional attitude in the line of work you do. I brought my bike to your shop this morning, and you diagnosed the problem I was having with the gears on the bike. I had no idea the sprockets were the wrong ones. But again, thank you. Glenn & Carla B.

  • Tony Hernandez

  • Winston

Dashing was great prompt appointment, and faster than expected tune up . They also offered some great in-store accessories that were super convenient . the location has limited parking though so be aware if you are dropping your bike off by car.

  • Lynn Cai

Went there today to fix a loose headset. Turns out my bike only needed to be tightened a bit with an allen screw. Service was quick and professional, and the price was very affordable. Will definitely come back again, and recommend to friends!

  • Meh Pr
