Wish I could give 3.5 stars. It's really a pretty good dog park and I do enjoy coming here. I recommend bringing a water dish. The bottom fountains are clogged pretty regularly (which is understandable because pups get dirt and gravel in them etc). Also I know some dog parks stock poop bags, but I've yet to see that either at this one. There are places for bags but they're forever empty. I always bring my own bags, but a lot of people don't. Thankfully I see a lot of folks bring their plastic grocery bags to share, but there is still dog poop on the ground every time I go. Especially when those grocery bags I mentioned run out. Most of the people I've met have been wonderful. I have yet to see any dogs break out in fights etc. The park bathroom isn't too far and there's a qt the block over.

I have spent a lot of time at the park the past few years. The dog park gets pretty busy there are two separate areas of the dog park. One for bigger and one side is for smaller. The playground area is covered but I've seen people find some "bad' items appear there which is disturbing. The fields are well maintained. There was a short-mid length period where ... I wouldn't say the homeless but I will say the people that smoke blues/pills were getting out of hand. When you don't want any kids or myself to use the restroom because of the drug issue it's bad! So I Have to say when I recently went it appeared as the park has been getting rid of the past problem. It was more peaceful/light feeling and definitely smelled better.

Upside: Biggest dog park I have ever seen. Multiple accommodations for sports, such as baseball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc. Well-furnished playground for kids, and even a swimming pool. There are also benches and gazebos provided for picnicking, with trash cans and recycling bins placed throughout the park. Downside: Not the safest place to be at night. The few areas that were consistently lit well would be the dog park, restrooms (only near the community center), and select accommodations for sports (some may have a broken light or two). The parking lot and the playground are dark as the night. Also, the homeless are scattered throughout the park, so be careful where you walk.

Family favorite park. We have been enjoying this park for over 10 years. The park is well maintained. Playground is always clean and the few times there was an issue with the equipment it was closed off to prevent injury and is always promptly fixed. Like almost all other parks there are a few transient "residents" but these folks keep to themselves and they treat the park with respect, cleaning up their personal items and trash, never being an issue even with the kids, they stay away from the play area completely. The dog park is fenced off so they have their own area away from children and recreation areas. Great park for kite flying!!

I like to go to the Deer Valley Park at lunchtime. Sometimes, I'm a little upset at people parking there and sleeping in their cars or motorhomes. I do like seeing people walking their dogs and it's a nice big park with a great playground for the kids. A community center is on the northwest side of the street. It's a really nice park, also there is a community pool as well.
Playground
A nice big playground is available for the kiddos. Lots of playthings to keep them busy.
Dog-friendliness
A nice playpen for the dogs to run around.
Picnic area
Places for families to have a nice picnic.

The Dog Park My Bo loves the dog park here. He gets so excited about coming here and socializing with other dogs. There are two areas open: Large Dogs and Small Dogs. The third is always under maintenance so they rotate the areas. Please bring your own Poop bags! The park does not provide free Poop bags and some owners are not prepared. They leave Poop everywhere its annoying. If your dog is aggressive please keep them on a leash and walk them around the caged areas so they first get familiarized first don't just let them loose. And for crying our loud don't bring your sick dog here ‍♂️

I lived in this neighborhood for 17 years. This park used to be so nice, but as the homeless problem has risen dramatically around the valley. This park has become a homeless shelter, tons of homeless sleeping in this park on a nightly and daily base. They have cardboard little shelters everywhere. It's horrible. If I was a woman or even myself as a man I sometimes don't feel all too safe in this park anymore. It's truly a shame that this city has gotten this way and it's not just this park only, it's all around the valley.

  • Zack Ball

It’s a mostly nice park except there are man-made holes randomly placed throughout the field. Don’t want to play frisbee or do any kind of running here unless you want to risk twisting an ankle. There are lines of them in places and then some by themselves and there’s no apparent order to any of it. I’ve noticed this trend of holes all over many Phoenix parks and I really hate it, this one is one of the worst offenders though. Please stop digging holes in the park, maybe fill in the ones that are already everywhere. Thanks

This is a huge Park but as much as half of it is nothing but finely crushed dirt not really usable for much of anything and the other half is grass. A good portion of this park looks like it is just water catchment for overflow from rain. But there are other things here, there's a fenced dog area, there are tennis courts, swing sets, and so on and so forth. Everybody here seemed quite nice and friendly there was a lot of salsa music being played and everybody was singing making for a happy light atmosphere.

  • Randy Cox

Me and my pup are big fans of the Deer Valley Dog Park! I'm our opinion it's one of the best dog parks in this part of town. It's got 3 large fields, one for big dogs one for small dogs and one that's resting. All of the fields have a shade structure, and a water fountain for dogs and humans. Lots of benches and usually loads of friendly dogs on the weekends. We have never had any issues here all the owners we have met are very friendly, and have not witnessed any aggressive dogs here.

  • Drama Lovesme

Deer Valley Park is a great place to spend time with family and friends. There’s an amazing dog park that’s kept clean and in the evening there’s a lot of adorable dogs in the large and small dog areas. There’s a water slide and pool here for those hot summer months with pool attendants and life guards always present. The parking is great with plenty of spaces, just wish there was more shade in the lot. It’s next door to a QT and a Burger King if you get hungry / thirsty.

  • Savannah Butler

Lots of space, small and big dog separated into different spaces. Most all of the regular dogs that visit this park are very well behaved dogs with awesome owners, however there are a few trouble children dogs that do visit this park with owners that have no control over their dogs. But that's probably true for any dog park. All dog owners should take responsibility for their dogs actions, and be able to identify and correct problem behaviors that can lead to fights.

  • Focalist Native

One of the larger and more well maintained parks in North Phoenix. You can find most amenities you would need here. Basketball, tennis courts, large playground section, tons of space for kites, RC planes and running with the dogs. There is also a great public pool that shares the same parking lot. The community center has indoor basketball, table tennis, a teen room and other activity spaces. Overall not the newest park, and no rock walls, but a north valley staple.

  • Jessica Whitney

I like the park. Just like anywhere you go anymore it has its positives as well as negatives. The dog park seems always busy which it's nice to see people out with their pets. It's always nice to see parents out with their children instead of handing them electronics and sending them on their way. I know everyone complains about the homeless but if they took a minute to talk to people and hear their story they would realize not everybody is really all that bad.

  • Jonathan Peters

The playground for the children is safe and wonderful for climbing, running and playing. There are trash cans as well as recycling bins all around this park. Includes a nice tennis courts area as well as a dog park. Unfortunately there are no restrooms on site. And because of there being a dog park within proximity of the children's playground you will get a dog or two at the CHILDREN'S playground. Because of that I give this park a three star review.

  • Bianca Garcia

I personally love this park. It has an amazing dog park for small and large dog breeds and they have plenty of space to run around and socialize. The park also has accessible water for the pups and visitors. There's a little bit for everyone to enjoy! Not too many ramadas for gatherings but plenty of grass space for Picnics there's a Quick Trip in walking distance with bathrooms and of course you can fill up on snacks and drinks!

  • Donelle Vanaken

This park is where I always take my furry babies! They absolutely love running and playing with all the dogs in a nice kept up area. Most of the people are friendly and welcoming and always willing to chat with you or play with the dogs there is always bowls and never large messes to deal with. There are 3 large areas for dogs and they rotate them around from time to time as to which type or size of dog goes in which area.

  • Peteys Ponderings

Limited shady spots to park, only a couple shaded Ramada. Pretty good shade on playground overall though and decent bench set ups. Bathrooms pretty far from playground and a rough metal set up. Multiple swing sets, slides and various things to climb for all size kids! Also, great dog park here. 2 separate runs with lots of space, some trees and benches with some shaded areas. Pretty good park overall!

  • Marsha Burton

I live in a small neighborhood and this is a small Park with lots of features. Dog Park, tennis courts, exercise equipment all the way around the outskirts. As a small neighborhood we keep this park pretty clean. Parks and recs does a great job! Is a very well-kept Park. And very very family-friendly. We love the community center also - the community center bring tons of value

  • Alyssa Crass

Boyfriend took our kids here today because it was nice outside for once but noticed something that really bothered him. There's better lighting in the dog park area than the playground and parking lot. That's kind of disturbing to us, considering both women and children commonly visit parks and their safety should be top priority. Please fix this issue immediately.

  • Brett Babb

Use to take my doberman there before she past , she would go Crazy for those huge Sprinklers . The park has the work-out stations thru out the park , small & large Dog parks. Although never took my baby there , She didn't play well with other's. Looks clean & grassy. Morning's are usually best for a visit. So get some fresh air for yourself and your animal.

  • Mark Whittaker

I've been going to Deer Valley Park for years. I came here as a kid and have enjoyed it so much, that I brought my child, as well. It offers everything that a park should and even has a community center that offers additional recreational resources.
Dog-friendliness
It has a beautiful dog run.
Picnic area
Filled with picnic resources.

  • Ann Maria Thomas

Good park. Pet friendly. Pretty neat and clean. Nice playground for kids. Clean indoor and outdoor bathrooms. Benches are located at different part of the ground. Also so many homeless people are there during evening and night. Best place for jogging and running. Grounds are available for playing football, baseball, basketball, tennis etc.

  • Spike

Nice park, clean, very VERY dog friendly. There is also.a place for kids of all ages to play as well as a soccer field, basketball court, volleyball setup, and plenty of open grassy area for whatever else you may desire. They could do with more picnic benches but all in all I was just as comfortable sitting in the grass with my family.

  • Sebastian Loveless

During the day the park is great. Lots of sidewalks and grass. I use the park a lot for PokemonGo. We have large group meet ups to walk the park and hang out with each other. There is a great/large playground that is clean and well covered. There is a newish dog park that is well kept and everyone is very friendly. Lots of parking.

  • Jasmine Castillo

We hadn't been to this park and we live like 5 minutes away. We discovered there's a tennis court, basket ball courts, baseball field and 2 playgrounds one for big kids and one for small kids. Perfect for my 9 and 5 year old. There was also a dog park and as we walked around the park there were workout stations. Great family park.

  • Lydia Allred

Be very careful at this park. I was almost trafficked or mugged from here by a few men who followed me to the parking lot in broad daylight. Thankfully I noticed their behavior and approached a dog owner and they ran off when they saw me talk to him. Definitely do not leave children unattended and be mindful of your surroundings.

  • Katie Johnson

Love DV!!!! My family is there A LOT!!! We love basketball so rather it's to catch our son's game, a game or two, shoot around, or basketball training... We are there! The kids love playing pool, ping pong, doing puzzles, our little one playing with Legos...etc always something to do! The staff is so sweet too and helpful!

  • Boom Beard

Big kinda grassy area for your dogs to run. There tends to be more kids at this dog park, running around and getting knocked over by dogs. This one is nice when there aren't many people around. It will get packed to the point where it's to much right around the rush hour times 3-7. Plan around that and you should be good.

  • Mani Gandan

I like coming to this park. It is wide open and full of fun. Time to time they organize events/activities at this location. Recently been here for the fireworks show and it was well organized. Had some trouble in get the vehicle parked as it was full but the staff were friendly & courteous in helping me out.

  • A Clarified Woman

Did not take any photos this visit. Nice open park for walking. Lots of kids groups do doing various things, family's spending time outside together, and the ice cream truck was trolling the parking lot. Plenty of trash receptacles which was nice. Did not go into the bathrooms so no opinion on that.

  • Wendy Wilkinson

Great place to bring the whole family including your four legged ones! The dogs can enjoy the dog park, the kids can play, and you can the walk the many different paths around the whole park! And for the Pokemon GO fans like myself there is plenty of poke stops and gyms for raid battles.

  • James Bannister

Have been going to this park since 2005. Always has been a great park to come to usually clean and well kept and lots of friendly people i have met here.. Has only gotten better over the years. Qt was a great edition to the area. Pretty quiet and love the July 4th shows hosted here.

  • Shae Petroff

Tennis courts are decent but not great. Signage for tennis only, but frequently see people bringing their dogs in even though there's a dog park nearby. Although I'm sure the dogs would love it, I don't play tennis in the dog park, so I wish they wouldn't dog in the tennis court.

  • Chad English

Cool winds when the sprinklers are on which are WONDERFUL to run thru and cool down. Anywhere to sit in shade bc there's plenty of big trees.
Restrooms
There's soap, and a sink but only one stall has a door and the sink is usually clogged but on a good day it's acceptable

  • Joshua Freitas

I bring my dog to the bark park here daily. It's a great park, there's usually at least one other dog every time we visit, and there's cool equipment for the dogs to play on. Biggest downside is it's very dusty. Prepare to bathe your furry friend after every trip!

  • Valerie Brooks

We enjoy coming to this park more so now then before. We appreciate the remodel and will continue to visit this park. We also enjoy the new dog park that's been added. We also a good game of Pokemon GO , pokestpos close to the playground area. <3

  • Samantha Victors

The playground was great. I have a 3 year old granddaughter so the equipment was appropriate and fun for her. The dog park was not so great. Guy had a couple of his dogs that are not all that friendly, biting a few of the dogs. People were

  • A. Moore

Nice place where you can feel at ease to let your four leg kids to run around and meet new fur friends. 06/2022 I feel bad for those people who seem to be living in there area of this park, and that has to put up with Arizona's heat. ☹️

  • Creatlive Flo

Our family loves Deer Valley Park! There not lying about space either, no matter the size of the event this park is capable of being a host to many including your pet dogs. They built this park with a older and toddler jungle gym, 4 pairs

  • Ji Brown

Very nice area and surprisingly not a ton of dog poop even though they lack bags. The people we're nice and friendly. The reason I give it a 4 is because they separate big and small dog areas. My dogs don't like big dogs running at them I

  • Blood Feather

By far the favorite hang out for our pups. Very clean, and the dog owners are friendly too. You can let your dog play in a enclosed play area with grass, and when they are done, take a walk and watch some baseball or tennis, or get

  • Richard Ramos

Went to the pool at the park and it was a great way to beat the heat for cheap. Highly recommend for those days you want to get outaide when it's too hot to do most activities. Friendly staff and only $3 per adult, kids are free.

  • Jeanette Miles

Too many homeless is affecting the area. Bathrooms are sortof decent but most of the time its just a port a potty. Trash is beginning to pile also. Other than that the dog park and playground haven't been compromised in any way.

  • Stacy Smith

Clean and well maintained parked. Great playgrounds, three dog runs (small, medium and large) and a fun workout trail that's just under a mile long. Definitely one of my favorite places in Phoenix for some light recreation!

  • Donna Ashton

I love bringing Miss McGillicuddy to play with her friends here. There is so much room to run freely and develop social relationships with other dogs/owners. Everyone has been so friendly. My pup loves it here and so do I.

  • Lilys Kahu

It wasn't the cleanest the few times I've been there. Only go there if I'm pressed for time. Each time I've been there there's a part about 5 or 6 cars in the parking lot where people are living out of their cars More

  • JOE HAIA

This place is ok. Don't go here when it's dark, yow'mean? An average Phoenix park. The playground and dog area are normal. This is a very large park. QT nearby is nice to have if restrooms are closed.

  • Brad Kingston

This is a shared park between the normal people of society and the homeless of this area. Kids and people playing basketball and homeless dudes and their shopping carts. Sharing is caring.

  • teresa samuels

Used to be a good park, but while there with my grandson at Tball practice, there were homeless all around the bathrooms, and it appeared as if some were doing drug deals. Not ok...

This is one of Phoenix’s best parks in my opinion. It’s huge, lots of community activity and an all around chill spot to enjoy in the middle of the asphalt jungle!

This park is nice spacious and probably one of the best parks during the day time at night though it has a lot of shady characters and it doesn’t feel as safe.

Nice dog park. Small and large are separated. For Phoenix the grass is pretty good. They rotate the fields. We enjoy this dog park.

  • Cera Sela

The new playground is beautiful, but NO grass for kids. Instead the dogs park is green and pretty. Wrong priorities …
