On March 21, I contacted the law firm of Florin Gray Bouzas Owens for a consultation after being referred by another attorney. The final product was a thin, poorly thought out form letter that represented a "consultation" that was signed by Gregory A. Owens, Esq. I called and the receptionist put me through to a paralegal. She asked me questions in a highly scripted manner. There were long pauses between questions where I had to allow her time to type, so while the conversation took 19 minutes, much of it was silence on my part. I could hear background conversation and the sound of keyboard typing. It felt like a call center experience rather than a quality consultation. I explained to her in as much detail as I could about my complaint, the background of it, and where we were in the process. She answered that an attorney "may or may not get back to you". It was a thoroughly insufficient and unsatisfying interaction. I do not feel that the conversation provided a chance to even offer a proper "Cliff's Notes" version, much less the evidence and documentation I had assembled. After hearing nothing further from them, a thin form letter arrived in the mail several days later. It was dated March 22, the day after this conversation. It started with "Dear Ms. XXX". Never mind that I am a man, but it is indicative of the attention to detail and care built into the process of this firm and shown by this attorney. What follows is far worse. "Below is a list of potential resources to assist you:" -Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (Been doing that for months. Did you not listen to my answers to your questions about that?) -United States Department of Labor (Yes...just call the toll free number and have fun navigating their phone menu. Good luck) -National Employment Lawyers Association (What?) -Your local bar association (Again...what?) And of course, the obligatory "if you need assistance in the future, we hope you will consider our firm again." This horrible letter was signed, "Gregory A. Owens, Esquire" He did not bother taking my call. Instead, he just ordered his assistant to send out a form letter rejecting the case. I can only presume he did so after a cursory glance through the notes that resulted from my thoroughly insufficient conversation with the paralegal. It is OK to not take a case. It is OK to screen potential clients. I had spoken to six law firms and every single one had personally given me the courtesy of a quality consultation from an attorney either by phone or in person. A couple of them took less time than the 19 minutes I spent talking to the paralegal. Had Mr. Owens done so, I would likely be writing an entirely different review. Instead this firm developed this terrible process, presumably to avoid the partners having to "waste time" talking to potential clients. In that same spirit, I offer you the benefit of my bad experience with Mr. Owens and this firm. For a quality consultation to hire a lawyer, call elsewhere so that you will not have to "waste time". Mr. Owens did follow up with an e-mail to me apologizing for the letter and the bad experience with his firm. But nothing else changed. He showed zero interest in my problem or why I contacted his firm. Avvo removed my previous review because it did "not meet our community guidelines". So I have written another one. Perhaps this one will be "sustained". Nothing I have written is inaccurate. When you have a problem and want to hire an attorney, it is not unreasonable to expect a conversation with...an attorney. Mr. Owens insulated himself behind gatekeepers and a paralegal. He signed a bad form letter and followed up with an e-mail that apologized for the bad letter. Then he had Avvo remove my review. In all that time, he did everything except what you need an attorney to do when you are looking for help. Answer the phone and help. I reiterate my previous one-star review.

I am so blessed and lucky to of found this law firm! About four years ago I was in a car accident. I actually started with another lawyer and had a miserable experience. It was almost a year and nothing was being done. I was in a lot of pain, and had very little if no communication with my previous lawyer. Being naive, I just assumed that was how the legal system worked. A family friend introduced me to Chris & Hunter and immediately I realized I needed to have them on my team. They cared about me, listened to me, and had amazing communication. I worked closely with Hunter & Daniella, and they were on top of communications, deadlines, and took the extra time to really explain to me the process and what was happening with my case. I must of asked a million questions, but they were patient and always had an open line of communication. My case recently settled- and I am truly thankful for them. Do your research, don’t be naive like I was with my first lawyer. If you need representation, I strongly encourage you to reach out to their office. You will be treated like family and not disappointed at all!

I found this firm through a Google search and thank God for that! I knew as soon as I spoke with Gina that this was the group for me. I went in and met with Wolfgang and Gina, they were very considerate and caring from the start. My case went along for about 18 months and there was never a time when I could not communicate with either Gina or Wolf, in fact they go out of their way to keep you very informed about what is going on with your case. This is definitely not what you would think a typical law firm is like for sure. I hope I never need a lawyer again, if I do i am only using this firm! They got results and did not allow the lawyers on the other side to dictate what was going on! If your looking for Unprofessional Attorney-Client Abandonment after a signed contract then this is your law firm. No communication from the attorney; until a week before my employment hearing he decided to withdraw his services with a generic templete letter. I'm unable to locate new representation, due the fact attorneys are reluctant due to time restrictions to prepare for trial. There are so many ethical law firms in Florida. Stay away from this unethical firm, you have already been through enough! And trust me you don't need this headache!

Wolf and his staff are amazing! Wolfgang believed in me when no one else did. He was the 5th attorney I went to and he believed I had a case!
