"The "LAIR" is an awesome place inside the LA Zoo to go and see your favorite reptiles and amphibians! They easily have over 45 exhibits with probably twice as many (if not more) animals on display! Each exhibit is built to show exactly what each animal's normal habitat would look like in the wild and it is great to see the animals blend in perfectly with their environment"
"I've been going to the LA zoo since before I could walk (in my 20s now) and my favorite part has always been the reptile house (now including more amphibians and fish) but if someone would have told little me what the reptile house would look like today, he would have absolutely lost it"
"I like this cause its upclose and personal while no danger"
"It was great to see all the different species, although it was quite packed when I was there and the staff had to make sure people were moving, not really allowing everyone to look at the animals hiding in the habitats"
"The Lair itself is bigger than I expected"
The "LAIR" is an awesome place inside the LA Zoo to go and see your favorite reptiles and amphibians! They easily have over 45 exhibits with probably twice as many (if not more) animals on display! Each exhibit is built to show exactly what each animal's normal habitat would look like in the wild and it is great to see the animals blend in perfectly with their environment. The "LAIR" is divided into two separate buildings and three outdoor exhibits, one of those being a "crocodile swamp" that houses false gharials. I definitely recommend you stop by the "LAIR" on your next trip to the LA Zoo, if you enjoy viewing and/or want to learn more about animals such as snakes, frogs, centipedes, tortoises, and iguanas.
I've been going to the LA zoo since before I could walk (in my 20s now) and my favorite part has always been the reptile house (now including more amphibians and fish) but if someone would have told little me what the reptile house would look like today, he would have absolutely lost it. Great climate control, mood lighting, and interesting exhibits continue to make this my favorite part of the zoo. PS that chinese giant salamander is an absolute behemoth
I like this cause its upclose and personal while no danger. The little ones kept cutting infront of me. But boys will be boys and the i figure not to worry cause knowledge is power and the kids where so into what was habitat was infront of them. Great place on a weekday i thought there would be more people but figured its cause it was monday. The girls loved it to
It was great to see all the different species, although it was quite packed when I was there and the staff had to make sure people were moving, not really allowing everyone to look at the animals hiding in the habitats. Be prepared to only see about half the animals when there's a line outside. And be prepared to move fast otherwise people will crowd the windows.
The Lair itself is bigger than I expected. There are a lot of exhibits of different types of amphibians & reptiles. The kids were super excited and you could hear their exclamation from a far. It was a cool exhibition area. I learned of new things about those reptiles.

El zoológico tiene variedad de reptiles, me gusta porque permite reconocer la diversidad a todos los seres humanos, los niños en particular se emocionan y pueden ver los animales vivos en todo su esplendor.

Snakes make my skin crawl, saying that, there are some pretty neat and scary snakes here. My favorite part is the very large aquarium with fish and a turtle, and the large aquarium for the monitor lizards. This place is a lot of fun for the kids, so the small space can get a little packed.
The amount of selection that was at the place was very extensive making sure you will not be bored once you visit it. Everything at this location was amazing to see since the animals were all extremely lively. When I come back I will make sure to come back to this exhibit
Love this place has nice reptiles from all over my favorite is the white viper I wish I could have it as a pet but too dangerous my daughter loves this exhibit as she tries to find the camouflage reptiles hiding they keep it hot for the reptiles only downside
I love coming here. This particular visit was at night for la zoo lights and this was one of the only animals you can see that were open aide from the reindeer.it does get pretty stuffy with all the people and little kids that are running all over the place.
The LAIR is an immersive habitat experience located inside the L.A. Zoo. Right across flamingos and behind the boba stand, you can find the LAIR and all it's wonderful reptile and amphibian species! If you are a fan of local and native
Snakes are not my favorite thing, but this was an interesting and educational experience. The kids there loved it.

While very cool, this exhibit always feels a bit sad and tired... More often than not, my kids (and others) will excitedly run up to a display to see what snake or lizard is inside only to find dirt and a couple of rocks.
Great place to see animals and walk around. Some exhibits were closed.

Brought my family here today and it was all right it's not the best zoo but it was a good time for the family nonetheless. And it's not a million dollars 22 bucks get you in.
Favorite place in the whole zoo, very awesome display. The second part of the exhibit needs a lot of help, maintenance, and the skylight makes it VERY hot and humid in there
It was awesome to see so many snakes of all kind. They were so cool and I'm glad I saw plenty of colors on them. Since my experience I know what snakes are venomous . …
If you can't make it out to the San Diego zoo. This is the next best thing. Fun events year round. Family oriented atmosphere. Friendly staff. Affordable memberships.
Fue un dia Super divertido un lugar para pasarlo en familia y amigos ...

This place was so fun and I loved it in the lair I would recomend that if you like amphibians invertebrates reptiles and vertebrates then you should go here.
*duh nuh nuh* experience live snakes that will literally bit your face off. good thing there's glass and that i can talk to snakes #parseltongue
This is the only part of the zoo that seems to have the displays complete with animals. It is a very nice space to view reptiles and amphibians
Very interesting enclosed exhibit with tons of snakes and lizards. It's really cool because it's has a small aquarium and coll sound effects.
I like studying all animals movement and behavior it was just a little bit humid, therefore, the animals were not up to moving around much.
It was part of the LA Zoo Lights. It was fun to explore and see amphibians in their night time life. Definitely worth the visit.
Great place to have fun and really learn about the fish, amphibians and other species. Kids love it and adults love too. Lol..
I had fun looking at the frogs and snakes. I even learned some fun facts

Honestly, the best part of the whole zoo as most of the animals are still in their viewable enclosures around closing time.
Unforgettable experience. My son, my husband and I loved everything, we're grateful that we got to see the whole zoo.
My sons love seeing all the snakes and lizards. Special treat today, we got to see the gaboon viper eat a mouse.
Some exhibits were closed, L.A. Zoo needs a lot of improvements compete at least with the San Diego zoo.
The LA Zoo is absolutely awesome. We were super impressed and will definitely be back to visit again.
It's a different experience to be next to birds like this it was nice but it does smell a bit bad
Would have like to have seen some other species. Like the variable vipers and the death adder.
Early morning they open at 10am so sometimes the animals are not awake as yet..11am best time
Lots of varieties of things that would give most people goosebumps if found in the wild
Wonderful display of reptiles. A bit humid, maybe because of the crowd, but very fun.
Love reptiles and it's so cool all the different habitats they have in one buildings.
One of my favorite exhibits! They're all so cute. One even stopped and posed for me.
It's cool lots of snakes and a little bit of frogs but other than that they are cool
Loved seeing all the different animals from around the world and our own back yard!
You really had fun at the zoo we see every animal in the world I think we had fun
We love going here!! We only wish we could pet some of the snakes and lizards.
Inside the zoo, this place was super cool, more snakes then I have ever seen
It was a super hot day and it was hotter in there than it was outside!
THESE CROCODILES ARE FAKE. I jest, do not fall in, they are not fake.
Very well done exhibit. One of my kids favorites at the LA Zoo.
Really cool exhibit at the LA Zoo. A must see for the family!!
Great place to take your kids and teach them about wild life.
Love taking my granddaughters here, they really enjoyed.
Awesome to see beautiful animals in person and not on tv
