This place comes to life on Friday and Saturday nights with a live DJ and affordable drinks!!! Crowd is usually ranging from 21 - 30 with a few sprinkles cougars and mountain lions mixed and LOL Do not come here if you're hoping to catch Sports especially Saturday College or Sunday NFL football. Make sure you know it's karaoke night on Wednesday evenings, so if you're looking to relax with a drink and a friend be prepared for someone stringing the cat usually. I've actually left two times with dates who agreed that the atmosphere wasn't the best for talking and romanticizing LOL ( they definitely need a ringer on those nights to keep customers buying drinks who don't want to karaoke). The area of the place is laid out well and includes pool tables as well as a variety of cool seating areas. Outside seating isn't luxurious, but it's a nice addition. Not an upscale bar but not a rundown bar either. Definitely a mix of dive and Lounge that will hold up if you're looking for a happy hour or a place to hear hip-hop music on the weekends! The food could definitely be better. Parking's not too bad even on the weekends when it's at its busiest, but those are the nights to be prepared to walk a block or two or park in the Smart & Final parking lot behind the bar.
Mom’s bar is an absolute killer place to hangout. Me and my girlfriend visited LA from Montana and wanted to visit a different bar every night, but we kept on coming back to Mom’s bar. The drinks were impeccable, especially their Capri Sun (boozy but perfectly balanced) cocktail. They had an extensive list of liquors and wide range of knowledge. The dance floor was perfect, lively but not as packed and crowded as a frat basement during move-in week. The DJ was playing the perfect mix of music, a little bit of everything, and the crowd was excited to be there and borderline rowdy. It felt like a very fun and safe environment to let loose. During our visits, we sat at the bar but there was plenty of space in back for a more quieter and intimate experience. If I could rate Mom’s Bar more than 5 stars I would, it was that exceptional. Big shoutout to Hannah, Bailey, Jesse, and Andy. They made everything perfect, a true showcase of hospitality

Large Dive Bar with decent prices for drink and no cover! There didn't seem like there was any dress code since guys were coming in Hawaiian shorts as my friends were pointing out. BTW, NO FOOD at Mom's bar. Happy Hour is from 4-8pm, $1 off drinks (except PBR). MONDAY- STAND-UP COMEDY @ 8PM WEDNESDAY - KARAOKE @ 8PM THURSDAY, FRIDAY & SATURDAY - DJ'S @ 9PM (Dancing) Dark bar with friendly bartenders. The waitress gave us a free small bowl of chips when we sat down. The drinks were inexpensive, especially for the westside. Mom's really a local bar with easy street parking. There's a large pool table in the back and three bathroom available (men, women, and mix). Plenty of seating in this place; bar, middle island, and by the wall. If you have a large party, call ahead for reservation. I saw a couple of reserve sign on a Wednesday night. p.s. Karaoke's old school style in front of everyone. They fade you out your songs when it gets busy and there's no private rooms here!
We live within walking distance and have given this place so many chances. The best part about it is the photo booth, however, that's it. Seriously. On weekend nights if you walk down and neglect to bring your ID, the doorman HAPPILY turns you away. I mean with gusto. I'm closer to 50 than 21 and the doorman couldn't be happier to turn me away last night. They used to have a bartender from the UK that was incredibly obnoxious and just the most unfriendly jerk he could be. Now there's another joker that's incredibly cocky, but at least he has a personality. Another time we rode our classic bikes down and they refused to let us leave them inside the door, in spite of having hardly anyone in there. Seriously, there was room right there where they wouldn't be in anyone's way (they're rather small). All in all, this place is never packed when we have gone in but they sure look for excuses not to let you in. Too much attitude for a stinky little dive bar. We're done trying.
Came here on a Sunday around 6:30pm and it was very quiet. I wanted to check out their Happy Hour. I have posted the menu they provided me (check out my photos in menu section) but the bartender told me that well drinks, domestic beer & drafts were $5, unlike the pictures I posted of the menu (provided by QR code).I guess I’ll find out for sure when the bill comes. The place is very dark…very dark. Also, there is NO FOOD (emphasized for those who don’t read this whole thing) ONLY drinks. Whoopee for the drinkers! If you want food there’s a 7-11 and a pizza place across the street. The best part, in my opinion, is that they have an outdoor patio area (see photo). Great place for drinks and just spending time with friends, your bestie, or a significant other! Tip: 1) Happy Hour 4pm-8pm every day 2) Patio Seating is brighter and airy 3) Eat before you get here 4) Bring a friend, otherwise you may look creepy
I came here with my Canadian friends and they would not let them in with Canadian IDs or photocopy of passports, we asked nicely and offered photocopies or alternative IDs but they were extremely rude and told us they can't let us in. This is the first time I have seen Canadians get denied entrance in the past 10 years in LA, do not support this business. Edit: the owner responded that they are abiding by law but that is in fact not the law. We've been to about 20 bars and clubs in the past month with no issues and I even asked what the law is from multiple of them to better understand. Instead of apologizing and changing their policy the owner has decided to double down. Very disappointing

This place is such a joke. It paints itself as some kind of hole in the wall dive but it is a yuppy poser bar. The drinks are made poorly and are weak. The last time I came in was for happy hour with some friends after work, the bouncer let me know that after 8pm I would need to either remove my bandanna or leave. Are you kidding me? First of all It is a brown bandana not related to any gangs and only worn to keep the hair out of my eyes. Was I messing up the vibe in your empty bar? On top of this the bar tender never gave me my card after I signed the receipt so I had to drive all the way back to Santamonica to get my card. Seriously to be avoided at all cost unless you are into yuppy poser bars with weak drinks and terrible service.
Wow! Get your A$$ in here for a Packers Game So fun to watch with other fans Although I suspect almost none of them are from Wisconsin :) But that doesn't matter, because it's fun to love the team together I was 5 people deep at the bar, crowded around the TV's and smelled less than fresh....honestly what did you expect for a dive bar this crowded with 20+ pizzas stacked in the back for their half time snack. Bartenders were pretty damn awesome for the screaming crowd. When you get hot or need fresh air, head to the back room and find the door to their outdoor patio with propane heaters and tables. Being a lifelong Packers fan, I've never had so much fun watching a game at a packed Packer bar.
As you can tell by the photos... Not a great time for anybody. BUT, if you're lookin for THE BEST experience money can buy in Los Angeles, this is the place to come. Truly a place for the elite. If you happen to be also looking for utmost comradery and no trepidations, you came to the right place. Whether it is cheap drinks, amazing dancing, or nothing but utilizing the five star bathrooms, this is the place to get it all. Sometimes I bring my children here. Sometimes I don't. But no matter what I have a great time. Couldn't recommend it more, even if you don't have kids. Everyone should come here at least once, just for the fans.
Mom's is a fun little sports bar that holds various events throughout the week along with just being a chill place to be for cheap drinks or to hang out. It's not going to impress in terms of original cocktails or a particular gimmick but the bartenders are friendly and they are pretty well-stocked with beer and other spirits. It has a ping pong table in the middle (which is usually cool although the players usually hits the ball near patrons) and a back area for some events. It has a few tables as well along with a long bar area. Parking-wise, aim for the street parking on the sides or on Santa Monica if you can find any.
Halloween was a fun time here. I met a lot of fun people and the Dj had a good mix going on. From Latin music, to old hip pop, r&b and electronic. Price of drinks are what they, standard. A fireball shot cost me 9$. As far as that goes, this was the only drink I paid for all night. The bartender was nice to me, which I really liked. Offered a free water also. Place has plenty of space to dance and their outdoor smoking section is comfy!! Bathrooms are small, but it works. I've seen worse. Shout out to the lawyer that bought my drinks all night!
My experience at this place wasn't a experience. I got judged at the door by security with black nails and skin tight skinny jeans. Security stated I was drunk and after he integrated me he allowed me entry. I just got off work to enjoy my evening and not be judged by security. I feel that the security judges off of race. I'm a black Male and I felt unwanted and left and went to Rocco's in Westwood which is a very professional establishment who doesn't judge your race. I have never been treated like this before but I will never come back.
Never coming back again ! Three nights I go with a family friend that doesn’t speak much English . Since the beginning we got different looks like if we were in the wrong place probably for speaking Spanish . We end up getting rushed out of their even though it wasn’t closing hour and we weren’t even acting up . At the end of the discussion with their bartender and security guard adedayo adefaraka they end up attacking me inside the bar in front of the other guests . This is a discriminatory place . Don’t go here .
I'm giving it 4 stars because drinks are cheap, especially for "The Westside." Came here right when they opened at 4, just passing through, so it was empty. This place is huge, dark, and provides a pretty mellow atmosphere, which contrasts with all the hip, trendy douchie bars within the vicinity. Come check it during Happy Hour(s) from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. My only gripe is that their draft selection is small, but they offer several selections in bottles and have a nice list of specialty drinks.
This was an absolutely awesome night. We were celebrating my boyfriend's graduation from UCLA and went with a large group of friends reserved our tables ahead of time and the staff was amazing great atmosphere clean bathrooms. And the drinks were pretty damn good. The only thing I would complain about the acoustics when the DJ was playing all we have here with noise you couldn't tell what song was playing just listening to the beat but we still dance all night!
The worst bartenders, rudest ever. Have been to my share of bars in my years. But when u patiently wait at the bar for 20 minutes with the idiot, confused bartender and finally get his attention and tell him you've been waiting for 20 minutes and his response was. You can leave. Wonderful! The confused bartender was totally lost. Had customers credit cards missing, charged the wrong card and on and on. One star only for the music. Place was dirty and smelled
Popped in after seeing this place every day and never stopping. We live close enough to walk so we took a stroll over to Mom's just to see what it was all about. Turned out to be a great little spot. A bit dark, but that kinda goes with their dive bar type theme. They have great drinks and a nice craft beer selection. If you're a whiskey person, they have a great selection. Crowd was a mix of young and old so its a good spot for anyone. We'll be back Mom.
I’d avoid this bar as a Black person. Came last night and could only get a drink when I stood by someone else. I stupidly tipped to see if I was being ignored because I came alone but upon returning to the bar for another drink I was ignored again. During this time someone who came to the bar after me was attended to. I promptly left. I guess what they wanted was to lower the Black population at their establishment so helpfully this review helps them.
Love this place — it has everything. Awesome (ie cheap) happy hour, quiet/divey every day early and Sun-Wed nights, karaoke on Thursdays. Thurs-Sat nights it gets packed with a college-ish age crowd. It’s also a Green Bay Packers bar on NFL gamedays. Definitely check out the huge amount of space they have — in addition to bar seating, there’s an outdoor area, back coach room with (fake) fireplace, and table seating with a jukebox. Pick your poison.
The bartender super sucked! She was a blonde bartender that only catered to Male customers. I waited, no lie, like five mins...at one end of the bar. As soon as a dude stood next to me, she came up. She asked the guy what he needed....so I said I was there first. She rudely said she needed to help him bc he was cashing out. Ummmm...excuse me?! Even the guy looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said, I just have to tab out.
Nothing crazy... but the music was terrible... i know nothing about being a DJ but they need help... ASAP... DJs have no common sense when it comes to music... this is 2017... how do you go from 50 cent Ayo Technology to some random RnB garbage then to some Coolio Gangsters Paradise? Like fo reals? Coolio? Thats when i decided to walk out... music is hella Stupid and wack... they need to make a change... never going again..
It's almost always fun at Mom's! The drinks are good, and DJ Bossa Nova is a pretty good dj on the weekends. I like it here because it's small and very laid back, but there are always people dancing! However, when I attempted to use the photo booth last night, it was unsuccessful: ( I was charged $5 in total for the blank pictures. Therefore, if you visit your mother, do not use it. The photo booth is broken: (
I love the atmosphere at Mom's! They have three separate seating areas. The main bar in the front has a ping pong table so you can show off your skills (or laugh at your lack thereof). The central "room" is for a larger group. And the lounge area in the back is a more intimate setting with a fake fireplace for ambiance! I went during happy hour where select beer was $3 in a bottle and $5 on tap.
Mom's is the kind of LA gem that Santa Monica needs but doesn't deserve. By day, it is the tawdry draft house of yesteryear where men and women drink to their lives of quiet desperation. By night it looks to be something far more middle-aged and pathetic, but I was still charmed. In this land beset by drought, it is Mom—with her $4 well whiskey—who can slake my thirst.
Super chill dive bar on the Westside with cheap drinks, DJ on the weekends, and NO cover. There will be a line if you come after 10ish. It gets packed! The wait to get in can be anywhere from 20-30 mins depending on capacity. It's a little dark inside but the people are all pretty nice. I haven't bumped into any weirdos. Just folks trying to have a good time.
First real speciality dive bar ive found in La. Djs know what there doing ,staff is amazing, drinks are priced and made right, they dont deviate from the style they claim. Come here if you want to start your night off right. With a lil trippy hippyhop and roll on with that thump ;) lyft and uber driver friendly bathrooms . it can get crowed tho fyi
A great bar.... so many different areas to sit in... Happy Hour EVERY Day 4-8, probably the best HH prices in the area!!! A bit dark inside the front area (no outside light in the front bar), but clean restrooms!!! We need to check out the backyard (patio). Staff are nice and not overly attentively, so you can enjoy your conversation!!! TYVM!
It’s so clean?!? The bouncer was quick to help clean a broken glass, and the tables at the end of the night. The seats are all in good condition and there are antibacterial pumps at every table. The candles are a really nice touch. The bartender and bouncer are absolute gentlemen, too. Music has great bass and makes you want to dance. Lit!
Comfy dive with DJ and dancing. Decent whisky selection. So so on beers, they're mostly ipas and wheats or the like, no amber, scotch, brown, porter, stout. Cocktails? This is no classic cocktail bar. You have your vodka club stuff and a margarita. There are mules too. This isn't the place for an old fasioned or sazerac.
WOW!! We went to Mom's for the first time to watch the Packers today. My guide-dog and I had a great time and were treated just like family as soon as we walked in. The hostess Teri is AWESOME and accommodated our every need. They even let my dog sit on the couch next to me. We're definitely coming back. GO PACK GO!!!
Went last night (Tuesday) and was ignored by the blonde bartender for over 25 minutes. Called her and she said she would come in 2 minutes. Never did. Eventually we just walked out. Disappointed and confused because bar was not busy on Tuesday. She just kept giving all her attention to one group

Dudeeee I wanted to give it lover stars but my boi brought it up !!! The women bartenders don't care or do this job , leather skirt and drop down shirt , and all they do look at their phone and talk SO LOUD ABOUT DUDES EITHER AT THE BAR or what happened ( ,JESUS ! Bro is there a manager on the floor !???
Okay, so it gets a bit too crowded for my tastes. The music is kinda up and down. The crowd is way too bro-y for my tastes. But everything comes together to make for a good night out, somehow. This requires some more studying! Great bar staff and great drinks. Get there early to miss the line!
Music here is great. Bartenders are quick and attentive. Good crowd. Clean restrooms. It has booths that are comfy. Fun bar to come to. Enough space to dance as well. The location is also nice because there are places to eat that are walking distance after a night here.
Came in on a quite Monday night, bartender was incredibly rude(seamed like he just wanted to go home), rudely kicked us out before 2am without letting us finish our drinks and over charged us! 3 shots for $35 very sad as I live in the area! Not recommended
Took one step out of the uber car ...," NO YOU CANT COME IN YOURE TRYING TO SNEAK BACK IN AFTER WE KICKED YOU OUT, YOUVE BEEN HERE FOR AN HOUR ALREADY"....What??? LMAO...crappy bouncers ruined the experience. Outta here with that dude. Cool C on your hat
Good drinks, bartenders and DJ (Saturday night) was great. Crowd was a bit "trust-fundy", but everyone was having fun and being respectful. Came back about a year later and same good vibes (Thursday night this time) and drinks were strong …
Packers bar on Sunday, that makes it cool on its own. Dark inside, nice bar, plenty options. Ping pong table, seems odd, pool would be better but it works, Mixed crowd, mostly 30 somethings friendly spot. Definitely for a less pretentious crowd.
Great place, great prices, full bar, best pool table in the west side of L.A., the crowd is friendly and just a great environment, so many T.V'S to watch all the sport event's just all around a great place. Amazing service.
It had a makeover, when it switched from Del's. There's many facets to this bar: a smoking patio, dive bar and annoying hipster vibe on Friday and Saturday. This is an okay place to meet for an after-work drink in West LA.
Pretty good price for drinks considering how much other places tend to charge. Ordered two whisky sour and came out to $15 with tax. Good vibes and good music. DJ played some old school songs mixed with some new top 40.
Fun times at Mom's! Great dive bar feel. You'll often find dancing at the front with a live DJ, plenty of space for sitting in the back and throughout the bar. Comfy seats, good drinks. I recommend the Mom's Mule.
The frilliest no-frills place to grab a drink Love that you can bring in outside food. And while the ping pong table has seen better days, they HAVE a ping pong table! Ample TVs for catching an event too. …
I've only been once, but my cohort and I experienced extreme kindness as we interrupted everyone trying to retrieve our ping-pong ball for at least an hour. Seems like a great place to meet up with some friends.
Cheap drinks, different crowd. If you are looking for something different in LA moms is for you. No windows. Always packed. CHEAP drinks. Food truck outside most nights. Not open during the day. Good music.
GO PACK GO! This is a sports bar in Santa Monica with a GB Packers fan base. They make your tine there fun and they have a great vibe. When I'm in the area and my GB game is on, this is the place to go.
A Packers bar! You havent lived life til you walk up to this place wearing a Lions shirt while Detroit is at Lambeau and go inside! Thanks for not beating me up guys :) once in a lifetime experience
Love this place! Best dive in sm without question. I stop by frequently for the awesome staff, ping pong, football, dancing etc. This place is and will remain a westside dive legend. Check it out!
Great atmosphere inside awesome music selection at night super fun. Decent prices as well! The security can be so pretentious it’s unreal. Love it all but the security people are very rude.
My absolute favorite bar to go to on Saturday night. They play good hip hop music and serve good drinks. The dance floor is small and always packed but the place is high energy and fun.
This was a unique bar. I was disappointed in the amount of drinks on the menu and the bartenders unwillingness to make a custom drink. The vibe was ok, but I have been to better bars
First time there over the weekend, didn't expect much but it's a decent sized bar and has an awesome lounge area in the back if you have a party that wants a little more privacy.
Came here on a Thursday and the crowd was what I expected. - 1 star because the place smelled like it had been cleaned with dirty water. Mom wouldn't be very happy about that.
Strong drinks, cheap compared to other bars. Best dive bar vibe you can get without compromising on comfort. It used to get crazy on Saturday nights, but that was years ago.
Mom's bar is a unique "dive" bar experience. The ping pong table is the best and apparently they host tournaments every once in a while. Aside from that its a casual bar.
A little too expensive to actually be a dive bar, but definitely had the requisite slightly sticky floors. Ping pong table made my night. Would come here again for sure!
I was here as a Canadian citizen with Id, they asked for my passport!!! Who travels with passport to a bar/club???

It’s a chill spot, didn’t really seem like a bar though. Bars typically have food and general seating this does not. You should expect more of a night club atmosphere.
Nice divey bar. Its a little loud for my tastes and the main bar area gets insanely busy on the expected nights of the week, but the lounge area at the back is nice.
Staff is awesome! Drinks are strong and prices great. Perfect for groups and will even supply candles when you bring a birthday cake! One of my new favorite places
It was pretty chill , I really enjoyed it the security dude was real polite (Alic) and the bartender was sweet , but the photo both didn't print out are pictures
Great, low-key, casual local pub with very friendly bar staff. By the evening, the place is usually packed with people dancing on the dance floor to a live DJ.
This place is so fun. always meet new people when I go there. Only problem it gets a bit to crowded. Besides that my friends and I always have a amazing time.
Nice bar with a lot of dancing! If you just want a good night out with dope music"hiphop, reggaeton, reggae and everything between", this is your place!
Place is cool... Great drinks at SUPER high prices, but - You need more cordial security staff. Those @$$holes are messing with your tips... nuff said.
Best dive bar around. If you get hungry they don’t have food but there is a great Mediterranean spot across the street and moms is cool with delivery.
I love this spot! It's my go-to spot when I want to relax without being home. Great bartenders! Nikky is my favorite bartender there!
Great bartender and atmosphere, just wish there had been more people there when I visited. The ping pong table didn't hurt either!
I freakin love this place! I was just there watching the Clippers game. Always a great place, and the bartender is super friendly
Dark and roomy lounge. Has a dive bar feel but its nicer than a dive bar. Not the best selection of drinks but good happy hour.
Standard fair bar in Santa Monica, Definitely a spot to check out if you want to drink on a Friday or Saturday night.
great for groups as ambiance can be loud or head to the back for a more intimate atmosphere. happy hour goes until 8.

Always a great local place to get a drink. Not too fancy in terms of cocktails buy great for a cheaper night out!
If you are a Packer fan you have to go here. Best time even with the Packers loosing. Great staff and customers.
Overall an ok dive bar. They have happy hour daily but it's a good one because it's just $1 off any drink.
It was pretty packed on a weekend night, but if you like more of a club-type atmosphere, this is for you!
We had amazing service from Andy the bartender!!!

Super reliable. Always a good crowd, inexpensive drinks and just a good local bar. Nothing fancy.
Great neighborhood bar with a good happy hour. Becomes very clubby on friday and Saturday nights
We all love Scott. The bartenders walked around giving us pizza. The drinks were made well.
Really cool place. I'd prefer to take a date here. It's dark and has a red sexy look to it.
Good place to dance. Expect very young crowd. Extremely packed but good vibe. Kinda retro
Awesome bar, we always have good times here, been coming here for years! Happy holidays!
Hands down my favorite bar on the Westside! Cheap drinks, fun dance floor, great crowd!
At a certain point it will get crowded like any other popular bar but it's loads of fun

Good views and solid cocktails. On the more expensive side but crazy location.
Nice and DARK. Awesome music. This is a dive bar to return to multiple times.
Pulp Fiction inspired bar. Dark, cool and the greatest happy hour. 4 to 8pm.
Cool bar. Thought they had a pool table but turns out they didn't.
My favorite bar in LA. Weekends and happy hours are where it’s at!
I just go there for the chips. They are delicious!
Great dive bar. Great service. We will be back.
Happy Hour from 4pm-8pm. $5 drafts!
