So far unimpressed. Happy to update my rating as things progress. Just trying to visit my friend who has been here for two weeks. Impossible to find your way around. The staff were incredibly rude, unprovoked, and looked at me with great suspicion and asked me all kinds of questions and told me vague rules about visiting that were contradicted by other staff. There were no signs anywhere saying how they prefer visitors to enter. I'd never been to this hospital before. After a third very rude encounter with a nurse who was the first to inform me that there was a desk I should check in at, I finally I said "I'm happy to follow all your rules, but if they're different from most hospitals you just to make known what they are." "Well, he's still in dialysis." When I asked if there was a waiting room they looked at me like it was the dumbest question...."uh, there is one up 5 floors"... Hopefully they treat their patient/my friend with more humanity than his visitors. Room barely big enough for a twin bed and for a nurse to squeeze around it, dark, and the windows don't open at all, not even a crack, just a solid pane, so the air is heavy, stifling, and stagnant. Glad to know this is where my friend and mentor could possibly spend his final days. Update. I was told his dialysis would be another 5 minutes. I waited nearly an hour, then finally went to check, only for someone who was sitting there behind a desk to tell me that he was finished on time an hour ago, but that they were waiting for someone to come from the other side of the hospital to roll his bed back over..... .... .... The room being literally across the hallway. Finally the guy realized how stupid that was and offered to get him.... We were sitting a couple of rooms away from each other for an hour, because they were too lazy to move the bed themselves. . . By the time they rolled him over he was freezing cold and very hungry. It took hours for him to get warm again. They did not offer warm blankets or to help get him to food or get food to him. I did what I could, but I eventually had to leave to go to work, and I left very, very concerned for his well being.

This hospital is the best in Oregon, they saved my life, and made my dreams come true ❤️ On the night of December 25 2021, in a self-harm attempt, I drank some wine, took a lethal dose of Spironolactone, and jumped off my balcony. I plunged over 30 feet down to hard asphalt on a slope... Bay Area Hospital in North Bend wanted to have me life flighted to OHSU, but it was snowing, so they transported me unconscious and close to death with a tube down my throat in an ambulance. My pelvis was shattered, and my right arm and jaw were both broke in half. Doctors Mirarchi, Friess, and Engelstad, among many others, worked tirelessly around the clock to save my life and put me back together again through surgeries and constant care from the nurses. Though I was in extreme pain during my stay, they kept me as comfortable as possible. They even taught me how to walk again. When I was discharged to go live with my parents on January 13 2022, I was disabled but alive thanks to OHSU.❤️ Also, I have to note they have a delicious 5-star menu, just like a restaurant. All you have to do is look at the menu and pick what you want, just like a restaurant. I stayed at OHSU again in June 2022 for my Vulvoplasty surgery to finally finish my gender transition to Female. My ultimate dream in life came true, all thanks to Doctor Daniel Dugi and the incredible staff at OHSU. Thank you, OHSU! I trust you with my life❤️

I recently had a baby. Got an epidural which took forever to put in. I’m 9 weeks PP and have excruciating pain when I lean back, right where my epidural was put. I live in the dalles my PCP called anesthesiologist and before ever assessing me she tells me “ it’s back pain after having a baby “ she hasn’t looked at it, hasn’t done anything. I nearly cried as I feel it’s getting worse and I have 3 little ones and I’m in bad pain doing anything. I also STILL have a huge scab on my back when I shouldn’t have one at all. It’s one thing to make a mistake and own up to it and try to help but it’s another thing to make a mistake and literally belittle the pain and experience I had. I’m all for little people practice but as a lead anesthesiologist she needs to take full accountability and help when something goes wrong.

The Cardiovasxular dept. Is amazing!!,The Dr's and nurses are extremely thorough!! Really great personalities and act like they want to be there!! This hospital is one of several hospitals almost like a little town!! Everybody was helpful in helping find my way to where my son in law was!! Parking is FREE If your a patient or visitor. Make sure to get your ticket validated at the front desk. Also u can ride tram free if u get a ticket from a front desk!! Just so u know the tram closes at 5 on weekends. The tram is so cool yet so scary. They also have Shriners Hospital and the Veterans Hospital. Best hospital ever!!

They don’t seem to care about their patients. I had an appointment with Hepatology. I tried to get ahold of them to set up lodging, several times, over the course of two months before my appointment. With six days to spare they FINALLY got ahold of me. At that point it was too late. I had to cancel this very important appointment because the company I use for medical transport requires a six day advance booking for out of town appointments. If you are looking for a place that has no compassion or care for the people they are meant to be helping then this is your place!!

Thank you for helping me throughout my stay as a patient. I wanted to especially thank Julia, RN and Jean, CNA on the ER observation floor. I had an anxious night due to IV steroids and was scared. They both were nonjudgmental, kind, and comforting. Julia even asked the charge nurse if I could walk around the unit. ALL of my nurses were great during my 4 day stay. I wish I remembered all the names, but I won't forget your kindness and attention. ER wait can be long but what do you expect? Their job is to keep people alive, not have the quickest turnover time.

Wonderful place. Great dedicated staff who love their job and take ever opportunity to go the extra mile with care. State of the art buildings that are well managed and great maintenance and managment over all. All systems and departments work flawlessly together and awesome Cooks in the several different kitchens and cares. I all ways appreciate the care and environment OHSU provides when a loved one or I fall ill. Thanks for all you do and keep it up!

Cannot understand how a hospital will not let you visit your loved ones. Mandates are being dropped everywhere and you have family dying in there and only one person can go see them. This policy makes no sense when you have thousands of people bustling through their everyday. The staff at the door are completely ignorant to families feelings coming into the hospital. Too busy on their cell phones to even make eye contact when you come in.

I wish I could rate it higher than a 5. My fiance was in for a week, most in the ICU and then in the epilepsy unit. This place is absolutely wonderful. Uche, Terra, Sara, Michelle, and Chris were amazing. He was there for kidney failure and they saved his life. I can't thank this place enough. We've been to some bad hospitals with bad attitudes but never ran into a negative person. Even in the cafeteria. I really recommend this place

I have come to ohsu for all of my care (preventative and emergency) and have always had an excellent experience. I had hand surgery for a bike accident (plus weeks of physical therapy after that), and more recently, lasik eye surgery, and both went incredibly smoothly with caring, competent staff. Will continue to come here both for myself and as a recommendation for my friends and family.
