Panggung Bandaraya DBKL (Malay for DBKL City Theatre) is a historical theatre hall located across the Merdeka Square in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the junction of Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Raja. Construction began in 1896 and was completely finished in 1904. The theatre formerly occupies the historic Old City Hall of Kuala Lumpur. The theatre and old City Hall building were designed by a colonial government architect, Arthur Benison Hubback, who was also responsible for designing the Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, the Jamek Mosque and other colonial structures throughout the Klang Valley. It was built for production stages such as plays and musicals.

The musical/dance event i attended at this theatre was absolutely exquisite. It was the Rentak Bumi by the ever so famous Datok Ramli collaborating with other amazing dancers from their respected dance companies. The theatre itself holds beautiful memories and has a soul as artistic and as old as time. The building is in need of major refurbishment, the washrooms were an utter disappointment, and i highly recommend the idea of installing at least one beverage/snack dispensing machine. It was a huge inconvenience for my children and myself to go outside in the rain to find food during the intermission.

Kami kembali lagi kearah jl. Tun Perak sambil melihat2 area sekitar, ketika menyebrangi jalan didepan Panggung Bandaraya city theatre kendaraan tidak terlalu ramai (termasuk sepi dibandingkan di kota tempat tinggal saya, yang sangat ramai lalu lalang kendaraan) tapi kami tetap hati2 juga, ada taman cantik yang dipenuhi bunga aneka rupa bisa untuk berfoto dengan background Panggung Bandaraya...

A most exhilarating experience with a theatrical production which was the equal of any London, West-End show. Deserving of "full house" attendances which sadly was not the case today ! Come on Astra, give them a boost by featuring a clip of what is being produced here in town by some brilliant young local talent.

I attend to see the show "MUD", the story of Kuala Lumpur. It was a great show of music and dance. The actors invite people to participate in the show. I was part of the show. It was fun! I recommend to everyone to see this show and learn about the story of Kuala Lumpur. Its a show for everyone, kids and adults!

Good ambiance untuk tengok orkestra. Nampak old but classy. Overall ok jer untuk santai. Dapat masuk dalam sebab DBKL Ada open Tix free untuk tengok orkestra. Kena selalu check page DBKL.

A very good performing arts theatre in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, You can approach to visit by light train which is easily available from your nearest station in the city or take a car for full day city tour but car will be little bit expensive and affordable if you're three travelers. So keep in mind.

Just watched the musical of "our story of Kuala Lumpur". Fully agree with what others said about the show. It is AMAZING!!! Well deserved a full house but apparently it's not there yet. But recommend to everyone who can understand English!!!

Made me & my partner to fell in love with theater. There weren't many people who watched the theater but the show was lovely & lively where actors & actresses interacted with audiences. They made audiences danced on the stage with them.

My review is about food truck coffee that happened to be here on 15/10/22. I tried the cafe latte without sugar and the taste and smell are so refreshing. If you happen to meet the truck, try a cup and you wont regret

Excellent and well played by all the performers. It's a great place to learn about the history of Kuala Lumpur. Good interaction with the audiences. Recommend to everyone (children & adults) as well as tourists.

Jos za Kuala Lumpur povijesna zgrada i spomenik zauvijek proslog kolonijalnog vremena. Trenutno se provodi unutrasnja restauracija pa je kazaliste zatvoreno. Fasada zgrade je odlicno restaurirana.

Historic theater built in 1896. Nice wood work and lightning. Very traditional designed. Up keep is not very good. Walls behind the theater and bathroom are broken.

Either you take our calls or put up a notice in your website informing us that the theatre is under renovation, either way don't keep us in the dark!

With its colonial architecture and "MUD: The story of Kuala Lumpur" showing, this seems like a quaint place to enjoy a stroll down memory lane.

Has nostalgic antique feel when watching performance here tho parking is a challenge. Best is to take the LRT which is only 5mins walk away.

No proper restroom here, please make one or two, so many people here. Others are clean and spacious.

I love the street cats that live here. I feed them a couple of times a week.
