What an experience! I went to Bangkok this time and wanted to find that 'secret' restaurant to try new food. I stumble upon Phukej and it was exactly what I was looking for. I never had, or even heard of the Chineses-Southern Thai food, and Phukej did set a high bar for me since it is not just a usual way of preparation of the food, but with the fine culinary technique. The place is relatively small but cozy. The atmosphere is great. A lot of historic and vintage style decor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The head chef came to chat a bit with us. He was very eager to answer our question about the food with passion. You know it is good when people really care and proud of what they are doing. Lastly the food. Everything we had were delicious and very well cooked and prepared. It is a fine dining and with a very friendly price. I would recommend anyone who want to try this type of food or looking to have a great fine dining experience in Bangkok. I would stop by again next time I'm in Bangkok. Extra point: The toilet is very clean as well.

ไปกินประมาณปลายเดือนพย. บรรยากาศเหมือนกินข้าวที่บ้านเพื่อน คนไม่เยอะ เหมาะพาคนรู้ใจมาเดทอยู่นะ อาหารเป็นอาหารใต้ประยุกต์ รสชาติถือว่าโอเคเลย วันนั้นสั่งมากิน 5 อย่าง อร่อยทุกอย่าง แต่ที่รู้สึกว้าว คือ1.เนื้อวากิวจิ้มแจ่ว อันนี้ชอบสุดในบรรดาของคาว เขา มี2ซอส ชอบซอสเขียวที่สุด หอมมากๆ 2.โอ้วเอ้วกุหลาบ มันดีมาก สดชื่น เปรี้ยวหวาน เหมาะเป็นเมนูตบท้ายล้างปากสุดๆ วันนั้นขอบคุณพระเจ้าคนไม่เยอะ เชฟออกมาคุยและช่วยแนะนำอาหารด้วย ประทับใจมากๆ เรื่องราคา 2 คนหมด 1,800 รู้สึกว่าสมเหตุสมผล ไม่ถูกไม่แพง แนะนำครับ

A new restaurant that definitely deserves more business. The foods are generally on point. Love the strawberry-petai salad, and the bits of prawn in the nam prik jone. Some points of improvement: 1. The river prawn had become slightly mushy in parts. 2. Service was a bit quiet and awkward, sometimes a staff member would drop a plate and mumble a few words before scurrying off. Sometimes not. Haha the food is great, proudly announce the dish :). 3. The choux on top of the coconut sorbet is funnily small. The dish wasn’t what I was expecting

Beautiful restaurant in Chinatown with cosy and charming decor. But the food is what will really impress. Big flavours, perfectly seasoned and beautifully plated. I loved loved loved the strawberry salad, the miang, the soft shell crab curry... and really everything! and the little desert offered at the end is so yummy! i want to eat here again and again. come now before it gets too well known and you can't make a reservation

Cozy little restaurant located in a very quiet street, in the heart of Chinatown but away from the crowd of the main streets. It is furnished and decorated with simplicity and great taste, with open kitchen. Everything we tasted was delicious and very well presented. The service was kind and attentive. We couldn’t ask for more, after a long journey from Italy !

We stopped here for lunch and am so happy that we did. We loved the crispy crab spring rolls. The pork belly was absolutely delicious. The strawberry prawn salad was wonderfully spicy and sweet. And the wagyu beef had great flavor. This was a great find!

Love it! Old traditional style southern Thai food with a twist of some peranakan food. My favorite menu + Recommended menu would be : -phukej style pork belly (a must! ✨⭐️ - Stir fried Squid in Black ink ปลาหมึกผักน้ำดำ -Grilled mussle with curry หอยกอและย่างกับผักดอง Dessert : Brioche French toast with Kaya! What a discovery! I came to Phukej following the reviews… I could not be happier I did! The spicy strawberries and shrimp salad was wonderful, the roasted pork belly incredibly tender and the calamansi honey soda drink was awesome. Great service, awesome ambiance and cosy-chic environment… a great cocktail for success!

Love the food!!! Most of the menu here are delicious. The presentation is very nice.(southern part food with fusion style) The ingredients are fresh and tasty. I recommend Yum Bai Bua Bok with fried fish, it’s amazing.

Lacklustre welcome to this restaurant that promised much from the reviews. The crab spring rolls were a little tasteless, not Krabbi!! The beef was good. But if you like an alcoholic drink with your food boy do they ramp up the price. Ridiculous!!
