I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Publix, and I must say that my experience was outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a friendly welcome from the staff. The store was clean, well-organized, and stocked with a wide variety of high-quality products. What really stood out to me about Publix was their commitment to customer service. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, always willing to answer my questions and assist me in finding what I needed. They went above and beyond to ensure that my shopping experience was pleasant and stress-free. The quality of the products at Publix was also exceptional. The produce was fresh and vibrant, the meats were of the highest quality, and the bakery items were delicious and freshly baked. I was impressed with the wide selection of organic and natural products, as well as the Publix brand products which offered great value and quality. I also appreciated the convenient services that Publix offered, such as the pharmacy and online ordering and delivery options. It was clear that Publix was committed to meeting the needs of their customers and providing a comprehensive shopping experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Publix to anyone looking for a high-quality grocery shopping experience. The staff, products, and services were all outstanding, and I felt that I was truly valued as a customer. I look forward to shopping at Publix again in the future and giving them my highest recommendation.
I love shopping at Publix on Gandy Boulevard. The store is clean, well-stocked and organized, with a wide selection of fresh and quality products. The staff is friendly, helpful and courteous, always ready to assist me with anything I need. The prices are reasonable and they often have great deals and discounts. I also enjoy the convenience of the services they offer, such as check cashing, coin counting, money transfers and recycling. One of my favorite features of this Publix is the Pours Cafe, where I can get delicious coffee from Kahwa Coffee, smoothies, fizz drinks and açaí bowls. I can also sip on craft beer or wine while I shop or relax at the seating area⁴. The cafe also has free Wi-Fi, which is perfect for working or browsing online. Another feature I like is the burrito bowl station, where I can customize my own burrito bowl with fresh ingredients and sauces. It's a quick and satisfying meal option that I can grab and go or enjoy at the store. Publix on Gandy Boulevard is my go-to supermarket for all my shopping needs. I always have a pleasant and positive experience there. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and quality grocery store in Tampa.
It's the worst bacon wrap that I have ever had at a Publix. I asked for my bacon to be cooked separately from the wrap, but I still wanted the wrap toasted, and this is what the guy did. He cooked the bacon and then put it back on the wrap. He asked what other meat I wanted. I specified when I ordered I wanted a bacon wrap, but I told him no other meat, except I did want avocado on it, which happened to be close to the meat section, he slices up the avocado and puts it on the wrap, then picks it up and tries to put it in the toaster, so I stopped him. Why would I want it toasted when he already put the avocado and bacon on it, and on top of that, he should have used more bacon? I got 2 pieces of bacon that were cut in halves. It's not likely that I'll be returning to your deli department for a long while. It's obvious that some of these people still need some practice. Also, the veggies that they put on it are were pretty sparse compared to what I normally get at other Publix. Well, at least was nutritional. In conclusion, I don't feel that I got my money's worth because I didn't receive the product that I'm used to getting at other chains here, so buyers beware for now.
Nice to see Publix in South Tampa Gandy/Himes finally open again, even though it's bigger and more than I can handle in one visit with me being disabled. I prefer not to use an electric scooter. I use the cart and use the handle for support. Even with that, the store is too much for walking, even when I want to walk and be in a safe place. Publix is always clean, and the staff is pretty friendly. One thing is that they never have enough cashiers on registers. I definitely don't WANT to use self checkout. After walking as much as I can, I don't want to wait 5/6 people in line when they have 2/3 registers open with cashiers. When we went the last time, we asked for double paper, light weight, and the cashier bagged double plastic. When my husband repeated, she misunderstood, and she would have to go get paper bags. Why didn't she have paper bags already opened and stocked? Why weren't there any baggers on hand? This, to me, is a management issue that needs to be addressed!! Hopefully, the registers/cashiers can be resolved along with a bagger. Publix is a great place to shop!
I really want to talk about how much I love this Publix because I honestly hated this grocery store with a passion before this new concept opened, partly because of their prices and partly because of who they donate to.. The bogos are amazing, but what really gets me is the Pours and the ramen. I really cannot express how much I disliked going to Publix before this local new concept opened. Every single bartender they have in the Pours Cafe is absolutely top notch. Please make sure you drop a few dollars and walk away so they get a tip. Please also get the ramen because it is very very fresh. They also have over 10 beers on tap that rotate basically daily. You literally cannot go wrong for $5 beers.
Big thanks to Renee in the Deli -She deserves a raise! So sweet! This was the 2nd time I’ve had the pleasure of having her help with my cold cuts. I came in this day and she said she had just made fresh cuts; So I just got my cheese and went to see but the dates were not to date with what she said… I told her I felt uncomfortable taking those with the date going bad so soon; She didn’t argue! she didn’t huff! She didn’t roll her eyes! No attitude <3 (I really appreciate that!) Instead said “fine sweetie, how do you want them cut?” Again so sweet and understanding. I look fwd to seeing her at Publix! Thank you Renee and the Publix staff
I come into this Publix often as it is so close to where I live and though I regularly have good experiences this morning, I had an outstanding one. Heather (from self checkout) went above and beyond for me. She saw my hands full of bags and took the initiative to go and grab a large bag, fill it up for me, while chatting with me and making me feel welcomed and greeted. This is not a luxury we often see anymore and I wanted to make sure I went above and beyond for her with a shoutout for the experience she provided. I will obviously be back, but I especially hope to encounter Heather again!
Update (5/16) - still an overall great grocery store. More attention needs to be paid to the prepared food counters. The ramen counter is incredibly slow and rather lacking in ingredients. The taco/burrito bowl option is very overpriced for what you get. Much smaller bowls than you'd get at Moe's or Chipotle and the ingredients are bland and not as fresh. Newly remodeled/built. Large amount of prepared food to go (ramen, sushi, pizza, burritos, subs, etc). Nice addition is that they offer coffee, beer, and wine for consumption in store while shopping.
One of the great parts about the earlier version of this Publix was that it had one of the biggest produce sections I've ever seen. I'm not sure what it says about societal trends or Publix, but it stinks that as lovely as the redesign is that it lost one of the best features of the old store. As far as everything else goes, it's Publix. Shopping is a pleasure, etc. It's the best supermarket chain in the entire country. It's just disappointing that for this one particular Publix they decided to slice away so much of what set it apart.
Absolutely Love love love the new layout of this store. I have a new obsession with all the ready to eat foods that are offered. The açaí bowls are AMAZING! The only thing I have been disappointed in was the past few times I noticed a few items were kept past expiration dates and a lot of the produce hasn’t been that fresh. I’ve noticed many moldy or extremely soft foods. The last time I was there I decided to leave and go to the other Publix down the street because I was not disappointed with the amount of produce that was going bad.
This is a nice new store and the staff is nice. I like the setup. But I wanna know why Publix is having their cashiers solicit for donations when I check out? Inflation is at an all time high. It’s stressful enough paying what I pay for food nowadays. I have the prerogative to choose which charity, when and how much I want to donate if I so choose. So to be asked whenever I buy groceries is a little much in this day in age. Sprouts doesn’t ask me to donate when I shop there. Why is a big corporation like Publix asking? Please stop.
Big, beautiful, and bountiful store. This store has everything and puts WholeFoods to shame. Publix really stepped up to a new level with this store. They have a pizza bar, wrap bar, expanded deli, coffee bar, sushi bar, full size bakery like the old day but bigger and more. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a larger Publix either, and I’ve been in many all over the south. Customer service was top notch as usual. Parking was easy too. Shopping was definitely a pleasure - I highly recommend a visit when you’re in town
New and premier store with Pours Bar. This location is always out of supplies. Don't have 2 things that match. Salad bar never has dressing. When asked employee to restock. They had no more . I asked for some from aisle. This happens often. Ice machine at soda fountain area always in disrepair. If you go upstairs to use dining area, do so at your own risk. The tables and chairs are always dirty. Each of the 3 times I use this area I had to go to customer service to have them send someone upstairs to disinfect/clean tables☹️
Miss the old layout but this flagship location is growing on me. They put a pub in Publix! Great to get a beer to make shopping a pleasure with the kids! Aisles and perimeter are smartly laid out and the shopping cart traffic patterns are less conjested. Love the pre-fix food options for different days. They also have an upgraded sushi bar, pizzeria, taco/burrito bar, deli, and bakery. The meat section also seems to have a better variety of premium cuts. Self check out lanes for smaller grocery runs are clutch!
Publix is always great. I hit the deli and get a few days worth of cold cuts and they are always on point at the deli then great a drink cause gas station prices are insane. But if you rather have a sandwich made for you publix also gets the W there everything's as fresh as possible and they got every option possible cause your at the source. Well not the source source but you know what I mean. I think this new one even has a bar so it doesn't have to be a chore it can be a treat.
SO grateful this is our neighborhood Publix! We've only had above and beyond EXCELLENT experiences at every Publix we've gone to. Yet, ours is our favorite... Especially with its re-opening after their newly, remarkable renovation! Today an item was mis-marked and, of course, they honored our needs in making the correction with no problem. A special thanks to Marcus, Andre and Team Gandy Pubix! See you soon... where shopping is definitely a pleasure, every time!!!
My experience at this location was good. Must say that Publix stays busy. This renovated store was clean. I visited midday. The staff was friendly. A new observation: people would wear "anything" out of their homes, yes, even to/at Publix in So Tampa. Yes, this was the Gandy/South Tampa location. We cannot say that "only" the wally-mart crowd dresses poorly. Or that the Target or Publix visitors have more "sense." Bad taste transcends...
My new favorite Publix in all of South Tampa! This store replaced an older location and includes several features that you won't find in a regular Publix. First is the deli department with sections for pizza, pasta, popcorn, burritos, nachos, and specialty cheeses. Second is the cafe with an on-site bar. Third and last is there are 2 seating areas, one at the bar and another at the store's second floor with stairs and elevator access.
Shame on you Publix! You’re charging your consumers full price for stale cheddar-caramel popcorn and you have been doing it for over a month now. I’d like the mngr over that area to respond with why this decision was made. I’ve bought multiple bags, both sizes of the cheddar-caramel mix consistently since new store opened and the last four weeks in particular you sold me STALE popcorn. I’d like an explanation please
I absolutely love Publix! But the fact that there are only 2 curbside pickup spots here is not the best idea. Every time I do curbside both spots are taken. And most times it shoppers who have no business even parking there! People should be more considerate, and Publix needs more curbside pickup spots. Today the spots were both taken again, and the inconsiderate folks are inside shopping! Smh 4/22/2023 1:05pm
I love the new set up of this publix. I work next door and it is so nice to be able to get some lunch quickly. I love the build your own salad bar and hot wings bar. Also the brick oven style pizza bar, the taco and burrito bars are both yummy! But my fave by far is the sushi bar, it's not all sushi either.. you can get Ramen and other stuff as well. No matter what it's always a quick and wonderful experience
There's been a Publix Store at this location for 60 years. Been remodeled several times. Full grocery store with Deli, fresh produce, meats and fish, frozen sections, pharmacy, bakery, beer, and wine. Great customer service. It just recently re-opened from the latest remodel/rebuild ! It now has a Sushi Bar. Taco and Burritos Bar, a Pours Cafe and an upstairs seating area, accessible from stairs and elevator.
I am giving this location 5 stars due to the amazing customer service at the Deli location and Burritos location. Ms. Mary and Ms. Georgie provided kind hospitality to my sister and I as we ordered a sandwich for our mother. The check out hostess Nicole helped us when we had a problem and was kind to us. I will continue to come to this location due to the hospitality of most workers here.
New store opening 3/2/23. Beautiful, with all the popular things expected from Publix and many of the options that were only found at the Greenwise store downtown. Pizza oven with by the slice or whole pizza options, pours area where you can have a glass of wine, a local beer, smoothie, tea, or acai bowls. Sausage and bacon made in-house at meat counter. So much more to see and try.
I'm super impressed with this new Publix! You name it, they got it here. Craft beer while you shop?!?! Crazy cool! Popcorn bar, chicken wing bar, make your own burrito bar, endless salad and soups, sushi, deli, and the hits just keep on coming. Staff is phenomenal.....just an all-around excellent shopping experience. No wonder it is so expensive to shop at Publix! But worth it!
I really enjoy shopping at Publix supermarkets they have excellent customer service their product is excellent they are very professional very courteous always with a smile and they do give you their support if you need anything they would be helpful to help you find it or order it for you and I think Publix for being in my area especially all of the good sales and good prices
This store represents the Publix brand so well. Thank you, instragram, for posting the video about this store. Words can not express how grateful I am to find good customer service and products that are so well displayed. With the economy so messed up at the moment. We have to find little pleasures where we can. BTW they have a beverage bar, sushi bar, and popcorn bar.
Store is huge and looks nice but I've already ordered for pickup here twice and neither time were my items waiting for me in the pickup area. One time my items hadn't even started on being prepared until I asked for then after they pickup time. They moved a lot of seasoned employees here so I expected better. Think I'll stick with one of the stores up the road.
This seems like a convenience store rather than supermarket. Processed foods, snacks, energy drinks, lots of sugary foods, pods for eating. Limited selection of brands and ingredients if one is a serious cook. Limited selection of quality meats. Must go to one of the suburban stores in Citrus or Brandon or Walmart for more “grocery” shopping.
Heaven descended into the earth and gave us this newly opened Publix that has a sushi station, pizza, pasta, a hot foods bar, a cafe that also serves wine and craft beers, and outdoors and indoors seating. It's everything you would want in a store and more. This is peak adulting to be this excited about a store. You will not be disappointed!
This is the nicest Publix I've ever been to. They have a salad bar, sushi bar, a burrito bar, and even an actual bar that serves wine and beer on tap. The sushi bar made me an amazing poke bowl. They have a buy in bulk section as well and the bar has indoor and patio seating. I heard a man saying he was going to be a regular at the bar
Standard Publix. Have gotten flu shots here. Pharmacy is easy to work with. Store always seems hectic as it appears to do lots of business, yet staff remains friendly. Like all Publix stores, it's best to come during off peak hours. Update, not so standard anymore. This may be the future of Publix. Still not Wegmans but getting closer.
I have been there only for lunch and the staff can't be any friendlier at the pizza bar, and the ones that make the pub Subs they have self checkout it's very easy to get in and out normally in about 15 minutes of course there is a line for the sandwiches sometimes but it moves fairly quickly I highly recommend the Publix on Gandy
Different from an average Publix The food was good besides the chicken wings were not good during this visit. The alcohol and non alcohol drink options were great at the bar inside in store. Went twice. One at the beginning and one before I left . I would recommend the Peach and Raspberry Soda with extra syrup
It's a restaurant really disguised as a grocery store. Grossly overpriced. Most items seem like they're $10, and if not, then they are 2 for $10 or 3 for $10. The minds behind the marketing thinkn$10 is some kind of sweet spot. Yet craft beers are only $5, while they are typically closer to $10 anywhere else. Go figure.
This store was just renovated. wow!! what a great store very impressed. they also serve beer and wine so that you may enjoy an adult beverage while you're doing your shopping. Very cleaned and well-managed in all the staff were extremely nice what a great shopping experience. Thanks Publix you've done it again.
The food here is amazing! Whether it's fried chicken, sub sandwiches, popcorn shrimp, it has all been great. My go to is the buffalo chicken tender sub! As far as groceries, the shopping experience is better than most. Prices can be a little higher than other stores, but the experience makes up for it.
New store that just opened up roughly a month ago and I enjoyed going but just wish a few items I wanted wasn't so expensive like a gallon of milk and gallon of water for example and also finding a handicap parking spot can be kinda tough but it also can be contributed to the store just opened....
I stopped in tonight for some birthday dinner items and settled on the seafood department. Will is awesome a big help, we chatted over how amazing the mahi mahi looked and I of course settled on that and some shrimp, I am absolutely happy with the service and quality of my purchase, good job guys!
Publix has been a great grocery store since i was a kid. I'm a loyal shopper at the Britton Plaza store, and this store's layout is totally different. Most everything is here, just in different places. But I was surprised to find that this store did not stock small packs of spices like my store.
Best. Publix. Ever. The rebuild turned out gorgeous. The service is incredible. This is the only Publix in Tampa that exists to me now. Love the local drafts at Pours! The guy who works in Pours every Tuesday and customer service the rest- he’s the best. He made our experience there so fun.
I ordered the orange chicken bowl and it was not good. It tasted like a microwave meal from the frozen food section, not something from a cafe. I had really high hopes for this new publix and it was not worth it. Even the burrito bowl was gross. The whole cafe section seemed dirty.
When I asked if I could get just Banana nut muffins, the blonde bakery manager was rude and surly. I also tried the sour cream pound cake and banana nut pound cake thinking they would be great. Bananas were missing in taste and they both tasted like sand. Bakery is a hard pass now.
Love this new Publix! They have absolutely everything you could possibly want. The fresh food is delicious and the staff is so nice and helpful. I love that they have so many fresh food stations, I haven’t seen that at any other Publix location. Their subs and wings are amazing
If there was the new Gandy Publix, talk about one stop shopping big aisles and a huge store with everything, and over by the deli fresh salads pizza handmade and the hot meals are fabulous this Publix has something for everyone that is why I give it a 5 star review
While shopping is always a pleasure at Publix, this location edges out the others because there is a bar, with some really good beers on tap. There are even cupholders in the carts so you can grab one on your way in and take the edge off while you shop. …
Wanted to give a review on this birthday cake I ordered for my mom. It was absolutely AMAZING!! The best birthday cake I've ever had from a publix. They added natilla with freshly sliced strawberries into the center. Props to whoever made this one!!!
Collin in the deli department was extremely helpful and super sweet ...he goes above and beyond.. I appreciate him, and I'm sure publix does also ....He exceeds the customer service level 500 stars ...thank you, Collin 4, being a great man …
Store is huge with lots of options. However we observed the hot food bar items looking dried out and old before 7 p.m. The deli where subs are made was so bad we will never go to that store again based on the experience. Ordered online got
I've written an earlier review at the time of this stores grand opening.. I shop at all of our Publix locations south of i275. I have everything memorized as far as: product locations, pricing and the store employees! I always try to help
I used to go to a store called Wegmans when I lived up north and have missed it so much. I haven't been able to find anything close to it until now. A couple days ago I happened to be in the area and saw this Publix. I was hungry and I
This is the best Publix in the area. They make hot food, burritos, pizza, sandwiches, etc. the store was clean, staff was very polite and nice. There was plenty of parking in the parking lot. We will definitely be shopping here again.
What is going on with the Publix rotisserie chickens??? We usually get a couple of them every week!! But the one we picked up today was a ripoff!! I have seen bigger pigeons than the supposed "chicken" they were passing off today!!!
I love the upgrades to this Publix. The staff is so amazing and helpful. I want to personally thank Tim in the seafood department he provided excellent service and fixed the issue without hesitation. Thank you for stellar service!
The new Publix at Gandy and Himes is the best yet. I really enjoy all the hot food options and places to sit inside and out. The Poke bowls are made to order, fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong and the price his perfect.
Great store that offers hot foods, pizza, and much more. Produce was much fresher here, and the associates talk to you more at this location, which makes you feel like they appreciate your business. Thanks for the great job.
I never review much but I just wanted to say how great Maria is. I ordered a Buffalo chicken tender pub sub from her and her kindness and genuine friendliness cheered me up for the rest of the day. Thank you so much Maria
All the great service you've come to love and expect from the shopping experience at Publix in a state-of-the-art store. Creature comforts galore including a bar, pizza shop, sushi stand and Chipotle-like burrito stand.
yesterday I had an insane experience over here at this Publix especially at the bar area. We had a really good service especially from Crystal who was serving us. I do recommend everyone comes here to this Publix.
Almost all Publix employees are friendly and professional. I am noticing more often than used to be employees who are indifferent to customers, or who are more focused on talking to the bagger than the customer.
I love the new Publix experience they have a new Pizza area,if u would like to graph a drink you can. I love the new Publix, the only downfall is the prices and everything or going up, and you can still see it!
Have tried other grocery stores but keep coming back due to their the attention to the customer needs. Every associate asks if we are finding everything we're looking for. Customer service second to none.
Pharmacy is always helpful, cashiers are always pleasant and the manager helpd me out with a charge. Now that I've been shopping there since its been opened, I can find everything I need without asking.
This is a lovely new Publix. Clean, organized and has added specialty things such as a little "restaurant area" where you can eat , and lots of prepared foods to choose from. A must stop in Tampa!!!
The staff is super friendly and helpful, gives positive vibes. Crystal at the publix pours is amazing so are her protein smoothies and her service. If you like diversity, this publix is for you!
This store was rebuilt, the pizza can be made for you. They have, salad bar you can make a pizza.OI ordered the mushroom and marsala chicken with pasta ..oh so goood..Big store but well done
Beautiful store!! Huge selection. The prepared food options in the deli are great!! So good!! The cheeseburger pizza and cold brew coffee was so good! My wife enjoyed her poke bowl.
It's always nice to have a brand new store with wide aisles and everything clean and bright, especially when it's in a convenient, familiar location. Pours is a pleasant addition.
They have the Tanner crabs in stock I spoke with George and seafood he had me all taken care of when I showed up in the evening. They even steam the crabs right there best seafood
WOW, just wow... first Publix I've been to were you can buy a beer up front and then go shopping... I think they are trying to get men to shop more lol... it's working mwuahahha
Saying farewell to the old Publix plaza. These pictures may very well be the last of what is standing here right now and the rest will be entirely demolished in the coming days.
This is the nicest and most modern Publix. The food offerings are extensive and really good. Pizza oven, Asian food, Deli, Burritos and tacos, and a full service coffee and bar
This place is a tourist attraction! I can't wait for family to visit. I'm bringing them here! The Disney of supermarkets! This is truly an experience everyone should have!
Great publix, most are. Can get busy when everyone gets off work and on the weekends but that's due to the location. They just added a Starbucks inside which is nice.
Love the new Publix! Open concept, wide aisles, Pours Cafe, popcorn station, Sushi station, pizza area, made-to-order areas, great Seafood section, and so much more.
There's a guy there named Sway, gave me a top-tier experience and made me feel very welcome even though I came in very late you still took the time to help me out.
Staff very professional. A bit pricey but quality of food is excellent. Just wish they would have the Spring vegetable soup on weekends as well as during week.
Best publix in tampa so far! Bakery, customer service and staff are great. I do not know who is managing this Publix but he/she is doing his/her job very well!
One of my favorite place to shop. Ill get a coffee from the coffee bar before hand on off we go. Great customer servive, stocked shelves and always clean.
It's new, spiffy and clean. But it's very much "just another Publix". Why are there so many, so close together? (Two on Gandy, Britton Plaza, and Neptune)
Beautiful store, friendly associates, beer & wine bar, I requested the glass,, personally i do not care for stemless wine glasses. Tipping is NOT allowed!
Bought a turkey to cook for Christmas and ordered a bunch of sides to serve with it. Great idea that saved me a ton of time and the food was delicious.
Great, new concept store for Publix. Awesome beer bar, Smoothie bar, Pizza bar, Taco Bar, Sushi Bar and many more upgrades tailored to the community.
So happy to have "my" Publix back! STARR (in the Deli) saved me today! Thank you for 4lbs of smoked pork at the last minute. Everyone enjoyed it.
Great publix to shop at. Close to the base, it is perfect for those who live on base and want to get something. Very clean and sweet employees.
Not acceptable ole width through out store, especially around the end caps. Great place for variety in wine & beer, plus local organic product.
This has to be the nicest Publix. They have a Pub and multiple made-to-order food items. Love going here for a quick bite for lunch.
Confident that the food is quality. Also there are good prices available. Staff and store are always operating very professionally
The variety of hot food selections is astounding. The bar is a plus, and the employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming.
This is a great new store and model for Publix. I look forward to seeing this style as they expanded throughout their footprint.
Amazing place to shop!! Very clean, spacious. All employees were welcoming and helpful in finding items! Will definitely return!
Simply put- this is the greatest grocery store I have ever been to in my entire life. Without question this is The Place to Be!
This Publix is awesome after total reno and love it!!! Lack of personal connection like they used to have tho. …
Always a wonderful place to shop. The produce, the meat and seafood is fabulous. The bakery absolutely unsurpassed.
Friendly atmosphere and employees eager to assist or answer questions. A great shopping experience every time.
I am surprised how convenient we found everything inside the supermarket. I ate delicious food. Thank you.
Nicest store version in the Publix chain. A top of the line Publix store. Great self checkout layout too.
Never thought I'd be excited to go grocery shopping! This location, just the design alone left me in awe!
I ordered from the catering department and my order was ready and the checkout process was seamless.
Clean and nice but skip the pizza as it was hardtop chew and didn't stay very warm under the lights.
