"This pharmacy is mostly person-centered"
I don't normally leave bad reviews, but I must in case anyone is wondering if they should use this pharmacy. First: I have a skin condition, I need medication for it, repeatedly this pharmacy would ask very loudly where I'm putting this cream, and how much I'm using, without any care of volume or discretion. They once asked me several times if I needed a bag for an embarrassing label, to which I said yes to repeatedly, and I had to ask for a bag before leaving. They act like weird tyrants, and don't care about you, and the doctor is the one who doesn't know anything. Second: I have gotten medications filled there multiple times and each and every time they somehow lost, misplaced, or straight up could not find my insurance and I was put on their in house "discount card." The first time I had to pay out of pocket and thought my medication simply wasn't covered as they had told me over the counter. The next time I paid, I went home and looked up exactly what my insurance covered, called my doctor to verify, and made them pay me back, the very same teller that was paying me back seemed annoyed about the transaction like this happened a lot. Did this one time fix change anything? Nope, the very next time I went there they ouldn't find my insurance, on the discount card again. I asked why I was covered last time and not this time and she didn't know what to say to me. I just said I'm switching pharmacies. So when I go to the new pharmacy with all the same exact medication, guess what happens: No charge, simple transaction, no weird specific questions to make me uncomfortable, and I'm treated like a human being. Wild. Don't go here, I hope they get investigated for fraud they're likely committing by repeatedly "misplacing" insurance.
I used the Safeway app (the new one) to fill a script that was about out. After three days of not hearing anything, I called the pharmacy and was told that they had sent a refill request to the doctor which after calling my doctor was not the case at all. The doctor called the script in that afternoon but wasn't filled until the following afternoon. The following day, I receive a text message saying that the remainder of the script was ready for pick up. When I arrived at the pharmacy to pick this script up, I was told that they had nothing for me, even after showing the text to the pharm. tech. I was told that I could return after their lunch break (a half hour later) to pick it up, a request I found to be absurd. Upon calling the pharmacist this morning to try to determine where this script was. Surprisingly, I was informed that I called the pharm tech a name and as a result, I'm now banned. In my world, when I make a mistake, I apologize and, if needed, assume accountability for my actions. However, I find it appalling that the pharmacy chose to deflect the issue by doing this. This is an ethics issue and I intend to file a formal complaint with the State Pharmacy Board.I concur with many of the other reviewers by advising against anyone considering this pharmacy.
Having been issued an antibiotic prescription from a dentist on Monday to override the prescription written by an ER Doctor on Saturday, with instructions to stop taking the first Rx and start the second one asap 3 times daily for 7 days, I was given 3 capsules to get me started , which was all they had in stock. Told to come back Tuesday for the missing 18 capsules. I have an abcess on my jaw bone, with an infection that has the propensity to kill me. Called to check at 6 pm to hear that the shipment was not received today. Call back tomorrow to see if they have it. It is obvious when looking at me I have a swollen abcess and the prescription written by a dentist. A pharmacist should be knowledgeable enough to realize starting an antibiotic and stopping and missing the next 4 or 5 doses will put me right back where I started from with the hindrance of only 6 days medication, one day short of the 7 days. If it were vitamins, no harm; no foul. Realistically my health is in jeopardy due to this .
My first time in Portland for a while. My 12 year old daughter and I stopped at this Safeway for refreshments and a bathroom break. My daughter politely asked the woman at customer service where the restroom was, the woman didn’t even look up for about 15 seconds or acknowledge we were standing there. When she did finally look up, very rudely said the bathroom was plugged up and we’d have to go elsewhere. I asked if my daughter could use the men’s room as she really needed to go. The customer service rep said the store only had one co-ed bathroom for the whole store and that was it. She suggested my daughter go use the restroom at the 21+ bar across the street. Really?!
This pharmacy is mostly person-centered. They’ve helped me a lot during some tough situations with my scripts. They’ve been extremely cool about accommodations I need for my disabilities. Recently I was on the phone with a pharmacist & she was able to recognize that I was having a medical emergency - I will always be grateful for this moment!! It was meaningful that she followed up on it too. Another person who works there has gone above and beyond with building bridges for me when I’ve faced significant barriers. It’s nice to have folks on your team who remember you’re a human being & not just a customer or a case file number. I appreciate this place.
Pharmacy lost the paper copy of my prescription, I could not get into contact with anyone for a week. Everytime I call it goes to voicemail or I'm kept on hold for 15+ minutes. When I finally did get through to someone, they weren't able to offer mw any help, except to call back tomorrow and talk to someone else. I've been continually disappointed in this pharmacy for their long wait times, but I was willing to stay with them for convenience. However, this negligent behavior has made me decide to find another pharmacy. Their mistakes make have made a mess for me to deal with.
I dropped off two prescriptions. I was unsure how many refills were left. She assured me that she'd follow up with me within 24 hours. Four days later no one followed up and no prescriptions were filled, even though one refill was available. She blamed me for not calling my doctor, even though she chose not to inform me of the refill request needed or to fill the available prescription. Very disappointed in the poor customer service.
I've been getting my family's meds here for the last 13 years, and they've ALWAYS been super-helpful, no matter what the day, hour, or issue. They call me by name, greet me with a smile, and will go the extra mile when the going gets tough. Much friendlier than pharmacy staff at neighboring drug stores, in my experience. They are professional, knowledgeable, and kind.
It could be a nice.place except for all the bums asking you for weed or cans and money they are everywhere oh and ladies be careful parking in the underground garage there is alot of bad people down there. It doesn't look very safe to me. This is what the store looks like.. Safeway really needs to clean this one up and make it safer for the shoppers
I requested a refill at this Pharmacy on 11/4 and I just received it today 11/26. After making 12 phone calls to the pharmacy over the last few weeks. The customer service there is substandard and there district office does not care. I submitted a web request to them and was never given a call back. Horrible Horrible place to get your meds filled.
I've had bad experiences with Safeway Pharmacy in the past as far as wait times, not enough staff Etc. But I couldn't pay for my medication today and was humiliated and the pharmacist ended up buying it for me out of her own pocket. I've never experienced this kind of altruism before and I would recommend this location to anyone. Thank you Amber.
Do you ever wonder why most pharmacies have a bad rating it's because people who need medicine are miserable that's why they need the medicine you know, to make them happy again. The woman here was very nice and service was fast, ten billion stars
No customers at all at the pharmacy desk, they were obviously not busy based on the actions behind the counter - yet I stood there for over 30 mins while they puttered around. Worse customer service ever.
Thank you so much for bailing me out! The pharmacist here was able to renew my birth control prescription when my doctor’s office was failing to answer. She also gave me great advice. Thank you!
this has to be the worst collection of incompetence!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. The Pharmacy manager is the ONLY person there that is capable of anything!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PEOPLE AND PLACE
I love the fact that SAFEWAY is always available to the people. They always allow my CARE companion and I in, no problem. The people there are kind and curteous. Shout out to Mack. :)
Basic customer service I.just Called asked if they were.giving the pizer vaccine.shot.They.were nice.about.it and.yes.anybody can.call.safeway.phamacy.By.Llyod.cemter on Broadway
Gave a substitution for pain medication and did not even tell me. Now I need to go back to my doctor for a new prescription. This pharmacy is really inconsistent.
Not bad, when they are open. Though I have to ask what is the point of a pharmacy when the people that work there do not work the hours listed?
Every time I go there nothing is ready. Yesterday they told me to come back in 20 minutes. Came back an hour later still not done. Never again?
Only three check outs open on a busy Sunday afternoon. I would have walked out if I had known how long the wait was going to be.
Evening Staff is very rude Whoever is covering, they need to find a replacement or find better quality workers
Takes way too long to fill simple orders, can never ever give a straight answer on how long it will take
Staff are always friendly and helpful and prescriptions are filled correctly and on time.
Got asked if I smoked weed becuase I was trying to be friendly to pharmacist... so yaa...
Easiest pharmacy experience I've ever had. Other Safeways should take note. Thank you!
They were pretty rude to me on my first visit, and won’t answer any phone calls
No one told me they closed at six! Rite aid stays open till 8. Switching.
Read the other reviews; they're not lying. Incompetent at every level.
It’s always been a positive experience at this locations pharmacy.
One of the best. Always willing to help me anyway they can.
Pharmacy is horrible as per usual for Safeway.
Covid walk-ins. Quick, and the nurse is hot.
They're generally pretty on the ball.
The staff here are all very kind.
Pharmacist Amber is the best!!!
Sooooooooo sloooooow!!
Nice
