This is review is for my experience ordering online. I haven't visited Saffron's actual storefront (yet). My father asked me to help order flowers for my mother to celebrate their 34th anniversary. I spent an hour or two looking through other flower stores' websites, amazed by how underwhelming and overpriced their offerings were. When I opened Saffron's page, I knew I'd found my florist. Every arrangement is custom-made, and you can select your budget (which you can also elect to include the shipping cost) for flowers with or without a vase. They have sections where you specify style and colors. The styles are: Simple/Understated Traditional/Classic Contemporary/Modern Abstract/Asymmetric Wild/Loose Wild/Full A little bit of everything One type flower only I chose Simple/Understated and Wild/Loose, describing something that would look like it was freshly cut from a garden. I also listed flowers that fit the image. Someone at Saffron got in touch with me soon after to tell me they were out of stock for certain flowers since it was Sunday, but if I was okay pushing the delivery back a day, they would receive more Monday. He couldn't have been nicer about it. The delivery itself went without a hitch, and they adjusted the message on the card as I requested (I added in "belated" because I agreed to have the bouquet delivered a day late). Though bouquets usually cost more if you request specific flowers, Saffron was able to accommodate my $75 budget. As you can see in the photos, the arrangement is beautiful. It also feels like it was made to last, as it's still lovely a week later. My mom loves it! My only complaint is that the website doesn't have a gallery of examples of Saffron's works. It would have been especially helpful if there were images to demonstrate exactly what they meant by each style category.

Great Service and friendly staff- go the extra mile. I called from overseas for a delivery of a single rose for my girlfriend. I also wanted a letter printed out and attached to the delivery. Though this was an unusual request, and communication was broken up by a bad connection and a considerable time difference, both Kana and Asher were super friendly and helpful, and gave me a reasonable price. They took extra care to make sure the delivery went out that day, but my GF didn't make it easy for them- she unknowingly had her phone off and the doorbell was broken.. They didn't give up, sent me an email, and went out again after closing hours, just to make this happen on the same day. So very thankful for their great service. My only regret is that I didn't get to see the flower they delivered myself, but judging by the picture and the reaction I got from her- I have a feeling the presentation matches the service...

Terrible custom service. The woman who helped me (4/15/23) made me feel like my presence was an inconvenience, like I was bothering her by coming to the store to buy flowers. When I told her my budget ($30) she basically rolled her eyes and then proceeded to do nothing to help, suggest, brainstorm, or work with me. She maybe spoke 3 words to me the entire time. The first arrangement she made was genuinely ugly - as if she wanted to prove a point and embarrass me for having such a "low budget"? Or pressure me into spending more? Total with tax was $35. The 3 flowers pictured were $21, which meant the 2 tiny twigs of green filler were $10?? Give me a break. The final kicker? The flowers drooped after 1 day. Will never go back there.

I walked into the store looking for some nice greens and flowers to make a flower crown. The two staff working there in the small shop did not greet me (I was the only person in there). I explained to the male staff member I'd like help picking out some flowers for the crown and he barely gave me the time of day. I struggled to make a decision, which was pretty obvious and continued to be ignored. I finally made my decisions and was shocked at the price for a few pieces of greens and a single flower, over $30 plus. I won't be going back to this place. I live in the neighborhood and there are a few other flower shops where the staff is friendly and helpful and the flowers are just as beautiful and not as overpriced.

Visited on 8/16/13, Friday after work looking for a small bouquet to welcome my wife back home from her trip. The owner was very friendly and was helpful in deciding what kind of bouquet to get, and was mindful of my budget up front. The guy is very meticulous and really knows his craft. He put together something very pretty and didn't rush it. When it was done it had the feeling of a unique handmade creation rather than generic flowers from your typical florist. I noticed that a lot of his flowers have a vintage look to them if you appreciate that sort of thing. Definitely would recommend giving this place a try.

Sincere thank you to the staff at the Essex Market location for being so helpful. Put in an order for Valentines Day. I chose one flower from the display which caught my eye, and they worked with me to ideate a full bouquet. Picked it up an hour before my date and they greeted me in excitement that the bouquet was ready and I cannot believe how amazing and distinct it looked, and neither could she. The attention to detail is the biggest selling point of this shop, they really care about the services they offer. Going to recommend this place to everyone I know. Thank you!

I began working with Saffron for my wedding in 2020, which was postponed to 2022. I was completely and utterly blown away by how artful and perfect the bouquet they created for me was. They were organized and communicative throughout the rescheduling process and really tried to get a sense of my personal style, even though as a non-artist myself that is so difficult for me to put into words. Somehow they still completely nailed it. I've never seen a more beautiful bouquet and am so grateful for their time and dedication!

Amazing bouquets come from this tiny nondescript storefront. Well, technically, I suppose they come from the staff inside but you know what I mean. Needed some flowers for an anniversary recently so reached out to them. Staff member who took my call was very friendly and helpful, asking about occasion and preferred style. Scheduled the pickup for a few days later and could not have been more pleased with the result. Bouquet was gorgeous!! Staff inside were also very friendly. Will definitely return in the future.

Sent flowers from out of town. After talking with Asher, he let me know that the best time to send out flowers was the beginning of the week because they go to the flower market on Mondays. The flowers were beautiful when they arrived. The shop was excellent at handling the details, including a last minute change to the card. This is not your run of the mill shop, if you want something special, go here! Don't hesitate to call them with any concerns, they are very nice on the phone. Will order again.

I had and excellent experience here . The staff was very accommodating and allowed me to come in well before the store opened because I was in a hurry. Their selection of flowers are beautiful and UNIQUE. I was assisted in creating a beautiful bouquet for my mothers birthday AND she threw in an extra rose. If you want a sophisticated selection of flowers that you don't just find in every cheap grocery store; come to Saffron!

TERRIBLE. I PAID ALMOST $700 dollars for 4 florals that looked terrible for my corporate seated dinner. I wanted more pampas grass , baby’s breath and more dried floral vs grass. I don’t feel that this is a great center piece for a big client. Very disappointed bc I used my own vases and delivered them to this location. VERY OVERPRICED. Never will use them again.

Tiny gem of a shop. Walked in late one evening this week and was given thoughtful advice and service - and most beautiful wild-looking flowers with wonderful scent. The bouquet was made over about 20 minutes while I waited - amazing to watch the care that went into it. Beautifully wrapped and now enjoying at home. Thank you so much. Wonderful

This place is great! It's a little pricy but they definitely worth it. I spend 20-30 every time, so it's not that expensive for new flowers weekly. They have great variety of flowers and stuff here are very helpful. The moment you walk in you will know they have a good taste and this place is different from the others.

Fortunate to have this non-traditional flower shop in the area. They have a great eclectic array of flowers, plants and vases. The staff are friendly and passionate about what they do and treat each arrangement like a work of art. They even have small pre-made arrangements ready to go for around $15.

Tiny selection and very weird vibe. Both of them just stared at me as I walked in and no help was offered. I ended up buying flowers because I had to, and I must admit that the flowers looked very nice and was well arranged. The flowers gave them two stars and the lack of service took three away.
