10/10 would reccomend! I'm leaving this review on behalf of my senior parents who recently visited me in San Francisco from Kansas. They, along with an Aunt and Uncle who were also visiting, stayed at Seal Rock for 6 days while they were in town. They were all very happy with their stay, and had nothing but great things to say about the Seal Rock Inn. My Mom uses mobility aids such as a walker or wheelchair, so we made sure there was an elevator on-site before booking. That made it very easy for her to access the rooms, as they're all above the ground floor. They said the staff were always friendly and accomodating if they had questions or needed something, and were always courtious and polite in passing. I suggested Seal Rock to them, as I frequently go for walks at Land's End, (right across the street!) and had seen the place in passing. I always thought it looked like a really neat vintage hotel property, but had never met anyone who'd stayed there. I also enjoyed getting to visit my parents at Seal Rock Inn, and get to see it from the inside. The Inn gives me vintage California Mountain Lodge vibes. It has a huge open interior courtyard with a pool, table-tennis, and other activities for guests to enjoy. I also saw laundry on site, which is a nice plus. There is ground level parking at the building. It is listed as "first come first serve," but we never had an issue getting a parking spot on-site. The rooms were spacious and very comfortabale. The decor was vintage, but well kept and very neatly appointed. I personally thought the vintage decor really added to the cool vibe. My parents room had a queen bed along with a sleeper sofa and cozy chairs. There was plenty of storage space, which is great since my dad likes to load up on the snacks his hotel rooms! The bathroom and dressing area were nicely appointed, and easily accessable for my mom. Also, THE VIEWS! I couldn't get over the beautiful views of Sutro Heights and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The rooms have HUGE windows that allow you to take full advantage of some really stunning Pacific views. As usual, most of the days during their visit were foggy San Francisco summer days, but we got a few really spectacular clear sunsets, and had a prime view! Overall, I would highly recommend the Seal Rock Inn to anyone wanting a quiet and idyllic place to stay on the western shores fo San Francisco. I'll definitely be recommending the place to friends an family who visit in the future! I'd also like to personally thank the Seal Rock Inn for helping to take care of my parents during their visit, and ensuring they had a really great time while visiting! Thank You!

Super Disappointed! I got into a SHOUTING MATCH with the manager over the phone. Once you are yelling at your customers - you are wrong. That is just customer service 101. The backstory: I was quoted $160.00 over the phone when I made the reservation. I stayed 2 nights. I found charges for 207.11 and 212.87 on my card. Now, I am an easy going guy. If they had told me, hey its actually 185.00 on the weekends at some point during my stay, I really would not have cared. But, to discover it later, call to complain, and then end up in a shouting match with the manager - WOW! What is the point of apologizing and then yelling at me? It is really disappointing because I live close by and I wanted to keep returning whenever I wanted some peace and quiet from the housemates, ya know? BTW - there is no restaurant here. You have to go to the amenities page on their website for them to admit that. I did not have any heat - the knob on the wall was stuck, did not turn. It also smelled weird. I have a high quality face mask and it still smells like the room, three days later. So, yeah - if they had just comped me a day or something, anything really, I would have returned many times with my family. But to raise your voice at me? No way will I ever return.

Right now, because of COVID, they're only taking guests contracted through the SFVAMC. I'm one of those guests. The staff is friendly, they have COVID protocols in place, the rooms are spacious and have desks, a TV, mini fridge (no freezer though), 4-cup coffee maker, microwave, and tile shower that is easy to step into. The room key cards are wireless so barely tapping it unlocks the door. And there's a tiny elevator that moves quickly, so no having to deal with the stairs, as all rooms are 1 to 3 floors above street level. It's too bad that the restaurant and coffee shop on site appear to be closed, but a minor inconvenience and no fault of the hotel. There is a Walgreens between the hotel and the SFVAMC, that has some groceries including TV dinners, and local restaurants that have delivery through GrubHub that can be ordered through Yelp. And the SFVAMC cafeteria is open I believe from 7am-3pm. Hope this info helps my fellow veterans that get set up here when Hoptel is overbooked. Not being on SFVAMC property is a minor inconvenience, but if you're a smoker, you'll enjoy not having to go as far to be allowed to smoke since the SFVAMC is now a 100% non-smoking, non-vaping campus.

I usually stay in downtown SF but decided to try something a little bit outside and found this hidden gem of a place. The room we stayed in was newly remodeled and very clean and cozy. It comes with microwave and mini fridge. In the center of the hotel (just outside your door) there is a recreation area with a pool, ping pong table, corn hole, and volleyball net. Parking just below the hotel which is free but limited. The hotel is directly in front of the ocean and a nice walking path so you can go to the beach during the day or night and even take a walk on the path. The only cons I have are: 1) not much nearby in terms of food or stores but this isn't much of a con really as you still have couriers that can bring food or you would just have to drive out. 2) Our neighbors had kids and we could hear them screaming most of the night. Not necessarily the fault of the hotel and this is an older hotel so it doesn't have modern sound proofing. Overall, for the price, this hotel is amazing and in a great location. I will definitely be adding to my favorite spots.

Only had breakfast there this time. Open for breakfast and lunch. Good selections, ocean view, unpretentious, quiet, very casual. Staff very service oriented. We've been back many times. Street parking, but pretty easy. We didn't stay in a room this time, because we live pretty close by, but I have stayed one night in the past for an impromptu tiny vacation and the rooms were clean and adequate. Nothing fancy. Some rooms have ocean view, book early. Others look out on beautiful trees across the street in a lovely Park. Guest parking underneath the motel, street level. Unattended. Right across the street there are long easy trails along the ocean, pretty level, in a different section of Golden Gate National Recreation reserve. Golden Gate Bridge views from the trails. Public transit stops right at the motel, with grocery and other stores and restaurants only a short ride away. The same bus goes right across SF to Downtown. Theaters, Symphony Hall, nationally recognized large clothing and accessories stores. Laffs! No I don't work for them in any way, just had a few captured minutes to review the motel.

It used to be a nice place to visit, and it still is... for the exception of the Irish waitress. I'm part Irish myself, so you cannot say I'm a racist. However, this Irish girl knowingly overcharged us over $10.00! We go there somewhat often and we always get the same exact thing. Yet this time, she charged us $10 more than what it is supposed to be. We checked with another waitress... she herself said, "Wait a minute, this is too much!... I'll go ask "her" ( our so-called waitress,) and check... When she came back, she was kind of hiding her eyes and she said, "well, she said that's the right price." So much for the Irish woman's seniority!. So we feel like huge fools for having left her a nice tip on the table and then getting ripped off over $10.00 !!!! It's obvious she knowingly and premeditatedly stole our money. So if you do go there for their good food... Make sure you don't have the Irish waitress!!! It's too bad such a nice place has to be ruined by one sick, thieving individual!!!!!

My father booked this place for my fiancé, two kids and myself. First off, there was a serious funky smell in the room when we walked in. I actually went and bought a can of lemon Lysol to make the room smell better. The bed covers were stained and dirty. The walls were dirty and covered in marks. This apparent two bedroom place was one bedroom with a moveable partition to split the room. I actually complained to the woman(blonde with heavy accent) at the front desk and she apologized but offered nothing to help. My kids didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in the beds so I asked for extra clean sheets to put over the ones currently in the beds and she accused me of possibly having more than the 4 people we were supposed to have. The fridge didn’t keep anything warm, there is the tiniest coffee pot in the world which makes one cup at a time. Seriously overpriced for what this room has to offer and the condition it’s in. We will not be returning here. The only nice thing about it is the location.

I really enjoyed myself at this little Inn, site has parking, I felt very safe and front desk staff were great. Room was older in decor but very well done and it was a nice blend of vintage with modern technology like phone charging lamp stands and a great TV. Quiet outside and comfortable bed and shower was great. My only reason this place didn’t get 5 stars is the fact that they charge $50.00 for a late check out. I have stayed in hotels, motels and Inns around the world as I traveled extensively before retirement. I have never heard of this, maybe It is common and I am unaware. But at $164.00 a night plus $30.0+ in taxes and fees a $50.00 fee for an hour late check out seems a bit greedy. I am here for a medical procedure at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, a 1:30pm appt and that extra hour would have been perfect. But with a fixed, disability income it’s just too much. I can’t walk much so I will sit in the VA parking lot. Anyway, that’s it. Hope this helps y’all.

We recently stayed in the one queen and two twin room. For the price, there is a lot of space, the fireplace is great and it has a pretty good view of the ocean. There are two reasons that I am giving a 2 star review. The first reason being that the shower went ice cold on both me and my four year old in the middle of our showers. I still had conditioner in my hair which I had to rinse out in the sink. Also, the shower head is atrocious. It partly sprays but mainly just dumps out at the base of the head. The second reason for my 2 star review is because when my husband pulled out one of the twin beds to get it ready for our son to sleep in, there was what appeared to be a huge blood stain on the bottom portion of the bed (I have pictures). Thankfully there was a second bed to use otherwise I would have called down to the front desk about it.

It's been years since I visited this area of San Francisco and I'm so fortunate that my son purchased a night for us at the Seal Rock Inn. What a fabulous place! It's spacious, clean, & has all the amenities, including a full coffee bar, microwave, fridge and an absolutely beautifully renovated bathroom/shower. It's very close to the hiking trail that goes to the Sutro Baths...a long and highly recommended part of San Francisco history, which includes the Cliff House, sadly no longer there, and the Great Highway with a stretch of beach, beautiful for strolling. The succulent flowers and cypress trees all covered in a fine mist which is the fog floating over from the ocean touches my heart ❤️.

This is one of the great places to stay in San Francisco. I have stayed here quite a few times and it's a very cozy little hotel. The rooms are very clean and they have fireplaces and if you go in the summertime they have a swimming pool plus the beach is right across the street. If you don't want to drive your car you can easily take an Uber or a Lyft downtown or if you're adventurous you can take a bus, San Francisco has a fantastic transportation system.

The twin beds are so small no adult can sleep on them comfortably, and the bedding is underneath a couch cover they put on the mattress, so you spend the whole day thinking you have no bedding for the twin beds. Also the city clear air busses frequently park in front of the hotel, and it is very noisy at night. The front desk lady did not answer her phone the 3 times I called and I had to go down to the lobby and interrupt her and her boyfriend smoking to ask for extra pillows and blankets, because as I mentioned the bedding for the twin beds are hidden underneath a cover, and the front desk doesn’t tell you that. The elevator is really small, and doesn’t hold the luggage carts and 2 people, just one. It is very pricy for all of these flaws.

We stayed in this inn 2 weeks ago for 3 nights during the weekend for the first time. Someone highly recommended this place, and it is a hidden gem. It is not a fancy high rise hotel, and the inn is a little outdated. We had a family room that sleeps 4 and it was spacious. The bathroom was newly renovated. It included useful appliances (coffee maker, mini-fridge). It had free parking and the inside courtyard had play area with ping pong table and pool. The location was awesome since it was away from the noisy, hustle and bustle of San Francisco. We loved the area in Sutro District. It was across the street from Lands End Lookout and there were trails leading to spectacular landmarks and sites. The staff were nice. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again next time.

Excellent location in SF near Lands End and the ocean. View and nice park walks. Open air pool. Lift. Parking. No meals served. Close to public bus. If you get rooms 104/5 204/5 304/5 its worth the money charged. Room103 in we stayed, was small, equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, just shower. Water in sink and shower just trickling, we used cups to complete the project .

Good little American restaurant We often go here for breakfast when we are down on the coast. We have never needed to wait for a table and the service is fast and efficient while not feeling like they are waiting for you to leave. The menu is fairly generic American diner/restaurant fare and is done pretty well. I often judge a new place by the Hollandaise sauce and theirs is just right. I gave them five stars because they are what they should be for this type of restaurant, you never have to wait long, you never have to ask for more coffee (OK, someone, someday, must have drunk it faster than expected, but not me), and it doesn't cost tourist prices. So we keep going back.

Our room (201) was a bit dated, but so spacious, that we give 4 stars for it. Once it got renovated, this will be a five star rating. The souroundings and the location is just perfect, if you look for a retreat from the city noises, but there are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby, so be aware of this beforehand. The real gem of this place, working on werkends, is Yasemin. She's an angel sent from heaven and the sweetest person! If you have the chance to meet her, take some time out of your day and have a really soothing and wonderful chat with her. We love her!

I feel so lucky we booked here! We can take a beautiful walk through a park straight to the beach with so many places to explore. I was not expecting our room to be this big and cozy. Perfect for our family. We got a fireplace room. After going to the ocean it was so nice to come to this room take a nice hot shower and relax in front of the fireplace. The service is amazing. A very kind man Heeman checked us in and brought us extra blankets and pillows. I hope to stay here every time we visit San Francisco.

Older Inn, some rooms are cleaner looking than others. They could use a few new items of bed spreads to replace the stained ones. Housekeeping staff is very friendly and always helpful. We did not need housekeeping on a daily basis just new towels and we always help them out with that. The cafe is an average Cafe with basic breakfast and lunch food prices are high for this style of food. The silverware, chairs and tables are very old and could be eventually replaced. but it's convenient if you're in a pinch... fabulous location. Walking distance to the Golden Gate Park different areas of the park. Walk down to the ocean. Walk down to the Cliff House Restaurant..

Big bedrooms, almost like suites, overlooking a pine clad park with the glow of the sea in the distance shining through. Bright and airy. The furniture, in its day, which must have been around 1980s would have been top of the range, now looking tired but perfectly functional and quite attractive in its own way. Aging beds and carpet but clean and comfortable ... absolutely fine. It's a little way away from downtown, but we used Uber which proved to be very cost effective. We did use our car but parking is a nightmare and expensive. Suggest potential guests agree prices formally at the time of booking as there seems to be some confusion. Very highly recommended.

Spitefully wouldn’t let my daughter use the toilet in the restaurant today. Not a very friendly welcome to San Fran. Thankfully Ocean Beach Cafe round the corner were much more friendly and understanding Update: If there is no public restroom as stated in your response, a better response to my daughter from your member of staff could have included this explanation and maybe even directing her to somewhere that does have a restroom. Rather than rudely replying “No” when she asked to please use the toilet. This isn’t even really about customer service it’s about just being a decent human being and to a child nonetheless.

  • interlock9999

I like the little breakfast place. Always crubbin and yummy. Staff is always nice and coffee is always filled. Yummy yummy yummy. Update. Last time I was here we sat at the table for a good six minutes before deciding to get up and walk out.. They weren't even busy. Then the waiter response to me saying we are leaving was rude. I've been coming here for many years and the waiter just blew us off wasn't a good feeling at all. Is this how you get to treated being a patron for many years at this place. I'll still leave my five stars rating up there because it is good food and a good place to eat. But I won't be back

  • Eugene catrambone

I don't know how to give this place a fair shake because I'm torn. I so want to love this place, but it was hard to overlook the room and the service. Things like, we asked for extra towels and they just couldn't get their act tother to get us the towels. And the room. The room needed updating and was different than described by the website. It made it sound like the rooms would be divided a bit, and they were not. Just was square room with a bathroom. It needed painting badly. On the bright side, the price was right, especially for San Francisco.

Great service!!! I'm very impressed. We've stayed in quite a few nice hotels and even at fancy ones service is always hit or miss. Right when you walk in the door you are greeted and immediately feel welcome. They noted by baby immediately and gave her a welcome backpack filled with goodies and even brought up a glass of milk and cookies for her! It's also a great location in the financial district with easy access to San Francisco town, northbeach, union square and the ferry bldg! Would definitely stay here again!

Long story short. Jasmine saved the day! Because of her kindness we decided to stay additional days. She really is awesome. The hotel is aged, rooms are fine and very big. We love this hotel because of the staff and its charm. Free parking, plenty to do in the area. Beach 2 min away. Way less traffic than most sites and hiking trails right outside your door. We will going back again and again.

One of my favorite spots for early breakfast, right by Lands End Lookout, and all the staff is super nice and give great service. I get sides of eggs and spinach, they use coconut oil. Coffee is good. Yesterday they had banana nut muffins and today they have giant pieces of baklava! For all that it will still be around $10. Fast service, and the spinach comes out on a skillet and a great chef every time as well. Really good place to go!

I needed a place close to my daughter's place and this was the closest. Upon opening the door, the place had that smell of a place that had not been open for a long time. After opening the window and airing the place, all was fine. I actually like this place, close to the beach, trails, and bus stop! The staff is extremely polite! Food is good! I have no complaints! Family atmosphere, so if you don't mind the sound of a few kids and Want to take a dip in the pool! Come on down!

  • Katie Siddiqui

The breakfast here is wonderful! There is never a wait, the food comes out fast, and the prices are fair. The waitresses are just okay, but they do have an incredible and sweet older busboy who is absolutely charming! After a hike at Land's End across the street, the Seal Rock Inn's breakfast burrito is just about the best thing that can happen to you. Keep in mind, you have to walk through the Inn's entrance to get to the Restaurant. You don't have to stay there to go to it.

  • Scott L.

I love this hotel. We stay there a couple of times a year and it's always a delight to be there. Situated a block or so from Land's End Lookout and the Ciff House and the shining Pacific, you cannot help but be exhilarated. It also has a wonderful little cafe with bay window views of Land's End and the ocean. It's a bit old fashioned and that's part of its charm. Enjoy the walking paths at Land's End that take you around the edge and get a rare vantage of the Golden Gate.

The shower was super clean. They leave each room vacant for 2 days between guests in order to prevent from COVID-19. We stayed at room 204, the location was near the sea, the view was great. The only con was that it was kinda hard to get any food delivered to our location, especially because of COVID. There weren't many restaurants in a walking distance. We waited for 1+ hour to get things delivered thru UberEats and Grubhub.

Good: This hotel is conveniently located near the beach, making it an excellent choice for visitors with a car who are visiting San Francisco. Bad: There was a lot of noise coming from the guests during the night, which I also found to be an issue. The walls are very thin, which was the main problem. I also found the shower stream to be very weak.

This is a review for the Seal Rock hotel, not the restaurant. I was told that this place was "filthy," and I see some of these reviews claim similar things. All I can say is, this wasn't my experience at all. The room was clean, the people easy to work with, and the location is fantastic - quiet, right next to the ocean as well as a bus stop. The location is probably the real reason to stay here. Plenty of parking, too.

  • Mark Dulac

This was a nice and quiet inn to stay at while we visited several places nearby. It is on the bluff with ocean views and has a small open parking garage. It is not the most up to date interior wise but it was quiet, clean and comfortable. We would stay here again. About a 12 minute drive to Golden Gate park and 15 minutes to the zoo. Lots of neat things to do in the parks and beaches right across the street.

  • Sean R

The design is such that the restrooms across from the dining area, out the front door and straight across! So you may get up and have a smoke break and chill out if you need to leave the table. It's great. So is customer service. I like the French man in particular that checks in guests as well as the one always railing against Donald Trump (a bit heavier than the French man)

This is not a 5 star for normal reasons.it is a 5 star for the friendliness of the staff, the professionalism of the front desk, the unbelievable restaurant in the hotel, and the functionality of the rooms. All have a view, some have fireplaces and the hotel in on a main bus line. Its older but has been renovated and it is in a quiet neighborhood. Have stayed multiple times and will continue to do so.

My second time staying here in a year. So close to the beach, you really can't beat it. If you get a room on the west side, 2nd or 3rd floor, you'll have a nice view of the ocean. Walking distance from the Cliff House and Sutro Heights. The hotel itself is a little dated, but their prices are fair and staff are accommodating. Parking is limited so be prepared to search if you come on a busy weekend.

  • Jaynel Moore

I really love this place. Really nice people and good food in the restaurant. I wish they would put some money into updating the rooms. The shear curtains were stained and dirty, the drapes needed a cleaning badly as well as the carpet. The desk chair was so threadbare that the stuffing was exposed. My room was huge and the free parking is a big bonus. Great location.

This is the best kept secret in San Francisco, along with the park across the street from it. Why?! Because it's OLD and because those in the know, mostly locals, will put their relatives and their families in there while they're visiting San Francisco. It's priced reasonably compared the other hotels in San Francisco. The rooms come with queen or king beds AND two twin beds for your kids.

  • Dawson Lange

We had a wonderful breakfast here. You will be hard pressed to find a solid restaurant in SF where you can show up, get seated right away, have a view of the ocean, and be served great food. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The breakfast was really fresh and the staff was wonderful. Bonus: You can hike some incredible trails right across the street after you eat a big breakfast.

Clean but slightly outdated building. Very good location near a cypress and eucalyptus park. Great hike trail in the nearby parks. Very large rooms with huge windows. Great deal anyway for San Francisco area to stay. A bus stop just nearby running #38 directly to downtown.

I want to thank the front-desk man of this place. Last Friday, I stopped in the opposite corner because my pressure was low and I was almost passed out and this guy saw the situation, came out and offered me some sweets and a coke. it was really nice! went with a friend and there grandparents for 3/4 days. we didn't really stay in the hotel bc we were exploring there in sf. only like 5/10 walk to the beach. This is a locally famous restaurant, so thought it worth a try for brunch. Actually had a pretty good Eggs Benedict. It's not glamorous, pretty dingy and could use a thorough cleaning. The bathroom is across the driveway of the hotel, and the hotel clerk was not interested that the bathroom had no paper. I can check it off my SF list of famous places.

I am reviewing the restaurant. We love this little gem. We walk our dogs at Ocean Beach and stop here on our way back for brunch. The view is lovely. But even if you dont get a view, wherever you sit is okay. The food comes out hot and fresh. The coffee is good. We have had breakfast and lunch...both delicious!

Stayed for a first trip to San Francisco and loved our stay. Quiet, clean, and spacious room. All the staff was so kind. The fireplace was fantastic. Loved being close to the ocean and trails. Easy to get to downtown, but loved leaving the bustle of the city for a quieter area. We’ll pick this hotel again when we make another trip to the city.

My Aunt and I come here about once a week the food and service is alway's great!!! Even when it is really busy the food still come's out quick!! You will never be left with an empty coffee cup. As a Sous chef I am always amazed at the consistency of food and service, Jesus is my favorite server...keep up the good work, see you next week!!!!

  • Adam Cohen

Friendly guest services at this funky little place at the edge of the world. Don't miss out on a fantastic breakfast downstairs, a million dollar hike just across the street that leads to sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and for dinner skip the cliff house and go to Pacific Cafe just a few blocks away (best seafood spot in SF).

  • BOYD NOWLIN

Found a toenail in the bed also hair on the toilet seat room smelt musty, dingy Have a family next door of 5 very loud and it was very loud until the middle of the night and early in the morning. They need to update their website also the rooms were very costly for what we received

We had a great stay at Seal Rock Inn! I'll be honest, the furniture is a little dated, however, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great, the view of the ocean and location were wonderful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and we will come back again very soon!

  • Grey Skold

A bit pricy for the food, but this restaurant hotel is a local hot spot for great American breakfast. Beautiful view of the ocean along with it, and a nice, hardworking staff. Conveniently located near point lobos, lands end, cliff house, and beach! A must visit for food and natural site seeing.

  • Stephen Buccambuso

You just won't find a stay with more old San Francisco atmosphere than the Seal Rock Inn! The rooms are a unique blend of updated and vintage, and almost all have great views of the ocean beyond the Sutro bath houses. Right on the edge of Golden Gate recreation area, this place is fantastic.

  • Todd Ganos

Don't call it dated and tired. Call it retro. Quiet setting. It is situated directly across from the Sutro Park, where Adolph Sutro had his Mansion. It is walking distance from the Cliff House and the ruins of Sutro Baths. For what it is, it is an affordable place to stay in San Francisco.

  • Three Ng Circus

The room was clean but a little tired. Had a musty smell as well. See if you can get a room on the Point Lobos side otherwise you'll listen to the 38 Geary bus come and go all night. Convenient access to the Presidio and various trails.

Greated immediately as we entered the restaurant. Welcoming crew, fast service in taking orders and serving food. Food was HOT when served, so delicious, coffee was flowing, and all wait staff was friendly. We lingered for a bit and felt absolutely no pressure to move us along.

The restaurant has a great view of the ocean, and the food is very good. The service is amazing - your food comes in under ten minutes and the waitstaff is excellent! The hotel is also very nice, with clean and recently renovated rooms. A wonderful place to eat or stay.

  • Brian Hom

Seal Rock inn is probably the most wholesome and American style place you can eat at. On a Sunday, this is always nice. The prices have gone up but definitely cheaper than cliff house. My family has been going for years and I will probably keep going for years to come.

  • Shanti Dks

Nice place and area to walk around in. Parking was convenient and free so liked that too.

I reserved the Hunter S. Thompson suite online. I got an email.confirmation specifying that suite. (It has a certain cachet, that's why they charge more for it.) When I arrived, they said someone was in that room for three days. They put me in a different room.

  • Violet Maddox

I go to the restaurant even though I live in sf and dont need to use the hotel. It has very good breakfast. I personally love the French toast. I think it is a very nice place and all of my family members that have visited us and stayed in the hotel loved it.

  • Cobi Williams

Gone for breakfast a couple of times. A fairly typical experience for a hotel restaurant. Good food, a typical Americana breakfast menu, and a great view. Service was about what you'd expect during peak times, and the food came out in similarly typical time.

  • K S

The location is stellar. Walk along Lands End Trail. Eat at the Cliff House. Explore the Legion of Honor. Walk on the beach. All without ever getting into a vehicle. The staff members are really nice, and the room was very comfortable. We wanted for nothing.

  • Brad Zaworski

Not good at all. Coffee was horrible, burger was dry, eggs florentine was bad as hollandaise sauce was not hollandaise sauce and the spinach used tasted like it was freezer burned. Can't believe the other ratings saying it was good. Yuk, worst meal in SF.

  • Rose Hindman

The room was comfortable with an amazing view. The location is perfect to get to the beach and park and rest of the city. The staff was great. Best of all, their safety practices were well thought out and followed. Will absolutely stay again.

  • John L

Nice room almost on the ocean. You actually can see it from most rooms. Rooms are large. Major drawback is it is right across from a bus transfer station, so there is noise from early in the morning to late at night. Enjoyed it otherwise.

  • Geod #

Review for restaurant only. Rude attitude laden waiters and waitress. Unfriendly and not accommodating to children. Actually had another stranger guest speak up when they were rude to us and our child. Morning 11/25/18. Food was fine.

  • Steven Adams

The room is spacious and inviting. There is easy access to the nearby parks and buses run from right at the Inn. The staff are accommodating and informative of what to to and where to go in the area. The price is right for the area.

  • Shiraz

You don't come here for the service haha. The waitresses are surly, but the breakfast is worth overlooking I guess. The omelettes are great and the coffee always bountiful. I came only for the restaurant and didn't stay at the Inn

  • Lori Wan

The room is old-fashioned and had a strong odor when we first walked into the room. Quiet neighborhood. A 5-minute walk from the hotel to the beach.

Historical and the views. Half block from the Pacific Ocean. The Latino Cooks in the kitchen are fantastic there is a little restaurant here unbeknownst me to most folks except us native San Franciscans born and raised here

  • Shavar Belgrave

I ate a late breakfast at the restaurant. They had a good menu and food was very reasonably priced for being in the city. The Sutro baths and public park are within walking distance. The view from the park was amazing!

Fantastic views from the room and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. The fireplace works and was a nice addition to the atmosphere. I will definitely be staying here again!

  • Sam Bissell

Great little hole in the wall diner about 100 yards up the street from Cliff House, attached to the Seal Rock Inn motel. Great Greek food, especially the Gyros!! Been going here every time I'm in town since 1992!!

  • Phil Henry

Nice location and friendly staff. Clean towels and linens, but room decor is ancient, run down, and tatty. Needed refurbishment years ago. Collocated independent restaurant has friendly staff and food is good.

  • Brendon Nemeth

Cute little cafe with delicious food and homey feel. Staff is nice, and very attentive. Coffee is delicious and free-flowing and breakfast is on point. Beautiful views of the SF Bay from some of the windows.

  • Adam Johnson

Apparently it's a law to people at seal rock, that you can't get a room when you are under 21. Even though, I've stayed at multiple other hotels at the age of 18. Also, the guy at the front desk was a jerk.

  • Alicia Nam

Comfy & quaint stay :) room was clean, shower had nice smelling aromatherapy shampoos and there was free parking on site. Took a nice, relaxing stroll to the nearby Lands End Lookout in the morning …

  • Chia S

Room was clean and comfortable. No frills, great service. A peek of the ocean from the room and a quick walk down to the Lands End Lookout.

Waitress was horrible! We ordered 2 mimosas and she delivered both & placed our check on the table!!! Never thought to asked if we needed anything else? Rude, Ancient decor, and service is 0

  • Gabe L

Quiet neighborhood overlooking the ocean. Classic SF Chinese food is a 10 minute walk away. Beds much harder than I'd prefer but the room was clean an the bathroom was spacious and modern.

  • M P

This is for the restaurant only: Great creative omelettes. Great views. Even though it's attached to the motel, it's been a local favorite for years. There can be a bit of a wait at times.

  • Julie Smith

The view from the windows were down the hill & out to the Pacific Ocean. The food was very good & brought to us by their friendly staff. Coffee cups & water glasses were refilled often.

  • ann reilly

Love Seal Rock cafe !!! Breakfast excellent! my favorite BIG JOHNS OMLETE! Sunday eggs benidict! Andy -Eileen -Peter great service ,friendly and fast ! Take a walk after in sutro park !

  • Eli Ferrer

Not a good experience. The waiter was rude. People only come here because of the location and only tourists stop in. Otherwise this place would close in 6 weeks if were anywhere else.

  • Russell Simms

Old SF feel. No frills. Views of the ocean and Land's End area. Delicious omelettes and hash browns! Wait staff fairly attentive, but food worth it at an accessible price.

  • Thomas Kaun

Have been going here for years. Nice place for breakfast (nice selection of very good omelets, my favorite is the Italian) or lunch with bit of a Greek flavor to the menu.

  • dameon holt

Great location if you want to be near ocean beach. Has a nice little restaurant. Ft. Miley is within walking distance. There are alot of walking trails nearby and a park.

Had lunch here before strolling on the nearby trails. Lunch was comfort food and all the family found something they liked. A nice view and pleasant service.

  • James Thornton

Food was decent but not anything special. The service was polite and perfunctory. Pretty fair prices as far as the city goes, and in a pretty nice location.
