Mediocre deli fast food quality for such an amazing location! My friend and I were sadly disappointed because we were looking forward to make this out new frequent spot after checking out their menu. Service was super confusing! You either offer self serve or you serve us. They were so inconsistent on how and where we could pick up our food. They gave us our cold pastries first, but those needed to be warm were left sitting at the other end of the order counter when they were done without no one calling our names or number. So by the time we asked for them, they were to cold. Casual cafe feel with cramped sitting tables so you would hear everyone's conversations. We got two of their daily soup and saw the back staff pulled them out of a typical to go container to heated them up. At this point, we were even more confused how long ago they were made in-house or they got their soup from elsewhere. Both tomatoes bisque and minestrone were salty and watery. We each had one spoon and they went straight to the trash area right around the corner of our table. They gave us the wrong soup at first. The side kitchen area was full of carts and trays so we know they bake something there. Yet, after our abundance order we just didn't what they made in-house and what were not. We will not be back nor recommend it to anyone!

St Honoré used to be a go to place for me years ago. Recently went back and the nostalgia tour continues to disappoint. Gone are the days when you would get a latte in a real mug and a freshly prepared meal on an actual plate. Now it’s all served on disposable paper and plastic. It’s pretty much all self service, trash was overflowing, the floor was covered in crumbs and debris, flies doing their thing, etc. The food was seemingly pre-prepared and just heated up but it’s not even heated up evenly. The center of our quiche Lorraine was room temp. The coffee was scalding hot (probably 180 or 190) and any barista worth their salt knows once you go above 160ish degrees the milk texture is changed for the worse. I could say more but ultimately I am saddened that a once favorite place of mine has slid so far. Can’t say I’ll be going back. If you just fly by for a croissant. Then I’m sure it’s fine.

I went here for many years and moved away recently, and came back to find it completely dumpy. Whereas it used to be a classy little cafe where you could get a nice variety of French breakfast items on real plates and coffee in real cups, now they just apparently reheat old quiche and throw it on a paper plate with an equally messy handful of pre-mixed salad and serve their coffee in paper cups to people dining in, with plastic silverware to boot. The coffee is extraordinary bitter, the quiche was runny, and my fork literally broke into shards while attempting to eat. Furthermore, there were SO many flies I had to move away from the window and they clearly do not clean off tables or around the windows as if you look down they are literally CRUSTY with old food debris. I tossed it all and left, this was SO disappointing. Zero environmental or cleanliness concerns there. Ew.

Staff was very disrespectful during our last visit. We stood in front of the bakery display case to place an order. The servers were not helping any other customers, and completely ignored us even though we stood in front of them and tried to get their attention for 4-5 minutes. One person eventually sternly told us to order from the cash register. They rolled their eyes and refused to help us from the display case and acted like we were inconveniencing them by asking them to walk over there even though they literally had to go there anyway to get the baked goods. It was so ridiculous. If you don’t want to work, then quit you job and don’t be disrespectful to customers. Show some basic decency. We were pretty frequent customers before this and will not be returning.

I ordered online a salad and two pastries. My grub hub driver showed up only with a salad and said the bakery stapled the bag so he couldn’t check to see that the pastries weren’t there. I called St. Honore and the person on the phone just said “we didn’t get the ticket”. That didn’t help anything and the lack of accountability on the restaurant was annoying to be honest. “We didn't get the ticket” means and does nothing for me. I just paid over $20 to get a salad that costs like $9 and received less than half my order without even a “sorry” or anything to make up for it. I ordered those pastries to surprise my mother and when the package got here, it was a let down. I won’t be back obviously.

What a rip off this place is... I was excited to find this place but ...$ 12.00 for a loaf of bread that’s cheaper than cheap to make, and it’s taste is nothing to talk about. My breakfast was soggy and also nothing to speak of. On top of that I was playing musical tables because each table I set at with my overpriced meal was very wobbly. I give this place 2 stars for ambiance and I appreciate seeing workers working right in front of my eyes. Staff was super nice but that does not make up for everything else.

French pastries are the best anywhere you go. But when it’s done right - it becomes a destination. Flaky croissants, flavorful tarts, other pastries that I can’t even pronounce - fantastic! They are remodeling 1 section of the caffe and seating was limited. But very enjoyable morning overall.

Disappointed dishes replaced by paper plates and hot soup in a soft plastic to-go container for eating in-store. Cleaning seemed to stop months ago with dust gathering and dirty floors. But the worst offense is watching a gentleman behind the counter wipe his nose 3 times, mouth once, and top of head, then ring up an order and then take the pastries out with his bare hands. (Watched similar pattern on 2 visits but there won’t be a third)

  • Ruth Ritchey

Sadly, the quality of both food and service has gone downhill! I used to regularly come for the Kouign-amann and an Americano coffee. The pastry taste of inferior quality ingredients. Not at all close to traditional consistency or delicacy or appearance. The coffee was acceptable but served in a paper cup along with paper plates and plastic cutlery. So very disappointing. I will not be returning.

Its okay. When I go to any place, more than just the food... I come back because of the awesome customer's service. This place have good food, not so much on the customer's service. No one greeted me when i entered. And they're werent busy at all. There was no one a head of me. I had to grab the guy's attention to serve me coz he was busy on his cellphone. Im a little disappointed.

Such amazing drinks and pastries. I particularly love their seasonal matcha. This summer was a berry maple blend, if I recall correctly, and it was out of this world. I ordered a heap load of pastries and everything was beyond satisfying- texture, flavor, sweetness. The service is stunning. There is indoor and outdoor seating. ☺️✨ Enjoy!

  • Teresa

Love this cute French bakery. I came here to have breakfast and adored the vibe. The fresh bakery in the back is quite the production. They had in and outdoor seating. The croque madame I had was decadent. I also took a loaf of bread home for the week. The service was friendly and fast. I would definitely come back to try a pastry.

  • Nicole

Jambon parisen ⭐⭐✨ - the bread was too chewy for me - wish it was warmed up honestly, that might have helped - the ingredients were top notch but the chewy bread was off putting Croque monsieur ⭐⭐⭐✨ - loved this more than the jambon - it was pretty solid - very thin, maybe not worth the price - still really good though

  • stacia studt

Incredible pastries, very tasty coffee, and a lovely outdoor seating area. The only negative aspect of my experience was the fact that they exclusively use single-use cups and plates. I’m addition to being terrible for the environment, drinking a cappuccino at a French cafe out of a paper cup is disappointing.

I used to live close by and come here all of the time. It is not as good as it used to be and has gotten a lot more expensive (more than 4 dollars for a chocolate croissant). Not a bad place and the pastries are good but hopefully they can figure out what seems to be extremely high staff turnover and prices

  • RK Glass

Not just pastry!!! We went there for the pastry but my wife ended up getting the frittata croissant which came with side salad. I got a well brewed American, a French apple turnover and a mini Marionberry. There was a lot on the menu and we will being going back to try there wonderful food. Thank you!

  • david slavens

I thought I didn't like macarons... Until I tried these ones! The blackcurrant and passion fruit have such a delicate texture with a soft jammy inside. Delightful! And I think the person at the counter gave us a second mocha macaron cuz one had turned out so small. Definitely appreciated that! …

  • Bonnie McLeod

I love this place but WOW what a disappointment today. I went there this morning to get an almond croissant for my birthday and it was way over baked. I was so looking forward to it with a coffee. It will not stop me from going back. In the future if something is over baked don’t sell it.

  • Elanor Smith

Great little place. Has both indoor and outdoor bistro seating. Bakery items are delicious and the sandwich options are very good. Non-coffee and tea options are limited but the sparkling water flavors are nice and pair well with the food offerings. Definitely recommend this for lunch.

  • 35RedBackpack

We enjoyed a good lunch experience here on our last visit to Portland. This time was a huge disappointment. The place was empty and the staff appeared bored. The food looked sad and unappealing. That should’ve been our clue to turn around and go elsewhere. No need to return.

decently yummy pastries and desserts; service was quite quick. i think i got my cafe au lait in under a minute, and it was yummy and as smooth as i expected i tried a slice of opera cake. it was tasty, but not mind-blowin'ly so. there's a fair amount of indoor seatin'.

  • Bella P.

Very beautiful location! I got a salad and a gluten free black forest cake---both very delicious. Fair prices for the food, and great for the high quality and taste of the items. Staff was very friendly, lots of sitting room, pretty environment and very clean.

  • Katelyn White

Pretty good bakery! The kouign amann has a bit too much sea salt but otherwise delicious. The flourless chocolate cake is delicious but my picky partner felt it didn't have enough chocolate flavor. Delicious lemon and blueberry Danish and pain au Chocolat.

  • Augustina Elizabeth (#lifeofauggie)

The coffee was lovely and the available gluten-free pastries were divine. I really appreciate it the ability to order more than one thing off of the menu in a bakery. I also thought that the woman who waited on us was incredibly friendly and hospitable.

  • Wendy Durighello

It used to be such a delightful consistent bakery, now it's like nobody cares. Went this afternoon for Cafe Creme and a tart Citron both were overcooked. That kind of mediocrity should never be allowed to be sent out to the public at $5 a pop or better

  • Theodore Hellmann

The title “Meilleuir Ouvrier de France” - which translates to “best craftsman of France” - can be read on the door - and it shows. The desserts here are quite uniquely good and I would decisively recommend stopping in for a dessert and coffee.

  • Tyeesha Marcell

I have been here twice and while the food is fine, the service is incredibly weird. Both times I've been in, I've done so to pick up items and both times I was completely ignored until finally I waved someone over. Perhaps the pick up area

only 1 star because there’s no option for 0 stars. i will not be returning or giving st. honore another dime. the employees are lovely, anytime i’ve been there just so sweet. However, there was a man sitting at the counter on his laptop,

  • Alisa Hardy

I used to loooove this place but I hate how they serve prepackaged salads now and everything on paper plates with plastic utensils. It feels like I’m at an airport. Hopefully they change back to their prepandemic practices.

  • Arrielle

The vegetable quiche was good, but a little too salty for my taste and the accompanied side salad was tiny. The service needs improvement. Their cappuccino was nice and foamy, but tasted burnt and bitter even with sugar.

  • Leslie Alfred Sanya

I love the ambience and the pastry was fresh, so was the coffee. I like that you can add cinnamon or other condiments in your tea or coffee at no extra cost. I'll definitely make regular stops here to explore the menu.

  • Cammy Tan

first time to tried their pastries and soooo good. These pastries is perfect with coffee and tea. It’s not too sweet it just perfect . If you like French pastries then you should try this bakery. …

  • Rohit N.

The quiche made for great lunch. Lots of veg options, and the desserts are to die for. Note that chocolate eclair had a chocolate filling and not the usual custard. I loved it, but my partner was surprised.

  • Taylor Stone

Super ! Lovely spot to get early morning coffee, read the paper at a nice long wooden table by the window (or sit outside in the beautiful sun in the summer) and enjoy a delightful pastry or lunch.

  • Jimi Dodge

Really what can I say? If you want some french pastries etc, you can't go wrong here. I highly recommend the egg fritata sandwich for breakfast. Delicious and will keep you full past lunch time!!!

  • Laurin Radcliffe

always wonderful. not pictured; my absolutely delicious brie aux fines herbes sandwich. that and their perfect tarte citron have been my favorites for years and years, at every location.

  • Christia Troyer

The pastries are excellent. I really love this place. Don't get the soup. They are individually frozen and then reheated. Not nearly the same quality as the bread and other bakery items.

  • Cheryl Chan

Stumbled into this place after lunch, wanted coffee & dessert. This is definitely the place to go. The placed smelled heavenly... great dessert & great coffee, glad we stumbled upon it.

  • Sant Sanitacíon

This is my favorite patisserie, their pastries are very authentic and is the most similar to what you can buy in France. Atmosphere is cozy, outdoor seating is great for doggies.

  • Jacqueline Khoo

Loves the Parisian vibe and I felt like walking into a bakery in Paris! The chocolate hazelnut croissant was good while the pistachio latte was a bit too sweet to my liking.

  • Raechell Hurtado De Mendoza

This place is great. The drinks are great. The food is great. The staff are great. They have in dining, but not many tables. Most people, such as i, get their

Fantastic breakfast and pastries! The manager was amazing and gave us lots of tips on areas to visit and things to do during our visit in the Portland area!

  • Alex Choi

One of the best pastries we had in a while, blueberry lemon danish and pain au chocolat was so good. Love to go back if we ever visit Portland again.

  • Kelli Barkley

So many delectable options to choose from. A warm inviting place to gather with friends. You can visit many times and not easy the same thing twice.

  • Olga Gulyy Cherchenko

Got the raspberry tart , it was so so good! The tomatoe mozarella balsamic sandwich wasn't for my taste buds though, was a bit too sour...

  • Julianna

Amazing vibes, great pastries. Tried the chai latte twice, the first was better than the second so lacks some consistency in their drinks.
