This venue plays music very loudly that can be heard clearly in my flat a quarter mile away, with noise cancelling headphone and all the windows shut. Moreover, their gigs apparently go as late as 4am some nights, even during the work week. I've already filed a noise complaint. I can only imagine that the music is loud enough to damage the ears of those inside the venue. I'm posting this review in the hope that the business will read this and take suitable care to keep noise after hours to a reasonable level before I, or someone like me, reports this enough times for their license to be reviewed. Update: Despite noise complaints from more than one source, it apparently hasn't dulled their enthusiasm for playing ear-splitting, profanity-laden music loud enough to be heard a quarter-mile away. Was treated to an auditory dumpster-fire in my own home for eight hours today. Truly the worst.

I live down the street from this “cafe” and have been messaging the staff for months asking them to turn their music down as I can hear it from my flat as if it was only next door & have even tried ringing them only for them to answer and not say anything, just leaving the music blasting through the phone. You would think the owner would want to keep the public happy, however they’re clearly not fussed as I know we aren’t the only ones that have complained. The music sounds awful and I’m stuck listening to it from 3pm-4am. Writing this in hopes that staff will see it and be more considerate, however at this point I think that’s wishful thinking!

The "DJ" sound very poor, and we were DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED that the event (The Upbeat Beatles) despite being advertised for 8-10.30pm, (which I thought was fine as we had a very early start to travel to London the following day) but, whether the bar had to take a lot of dosh before the group were allowed to come on stage or what, it was AN HOUR AND A HALF STANDING ABOUT waitIng before they finally appeared, so we had to leave "early", MISSING THE LAST HOUR OF THE GIG. The venue itself is fine, as per other reviews, but we certainly won't be back as we can't rely on their publicity...shameful!

Quadrophenia themed evening. The venue is great and the balcony is good if u don't like dancing. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone was up for a lively night There was curry available which was lovely. Staff were friendly and engaging. I would recommend this venue and am looking forward to the next event! It's fantastic to go back to old times!

I paid to come to a freshers event here but on arrival i had to wait for an hour for food to start and once it did it started to pour down with rain so we left as the food was based outside and we where promised cannapys not fried chicken and sides but, the place itself wouldnt be that bad if it wasnt pouring with rain when i visited

By far the best venue in Leicester, everyone from the security team to the bar staff are great, proper nice people all round. Great selection of acts. My kids loved the baby rave, and the Sunday radio session. The festival is a great way to enjoy lots of diffent act. VJ knows how to run a venue where you walk in and feel at home.

Absolutely brilliant venue. Clean toilets but they lost one star from me as the doorstaff were exceptionally arrogant and unhelpful. Felt like they were trying to Lord it over us. Rasta stands for equality. We don't deal with that nonsense. All in all a fantastic venue. Girls on the door were lovely.

Music quality was so bad it nearly made me deaf. My ears were ringing for a few hours after visiting the venue. Only stayed for couple of hours as it was hard to talk or even to enjoy it. Never again.

went to see the British Collective, amzaing night. great venue in Leicester, great sound, limited seating, dance floor, great friendly staff. No parking, but there is some just round the corner. the venue can be hired out for your personal event. Great little place.

First time to this venue for myself and my Friend. Cracking night last night for Evelyn Champagne King. Love the layout of the venue, lovely outside area for smoking and / or chilling. Also the Caribbean food smelt divine. Excellent venue,

Set an event that finishes at 2am to have a last entry of 6pm. That’s insane. No one wants to be in a club before 10, but they were fine taking thousands of students’ money for tickets, and then not allowing entry in the last EIGHT hours.

Wicked little venue. Great system and dance floor. Very nice outside area. Friendly staff had a great couple of Hardcore events there. Lots of good events there and a great place to have partys.

So this is what they give students for a freshers event that they call a brunch ? Absolutely ridiculous paid £15 for 4 Chicken strips and rice because chips ran out better of going to Nando’s.

Went to see Upbeat Beatles. Atmosphere was really good staff very helpful. And if you are a love of The Beatles . they were brilliant. Going see them again in May. Litchfield. Great night out

Active hub of Music of Black Origin showcasing good value reggae, dub, hip-hop, rap and other events and sometimes pulling some decent names too including Doc Brown and Julian Marley in 2017.

A great venue for live music, the owner, staff and security manage this venue spot on. A nice smoking area and nice views of the stage from most places inside the building.

Great place for a party or night out, good atmosphere good vibe. Guarantee an enjoyable time. One negative, parking is a bit of a problem but no different to anywhere else.

What a hole!! Didn't even stay for the tribute band, they over fill the place, nowhere to sit, security just there for show, it's filthy and I would never return.

Went with my sister for a Korean music night and were not disappointed! Was a little quiet but may be due to the theme, but will go again door only £2/p!!

Music was really good on the 80s night but expect to wait up to and over half an hour for a drink which is kind of ridiculous for a Thursday night

House of verse night quality night out like a mini festival indoors. Variety of acts, styles and a whole bunch of wonderful friendly folk .

Absolute great night. Had the pleasure of going on the night of stevie wonder tribute and motown. There was food on too which was perfect.

Poor sound quality which pierced everyone's ears causing a fair amount distress. Very basic set up with no heaters in the smoking area.
